Peter Obi should not be campaigning for the failure LP presented as candidate.

The mandate thief should be explaining why his son is a manhood thief in the UK, roaming around the country, looking for sperm to drink.
Coldspice, these individuals you are defending don't care about your existence. They have stolen your future and that of your children's.

Gbajabiamila should not be seen campaigning; rather, he should be cooling his heels at the nearest police station and EFCC office, explaining the role he played in embezzling money meant for the poor, which led to the suspension of Betta Edu.

AnonPoet:
The Federal High Court in Abakaliki on Thursday, February 1, nullified the candidacy of Silas Onu as the PDP candidate for the Ebonyi South senatorial bye-election scheduled for 3rd of February.

Ruling on the matter, Justice Hyeladziya Ngajiwa affirmed that the party failed to conduct the required three-man ad-hoc and one-man national delegates who were mandated to vote in the primary election.

The Court, therefore, ordered the immediate removal of Onu’s name from the INEC portal.

PoliticsShelve 2027 Ambition, Allow Younger People To Run – Bode George Tells Atiku by Bobloco(op): 4:08am On Feb 02, 2024
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, has appealed to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to shelve his 2027 presidential ambition and allow younger Nigerians to run.

George made this appeal in an interview on Arise Television on Thursday.

According to George, Atiku would be 81 years old in 2027, and he would be too old at the time to govern the country.

The PDP chieftain noted that Atiku should be like a big uncle in the room, mentoring the younger ones instead of thinking about contesting in 2027.

George said, “My brother Atiku Abubakar was 77 years old last year, and by 2027 he will be 81 years old. Atiku should give room for younger Nigerians, who still have the energy and the brain to develop the country.

“Atiku should be in a situation where he plays like the big uncle in the room or the elder in the room.

“What would anybody carry me now to do because I’m heading to 80 years old and I want to go and be a minister? To do what?

“Let’s mentor the younger generation, and let’s be consistent with our strong belief in our party norms.

“No other party is as entrenched and national in all concepts as the PDP. In 2027, I can’t tell anybody not to contest, but our party must be definitive that the presidency must remain in the South since the North has finished its eight years,” he said.

Meanwhile, George also described the security situation in the country as “horrendous and heartbreaking.”

He called on President Bola Tinubu to call a meeting of retired military officers to devise solutions to tackle the current security challenges.

The PDP chieftain charged Tinubu to wake up and confront insecurity, saying he feels pity for the president for the “deluge of crises” before him.

According to George, the high level of insecurity has further underscored the need to have a state police, and “Tinubu must not shy away from that.”

George said, “We are failing on security, and I want to call on the President to invite all elders to come for a discussion. The issue of insecurity has become a national calamity.

“The president has to wake up. I pity him because he has this deluge of crises. Unfortunately, he cannot complain because it is the same party that is in power.

“The issue of insecurity can be resolved if those in power are honest and committed. The whole nation is in a state of quagmire. This is not an issue of the APC or PDP; everybody is affected.”

EducationRe: Again, Student Loan Misses January Deadline by Bobloco(op): 3:17am On Feb 02, 2024
Apart from plunging the entire nation into extreme hardship, what exactly has Tinubu been able to achieve since May 2023?
EducationAgain, Student Loan Misses January Deadline by Bobloco(op): 3:09am On Feb 02, 2024
Disappointment has continued among students and parents over the delayed launch of the student loan scheme, despite assurance from the federal government that it will commence disbursement of the education loans in January 2024.

The student loan, which was anticipated as a new chapter in accessible education by indigent students, has been overshadowed by persistent delays, leaving aspiring students and their families in a state of uncertainty as the government, again failed to meet the January deadline.

President Bola Tinubu had in June 2023 signed into law a bill to establish a Students Loan Fund (SLF) to provide interest-free loans to Nigerians seeking higher education.

The bill, sponsored by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, was initially planned to begin between September and October 2023.

After failing to meet the October deadline last year, Tinubu then announced that his government would commence the disbursement of student loans to Nigerians by January 2024.

Towards the end of January, the government also affirmed its position that the loan scheme would commence, with plans to ensure timely access to the credit facility within 30 days.

Minister of state for education, Yusuf Sununu, confirmed that preparations were completed for the scheme to begin, including the finalisation of the Student Loan scheme website and the conclusion of technical plans to facilitate the scheme’s kick-off.

However, LEADERSHIP investigation revealed that neither the website nor a new update had been provided on the subject since the minister made the statement.

Meanwhile, an official from the Ministry of Education who does not want his name mentioned said expansion hurdles are the reason behind the delay of the student loan.

“I think the delay in the initiation of student loans arises due to obstacles in the expansion process which hinders the timely takeoff of this financial support for students.”

Speaking to our correspondent, the president of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Lucky Emonefe said the students are still waiting for the committee on the scheme to meet with stakeholders in order to kickstart it.

He also attributed the delay to the expansion of the loan scheme.

“There is a little delay due to the expansion of the loan scheme by Mr. President. We are waiting for the Committee to meet with relevant stakeholders like NANS so that we can kick start.”

Meanwhile, a cross section of Nigerian students has implored the government to begin the student loan scheme, saying that it will unlock doors to education for those who dream of a brighter future.

A student of microbiology, University of Abuja, who identified himself as Victor, urged the government to stick to its promise and initiate the student loan scheme.

“We urge the government to commence the student loan scheme. If the government invests in education it will shape our nation’s future,” he said.

Some parents who spoke exclusively to LEADERSHIP also unite in urging the government to kickstart the student loan so as to provide support for children’s pursuit of higher education.”

Gloria Kator, a resident of Lugbe, Abuja, whose son is at the University of Abuja, urged the government to initiate the student loan without delay in order to secure a brighter future for Nigerians children through accessible education.

“I would like to implore the government to commence student loans promptly, ensuring our children’s educational journey is not hindered by financial barriers,” she said.

She stressed the urgency of government action, calling for the immediate commencement of the loans to empower the students.
