Ok so we're on 44 working days (9 full weeks)

Decided to look at the processing times again and what the hell they have risen to 120 days OMG

Most applications now being processed in 90 working days rather then the 60 it stated before and the 120 is new

So doubt a decision anytime soon then sad

This isn't good. Considering the cost of this application.

Does anyone know of someone that applied using the fast track service. What was the turnaround time like

And dont get me started on the IOM office for the TB test shocked grin ( couldnt differentiate staff from joe public and unwelcoming, i filled hubby's form out and it asked him for a survey...I made some polite suggestions and common courtesy costs nothing)

@Portsmouth86, in relation to medicals , is is just TB test that is required? Also is there requirement to book an appointment with the IOM or is there walk in service.
How long does it take to get the results.

@Portsmouth86. I agree with you. Sometimes you need to have one when something is not going your way. My wife application for her British Passport took almost 2 years. At a point we need to use this lawyer to write to HMPO, only to be told that my application was withdrawn. We fought the HMPO on two fronts and they eventually issued the passport last month.

Believe me , most solicitors have no clue about the EU applications. They confuse it all with UK route. I will advise you do some research on it and prepare your application yourself. A lot that I know that paid solicitors over £1k to help them out ended up being refused because of mistakes made by the solicitors. The rules are so different from the UK immigration and a lot of solicitors are not bothered to read about it.

If you did decide on this option go to your local council, they do it and some don't charge a fee some councils do I was quoted £80 from Havant Borough Council for mine, but decided against it after a lot of questions from @Justwise and other sources

Many thanks , i really doubt I will include this.

Do you live in multi occupant accommodation?

@Portsmouth86, I see your hubby did apply recently. My husband and I are peeping our application. I am the sponsor here in the UK.

Can I ask you please. How did you prove the sufficient accommodation stuff requirement to show there won't be over crowding.

I read HO wants to see property inspection report. ? The surveyor I contacted said it will cost £185 which sounds ridiculous to me

1st step, dating someone living in the United Kingdom.
2nd step, getting married to the person living in the United Kingdom.
Then all other steps shall be added unto you!!!

You are soo funny man. I couldn't stop laughing . It's nice to see people who devote themselves in helping others without charges and still do it in such a fun happy way.

I am told UKBA have changed English requirements for certain applications in Novemver 2015z

Can I please ask what the English test required for spousal application from Nigeria is now called.

I am bemused to hear that highly educated Nigerians are required to prove proficiency in English

From my findings it's seems it's ietls A1 but don't know if this is right , can anyone that is aware of this change or recently applied after the change or about to please confirm .

Many thanks

(1) Do you earn over £16,000 per annum

Yes I earn way over that

(2) Do you have supporting documents and are they all in date(pay slips, bank statement, mortgage deed or rent agreement)?

Yes I have payslips as I am in a permanent employee with same employer for over 5 years. Have monthly paper bank statement from my bank , have rent agreement ,

(3) Documentary proof of communication

We communicate quite a lot via Rebtel and viber. I should be able to get those printed out

(4) Registry marriage certificate

Yes, We did marriage registry at Ikoyi Marriage registry

(5) If previously married (Decree nisi granted)?

Yes

Many thanks for the quick response lexusgs430. Please see my response in bold.

Few questions about proving marriage is genuine. Though we have a newborn together , as per marriage photos we did registry marriage and then did church wedding afterwards and then wedding reception. To avoid confusion, should I just include pictures taken at the registry during the court marriage?

Relating to evidence of sufficient accommodation, is it mandatory to submit this property inspection document . I have just contacted a surveyor and got quoted £185 which I find quite expensive. Not sure what people that have gone through this process did.

Relating to my hubby's supporting documents, should I be submitting that alongside mine here in the UK or is he supposed to submit it at VAC in Nigeria . I am referring to things like his proof of employment , bank statements, proof of address etc... (Does he even need these since I am the sponsor?)

Apologies for the lengthy message

Please can I ask you to advice me on the procedure and supporting documents . I have tried to read as much as possible but actually get confused the more I read. Also what's the processing time like

Thank you all so much for taking your time to help.

6 moths is multiple entry, allowed to stay 90days at once

Justwise, I think you are fantastic but may need to check this one out... UK code C visit visa for both general visitor and family visitor allows the visitor to stay for a max duration of 180 days which is 6 months.

This is irrespective of wether it's a single or multi entry . First applications usually get the 6 months validity .

5 months is far too long, she only allowed to stay maximum of 90days(3months) at one visit, she will be given 6months visa

Tie to Nigeria at her age is not really an issue...she is like a child now being looked after , she need to attach her pension document and any other property/investment she has in Nigeria.

i thought 6 month single entry visa allows stay upto 180 days. is this a new change

I never read such thing before.... people do invite their mums due to having a baby, absolutely nothing wrong with that as long as you can afford it.

Please go ahead and write letter of invitation for her.

You need to be detailed about it.....pointers like:

-Its your first child (So you need all the help you can get)

-The baby is going to be delivered through CS

- Your hubby is not there with you.

- Attach your tenancy agreement to show that you have adequate accommodation for her and the baby

- Payslip and bank statement to proof that you have enough money to sponsor and look after her and the baby.

Don't let anything you read online stop you from inviting her.

you are joy justwise. thank you. u have calmed this headache i am having. i can give them whatever they need. the other thing is that i want her to stay for about 5 month and want to buy the BA return ticket and add to the application to clearly prove she will go back. or do you think thats a very long stay?

also pleaseeee, i read she need to prove ties to Nigeria(seriously?) she is 64 and retired and receive pensions. what will she use to prove ties , her bank statements?

Please where did you read that from because i don't think its true.

i read several posts from people on immigration board forum. these are people that had similar experiences. i searched the internet about people inviting mum due to having a baby. do you know anyone that has invited mum for this reason and was successful.

i will be heavily relieved if i read from people that has gone through similar application

What does your visa say? Do you have access to medical care or is it banned?

i am allowed to live, work , travel freely. ans entitled to free med care . i pay taxes and national insurance . this isnt my question if you read the post well. look at it this way . i am a legal UK resident.

my question is about inviting mum with reason of pregnancy, i have read the EC will think she is coming for child care , which is against visit visa terms . i am really pissed to read about this.

but i dont know how true that is
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by blza: 5:05pm On Mar 27, 2015
please i need your advise. i live in uk and 6+ months pregnant with my first baby due in June. i would like my mum to visit to during the birth. i will be on leave for 9 months so she IS NOT coming to look after baby while i go back to work. i need her help as i live alone.

I am married, but my husband is yet to join me in uk, which will happen after my PR. i currently have retained rights of residence and will qualify for Permanent Residence in 2 months.

I am sick to my stomach after i read that mention of pregnancy as reason for invite leads to rejection. i cannot afford my mum not being here as i am alone and will likely have a CS.

I will sponsor the application , my mum is retired and visited usa some years ago for 3 months without overstaying. please does anyone have experience about inviting mum due to pregnancy.

she wont overstay, please should i avoid mentioning pregnancy in my application and just stick with standard visit( but on what grounds then?) i love being upfront.

please i need urgent advice.
