My brother forgive my thoughts expressions of its pessimism, disbelief or dismissive that nothing good could ever crop out of Nigeria electoral system.

I know I’m not the only seemingly pessimist of the ever predictable 9ja electoral wonders.

I will say, don't allow my words distract you. I pray a day comes where things should be the way it should be, by global standard of rightness.

I’m also hopeful for such day, regardless
My brother..

I understand you fully..
I understand you very well..

I HAVE BOYCOTTED ELECTIONS TWO TIMES IN THE PAST DUE TO THEIR ELECTORAL SHENANIGANS.. AND I KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE ALSO BOYCOTTING THE RECENT ELECTIONS FOR THE SAME REASONS TOO..

BUT THAT WILL NOT MAKE OUR ELECTIONS TO BECOME BETTER..

These people are so desperate that they had once declared Winner of an LG election in Abuja with only 7% voters turnout..

In fact,, even if only 30 persons come out to vote in 2027 Presidential Election,, the INEC we know will declare a winner, and whoever they declare as winner will rule over the remaining 220million people who didn't vote.

And this is exactly what they really want our people to become..

This is just another "pressure group" action which has proven to be utterly
useless when it comes to the issue of political power.
The truth here is that, “You can never say ‘Never’ in this particular scenario..”

You cannot totally rule out the usefulness of organic activities from the citizens.
#EndSARS is a very good example of such.

..

Moreover, if it improbably has significant impact, the major parties will just launch their own app version the next election cycle using the ever willing mushroom groups that litter the political space.
Since 2015,, all these major parties already have similar apps/softwares set-up at their various election monitoring situation rooms.. And they don't need the so-called mushroom political groups to send the data to them.. They usually pay and train Agents at all levels who are in constant communication with these situation rooms..

..

Nothing outside of mandated electronic upload and live tallying inserted into
the electoral act can make a difference.
I agree with this one too..
But up till this moment, both the INEC and the members of our National Assembly still believe that it is such a difficult technology to have.. Especially that of live electronic tallying and collation system.

IT'S REALLY SO PAINFUL THAT THEY STILL BELIEVE THAT WE ARE THIS BACKWARD IN THIS COUNTRY.!!

..

I understand the need to do "something" now but the impact in my opinion will be at most to demonstrate that it could one day be officially replicated.
Though some countries already had the system for decades and should have served
as inspiration to the government.
You're very correct..
If the citizens have something that is live and instantaneous and electronic, and the technology makes it possible for the citizens themselves to LIST DOWN ALL THE POLLING-UNITS WHERE THERE WERE MANIPULATIONS,, EVEN BEFORE THE INEC CALLS THE FINAL RESULTS, (without waiting for the INEC or waiting on the Politicians), then the INEC and the Politicians (and even the nonsense copy-and-paste Media) would all be forced to know (without being told) THAT THE PEOPLE ARE ALREADY SO TIRED OF ALL THEIR ARCHAIC METHODS.

..

Given that no sitting president will sign their own electoral loss because electoral
integrity will make it easy to vote out incompetent leaders.
I am just very optimistic..
If it doesn't happen now, it will still happen sooner (or even later),, but it won't take too long before we get it right..

AND IT WILL START FROM THE PEOPLE..
IT WILL DEFINITELY START FROM THE CITIZENS.

..

vikithor:
INEC will frustrate it.
This is not true. INEC will be so busy with their own results and trying to see how to manipulate and inflate results,, while the App/Software will just calmly be flagging those faulty results with redness..!!
And the citizens will just be taking notes.

If they rigged, and we didn't know how they rigged, it is a fault on us. And we cannot stop a repetition of the rigging.
But if they rigged and we saw everything they did, we can easily expose them and stop them from repeating the rigging again.

..

Apc will order tech-gurus to hack and frustrate it.
THIS PARTICULAR LIE HAD BEEN FOUND SO USELESS.!!
The App/Software is well protected by-the-way.

..

Inec will switch off server
Please say something else my brother..

..

NASS will delay approval of this bill to be signed into law until after 2027 elections.
That is why we cannot continue to wait for NASS..
We the citizens are taking them up in a tech-to-tech battle here.

..

NPF will provide cover for apc thugs to carry and run away with thumb printed and voted ballot boxes.
Let that one be taken care of by some other mechanisms we would put in place towards that time..

..

Nigeria Judifraudry will judge that using this citizens Monitor is illegal..
I want to let you know that the main use of this App/Software is not to call results, but to give the Citizens better details of results that were announced.

Up till now, we still get to have INEC announcing results, yet they don't produce the details of such results they announced. And we really need these details..

So, since INEC don't have the details, and we really need it for our analyses and researches,, this Citizen-Monitors would be the next place to get such details from.

WE DON'T NEED SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENTS FOR US TO KNOW WHERE TO SOURCE THE NECESSARY DATA FOR OUR RESEARCHES FROM..

..

Post 2027 elections, we are back to Nigeria wonder repeat cycle..

Brown paper journalist will write to explain why Judifraudry must be obeyed for peace and prosperity in the land.

CBNC will keep mum until after election nicodemously pay visit to Highest rigger/forger.

