RomanceRe: How Do I Tell Her To Go? The Lockdown Is Tiring Already by Bobopupa: 11:26am On Apr 14, 2020
MadeBoy:
I'm a guy that likes my privacy reasons of my quality time to think and pray for hours. Because I face a lot of spiritual challenges. And my midnight prayers have been helping me. Most especially when I had a nightmare or anytime I woke up.

I will seal up my windows and doors while my AC is blasting high. And even when I raise up my voice it doesn't come out.

The government just extended the lockdown which is tiring. She came to my house and doesn't want to leave. I have so many debts on my head now and my yearly house rent is expiring soon. This is the period I need to be alone in prayers. The little I have now I am using it to take care of her which I would have uses for myself to prolong the suffering during this lockdown. Branch and carbon are sending me SMS to pay my loans.

My apartment is so cussing, chilling and so comfortable more than her house by far. Maybe reason she doesn't want to go. She will be disturbing me and dragging remot control with me. When I am watching TV she will just change it to nollywood drama.

I do want her to be coming and going. Not just to come and stay like she is doing now. I'm not use to this type of life unlike some of my friends.

Outside of all this, I do not see future with her just normal control things..

I have not been able to leave the house or do other personal private stuff.

I need her to go maybe coming on some weekends or when invited.
Hey Bro,

In one message, you're talking about how you live in a really cozy apartment and also about how you're heavily indebted, with barely enough to feed more than just yourself and that the loan companies are hounding you for repayment...

Set time apart and reflect on your life man, and get your priorities right. The girl might be the least of your problems, dunno if anyone mentioned this in earlier comments, but my mentioning it should reinforce this point of view.

Run a BVN search on you... sounding like it's info you'll just obtain like you would from a google search.

chuksanambra:
He carry plenty dada for head but his brain is empty.

A simple Google search would reveal that this was reported on Nairaland in April this year. Anyone with average fact finding techniques and data skills can successfully confuse a lot of Nigerians.

If I know your first name and I pay someone to run a BVN search on you, I'll get all the information I need to run an accurate prophecy on you and suck you dry for sometime.

This is a lie, have you ever watched a Hollywood movie where a full naked woman is rubbing the dick of a full naked manhuh, talkless of a channel meant for kids.Everything on Air in America are highly regulated, not like Nigeria where kids, teenagers and adults watch the same movie.
If you go to the cinemas in America with your kids,if the movie is rated 18, your kids will never be allowed in.
Maybe this picture is from a cartoon porn, how would a kid channel be showing a naked woman rubbing the dick of a man live, common this is not on cartoon Network, big lie

My exact sentiments. I received this as usual from a friend y'day who broadcasted it. I wouldn't like to go into the long treatise i did with the person trying to debunk the possibility of this being true.

BUT THIS IS A SPOOF/CARTOON PORN VERSION.

I'm not one to believe everything I see on the internet/social media with one "moral caption" at the end of it.

Hi guys, unless you are aware of this http://www.landover.aero/, then my addition may not mean much. But i'll be happy to have helped with that link if it turns out you didn't know about it before hand.

Helping a friend do a bit of research on this and stumbled on this post. Landover seems quite known, rooted and respected in the local industry, but do your findings though.

Wish you guys the best.

RomanceRe: Is Love A Feeling? Or Is It A Choice? by Bobopupa(op): 8:09am On Apr 15, 2016
Fmartin:
Love has no real definition.......

People define it to suit there present situation
The question wasn't about the definition of love... just pointing out.
RomanceIs Love A Feeling? Or Is It A Choice? by Bobopupa(op):
A lot of People ask me what my biggest fear is, or what scares me the most.

And I know they expect an answer like heights, or closed spaces, or people dressed like animals but how do I tell them that when I was 17, I took a class called Relationships For Life and I learned that most people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it. That their lover's once endearing stubbornness has now become refusal to compromise and their one track mind is now immaturity and their bad habits that you once adored is now money down the drain. Their spontaneity becomes reckless and irresponsible and their feet up on your dash is no longer sexy, just another distraction to your busy life.

Nothing saddens and scares me like the thought that I can become ugly to someone who once thought all the stars were in my eyes.

