ShenTeh: The real people don't care much.
The widescale corruption and gross leadership incompetence bedevilling the African continent vide our so-called democratic/civilian leaders makes the continent hopeless.
Imagine no one African country in this century has been able to be developed - we are all still third worlds!
Look at the debts, the corruption, the unemployment and insecurity ravaging our country because of leadership incompetence, do you think the ordinary Nigerian cares what type of government is able to help bring the country back to safety and the path of hope and glory.
Democracy -especially in Africa- is a scam. I concur bro. It's just that I am worried. We are too docile in Africa to hold our so called leaders accountable for their maladministration. They have divided us so much along ethnic and religious lines just to cling unto power to the extent that we can no longer unite to remove them except what is happening in Mali today. It's a shame! A big shame!!! There should be something like the Arab Spring in Sub Saharan Africa to remove these corrupt and nepotistic despots. Call it Sub Saharan Spring or whatever, but let's just do it for the time is now. Failure to do this, our continent will remain in the 13th century. |

Mcreloaded: Monitoring the situation here live at Bamako I can authoritatively tell you the military frantically searching for a political solution. France and Ecowas and other countries have all agreed to deal with the coup plotters by placing sanctions on them.
The only option is for the coup plotters to bring in a semblance of civilian government and fresh elections must be conducted within a few months time for peace to reign. Can any good political solution come out of a military regime? A coup in this 21st century? This is no good news for Africa at all. |

ajl: You folks are not wise. You think it is Nigeria where any foreigner can come in to do anything? Just look at the fee Lagos State charges Uber and Bolt. Is it not the same as local companies. Who is unwise here? Nigeria of course. It is the government responsibility to protect its citizens and businesses from foreign takeover. I don't blame Ghana. It is their country and they have the right to impose rules that pleases them. Let Nigeria also take care and protect its citizens and business as well. You don't say because of foreign investment, allow foreigners takeover. Most investment in Nigeria is done by Nigerians and not by foreigners. Nigerian diaspora send home several fold of billion dollars every year. In 2019 alone, Nigerian diaspora sent home $17.57 billion compared to foreign direct investment of just $3.3 billion. And not to talk about investment done by Nigerians based at home. Who should the priority be for? Nigerian businesses or foreign ones? Your president will soon start sending ministerial delegations to beg after you finish making all these noise. |

Ghana seems to be the only country I know where there is separate laws for its local business men and non-Ghanians. Or are they still pained by the border closure by the Nigerian government which they see as being targeted at them? Because the above listed laws suddenly came into effect the moment Nigeria closed her borders against smugglers. All this is just bad belle. |

He is looking like someone in a court dock, not like in a house screening. The worst part of it is that he has got more than a thousand congratulatory messages from Umunneochi people before his disgrace at the house. If congratulatory messages could guarantee confirmation...... Don't attack people that you will later find yourself at their mercy when in times of need. It's not all that will forgive. His matter was already concluded before his appearance.
