I personally think the timing is wrong, moreover N40billion can address many issues presently instead of printing new notes. |
That is not a bad idea.but our leaders always fail to carry on with policies of their predecessors...just hope his successor will make it a priority before 2020. |
Mr. Sanusi said the plan was aimed at enhancing the quality of banknotes, incorporating effective feature for the visually impaired and more importantly, minimizing the cost of production, distribution and disposal of banknotes... Is the CBN right to introduce this policy into the economy ?. Please share your thought. |
I knew right from the onset that the merger was only a dream. |

Prominent Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has been in the news over his verbal battle with some Northern leaders whom he has blamed severally for complicating Nigerian problems under this present administration. Chief Clerk yesterday again, confronted his critics in another war of words, saying that at 85, he was not seeking any kind of relevance in the nation. Clerk who lambasted his critics over their comment that he was only talking so as to get the attention of the nation as well as Jonathan, said those who made such comment would need to go back to history and find out that he had been a very relevant figure in the country years back, and that he couldn’t be looking for any kind of attention at the age of 85. Receiving a group from Delta State under the aegis, Anioma Agenda led by its Chairman, Mr. Alex Onwuadiamu at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, Clerk affirmed that Dr. Junaid Mohammed and others have insulted him for making an unremarkable comment about him. Also speaking on the 2015 race in Delta state, Clerk had affirmed that there was no second class citizen in the state, hence every tribe I Delta state have the right to produce a candidate as far as the election is concerned. “We are all one in Delta State, everybody is entitled to be governor in Delta, there is no second class citizen; once you are qualified, you are free to contest. We need love, we must love one another. If we are fair and we exhibit equity, there will be no reason for Ika South or Ika East because everyone is Ika, it is a political division, there must be no differences. You have the right to fight for your right and if you don’t fight, you don’t exist; some people should not be denied what they are entitled to,” he said. In a reaction to the statement and claims by some people who said that the country will not exist until the president comes from a particular region of the country, Clerk said, “Let no one present Nigeria as if anyone is adopted. If we are fair in this country, we will not worry where the President of this country comes from, so no one should say that if they are not president, Nigeria will not exist. “I don’t care whatever anyone says. At 85, I am not looking for money, when I was already relevant; some of these people were not born. I am not seeking relevance because Jonathan is President, it is an insult; I am not seeking relevance, Jonathan or no Jonathan, I am there and already relevant, I have become very relevant even before he became the Vice President of this country. I am mentally alert, I am strong, not senile. “If anyone occupies Jonathan’s position, if he is being harassed, intimidated, no matter where the person comes from, I will stand and speak in the person’s favour. I am not a child in this country seeking relevance; I was a senator, a minister, a commissioner, chairman of various boards, an activist, I was a member of Zikist movement both in Nigeria and London; I have played prominent roles in this country. So at 85, I can’t be seeking relevance.” Prominent Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has been in the news over his verbal battle with some Northern leaders whom he has blamed severally for complicating Nigerian problems under this present administration. Ijeoma Obasi: The Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has rubbished the police investigation into his aide’s killing, dismissing as “inconsistent” police investigation that embarrassingly led to the arrest of suspects different from those arrested by the Department of State Security.am not suprised.the SSS remains the most reliable security outfit in the country and I never doubted them when this Saga was on.I will countinue asking God to shower them and other security agencies more wisdom in maintaining peace in the Nation. |
The 23-year-old has been forced into ending his career early after advice from doctors regarding his health, but remained thankful for all the support he has received The former Arsenal, Birmingham and Bolton man had been hopeful of returning to professional football after making encouraging early signs of recovery, however after being advised by doctors to give up the game he has decided to confirm his retirement. In a statement on the club's official website he said: “Since suffering my heart attack and being discharged from hospital, I have remained utterly positive in the belief I could one day resume my playing career and play for Bolton Wanderers once again. “As part of my on-going recovery, last week I travelled to Belgium to seek further medical advice from a leading cardiologist. “But the news I received was obviously not what I had hoped it would be and it means I am now announcing my retirement from professional football. “Football has been my life since I was a teenage boy and it has given me so many opportunities. "Above all else, I love the game and count myself very lucky to have been able to play at the highest level. “While the news is devastating, I have much to be thankful for. “I thank God that I am alive and I pay tribute once again to the members of the medical team who never gave up on me. “I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my career, and the Bolton fans who have been incredible. “I am blessed to have the support of my family and friends at this time.” |
