Politics › 2027: Those Forming Coalition Against Tinubu Are Content Creators — Adaramolu by Bobloco(op): 8:03pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has dismissed moves by some political actors to form a coalition or merger to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, describing them as content creators.
Tribune Online recalls that in recent times, some political heavyweights in the opposition political parties, including a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, among others, have said that there are talks for a coalition that would defeat the ruling party in the 2027 general election.
Adaramodu, who represents the Ekiti South senatorial district in the Senate, explained that the administration of President Tinubu in almost two years has initiated programmes and policies that are having positive impacts on the citizens.
He lauded President Tinubu for his decisive economic reforms that have revitalised the country’s economy as well as his comprehensive security strategies that have addressed the root cause of insecurity in the country.
The Senate spokesman spoke while addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, on Monday, in the aftermath of the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the state to endorse the president for a second term in 2027.
According to him, the APC is not worried or disturbed about the movements of the opposition figures, describing it as a political entertainment that would not have an effect on the expected victories of President Tinubu.
Adaramodu appealed to Nigerians not to take the promoters of the coalition for 2027 seriously, but remained committed and continued their support to the administration of President Tinubu in his quest to deliver his renewed hope agenda for the country.
When asked about threats of the possible coalition, he said, “Our party, APC, is not worried. What do you expect politicians to do? They are living to play politics. So, if they are playing politics, do you want them to be clapping for the APC? No.
“They have to attack either through lies and propaganda or through unfathomable falsehoods; they are coming together to climb the mountain that they can’t get to the base.
“We are not worried, and we even expect them to come together; it is to our advantage. Go and look at the weight of those people doing the collation and the platforms; those in PDP, we don’t even know which factions they belong to; those in the Labour Party, we know it is just a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for an election; it is not organic.
“I don’t want to go into personalities, but we know that politicians always play their game, and like I always say, they are creating content, and then we should enjoy it. At this stage, there should be political entertainment for us to laugh at.
“When APC is building roads and delivering dividends of democracy to the people, then we must have some time in the evening to laugh, and we are laughing at their political entertainment called coalition or merger https://tribuneonlineng.com/2027-those-forming-coalition-against-tinubu-are-content-creators-senate-spokesman/

But instead of Atiku to hand over my phone he put in his pocket. I now said to myself why is this man doing like a cheap thief in the presence of everybody pocketing my phone.
But later on when I woke up what could be the real meaning of this dream, basically he is coming to loot whatever he can loot and not worthy of voting for. So my dear Southerners no one should vote for Atiku because the man means no good in 2027.
That is my 2 cents what is yours?? Who, then, should we vote for? Certainly not Tinubu, as he is already guilty of what you are accusing Atiku of planning to do, stealing and looting our common wealth. He clearly means no good. |

aswani: Whether or not I donate, and I am not going to prove I do, I have a right to comment on the fact that Peter Obi can donate without shamelessly tying it to his political career.
If he doesn't donate to the IDP camp in Benue, I am sure lots of people will, that camp wouldn't close because an utterly shameless, publicity seeking first person like Peter Obi was not allowed to use it for photo op.
If he truly meant whatever gesture purely from his heart without seeking any advantage for himself over it, he would donate quietly and anonymously and keep away from there as adviced without all the spoilt cry baby response we are getting from him.
The other day, he was there with his fake smile taking pictures with Quadri fotlr the cameras, ah ah must he physically be there, can he not help anonymously like lots of others do? Oh, I get it now. You just hate Peter Obi. You hate his compassionate nature. You have a problem with the fact that Peter Obi facilitated the release of young Quadri from prison and was physically present. The young man was in prison for over three months. Tinubu did nothing. But the moment the news hit social media and got to Peter Obi, he stepped in and facilitated his release. That triggered you. That made you angry. You would have preferred the young man remain in prison, probably die there as long as Peter Obi had nothing to do with his release. Honestly, you’re not just bitter. You must be cold and wicked. |

Even on Easter, Tinubu’s media lackeys, Agbadorians, BATerians, Mandate-standers, Urchins never miss a chance to bark at perceived opposition. They’ve never shown this same energy when it comes to telling Nigerians what Tinubu has actually done to uplift living standards, tackle worsening insecurity, or create jobs.
All that noise, wasted on defending failure.

