Business / Re: The CBN Is Winning But Pessimists Still Complain - Dele Sobowale by bnanzip(m): 8:31am On Apr 24, 2017
I went to buy a tricycle day before yesterday and they said it is 670k and I asked if it is a car I wanted buying. They said it is dollar that has gone up and I told the person dollar is no more going up and naira has appreciated so why the increase? They just laughed and I walked out.
Nigerians, the CBN is making efforts to reduce the rates but things will still remain high because we prefer to cheat than to actually do business.

Investment / Re: Which Lucrative Business Can I Start With 500k? by bnanzip(m): 9:03am On Apr 08, 2017
So you think 500k is a lot of money? Turn it to multimillions let us see. I am sure you never got that money through business. If it were through business, you will not open your mouth that you want to make multimillions within months.
Let me help you with a guide in business:
when you invest 10k in business, your likely income will be in hundreds of naira such as 200, 300, or 500 naira.
When you invest 100k, income will be like 1k, 2k, 5k.
When you invest 500k, income will be like 20k, 30k or 50k.
You cannot turn that 500k into millions within months my brother.
It will take like 2 or 3 years before that money will be able to bring in millions for you and you must work very hard to start earning the millions.
The values I gave as income are net profit you will have.
I am just advising you not to fall into any scam. Be patient and give time for your money to grow. Don't rush because you might lose all the money.
This is advice from someone who is having 2 successful businesses and several business failures. Take it or leave. And I am not going to give you a single business to do. Think of a problem that affects people and solve it and make sure you love what you are doing because it might take about 3 or more years before you start earning well from the business.
Bye

If it is GTbank, I can transfer instantly to your bank account but it must not be less than 100 dollars but I will charge you at 500 to a dollar because the bank charges 10 dollars per transaction
Investment / Re: Domiciliary Account Who Has An Idea On How I Can Fund My Account by bnanzip(m): 8:38am On Apr 08, 2017
Just go to any bureau de change operators and buy dollars. Especially 50 or 100 dollars notes because lower denominations are not accepted and some banks may reject it. Go to your bank and tell them you want to deposit into your dom account. Or you can still go to the bank and tell them you need dollars, depending on what you want to do with it, they will sell to you according to the directive from CBN. If is it not in line with CBN directive they will not sell to you and your only option will be Bureau De Change

Politics / Government Policies And Failing Economy Of Nigeria by bnanzip(m): 9:09am On Jan 24, 2017
Wrong Policies by Central Bank of Nigeria
Everyone is expected in Nigeria to have a means of Identity before opening a bank account in Nigeria. This is good in order to prevent fraud. I am not against this. The Central bank allows the use of temporary cards such as the Temporary National Identity card for opening of bank accounts that are in Naira such as savings account but the Central Bank do not permit the Banks to allow the same cards to be used for opening a domiciliary account in dollars, pounds or any foreign currency. In order to open a domiciliary account, you must have a permanent identity card such as the permanent voters’ card, an international passport or the permanent National Identity card.
To understand how this is a wrong policy, read on to see what the other Federal government agencies are doing as regards to issuing the permanent identity cards.

Delay in Issuance of Identity Cards and Missing data
1. The voters’ card is only issued during elections. This means that once you miss the registration, you have to wait for four years during another election before the government will want to do another round of the voters’ registration. This means that even if you have someone abroad that wants to send money for you or you are doing business online that will enable you earn in foreign currencies, that money will have to wait for 4 years. This is how foolish it can be. Because the government only see the voters’ registration as something that only helps them get elected into offices, they will do anything during the elections and after the elections, you are left to your own fate. They think it will not affect them but it is already affecting the economy.
2. For those who are able to register during the elections for the voter’s card, some were able to get the permanent card after about a month or within few weeks while others could not get the card, reason being that their data became erased or was not found again. What happened to it? They cannot explain what happened to the data of those who could not get the card. What then did the government do about it? Nothing! It means therefore, that if you could not get a permanent voter’s card during elections, then try again the next 4 years or just try getting the National Identity card.

The Selfishness Nigeria Banks and their Downfall
Seeing all of this, the banks know and are seeing all that is happening but continue to keep quiet because of selfishness. They know that temporary cards are given and permanent cards take years to be ready but they are not even complaining to the government about it or to push the Central bank so as to allow for the use of temporary cards. Imagine if the same instruction was given to the banks that only permanent cards should be used for savings account; the banks will do everything possible until the policy is reversed; but, because the banks do not want customers to even withdraw the foreign currencies and because they only want any money sent with foreign currencies to be credited into your savings account at the exchange rate that the bank will determine so that they can make the maximum profit out of your own money. When you want to buy products online in dollars, the banks initially charge at an exchange rate that is higher than the stated amount allowed by the Central bank (interbank rate) but when you want to convert a foreign currency to Naira, the bank will exchange again at a lower exchange rate so that they will gain. For this single reason, they will prefer you keep using a savings account than using a domiciliary account and they are not willingly to talk to the CBN about what is happening.