I never expected this to be my most popular poem post out of hundreds I've written. I was extremely bitter and sad when I wrote this and left out the most beautiful part of the class.

After my teacher introduced us to this theory, she asked us, "is love a feeling? or is it a choice? We were all a bunch of teenagers. Naturally, we said it was a feeling. She said that if we clung to that belief, we'd never have a lasting relationship of any sort.

She made us interview a dozen adults who were or had been married and we asked them about their marriages and why it lasted or why it failed. At the end, I asked every single person if love was an emotion or choice.

Everybody said that it was a choice. It was a conscious commitment. It was something you chose to make work everyday with a person who has chosen the same thing. They all said that at one point in their marriage, the feeling of love had vanished or faded and they weren't happy. They said feelings were always changing and you cannot build something that will last on such a shaky foundation.

The married ones said that when things were bad, they chose to open the communication, chose to identify what broke and how to fix it, and chose to recreate something worth falling in love with.

The divorced ones said they walked away.

Ever since that class, since that project, I never looked at relationships the same way. I understood why arranged marriages were successful. I discovered the difference in feelings and commitments, I've never gone for the person who makes my heart flutter or my head spin. I've chosen the people who were committed to choosing me, dedicated to finding something to adore even on the ugliest days.

I no longer fear the day someone who swore I was their universe can no longer see the stars in my eyes as long as they still choose to look until they find them again.

You could also try www.fuelvoucher.com.ng for a great way to track your fueling consumption. FuelVoucher is an electronic way of purchasing fuel without cash, card or paper vouchers. You can purchase fuel for friends and loved ones from wherever you are! FuelVoucher will also tell you what stations have fuel so you don't end up driving round and round burning the little fuel you have left during scarcity periods. You can sign-up to find out more.

AbokiFx App ...gives you updates on Naira exchange with the Usd,Gbp and Eur
Abokifx app caught my attention... I check their website at least once every 2days, wouldn't be bad to download their app too.
My best and most used app ATM would be Quickteller mobile. Don't know what I'd do without it, it is the definition of convenience. Next to that is the Fuelvoucher.com.ng mobile app. With fuelvoucher, i don't have to worry about where or how to get fuel during scarcity (artificial or otherwise). They get to notify their customers about participating stations across Lagos that have and are selling. Don't know the kinda arrangements they have with the stations, but just saying you have and wanna redeem a fuelvoucher gets u attended to faster... It's worth checking out.

Hello Seun,

I really do not think NL should be accepting ads from Zaposta. Just saw one on the front page. So many Nairalanders have lost good money doing business with them. A little search will show you the stats. I still have a 7-month pending shipment with them with no end in sight.
Just my opinion.
Seun, please take this seriously.

TempDreamz:
Zaposta my black, fluffy butt!

Nairalanders, in the name of God and every other thing you hold dear to you, DO NOT USE ZAPOSTA.COM!

I can't emphasize this enough. You already know it's the same thieving, unrelable, lying, worthless ShippyMe guys. Do go right ahead if you wish to experience loss of time, energy, monies, self-esteem and just everything that strips you of machismo.

I was stupid enough to think they would change and have changed and perhaps thought they had better offerings with the Zaposta name since they started their UK services. Oh boy, was I wrong to the tenth degree!

They're even more worthless than I had thought. It's been 3 weeks plus since I got my account verified with them, then I decided to give their UK shipping service some shot right after that. The first bummer was the fact that their UK address is actually a personal facility (think home address). It's not an office. Suffice to say, my orders got shipped to their listed UK address, but ended up at their neighbor's home. Keep in mind these were delivered within business hours. How do you explain such stupidity?

I waited 4 days for them to retrieve my items from their UK address "neighbor" and in return update my shipment status within their buggy account area. That took almost a full week. The annoying bit would be their Yaba support people who are pretty clueless about anything. All you get are canned responses offering no help whatsoever!

Then you have the thieving dimwits charging you per LBS for UK shipments, when everyother competing companies charge you straight up per KG. These guys are full of trickery and dishonest tactics just to make you part with large outlay of cash. I wish to go into more details regarding my situation, but they got me exhausted and spent out already chasing them around just to get my shipments. Please do go through stuffs I've endured with these thieves. Look elsewhere for your shipping needs. These guys are broad daylight thieves.

