I wonder why Nigerians allow themselves to be used and why they just let their overzealous actions and wrongly chanelled passions cloud their sense of judgment. I wonder why Nigerians can not even sit down to think, why they can't process an information independently and without bias. When will they reason that Master Card is an internationally acceptable financial institution that enables you withdraw with the card anywhere in the world, with e transactions and all. So all our ATMs, when they carry Mastercard Logo, it means their ownership and authority is challenged? All master card is on it for is to show that it is a financially acceptable platform/card for transaction and it definitely must carry their brand name somewhere. You might start comparing and saying U.K doesn't do such with their Nat I.D, U.S doesn't do such wiv theirs, well this is different, those ones aren't eCards and can't transact, this can.The mastercard inclusion is just to make it acceptable for transactions locally and internationally.Yes, not everybody will need that but they can never do it differently for some, so definitely, every1's card is branded. The fear of anyones data being open to all is laughable, definitely, the only thing anyone will see is whateva the NIMS wants you to see, you go to the embassy, the only detail they see wiv ur NIN is what is programmed for them to see, the same in your bank, and so on, so nobody's data is being open to anyone. This is a giant stride by the National Identity Management Commission and not the President. Nigerians just like to channell their daily frustration into any and everything that is being done in the country, good or bad. I hope people sit down to reason and not tow in the line of people who just want to bring down what an opposition does by all means and when they raise issues like this pple just fall into that thought without even critically analyzing the situatiuation. I am no politician nd I'm for no party, I just support something good. |
sanjo8630: @ mowin, thank so much for that, pls how are you so sure that more induction are still on the way?..... More are on the way... Nimc is collecting abt 1600 staff by January to join d local government areas, so there's still hope for those who haven't been called.... Njoy. |

..... LoooooL! Stupid crip! We go catch for bbm! // + dear friends, while I'm not Avast to ur prayers nd Vigils nd great hopes nd aspirations, I'm nt calling myself anyfin or puting my self in d position where what I'm sayin is God! However, when I say some things, pls remove from ur mind that its a rumour, ear to ear jjist or speculation! Uld hear frm nimc sooner than is even thought!.. Ur hopes wld neva b cut short! Good luck peeps |
Calling of ppl happens anytime soon, ur patience would soon b compensated...Good luck friends |
Mowin: Hello House, as things stands, it is very obviouse that Nimc has suprised everyone by this long delay. We almost forgot that Nimc is under the presidency of the federa Gov. of Nig. due 2 the fact that they changd the way the game was being played. However, every commission falls under the same federal policy. Someone said it b4 that funds may be whats stoping Nimc frm issueing APL; I thought the person was straying until my doubt was cleard.. I have cofirmed that funds is the issue from a reliable source.. I stay in FCT nd nimc Hdqutrs is about N150 frm my house. So while waiting, uncross ur fingers nd get engaged with some other positive things to keep body nd soul 2gether. All those interviewd will get the Apl, but it may linger till next yr(some may get it earlier than others). Moreso, Nimc has intensified efforts on plans 2 establish local gov erolment centres accros the country by meeting with ALGON representatives frm each of the 36 states of the federation. So the project is very much on coarse. The delay is for our own gd. So lets be positive about it.. As for me, I have already kickstarted my plan B since I got the info.. Godbless... All true as stated bro..... Xcept that it won't take as long as U have painted it cos theyld b called in batches, nd so Apls of some mite take longer than others, buh it starts soon...!! God bless u Bro! Nd all that await letters! Good luck.. |
brosiye99: The way FG works is not as you are insinuating. even though NIMC is a special commission under the Presidency, it does not mean they can always have access to money just like that. Yearly allocations and budgets are made for different ministries, parastatal and commissions even if they are revenue generating ones like FIRS, Customs etc. Therefore, if their allocation is exhausted for the year, nothing much can be done about it till the next budget cycle. Mind you with the salary review that is being done and the huge numbers to be employed, the salaries and emoluments would gulp billions in one full year. right now it is the capital votes part of the NIMC budget that is being expended on building and completing and furnishing new offices nationwide.