Also got the mail. I took 3 easy steps. 1. I googled Novotel hotels and saw that they don't have any hotel at the location where the said hotel is recruiting. Also noticed the difference in contact phone numbers. 2. I called the number on the scam mail and the guy @ the other end tried to imitate an englishman as best as he could(but I spotted flaws). 3. I then called the numbers on google page. This time, a real British lady spoke and told me there were no such persons with such names in their employ. I tell u, these naija boys have perfected the art! Morale of the story....whenever u receive any of such offers, no matter how 'true' it seems, pls do quality back-ground checks before u even enter into correspondence with them. God help us! |

From the days of John The Baptist, that road has been like that. And evry other year, we keep hearing the same thing. In fact tales from the vine bears it that the contract for that road has been awarded up to 5 times!!!. Like what someone said earlier, it is a political road (pls don't ask me what that means). In summary, the road is a classical example of 'man's inhumanity to man'. First came in contact with that road about 12 years ago and from the pics, the story is still same. I weep for my dear Imo State!!! Painfully so too, considering the fact that the said road is one road visitors to the state come to use on a daily basis seeing that it bothers on 2 prominent federal institutions. Its been said overtime, that Imo is replete with bad, sad and ugly news. To this, I call on Gov Rochas, those responsible (directly and indirectly) for the prolonged state of utter disrepair of that road and indeed, Ndi Imo , please let's prove bookmakers wrong for once, biko!!! Ka Chineke mezi okwu! |
Compare the car to the building....if the guy lives there on rent, he deserves to be flogged, really! That been said, violence don't justify anything. |

@OP...... I must start by congratulating you for first restoring hope to Nairaland as a foremost educative and mature yet entertaining site(some of us who knew Nairaland and what it stood for, were almost giving up). Thank you too for proving to the older generation that our generation is not filled with 'kukere', 'free-madness' and the likes which literarily pervades the air-waves. Furthermore, I must also commend your ability to step 'outside' your world, and the corresponding gait which you employed in telling your unique story. That been said, I must point out a 'few' flaws: 1: I'm guesing maybe due to the rush, the last two 'episodes' were characterized by a lot of typo-graphical errors..please look into it. 2: you seem not to have got a clear distinction between the words 'has' and 'as'...the 'h' sound, when it is silent and when it isn't. And a few others. My suggestions.. 1:You need not see yourself as an amature anymore, therefore when next you write any piece, please ask a few 'trusted' hands to proof-read and critique thoruoghly before you publish, here or anywhere else. 2: Writing is a multi-billion dollar industry and with the stuff you've put to show here, you clearly are cut-out for mega box. My point, begin to think of packaging your works in a most -unique manner. Don't settle for less. If it means seeking professional advice, then go for it. Your near-perfect use of words, street slangs, and descritptive mannerisms all contributed to making this piece truly something to be desired...a departure from what we are almost getting used to from our 'dear own' nollywood. Furhter more, I must also commend the 'realness' you put in making it very difficult for a few 'trained' minds to believe it was fiction indeed.Need I say more? In all, your piece is clearly brilliant. Thanks for challenging the 'writer' in a few of us! Godbless you! |
@op, good one! |

sheyguy: Guy stop the delusion, 2face like most superstar and popular figure associated with FESTAC only became FESTAC residents after they made significant leap in their careers. Jay-Jay Okocha, Blacface, and Sunday Oliseh are some other superstar who now have houses in FESTAC.Tell us say u don see am couple of times for FESTAC.just to let u know, ur wrong bout this..growing up in festac(and i dont mean living close to festac), with the exception of jay jay, the rest names u mentioned actually GREW up in FESTAC...at least i used to watch oliseh from my classroom window(festac college)in training sessions way back in 1993, Tu and black face(later joined by Face)used to hang out in almost all the playgrounds(202, 23rd, 512rd, for those who know festac very well), long before they even blew up. just to put the facts right! |
Hod1000: As with every other thing in life, there are rules governing them all. Same thing is applicable to the face. You must observe the rules of the face if you must have a clean smooth face. Here are some of the fundamental basic rules of the face.said it all! |