Mr Obi noted that compassionate leaders consider the people’s welfare in all their decisions, including actions and inactions. A former governor of Anambra, Peter Obi, has urged Christians to use the Easter period to pray for compassionate and caring leaders. The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate made the appeal in his Easter message released on Saturday by his media aide, Ibrahim Umar. “This season is the best time to pray for tender-hearted, caring leaders, as seen in Jesus’ example,” he said. Mr Obi noted that compassionate leaders consider the people’s welfare in all their decisions, including actions and inactions. The former governor described Nigeria’s current state as plagued by insecurity and multiple challenges, worsened by irresponsible and unfeeling leadership. He stressed that Nigeria deserves better leaders who can transform God-given resources into benefits for all citizens. Mr Obi also encouraged Nigerians and members of the “Obidient Movement” worldwide not to lose hope, saying, “Our Redeemer lives and assures us a New Nigeria is possible. Happy Easter.” https://gazettengr.com/easter-peter-obi-urges-prayers-for-tender-hearted-caring-leaders/ |
Politics › Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visits To Families Of Late Chukwu, Isiadinso by Bobloco(op): 12:46am On Apr 20, 2025 |
Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, on Saturday paid condolence visits to the families of two iconic Nigerian footballers, Chairman Christian Chukwu and Christian Isiadinso, who both recently passed away.
While in Enugu, Obi visited the family of the legendary Christian Chukwu, former captain and coach of the Nigerian national team and a revered figure in African football history.
Chukwu, also a prominent member of the celebrated Old Rangers squad, was remembered not only for his prowess on the pitch but also for his lasting contributions to the sport as a mentor and leader.
Addressing the bereaved family, Obi offered words of comfort and prayer, expressing deep appreciation for Chukwu’s decades of service to the nation. Members of the Old Rangers were present in large numbers to receive him.
Obi also visited another football great and former goalkeeper of the national team, Emmanuel Okala.
He commiserated with him and other surviving members of the Old Rangers team over the loss of their colleagues, acknowledging the heavy burden of grief being borne by a generation that helped shape Nigerian football.
Similarly, Obi so paid a visit to the family of Christian Isiadinso at Enugu-Ukwu, another former captain of Rangers International.
Obi conveyed his condolences and assured the family of his continued prayers and support.
Mr Obi’s longstanding relationship with the Old Rangers dates back to his time as Governor. During his tenure, he initiated the payment of monthly stipends to the aging footballers, many of whom were facing economic hardship.
He also appointed some of them into various government roles, built houses, purchased plots of land, and took personal responsibility for the burial arrangements of those who passed away without strong family support.
Only recently, he hosted the Old Rangers to dinner at Cibus Kitchen in Enugu – a venue they fondly refer to for the naturalness of its meals. Notably, the late Christian Isiadinso was present at that event. Thursday’s visit, therefore, marked a sorrowful transition from celebration to mourning.
Obi’s visit underscored his broader philosophy of honouring those who have served the country with distinction.
As Governor, he named public structures after notable Nigerians: the Onitsha North Stadium after Justice Chuba Ikpeazu, the Onitsha South Stadium after Green Eagles’ first captain Godwin Achebe, and Anambra State University after Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. His legacy also includes naming the Odumegwu-Ojukwu Teaching Hospital and twin secretariat buildings after Sir Jerome Udoji.
Through his visits and gestures, Obi reminded Nigerians that national icons should not be forgotten.
“Let us not wait until our heroes are gone before we honour them,” he stated, urging society to appreciate and support those who served with integrity while they are still alive. https://tribuneonlineng.com/peter-obi-pays-condolence-visits-to-families-of-late-chukwu-isiadinso/

Donate to Red Cross, or whichever organisation is maintaining the camp, anonymously like a lot of people do and are doing (including me ), and keep it moving, oga.
Peter Obi, enough of the shameless, blatant politicking, we never saw you in IDP camps before your failed presidential candidacy started. One should not dictate how a man chooses to spend his personal funds or where he chooses to spend them. When he visited Plateau, there was no controversy. However, when it involves Benue State and the APC, suddenly everything becomes problematic. Peter Obi’s courtesy visit to the governor was simply a respectful gesture. But, as is typical of the APC, they have chosen to politicize the matter, relying on zombies like you to defend their questionable actions. It is important to remember: this was his personal money. And, as always, it is the people who ultimately bear the consequences. |