(i know a contractor that is currently supplying furnishing and security doors right now to state offices. So in summary, the money they have now is being expended in putting in place critical infrastructure, equipment to drive the project. not much can go into recurrent expenditure such as salaries apart from for current staff.... Ure Very informed bro!! The truth is, until Many/ all of U start working in govt circles( which by Gods grace uld have the chance to) b4 u understand d workings of govt jobs.. Right now, there is no establishment that wld employ u, that parry u till Nov. Wen theyld b arranging fresh funds for d new workers nd add them all into d nxt budget... That's the only thing stopping them for now, nd its all for ur good in a way... Cos its d same u datld critisize dem if dey tel u to kip comin to work without giving u pay... If u did d interview, put ur mind @ rest....Ppl would even start hearing anytime nd any moment that they've strted calling for APls... Tho in batches! Good luck yall |
brosiye99: As a lot of posters have said, we may still have a few months of wait before we get APL's. truth is money is the factor why this delay is on. A staff i know said it is in the next budget cycle that we would be accommodated. at least submission of budgets would happen by October to to be presented to national assembly. from the nature of the NIMC budget to be presented, we would know our fate. at least i would keep an eye on the budget of NIMC for the next FY 2014.that's the main reason bro. They d not want u coming to work nd spending without being paid! B4 payment can happen, itld b around november. Buh that's y the call for appointment letters wld spread from now till november. With candidates called to come for their Apls ( wld b called in batches tho) .... So they're merely helping to push everything to when theyl hav d power to take Care of Candidates well! So do not fret, d time is here. |
swit4real: @bobbydbobo How would you affirm that all that were interviewed will get the Job. what then was the reason foя the interview if not to find the best fit. I understand you are giving us hope which I acknowledge that most of us will make it,but it can not be every body.my bro, I'm nt tryn to raise ur hopes... I'm telling u wasup! That's wasup.. Good luck! |
Proudly_Naija: pls affirm ur statement , do u really mean 2 say all called 4 interview, or u meant 2 say all called 4 trainin wil b employ?... Affirmative!!! Yeah! All called for d interview.... |
CALCULUS BRAINZ: jst been caled 4 APL on 2/9/13 in a privat sch dt pays 85k 4 which u must serve 4 atleast 2yrs be4 u quit odawise u pay d skuu 4mth salary. i'm also part of nimc trainee awaitin APL. What shud i do in dis case?...... Calculus; @ d Eve of great things, such temptations arise... Let all dat were called for interview fear not. Theyld all be employed. Laugh at this or believe it, that's d truth. Buh pple wld b called for APL in batches which wld xtend from btw dis week nd next week up to November.... So calculus, fear not, its a matter of waiting just a little longer....its worth d wait. |
Well, btw now and abt 1 week nd half, xpect to b caLled for training/ apl letters nd apl letters for sum who didn't even do d training buh got intrviewed. |
onye ego: We have a law against cultism, the police should arrest them n put them behind bars.looools, that's very true, won't say lubbish tho. Ruggedly. |
manifest1: People what can I do?I just discovered that my Primary School cert is no longer where I use to keep it with my other certs. What is the implication as regards the NIMC interview?Who else has been in a similar situation regarding a Federal job and please what did you do?get an affidavit |
mitwitdot: Dude you simply don't know what you are talking about...if your argument is how strategic the functions of NIMC are, then what do you say about the Nigerian police force that was underfunded for decades; is police force not strategic? You should never compare NIMC to FIRS, these commissions differ in a lot of ways...if you are still in doubt, I encourage you to visit NIMC Lagos office at Alausa and ask the level 8 staff, if they are making 120 per month...they will laugh you to scornthere is rili no need for argument. If u read my post well, uld have seen I mentioned that much recently is wen they assumed certain roles nd not d time twas known for identity card functions. + after all I mentioned in my post, if all the functions it is charged with doesn't sound like its very important in helping the govt nd makes it specialised then ure a novice. Nd the way I sound, does it look like I'm talking without knowledge of what I'm saying Nb: oyo state govt alone saved 8billion naira in a year from ghost workers...work the statistics nd all other things I mentioned and uld understand, ulld understand. |