CAN will also not voice out loudly so ruling party will not feel betrayed.

PFN with present national leadership will be available for repeat business and we shall during Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal court verdict waiting period be told in a coded way by House on the rock to move on heaven is more important than Nigerian earth's elections.
As depressing as all these things may be,, I am not giving-up hope yet.

Let me give it one more try.
I may be sounding so naive here,, but I just refuse to be depressed and defeated.

These devils are ready to do anything..
But they always find their strength in the fact that “NIGERIANS THEMSELVES DON'T TRULY REALLY CARE DEEPLY ABOUT ANYTHING..”

And again,, they know very well that we Love Quietness too much,, and we move on too easily..

..

Nigeria is running in circles 🔵

All your leaders knows so

Na who get time to waste fit dey do follow up with Nigeria election charade
Unless you're no more in Nigeria,, then you can call the Nigerian Elections a waste of time..
(And even if you're no more in Nigeria, whenever you have need for the Nigerian Embassy in wherever country you are,, you will just get so depressed by the type of Nigerian-Standard Service you will get at the embassy)..

Then, if you're in Nigeria,, MY BROTHER,, OUR ELECTIONS MUST CONCERN YOU OOO..

Because whether you like it or not, whether you boycott or not,, whoever that wins will be the one who decides everything about our lives.

A young man Ivwananji Mwamba has committed suicide after he publicly exposed his friend identified as Nwaiche Norman for allegedly sleeping with his wife.

This unfortunate incident reportedly happened in Zambia.

Ivwananji has reportedly committed suicide by consuming an unknown substance just hours after making the revelation on Facebook.

In his final note, he expressed his pain, saying, “I know I have let you all down, but I had no other way to sort it out. Two years wasted is just too much.”

He posted on Facebook:

Friends have confirmed the news and are mourning the loss of a beloved companion.

The citizenry will be mobilized against that.

No sane Nigerian would go to queue and vote in 2027 with this same Electoral Law.

When the demand will start, Tinubu’s hands will be too forced until he has no option than to give in.

This country is too big to be his playground.
I don't want to surprise you.
But 2027 will come, and there will be no Electoral Reforms.

There will be Serious Massive Boycotts at Worst-Case Scenario..
(Something which the South Easterners had tried many times already in the past, and they had found out that it is very useless method of embarking on a protest during elections)

..

They will try to fool us again by telling us that “IF WE COME OUT AND VOTE MASSIVELY, THERE WON'T BE FREE HANGING NUMBERS THAT WOULD BE LEFT FOR “THEM” TO MANIPULATE WITH”.. Which is a very deceptive statement to make.
MUST THEY MANIPULATE.??

No, don’t.

I feel they are bidding their time.

You know the demand for Electoral Reform will heat up the polity and I feel the opposition wants to give Tinubu two years to govern after Supreme Court gave him legitimacy.

I might be wrong but I see a lot changing after May 29th this year when Tinubu shall have celebrated 2 years in office.

There’s going to coordinated action of the opposition towards getting both Electoral Reform and other things.
Tinubu is waiting to milk the flawed electoral laws again..

And that means, he will do anything for the reforms not to be signed it into law now..

..

This now leaves us with the flawed electoral laws,, and it still means that whatever they throw at us, that is what we have to go with.

And there is no way for us to challenge them by saying that:
“Yes,, they cheated and we know what we are saying” -- just because we don't have any strong evidence to back ourselves up with.

But I just want to tell you that if the legal framework backing elections in Nigeria is not reworked in such a way that there is no loophole for the criminals in power to exploit, then we will be wasting our time.

For now, I’m just looking at opposition lawmakers to see when and what they intend to come up with as regards Electoral Reform.
I have lost hope in those ones over there.

It's very glaringly clear that:

You are both entitled and constrained by your opinion. The holistic view of your app makes no sense because it can be manipulated and hijacked.... depending on who funds it or who enters the figures into it. There are more elections in Nigeria than eyes can meet. ...I wonder if you have any robust cognitive experience in coordinating national voting in the country ....
It is simple to use this type of app for elections in developed countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and others. Regarding cyber-attacks...Do you know how many cyber attacks some of the Inec database used to experience during the election period.....do you have enough capacity to withstand such capacity to defend such expertise cyber manipulation....for me, this is a distraction...because, as you have opined...it is free and open to the public.... even those companies who spend a lot of money to defend their IT work space still lose it to some sophisticated attackers... viable IT space is not cheap...so don't distract the public with your pseudo-app
Ok..

But I need to let you know that the developers of the App/Software took a lot of things into consideration.

Any reliable technology to deepen our electoral processes is a welcome development but is the current NASS and government ready for that?
This has nothing to do with NASS..
This is just going to be a private online product that would guide the General Public to instantly judge the results that were released by the INEC..
It won't replace the INEC Results in any way.

NASS can always make the laws that guide the conduct of the INEC and the Political Parties..

All their obsession now is about winning elections by hook or crook. Mahmud Yakubu is still seating as INEC head appointing partisan RECs for APC while the NASS is not even concerned with deepening electoral reforms especially the IREV portal legality -- 2 years to another election cycle.
About the INEC’s IREV-Portal,, I am still observing it.