The banks were enjoying their deceptive means of cheating their customers by making the exchange rates to be in their favor and overlooking those who have potentials to bring dollars into the country. Lo and behold the banks had their own share of the bad policies: the CBN gave a directive that the banks must exchange at the interbank rates for all transactions. This means that the banks will allow you pay for online transactions at the amount given by CBN and they cannot go above that. Because of this directive, the Nigeria banks stopped the use of Naira master cards for online payment because it will not be to their favor again. You see how selfish these banks are? Banks that will allow you use the naira Mastercard only allow you use not more than 100 dollars per month such as GTbank.

Failing Economy
Because of these Policies starting from Central bank that just give out directive without knowing what is happening in the country to the government that only care about themselves and not the masses to the Banks that want to cheat on their customers, the economy of Nigeria continues to wallow in shambles and there will be no progress unless these things are checked and corrected.
Remember, this is just one aspect of the many bottlenecks in the economy. I do not know how those under agriculture, transport, housing, health and many more are doing, but I know they may be having similar issues where a Policy is passed without making it easy for people to be able to follow the policy. This is how these problems aggregate together and form a large part that the whole economic system of the country becomes stagnant.

Foreign Affairs / Yahya Jammeh Declares State Of Emergency In Gambia by bnanzip(m): 6:06am On Jan 18, 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj2YSDN9wJU
He decried "extraordinary" foreign interference in his country's affairs and December's election.
Regional leaders have been unsuccessfully trying to persuade Mr Jammeh to hand over power to Adama Barrow, who won the polls.
The move comes after Nigeria deployed a warship to put further pressure on Mr Jammeh to step down.
Regional bloc Ecowas, the Economic Community of West African States, has prepared a Senegal-led force but maintains that military intervention would be a last resort.

In his televised announcement, Mr Jammeh said "any acts of disobedience to the laws The Gambia, incitement of violence and acts intended to disturb public order and peace" are banned under the state of emergency.
He said security forces were instructed to "maintain absolute peace, law and order".
The state of emergency, which is supposed to last 90 days, bans "acts of disobdience" and "acts intended to disturb public order".

Earlier, the National Assembly passed a motion condemning what it called the "unlawful and malicious interference" of the African Union and the country's neighbour, Senegal, in The Gambia's affairs.

Ministerial resignations
Mr Barrow, a property developer, is meant to be inaugurated as the new president on Thursday. His spokesperson expressed shock and sadness at the declaration, says the BBC's Umaru Fofana in Banjul, the capital.
It is remains unclear if a curfew is being imposed, our correspondent says.
Mr Jammeh initially accepted the election results but then decided he wanted them annulled after the electoral commission admitted some errors, although it insists this did not affect the final outcome.
The Supreme Court is unable to hear the challenge until May because of a shortage of judges, and Mr Jammeh has said he will not step down until then.

At least three Gambian ministers, including the foreign minister, have resigned in recent days. Thousands of Gambians have also fled to Senegal, and further afield to Guinea-Bissau, amid fears of violence.

BBC Africa security correspondent Tomi Oladipo says the Nigerian warship is being deployed to put on a show of strength rather than to launch an attack.
A military source says that the vessel - the NNS Unity - is currently sailing off the coast of Ghana.
Senegal is leading Ecowas' standby regional force and is also preparing its ground troops ahead of Thursday's deadline.
The Gambia's small army is not expected to put up a fight in the event of an intervention, but even if it did, its forces would be quickly overrun, our security correspondent says.
In the December polls, Mr Barrow won 43.3% of the vote compared with Mr Jammeh's 39.6%. A third candidate, Mama Kandeh, got 17.1%.
Yahya Jammeh seized power in the tiny West African country in 1994 and has been accused of human rights abuses, although he has held regular elections.
The African Union has said it will no longer recognise Mr Jammeh's authority after his term ends. Mr Barrow is currently in Senegal.

Mourning president-elect's son after dog attack

There has been an outpouring of grief over the death of Mr Barrow's eight-year-old son - and many Gambians on social media have been changing their profile photos to his image to show their sympathy.
Habibu Barrow died in hospital after being bitten by a dog on Sunday at his aunt's house in Fajara, a coastal resort near Banjul. He was mauled by the dog and sustained a head injury.
Many residences in Fajara, an upmarket area, have security dogs to ward off intruders.
Mr Barrow was unable to attend Monday's funeral as he intends to remain in neighbouring Senegal until his return on Thursday for his swearing-in. But his second wife Sarjo, Habibu's mother, was there along with her two other children.
Since Mr Jammeh announced he was contesting the vote on 9 December, Mr Barrow, a devout Muslim with two wives, moved his children to stay with relatives for safety.