kevoh: That's just the truth, if the federal parastatal is not generating any revenue on it's own like NCC, SEC, NNPC et al expect 50k as your salary.we'll, I hope I help cure some ignorant quotes here. B4 nimc came into place, twas d national identity card function alone they were performing.. Now, few years back, things changed nd the changes are continous.. Nimc is being treated as a special commision now, cos it will generate more for the government by reducing fraud nd help in social security cases. All military nd paramilitary will coordinate with nimc cos that's where the identity of all nigerians will be, so in combating crime, the security agencies willl hav to luk upto nimc to supply them information. Also, all jobs wld b run thru them to avoid ghost workers cos once ur data appears on the system, ure known. Also,in terms of voting and all, theyld play the centre role., this and many more make it a special commission under the presidency. Wen I tel u its abt 120, I knw wah I'm saying, nd it is even still being reviewed upwards.. NB: all those who putt in their data to register for the employment: u cn neva comit any fraud wiv ur name or anyfin again, cos it was also to get the data of nigerians of which youths are the most. Nimc aint an ordinary federal job @ the moment.. With the functions put to it, consider it in d likes of FIRS .. |
alasuomowei: Please I was asked to come with Certification of Origin, can I use Local Govt identification Letter ?means the same thing.. Ur LG identification wld def point out ur state of Origin.... Its the same thing . Good luck |
sholajohn: 150k 4 what nowwell, I'm telling u that right now, their pay is btw 120 nd 130 k... Nd that is the amount that is even being reviewed upwards now cos of nimc being a special commission... 50k was way back.... |
Btw 120 and 130k |
cherrykim: Has anybody that applied for Local coordinator in Oyo state or any other State received a text.. I applied for Local Govt Coordinator, nd I'm frm oyo state.. Haven't been sent the msg... Hav u? + Its like they're stil on enrolment officers nd al |
Thanks so much OP, however, I cn tell u categorically that btw now and nextweek, they shld start sending msgs.... Latest end of month, buh cnt even b that long......+ those of u talkin about senators and all, its normal, if ure also in d Civil service system, ulld knw this, cos wen ure an assistant director or director sef, uld b given slots... So definitely, the senators, reps, etc wld hav their slots, buh this does not in anyway affect the fact that there wld b a merit list..... The slot( discretionary list) is just to add up to the merit not asif it affects u... |
Katsumoto: That is not completely true but I apologize nonetheless for any derogatory remarks against your person.. Now if scholarly intercourse, and resppect for one anothers views seeing things from eachothers perspective without hatred like u nd AmC10 have exhibited is emulated by others on nairaland, it would b a happy site to visit cos I'm seeing such intellectual respect for one another on Nairaland for the first time.... Afterall, it is the mark of an educated mind, to entertain a thought without necessarily accepting it. |
Andre Uweh: ignore the half literate boy. Woow! Mr Andrew! The total child, the Mr literate, however, in ur utterance u just exihibited ur folly,.I'm known not to b a tribalist, all I do is state out the obvious fact and I also do that as a historian or wiv ma interel knowledge. Its also on the obv ious that uve come here to feast from others and top up ur knowledge wiv d question u asked "who declared d war?"...Well, its just a fact that Ojukwus demand after the accord was unconstitutional cos Gowon met other demands except that which was wrong and unconstitutional. He (ojuwkwu)also declared that the oil revenue be put in their coffers rather than it going to the purse of the nation as was the custom. In all spirit of objectivity, should such demands be met..? I dare say again, that everything that befell the biafra, without bias, was the handy work of the rebellious Ojukwu(rest in peace) and his cohorts |
Its so sad how sentimental, un-objective and ill informed some pple sound at times, even the educated ones among us.. A nation exists, and a pple within the nation decide to seceed which is a pure act of rebellion, and then u blame the Nation for tryn to bring back the rebels into the Union?? All thoe who served as military officers and leaders under biafra, should ordinarily have been put to death for a host of crimes like treason, conspiracy, felony, nd war crimes. War crimes doesn't have to be crimes u inflicted on others, it could b what u inflicted on ur own pple, which the leaders of biafra did. Gowon in his benevolence, and love for the union, like Abrahamlincoln in the American Civil war, declared "no victor, no vanquished". Pardoning those rebels. It is now uneducative to say that the nation commited a crime. And until u come to terms with the fact that Awolowo or the Yorubas neva commited an offence, it was Nigeria that was acting, a nation nd not this individuals.. Awolowo(rest in peace) made sure