•In Nigeria, even compassion needs clearance
It is no longer enough to have good intentions. You must have the right godfather, the right logo, the right slogan, and worst of all the right timing approved by invisible political gatekeepers. Otherwise, even a visit to comfort displaced citizens becomes a threat. That is the tragedy behind what happened when Peter Obi attempted to visit Benue State. Obi, former governor and presidential candidate, has long made it his practice to visit Nigerians in need, quietly, respectfully, and often with personal resources. This time, his mission was clear. Visit victims at an IDP camp, support students at a nursing school, and pay courtesy visits to local leaders. Plateau State welcomed him. Benue blocked him And not with subtlety. A press release from the state government made the rounds just as Obi and his team reached Akwanga, detailing his itinerary word-for-word, an itinerary previously shared only with the governor’s ADC and the security operatives for transparency. Suddenly, security advice shifted. Suddenly, his trip was deemed inconvenient. Suddenly, he was turned back. What was the crime? Visiting Nigerians who have lost everything? Supporting a school for nurses in a region where healthcare is gasping for breath? Showing empathy in a time when indifference has become government policy? It makes no sense, unless you understand the sickness in our politics. Here, every act is interpreted through the lens of power. Nothing is innocent. Nothing is simply humanitarian. If you donate food, you are mobilizing. If you comfort victims, you are plotting. If you speak the truth, you are “eyeing 2027.” We politicize everything. We politicize grief. We politicize poverty. We politicize displacement. We politicize even the right to be kind. We politicize hunger. We politicize education. We politicize displacement. We politicize disaster. We politicize people’s pain. And what is most painful is that this isn’t about Peter Obi. It’s about what Nigeria is becoming. It’s about the culture of suspicion, the obsession with control, the fear of being shown up,not through insult or attack, but through decency. You don’t have to support him to see the problem. Any decent person, regardless of party, should be alarmed by this. Because tomorrow, it could be someone else. Another leader, another governor, another act of kindness interpreted as a political threat. We are at a crossroads as a country. We don’t need more bitterness. We need bridges. We need to let go of this idea that everything must serve political interest before it serves people. Not everything is politics. Somethings are just about being human. What message are we sending to future leaders who genuinely want to serve? That even if they try to be civil, respectful, and compassionate, they will be sabotaged? That humanitarian acts must be scheduled through egos instead of needs? Peter Obi didn’t throw tantrums. He didn’t call names. He didn’t rage or curse. He simply issued a heartfelt statement: May God help us as we aim to achieve a new Nigeria where we do not politicize everything. But that gentle prayer should hit us hard. And in that line lies a question for every Nigerian. How did we get here? How did we get to a place where displaced children, traumatized mothers, and hopeful nursing students must wait for political clearance to receive love? This isn’t leadership. This is cowardice masquerading as control. When a leader sees another person’s compassion as a threat, he has lost his moral compass. When the poor become pawns in a power game, governance has failed. His journey may be blocked, but the message went through. Nigerians are watching. Nigerians are reading between the lines. We know what time it is. We know who stands with the people. It is not enough to build roads and wear white cassocks on Sunday. Leadership is not decoration. It is service. And when service becomes theater, the people suffer. There was once a time when being a Reverend Father meant your conscience was above politics. When being a public servant meant you served without bias, without fear, without the need to play puppet to party overlords. But today, it seems even the pulpit can’t protect us from the pettiness of power! Let us be honest. We are bleeding as a country. Our economy is crumbling, our students are disillusioned, our IDP camps are overflowing, and our healthcare system is ailing. In times like this, anyone willing to lend a hand should be embraced, not resisted. And if politics is your reason for saying no, then politics has become a curse. A school in Gboko will remain unfinished. An IDP camp in Makurdi will remain unseen. All because politics told kindness to wait. Imagine a child peeking through a tent flap, watching a convoy turn around, not because it couldn’t find the road, but because the road was blocked by pride. Imagine what that child will grow up believing.
We say we want a better Nigeria, yet we destroy the very acts that build it.
Peter Obi’s blocked visit should not be a footnote. It should be a warning. Because when politics begins to fear compassion, a nation is not just broken,it is lost. And if we still have any conscience, if we still want this country to work, then we must stop weaponizing everything. Every visit must not be a campaign. Every act of love must not be suspect. Every difference in party must not equal enmity. A new Nigeria is possible But only if we stop fearing those who are trying to build it differently. The people are watching. And history remembers. •Stephanie Shaakaa, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/04/this-isnt-leadership-its-cowardice/Cc seun Mynd44 OAM4J Nlfpmod fergie001