Then you have the usual issue with them holding your items for weeka on end before shipping to Nigeria. They are actually waiting for their cargo limits to be met before shipping. Hey Zaposta, if you guys weren't so greedy perhaps your horrible reputation won't preceed your company, which is why your weekly shipping quota don't get met.

I actually hope you guys get shutdown soon. And your UK address need to get investigated as well. For the kind of bills you send customers, I'd have thought you guys would afford a normal office space and not some bedroom operation. I hope you've got your license in place as well.
I came here to vent - but I see you've taken the stress off me.

I've been doing business with these guys since 2011 (Since Circuit Atlantic), and I've had issues of varying degrees with EVERY SINGLE ORDER. I always ignored the high charges and thought they were doing something remarkable and that their business was going somewhere and that with time, their business process, service delivery and ultimately charges would improve, but alas, I was wrong. I used to defend these guys when people made accusations/allegations... That's how much faith I had in them but as time passed, they were rather going south...

My fingers hurt, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, PERIOD... I've heard of a few other services on here that folks can try out (or come share testimonies about); adelove shipping, shypmate ...

Shippyme.com, now Zaposta.com, owe me alot of goods worth alot of money till date, so this was fraud afterall.
Look, they're not fraudulent, just highly inefficient and have refused to change over the years irrespective of comments and complaints from customers (myself included). Sincerely, I doubt that they value their customers let alone care about their plight when issues arise. They've been rebranding (Circuit Atlantic / Shippyme / Zaposta / who-knows-what-next) on the outside but fail to realise that your business process and people are also part of what makes (and in their case) break your brand.

It takes nothing to contact them. To me i had 20 lbs goods and i paid $80 for mine which i received 4 days after. You cannot get that from FEDEX or UPS. Affordable price and Reliable company
I'll share my experience using Circuit Atlantic - Shippyme - Zaposta. You know as much as these guys aren't illegal shippers as someone had mentioned in a similar thread, I've just realised how much I've been ripped off (and possibly other loyal customers) over the years - since they opened shop actually. I never thought i'd be doing this but they've pushed me to the wall.

For goods of about the same weight (20.9 lbs), I was charged $ 104.00. Now the charges didn't matter to me as much but for an inefficient service, long delays (had to wait since the 1st week in January when all my items had been delivered to them), add to that, a rude and an unbecoming attitude from their client service reps... I mean it was about time.

It's sad that sometimes loyal customers never truly understand why/what it is that keeps them doing business with a particular service provider, but for me I've had it.

I've called in several times to address certain issues with them and like I advised, I truly hope they realise that there are other options out there, and one that can send them into oblivion.

Testimonials and customer feedback are good, for some it'll help them make their businesses better but for others - who have become obstinate - who think because "Our website/app is beautiful and user friendly" customers will keep using us, I tell them, wait for the day.

Will try out Adelove Shipping simply for the testimonials and feedback I've seen here and share my experience as well.

Cheers

Since peak is summit, "peaked my interest", should be 'arouse my interest'. Rather than "look" which is appropriate for "peek".
no, no, no. The suggested usage is the right usage. What you'll rather mean with your expression wud be 'deepened my interest', intensified my interest'. While the phrase is meant to mean 'start, spark or stimulate my interest'.
EducationRe: 20 Stupid Grammar Mistakes That Even Smart People Make. by Bobopupa: 9:44am On Jan 17, 2016
Nice Post! The best part for me here is, knowing i'll have less people to correct their grammar (or at least convince about wrong usage) seeing that more people now know. Another area that's easily overlooked in spoken/written English is 'redundant phrases' as i'd like to put it. For example, "still ongoing" while I can't go into explaining how that's redundant right now, i'd just state emphatically that saying 'ongoing' is good enough (you can look it up if you wish to). There are several redundant phrases i can't begin to list now... For me, any expession (in communication) is best K.I.S.Sed (keep it short and simple). If you're unsure about an expression, find a much simpler way to say it. There always is. Happy Sunday!