that all ibo assets in the SW were intat and payment to necessary quaters were made and backdated. Its so funny how some fore fathers sumwhere hav altered history for their mischievous reasons and have stired up strife btw every1.. U kip talkin abt Awolowo being the betrayer, have u forgotten so soon that Zik just in a bid to spite Awolowo, after both reached an agreement and Awo even decided to b his vice, went to meet balewa, to spite Awo and both took the reins of power. Awolowo, all thru is still refered to as the best president nigeria neva had, wonder y in his death, the Germans and Americans scrambled to have his brain taken to b understudied in their lab abroad, which was declined by his family. Ojukwu(rest in peace) all his life was grateful to Nigeria for pardoning him for all his crimes. It is wrong to come here and assert that bringing a set of rebels back into the fold is a crime. Rather ,it was the other way round |
Ihedinobi: A few questions then:. Well its of worth to note like sum1 rightly replied u, that d failure of european nations to pay their debts to US for their aid in d 1st world war, made US retreat into isolationism. However, the united states saw britain, a strong ally falling(though not the main reason) they decided to aid britain and abandon neutrality. The first thing was to appropriate a large amount(about 7billion) to lend weapons nd other aids to them.,( an avenue to have (an after war economic buoyancy). The Ussr however joined against Germany due to the fact that Germany broke the Molotov-ribbentrop pact, this pact was a non aggression treaty, in an event of war and also the joint share of parts of poland and eastern europe, this was comfortable for Ussr as it felt it didn't nid to go to war with either of the warring parties and still have eastern Europe as a sphere of influence. This feeling got sour when Germany took over spheres of influence that belonged to USSr in eastern europe and even attacked ussr. The funny thing thre however was that despite the alliance wiv USSr, d US had their plans due to the fact that Ussr was still not trusted, from time immemorial for basically ideological reasons and its manifestations, like the Molotov ribbentrop pact. Ussr was strategiCally made to bear the brunt of the war by giving it a position where they lost so much soldiers compared to US, also, the end of the war brought 2 things, 1 : a bipolar world, making the US and the USSR strong and rich from the war, and also brought a mutual mistrust for both ideologies were in conflict. Us therefore in a bid to strengthen European nations that were vulnerable to communism and to avoid the "Domino effect, assisted these nations through the Truman doctrine and the marshall plan, forms of containment policy to curb the influence of Ussr. The bombing of hiroshima nd nagazaki also had a significant effect, the birth of Arms race and Nuclear weapons race btw d two countries, bringing about the Mutual assured destruction in an event of an all out nuclear war, leaving nations to alternative weapons of war : Detterence! That Ushered in the cold war... NB: pple kip repeating the statement that Nuclear bombs were used on hiroshima and nagazaki. This is wrong! There has neva been a nuclear war or usage on one another, all these nations know the effect and implication that's y they make use of detterence nd strong diplomacy. The bombs that were used were atomic bombs. God forbid an all out nuclear war... Nd for those comparing US nd NKs capabilities, its just so funny. If the US want to wipe NK out, theylld do it with no sweat, biliv it or not, but both won't do it, such aggressive disturbances are known to happen few times over a long period of time. |
@ sn3xx: pls send ur number . Wana call u. There's sumfin very important nid to talk to u about. |
I rili biliv nd now more convinced than ever, that there shld b screening before being allowed here on nairaland!!!! Cos this place is now getting meaningless where u can't have objective speakers, meaningful and scholarly reasoning/argument nd tribal free sane men.. Everything to most pple here is tribalism, war, hatred nd to crown it all, Folly! Sum1 even complaining y the man was being moved from one ministry to the other.. If u work wiv the civil service or know their dealings, ulld knw than ones u are in the ministry, ulld me moved from ministry to ministry nd even b4 u et to the top, uld have toured virtually all ministries, this helps to produce seasoned administrators. Buh to some pple everything must just b wrong, even there must be evil in every sane action to sum pple here...... Shior! |
Every sane person knows that the woman just spoke the truth. Howmany pple can without looking back, describe the man/woman that just passed by him/her. Even the colour of the clothes the person put on can't be remembered. So tell me, wen we don't take note of such things, how do we know the persons clothes is weighty than usual nd deduce there's a bomb under his top, wen we don't take note, ow do we know this person carried a box, bag, briefcase or sack that looks suspiscious?? We must all join hands to fight the menace for truly, its a joint effort. |
