Music/Radio / War In The House Of Fuji by bobotee(m): 3:28pm On Sep 23, 2007
The war of words presently going on amongst fuji artistes calls for attention. Basically it is a war of leadership among two principal characters, King Saheed Osupa (Saheed Okunola) and Otunba Wasiu Alabi Pasuma. The genesis of the war started a  few months ago at a show organised for Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, the man who modernised Were Music (Islamic rendition during the holy month Of Ramadan) into fuji music, Saheed Osupa and up-coming fuji act Muri Thunder. Barrister told Saheed Osupa that he has copies of all his albums and that he is impressed by efforts of Saheed Osupa who he (Barrister) feels is taking after him. Sequel to this Barrister informed Saheed Osupa that for his efforts he would crown him the King of Music among fuji acts in Nigeria. A gestrure which the wave making fuji act who employs lots of proverbs and idioms accepted. Prior  to when Saheed Osupa was pronounced the King of Music by Barrister, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde K1 made Wasiu Alabi Pasuma the Otunba of Fuji acts in Nigeria. Since Saheed Osupa was pronounced the king of music by Barrister the fuji music indsutry has not known peace and it has been accusations, counter accusations and banters. exclusivew interviews of King Saheed Osupa and Otunba Pasuma will be posted as soon as possible.

Romance / Re: The Perfect Valentine's Day Gift by bobotee(m): 4:47am On Feb 03, 2007
The popular Alade market situated on Alllen Avenue yesterday night about 11pm was guuted by fire destroying valueables, textile materials and other goods worth millions of naira. Though the cause of the fire as at now is not known, residents think the electric power which was restored after an outage which had been experienced in the market all day was the likely cause of the fire. It took a combined team of the anti-robbery police men attached to Allen Avenue Junction, men of the State fire service and residents to put out the fire.

Religion / Re: Nigerian Churches And Noise Pollution by bobotee(m): 2:24pm On Dec 16, 2006
In my own opinion a lot of Churces today have leaders who are really not informed and so they have very little respect for a neighbour's right. I dont believe i have to be noisy to disturb my naighbour before my prayers are answered.I believe by shoutig loud my neighbours already know my petition so when God in Hs infinite mercies answers me it may no longer be news.

The men of the State Security Service (SSS) Alausa unit, have raided the office of PostNet Communications, publishers of Southwest Post, a weekly newspaper, located at 5, Adegbeyeni Street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja and took along the publisher Mr. Dupe Ashama and it’s Entertainment Editor Mr. Taiwo Obatusin.

No reason was given for the raid, as they also carted away copies of the editions of the newspaper and computer systems and other items yet to be ascertained.

The five armed men who arrived in a green van with plate number AR341KRD, Lagos at about Noon on Friday November 10, 2006 and began the search of the premises of the publication house.

Initially the van was parked some few meters away from the premises, but was later driven to the front of the building for the purpose of conveying the materials carted away from the media house.

This is another way that the present administration has clearly demonstrated that it is opposed to constructive criticism and genuine public opinion by using state power to gauge the press which is against the Universal Declaration of the Freedom of the Press as contained in Article 19 of the African Charter of Human and Peoples Right and the Nigerian constitution.

We feel strongly that if the government is not at home or against any news publication in the Southwest Post Newspaper the right thing they should have done is seek redress in the law court and not resorting to a form of intimidation as witnessed today.

Family / Re: Yorubas And The 'Left-Hand' Issue by bobotee(m): 7:27pm On Sep 10, 2006
There is absolutely nothing wrong in using the left hand but our culture should be respected. My mum understands becos it only my twin broda out of all her kids that is not lefthanded. But she trained us to respect the elders and hand them things with the right hand. She is never offended when anyone gives her any thing with the left hand.
The best thing is to allow kids use the hand that naturally becomes active to them. But they should be trained to respect the elders in the use of their hands.

Music/Radio / Re: Nigeria's Least Appreciated Musical Artiste? by bobotee(m): 3:53pm On Aug 03, 2006
There is no artiste who is appreciated in this country. How many radio or television stattions not to talk of internet sites have paid royalty to any Nigerian musical artiste for playing their songs. Everyone has his or her own story from Fatial Rolling Dollar, Dan Maraya Jos, Oliver De Coque to Jeremiah Gyang. Who has been apprecaited?
