CultureRe: Your Thoughts On African Americans Moving Back To Africa. by Blyss(op): 6:43pm On Feb 18, 2013
gst101: what are people called, is it african americans or black americans?
Either or, it doesn't really matter. Though some prefer black-american, over the more common African-American these days.
CultureRe: Your Thoughts On African Americans Moving Back To Africa. by Blyss(op): 6:41pm On Feb 18, 2013
gst101: it is a good idea. It is absolutely ok in my opinion. I believe it can make black americans wake up if they are all by themselves.

But it will be a long process. I expect all africans especially those of us in west africa to support this idea. Afterall we are the reason you are in a far away land.

But why do you want to come back? Why not west africa? Why central or southern africa?
Dont you think Serena williams looks Igbo?

Would you like Nigeria to help you in any way?
The reason I've stated that Central Africa would be best is for a couple of reason, the first being that the area has a very comparable weather pattern to the deep southern portion of the US, also it's not as densely populated as most other comparable areas of the continent, thus leaving more room for obtaining a viable amount of space to comfortably settle upon, with little dispute from any native groups whom may be parted from the land. West Africa is just way too crowded to allow for any major portion of land to be distributed without such a move causing some major conflict within the nation giving up the territory. With the low density of Central African nations, such a plan is much more feasible.

As for why we would want to come back, I'll simply inform you of that in our minds it's not an issue of coming back, but rather simply a pilgrimage to settle upon a land in which is in part rightfully ours via ancestral connection, and to fulfill an burning desire in many AA to obtain an homeland independent of this conglomerate entity known as the USA.

CultureRe: Your Thoughts On African Americans Moving Back To Africa. by Blyss(op): 8:17am On Feb 18, 2013
bigfrancis21: It sure does sound like a good plan but it is unlikely that many african americans will want to buy the idea for so many reasons. Some are:
1) Many AAs may not want to leave a country very developed, with a working system, for some undeveloped bare untilled land to live and start life all over again.
Granted, such a venture will not be to every ones taste in the beginning, it'll take those with strong will, a goal and determination to pioneer the effort, and trust me when I tell you that their are many thousands of AA who have such embodiment.

2) It is going to take several thousands of years to bring their acquired space in Africa to a developed level. Of course, you know it is no easy task. Think about the funds, the intellectual capability, etc.
Thousands of years? undecided No, no where near thousands of years, Ace. With a steady stream of quality AA coming in with their massive amounts of resources, connections, education and most importantly Experience, it'll take less than 30 years to become Africa's most prosperous and progressive economic force, and this nation's presence of a homogeneous population would be the major spearheading drive behind such rapid growth. The sensational grounds for high profit margins in such a nation as one of well educated, money flushed, African-American on "virgin" African ground would spurge a fierce drive the world round to invest and invest big in this new society.

3) The harsh weather conditions of Africa! Many AAs will not survive under the harsh sun conditions of Africa, and not definitely in the Congo area where the Sun shine is terrible. One thing you may not know is many lightskinned AAs in America have beautiful light skins in an admirable way while the Sun in Africa only serves to keep Africans blacker than ever. Most lightskinned Africans that migrate to temperate weather countries such as the US usually notice a great natural improvement in their skin tone. On the other hand, any AA who returns to Africa and stays for just a year will experience a significant darkening of his skin color. This isn't definitely what many want.
Nowadays, what we are experiencing here in Africa is a mass outflux of africans, in search of a better life, to the US/UK, and not the other way round.
LOL, are you serious? Tens of AA currently move to Africa every year for business purposes or more personal reasons. Some stay permanently, other stay for several years. At first it can be a bit of a struggle adjusting to the change in atmosphere, but like any other people migrating around the world.. you get over it and get on with your goals if you truly seek to achieve them.

You make us out to be a bunch of shallow flakes or something, with all that talk of not wanting to get dark, and maneuver around in the sun. cheesy By the way, west Africa is much more intensely hotter than Central Africa. I've observed the average temperatures of Central Africa, and they are cooler than the mean average experienced in most of the south and South west (including Southern Cali) during the summer and spring, and as you know, MOST AA live in the South and over a million more live in the south-west.

Funny thing is, many African immigrants I've conversed with over the topic of weather here in the US, have stated that summers heat worst than the heat experienced in many parts of Africa, because we have very dry heat here, while in most of central, southern and some parts of eastern Africa it's more moist or temperate. So if the Africans want to hightail out of Africa they need to hand us over their land. We'll gladly take it off your hands.

These are my reasons for now. I'll add more when I think out extra.
You've made a poor case. I know of many AA who if the opportunity was presented, would go in a heart beat. See you need to understand the mindset of the average AA. Many are kind of xenophobic, in that they don't really like to be around people whom are foreign to us, not even white Americans whom we've lived in this land with for over 400 years; so if you ask your average AA if they'd move to Africa to live among the native population there, in their nation, under their rule.. the vast majority will give an resounding HELL NO!! But if you say, would you move to Africa to a nation, created by and for AA void of any natives, then you'd be heavily surprised at the numbers that'll say yes. I'd surmise that several millions would want to come.
PoliticsRe: Soldier Kills Taxi Passenger, Injures Driver In Jos by Blyss: 6:55am On Feb 18, 2013

um no. you were implying that she is African American (because she's engaged to an AA - lmao). She's not. She's Jamaican culturally speaking, nationality wise; etc. 100 percent!! grin
Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said anything about her being 100% AA. I simply said she's more of an AA via her history or life experience here in this nation from the age of like 3 when she came here, till date. The only thing Jamaican about her is the simple fact of that she was born there; everything else about her was experienced via a life living in this nation under the indoctrination of being AA.