This agency no doubt in recent time have taken it upon themselves roles supposed to be played by the police and other security agencies.they remain the reason why I still have confidence that terrorism will soon be nibbed in a box in no distant time...I pray God to provide them and other security agencies the needed wisdom in maintaining peace and unity in the country. |
lorddannie: please and please stop misquoting the president, you have consider the context in which the statement was made and also learn respect.would you call your father or parent that name, because some die hard suicide bombers and traitors are making it seems the govt is not working. even in the hot places where the bombs go off, they dont falsely push blames to the presidents because they know what the suicider bombers are seeking to achieve. am not speaking for GEJ, but his enemies actually want him to react as you expect, roll in the tanks and demolish places for them to have good reasons for civil war and senseless mayhem. the challenges before this nation is very sensitive having regional, political, tribal and religious undertone.@lorddanie,why waste ur time on that terrorist(DEMDEM) ?. Don't you know that he is playing his masters card. Thats how he earns a living o, he must impress his evil master na.so just let the blood sucking vamp be |
Mavrick2012: i hav observed @demdem coments, dis dude is a card carryin memba of BBN(buhari-bokoharam-north)@marvirick,good observation.DEMDEM always sympathizes with BOKO HARAM and their sponsors .from every indication,he is a terrorist. |
Indeed this a fair and educating piece.we just have few persons who are committed to national peace and unity.this terrorists are gaining more sympathizers daily.we sure need to put this into our heads. #God bless Nigeria . |
Hmmm ,they say they are fighting for the masses and they don't care if a civil war errupt.Hahaha na DINO go dey war front?.i know all of them instigating violence will just find their way to a foreign country via chartered flight with all their loot and will only return to later enjoy peace.they can only deceive fools. |
So Bakare can install a president yet he can't install himself and BOKOHARAMs sponsors.he has totally lost focus... https://www.nairaland.com/999684/where-bakare-got-it-wrong |
Hmm ,don't think you know what you are bargaining for.well you can read this https://www.nairaland.com/1012549/why-nigerians-must-not-perish |
My anger is that he is proud of it. |
I don't just know where we are heading to in this country.so some persons are enjoying the spate of violence and terror facing our beloved country because they believe they are only meant to champion the nation's affairs...#God is watching o! |
Olaolufred: What of if he gives you Power and you die the following month?Olaolufred wot is killing you next month?.insecurity is only prevalent the northern part of Nigeria because they gave birth to it and have refused to expose them to security agencies...it will soon consume them one after the other.such bullshit can not thrive in the south na...I noticed a development in power supply,it deserves commendation but more needs to be done. |
In recent time many Nigerians and foreigners have advocated for the disintegration of Nigeria which I know is not the best solution in ending the security challenges been faced in the country, especially that of terror.i am optimistic that many Nigerians who witnessed the last Biafra-Nigeria civil war will not want either a repetition or a replica of such. Having given the issue of disintegration a second thought, because it is bound to be bloody and traumatic, other attributed factors are as follows: - loss of lives and destruction of properties will be recorded; - millions of those who may likely survive it will be displaced, while many others will be forced to seek refugee status around the subregion and many of those burgeoises instigating this disintegration won't be in he battle field, they will seek solace in foreign countries with all their wealth, the poor will fight and die and the burgeoises will return to enjoy peace; - there will be wide spread poverty and the living standards will fall which will be greeted by malnutrition and starvation especially among the poorer segment of the society; - arms will be proliferated which will lead to a breakdown of laws and orders, tribal armed battles will occur regularly and human rights will be violated. Record has it that the civil war in Liberia with a population of 22million people, more than 2million people were displaced with 4million people dead. We must really learn to live as a people or we will perish as fools |
It's totally. False,for more info, check :https://www.nairaland.com/1011597/false-alarm-no-bomb-blast |

Omo_Tier1: Finally people are beginning to see the stupidity in the whole security apparatus in Nigeria! How on earth can the SSS and Police parade two different sets of people accused of committing the same crime? I mean, the SSS parade a gang in Abuja, while the Police in Benin City paraded another gang whom they alleged confessed to haven committed the crime!U no dey folo event o my broda.the sss said they caught them in Edo state and are parading them in Abuja.they were not caught in Abj. ![]() |
Even then I still believe Nigeria 'shall' be saved from the hands of these 'beast of humans'
