It will be safer if additional auxiliary contact is added to d contactor, and the Gen Off is wired to the NO of the aux contact. Wit this the GEn goes off immediately PHCN comes in. Just a blink in the Supply

Yes any suitably rated relay/contactor with at least 1 each of NO and NC contacts such as LC1D25008 can serve as an ATS - please see example diagram below;

You may need additional circuitry to switch your Gen OFF/ON after power transfer though.

My system is up

2x2 config was done for the panel's

16mm flex cable was used from PV-CC-BATTERY

20amp DC breaker was used btw PV-CC

A new grounding was done for the panels & inverter DB. Each panel was linked with 2.5mm cable & connected to the new earth copper rod


My batteries are 200amp POWERSAFE batteries(fairly used though)

Upon reciept of the batteries, multimeter reading for each battery was 12.9v & 13.1v respectively

I finally opted for the balcony, though the setup is still a little bit crude, covered part of the protector with tapolin to prevent rain water


Haven't been around to monitor it but I know i haven't seen above 2A on my CC but i get as high as 78v

setup was done late Saturday, Sunday & Monday, cloudy days & i wasn't really around too

When the batterry was connected to CC, it was at 25v, later became 28.8v after setup on that Saturday, much much later though

Since the battery was almost charged, I don't know if that's why I'm getting low amps from the CC


Issues

1. My inverter gives out this sound every 7minutes with no indicator lights coming on

2. When I'm charging the inverter with NEPA even though the inverter is OFF, it still supplies, why is this ?

3. I have noticed this incident with 3 sockets in the house: when a load is connected to these sockets, when the switch is put on, the inverter trips, the short circuit/over load light will come on

I know it isn't overload cos what I plugged was phone charger, at another time it was a rechargeable fan, what could be wrong?

Once i put off the inverter and put it back on, evrything works well, even if u switch off that same socket off and on, it doesn't trip again

If the inverter is switched off for a long time & it's put on again, the same thing will happen again

4. One of the socket is the type that has a led indicator, if the switch is off & you plug ur appliance mid way, that light will come on
Is this a wiring issue or the socket is Bad or it's an inverter issue?

Remember the lighting points & sockets for inverter has its own DB different from NEPA DB

On your issue 3, as u said dat d indicator comes uo midway, i suggest u change d socket, as d indicator bulb resistance is tending towards zero, to confirm dis, cut off d leg of d indicator and plug in ur appliances.

trying to recover my batteries (2 x 12v 200Ah Amaron Quanta) not holding charge. I've got a Kevin Inverter that seems to charge my battery through the 4-stage charging cycle; I would like answers to the ff;

a. Can i desulfate my batteries using my inverter and solar 60a MPPT Morningstar CC (i.e using two sources of charging at the same time)

b. I've read about desulfator on the thread, i see various brands on amazon (bls, batterytender, batteryminder, pulsetech, wizbang) can someone advice on the best tested with proven result.

Wit my little knowledge once ur CC current/voltage is higher dan d inverter chargin current/voltage d inverter shuld see ur bat3 as full aand cut off d chargin from d inverter. Also if ur inverter is higher ur CC wil see it full also cuttin off its chargin.

Urgent info is needed on where to buy SEVEN DAY TIMER SWITCH locally in naija.
I am aware its on ebay and the likes.
Its been a while since my 3 units of timer switches stopped working.
I remember reading online few months ago that the switches do die sudden deaths.
However, i believe the advantage supercds the life span.
When mine were still functional, i enjoyed the way my fridge comes up exactly 7am and off exactly 4pm.
Whenever i am traveling out of town, i connect all security lights to a socket....such that they come up 6.30pm and go off by 7am the following day.
It turned my neighbours to mumu...lols.

A 24hr clock timer + a 30amp. Contactor can replace d timer switch for d fridge load. Also a dust to dawn photo sensor will cntrolur security lightnings and. Deyy ar very cheap.

Try to toggle btw the NC/HC. Or UPS / INVERTER switch at d bak of d inverter. And if persist open d inverter and check d 2 red 40amp fuse on d -ve leg.
