lol it’ is still verbal agreement and it is not enforceable. You cannot enforce “dem say him say” . What if OP said the agreed price for the car was 20 million and he returned the money when the other guy tried to change it to 3 million? Who can dispute it ? No evidence, No case😃. What if op said he gave him the cash to keep so they can start a business together ? Like the installment can be for anything at all. It can even be for OPs TV or a bag of Agbado 😃. Written or not, you had a contract. Ever heard of oral contact? You should honour the contract. It's not your neighbour's fault that you couldn't get another car at a cheaper price. In develop countries, if your neighbour decides to buy another car elsewhere at a much higher price, you will have to pay the difference in the higher price. You basically reneged on your obligation and it's a crime. Give him his car and document.

So it’s their word against OP. It’s a case of “he said “ , “she said “ , “she didn’t say “ . Op can say the money was transfered to his account as a loan which he has promptly repaid with evidence. It’s all word of mouth at this point . No evidence . The law is based on fact and evidence. It’s a lesson for everyone , even if na your brother , make sure you put pen to paper and sign with witnesses as well. It’s hard to defend cases without evidence . Op would likely win in court .

Anybody in Ibadan who can help ?

Hi good people of Nairaland, I have two plots of land somewhere in Ibadan that I bought in 2021. I heard land grabbers have started grabbing lands around adjoining lands around mine and I needed to do a C of O to fully secure the land.

I reached out to someone I know in Ibadan to help me with the process, I was charged 200k which I promptly paid and I haven’t heard back since from the guy . I know at this point that I have been scammed .

Recently I have been looking at the Oyo state website and I realize I might be able to do it myself and possibly pay the fees online and directly to the government account.

I don’t reside in Nigeria and I intend to do most of it online if possible by myself. I have pretty much all the required documents except the tax clearance certificate. Can anyone here guide me on how to get a tax clearance certificate from Oyo state (with cost implications) and the process of getting a C of O done in oyo state without stress.