I'd bet money on the assumption of that she is less Jamaican at heart than you are, despite the fact of that she is genetically and rightfully more Jamaican than you, whom is only a halfy and where born here and lived here in the US your whole life, pluse your father is the AA parent, thus in Jamaican culture makes you simply AA from what I understand, but could be wrong about that. grin

The Answer to the question is simple. The Horners have very weak genes, because they're stereotypical looks are achieved via Immunol dysfunctions passed into their bloodline via their passed Arab masters, these dysfunctions are often labeled as recessive genes, these recessive genes can survive only when two people whom carry the same spreed of recessive genes come together to create a child.

At least six construction workers, some of them foreigners, have been seized by gunmen who attacked a camp in northern Nigeria, officials say.

One of the workers seized was Italian and at least one other was said to be Lebanese.

But UK officials could not confirm a report that another was British.

No-one has admitted the abductions but the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, has staged a series of attacks in northern Nigeria.

A security guard was reportedly killed as the attackers targeted the workers' camp at Jamaare in Bauchi state.

According to an Associated Press report, as many as seven foreign workers were seized.

One local official told AP the workers were from the UK, Italy, Greece and Lebanon.

An Italian foreign ministry spokesman told Reuters news agency that an Italian man was among the workers who had been taken from the site, run by Lebanese-owned firm Setraco.

A UK foreign office spokesman said it was investigating reports of a Briton being kidnapped. - BBC.

Hardship hits Nigerian troops in Mali as officers solicit food from locals
Nicholas Ibekwe - 20 hours agoNATIONAL, NEWS

Nigeria is expected to send 1,200 soldiers to Mali.
The condition of Nigerian troops in Mali is quickly sliding from bad to worse as inadequate supply of provision is forcing the contingent to solicit food from locals, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively report.
According to a reliable defence source who asked not to be named, the Nigerian contingent solicits food and handouts under the guise of “courtesy calls” to community leaders in Mali.
After one of such courtesy calls on Monday, the troops received a handout of a cow and 50 bags of rice from the Prefect of Tuban in Banamba region.
“Our officers and men have resorted to begging locals for cows and rice for survival,” said the official.
“This is done by way of courtesy calls. They invite the prefects of the locals to our camp for visits. The prefect of Tuban (Banamba Region) visited today (Feb 11) with a cow and 50 bags of rice.”
Last week, PREMIUM TIMES exclusively reported that the initial 162-soldier contingent is suffering severe food shortage and a dip in morale as troops were forced to skip meals.
Our defence insiders said there has been no improvement in the provision of food.
However, the Director for Defence Information, Mohammed Yerima, a Brigadier General in the Army, told our reporter over the telephone that any insinuation of food shortage is not true.
“We have provided the contingent with enough food and fund to last them for the initial three months. Is Nigeria not bigger than that?” he said.
Still in Bamako
Contrary to information from the Ministry of Defence that Nigerian troops are involved in combat and have advanced northward toward the city of Gao, military insiders said the Nigerian contingent is still stationed at the Force Headquarters in Bamako.
We learnt that shortage in armaments has prevented the deployment of soldiers to combat positions. And many soldiers are yet to be paid their monthly sustenance allowance.
Sending troops in piecemeal
As of Monday, there were 210 soldiers in Mali with 70 more billed to join them on Tuesday.
President Goodluck Jonathan promised to deploy 1,200 soldiers as part of Africa-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA) but is having great difficulty meeting up with that number.
Mr. Yerima said the figure we cited is incorrect. But our sources dismissed the denials, saying Mr. Yerima’s job is to make the Nigerian military look good.
“We have over 500 troops in Mali and Niamey (Niger Republic),” he said.
Since we are not reporting on Niger, we had expected him to tell us how many soldiers Nigeria has on ground in Mali.
The Boko Haram insurgency, Niger Delta unrest, and the country’s commitment to the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, have over-stretched the Nigerian Army, senior military sources said.
Read our last week’s detailed report on the hardship troops are facing here.
Damn, so not only are they not fit to put forth a proper fight, they aren't even fit to feed themselves. grin cheesy grin grin Nigeria is an African disgrace. If I were Nigerian, I'd never admit to it.

The same case applies to Syria. The atrocities committed by Ghaddafi is not up to half of that committed by Assad of Syria, but the western nations are only talking of diplomacy... Because they ll gain little by occupying Syria.

P.S: when will MEND conduct their Nuclear test!
Wrong. There is one reason and one reason only that the US hasn't taken out the North Korean regime to date, and that is simply because China is a strong Allie, dear I say.. Overlord of North Korea, and an actual physical altercation with NK will certainly lead to such with China unless the altercation was initiated by the NK themselves. So until NK actually activates a live war, the US will not handle NK.

China on the other hand is becoming more and more sick and tired of babysitting that nation, and really wants out of their relationship with them, but they feel as though they cant afford to do so, because once they do relinquish their alliance, the US will wast no time in taking out their regime and reuniting the two Korea's as an Allie of the US. This will put put the might of the US military right on the Chinese boarder, something in which they obvious don't want to happen.

It's a joint project by the governments of Angola, Botswana, DRC, Namibia and South Africa.

I wonder if Nigeria would capitalize on this, as it's got to affect us somehow. More power in Central Africa means a huge boost for Nigerian multinationals and businesses.
Nigeria was already offered a steak in the project, way back during the OBJ regime, they sounded as though they were interested at the time, in that the dam could easily make up for the shortage in the domestic supply. I guess they backed out of the deal.