Its always disheartening seeing the strong force of the nation, the one voice of the nation, the changers(WE)come here and topple serious talks with tribal wars, hatred, ill feeling, reeling disgust for eachother. Just think about over a million voices. Coming to agree on a thing, irrespective of tongues and tribes, some pple who are to b respected also based on tribal sentiments colour the truth.. The problem is not just the leaders, the problem is the allegiance to tribe b4 nation which cn neva make d nation move foward cos thereld always b mutual suspiscion... If some comments were made 50 yrs ago, itld pass, buh now, at this AGE, where we are all learned"at least to a point", some pple cn still advocate for or make insighting comments that cn push the nation to a point of no return through a war. No nation can survive a revolution/civil war twice; Every Revolution/war consumes the starters and leaves nothing to build on in the near future leaving a Curse of strife for generations unborn. In an age where we pity nations, like sudan, somalia, liberia at its time, Congo during her time, and others, where we cn easily check the net to see the devastations, yet some chant WAR!! At all cost. U emulate the arab spring u take a "cue" from them believing if that doesn't happen the nation cnt change, Well the Cue is a path to destruction cos in such an event, none can recover in time. Cnt we even see the picture that we are being pushed by forces behind the scene to just start a war?? Nd I tell u, if something starts in d east today, that's it! The Catalyst! We won't recover from what is to come... If out of the large population in Nigeria, if only those on nairaland think like this, nd have this at the back of their mind, I repeat Only those on Nairaland, on such a day, Nigeria has progressed by 30percent. Yorubas-Cowards, ibos- cowards/ trouble makers,Hausas--Religious Mad men! Wen will such name calling stop, wen wld we move past this, wen wld we progress and jointly declare a thing? When we see ourselves as Nigerians and knw the fact that no man is an island, we need eachother to form a strong force no nation can beat in the continent and outside d continent. Some powers know this nd that's y they're tryn to burst our bubble. Nations like US know the significance and importance of Numbers and the power attached to it. SO |
can your father remember what year he started working?if no,then you dont deserve to criticise that creature or is it not PASS most of this yeye gradute dey carry comot for skul now. APLOKO[/quot. Bless U mission 231..... Short nd wise comment!!! + nice name(mission 231).... SO |
Airforce1:. Must every Quote u pple make on this site b tribal? Must u transfer ur frustrations to everything and every1? Instead of u all as the Youth and backbone of d nation, joining hands to agree on a common thing, u loose ur heads on flimsy rifts which u immediately interprete tribally! Since u want to go down that line, y don't u inquire from historians nd let them let u knw the real nd true betrayer was Azikwe who knew that he pairing with Awolowo would move the country foward but just to spite him(after Awolowo met him and even agreed that Zik should b the head), he paired with Balewa instead and this ZIK regretted all the days of his life!!! |
It is not wrong to say that Nigerians are frustrated and are unhappy about situations plaguing the country, however, it is not to say that we must let our frustrations cloud our reasoning nd do away with objectivity when needed. 1st question: in all honesty, how many of ur fathers know/knew the website of their companies/establishments (of course less than two percent)? Of course it is left for the younger ones who are ict compliant to handle.. And the truth is they don't have a buisness with their website while they are in service, they have other things doing nd necessarily don't have any buisness wiv their site, its u who is lukin for an appointment that has business with that. When u were in school, howmany of u knew the account numbers where freshers were to pay their fees xcept u had business with that.2 : he just revealed the civil service bureaucratic system, where there's much "red tapism", nd there's always sum1 @ d Apex, who ure answerable to and is @ d tp of d chain of command, where u must b careful not to implicate him with ur wrong words or infact sometimes, right words, which ever 1, that's the system, whether u like it or not, that's how it is in even numerous establishments. So pls let objectivity b revealed in our line of thoughts not looking for sum1 to transfer our anger and frustration on. Thanks |

Nb: oyo state govt alone saved 8billion naira in a year from ghost workers...work the statistics nd all other things I mentioned and uld understand, ulld understand.
