PropertiesRe: How Much Do You Pay For Rent In Your Place by BodePolScience: 9:03pm On Dec 17, 2025
lordprogress:
Ile ife 450k self-contained I am surprised why it is that expensive, apart from the university the city looks too ancient to be that expensive.
I spend 1k plus everyday to the office everyday. Omo na God go help us.
For sef-conhuh Maybe you're staying in students/lappy boys populated areas like Asherifa, Omole Estate, Ede Road, Damico, Parakin... Or some hyped (24/7) light area like Modomo, Eleweran, Awosun, Fashina...

I stay in a standard 2 bedroom, although not pop, it's PVC and total package I paid was 370k but yearly rent is 300k. I always believe in the concept of value for money. I prefer to give out money for free than pay for something that's not worth the value.

This present US Government should be designated a foreign terrorist organization too. There's a rule of engagement when operating on international waters.

What happens to intercepting the boat and making a thorough investigation before just bombing and killing people indiscriminately?
PoliticsRe: Oyebanji Asks Friends To Convert Birthday Gifts To Donations For Special Schools by BodePolScience: 10:35am On Dec 17, 2025
That's a wise and sensible Governor who really have the best interest of the people at heart. He also knows that gift blinds and gift makes one to compromise and embrace favoritism. Accepting gifts will only breed more scared cows and sycophants and it weakens the resolve of the recipient to do the most proper and appropriate things.

Let it not surprise anyone here that the APC is behind that Accord Party faction.

That's the same tactic they used to destroy the LP, discombobulate, and thwart Peter Obi’s ambition.

That's also the same tactic they used to destroy the PDP, which the likes of Ayodele Fayose now refer to as a dead party, with just a carcass remaining.

All those "I agreed' you ticked and those consent you signed while you opened your account or applied for loan, have you taken your time to read what was written there? De play, by the time you get to court, your eyes will clear
If an app comes with loan policies that are inconsistent with financial laws or financial ethical practices, the court can't do anything to the debtor if the debtor clicked all those I agree. There's this legal maxim that he that must come to equity, must come with clean hands...Fact is that even the creditor/app cannot charge you to court.

Please ignore the long epistle. That is not the position of CBN in bank's loan recovery.
What I can deduce from the original post is that it's only banks that have the exclusive right to auto debit as along as there's a signed document/mandates between both parties (just your bank and you) And NOT APPS/LOAN SERVICE PROVIDERS and that banks don't have the right to auto debit on behalf of those apps/loan service providers or loan apps. For instance, Palmpay auto debiting for Flexicash is very wrong and against the law.

helinues:
Are they going to request for id verification when registering for social media accounts?
Yes, that's the only way the policies could be enforced. Nevertheless, minors will still have a way to bypass any restriction. They could be buying or getting accounts from other registered users across the globe.
BusinessRe: No Bank Is Allowed To Debit Your Account Over Loan Repayments Unless... by BodePolScience:
I later got to know that it wasn't even Palmpay ongoings, it was a brand called Flexicash but it seems the brand is using or hiding under Palmpay to perpetrate such illegal practices and that makes Palmpay to be complicit.

First, a 7 day loan duration is illegal, unethical, lacks common sense and against Google Play Store policies. If Palmpay is on Playstore, then its loan services or subsidiary shouldn't contravene Playstore policies on loan and that makes Palmpay complicit. Also, adding daily overdue fee right from the 7th day until the debt is fully paid is very damaging and very unethical.

It's very embarrassing that in this 2025/2026, we still have some Mr. Shylocks in our regulated finance sectors who are ready to take pounds of flesh from their debtors.
BusinessRe: No Bank Is Allowed To Debit Your Account Over Loan Repayments Unless... by BodePolScience:
I was talking with a neighbor and he got calls that seem to unsettle him. He told me that Palmpay people are on his neck. According to him, he got a loan of 15k and originally he was to pay back 18k plus within 29 days. Well, being a salary earner, he opted for the loan with the hope that he would pay back in less than two weeks after collecting his salary. When he was applying for the loan, Palmpay broke down the loan in 7 days duration, he was asked to pay the loan every 7 days in 3 tranches/installments.

At the end of the first 7th day, he started receiving calls and demoralizing msgs tagging him fraudulent, and threats that they'd start calling his contacts every 30 minutes and even curses like his family members will die, his community will mourn him bla bla bla. Also, from that 7th day, he started getting daily overdue fee. In less than a month, a principal loan of 15k is racing towards 30k. It was then that I had to embolden him, I told him not to pay a dime and that the real fraudster is Palmpay and not him.

News like this makes me go haywire or mentally disturbed. Until we believe and act on the notion that an injustice to one is an injustice to all, things like this would continue to persist. If those two cowardly soldiers had known that the community youth would not condone their animalistic behavior, they would have thought twice before engaging in dehumanizing and brutalizing in broad day light.

A professor would still be earning less than 10k dollars per year
Highest a prof makes now is 600k so 900k for a professor a month in this economy is ok?

And 150k for a lecture one is ok?
So 900k per month isn't okay? Nursery or elementary school teachers that are helping our kids in their early stage of scribbling, writing, reading, observations and assertiveness are much more valuable than some professors in our higher institutions.

BusinessRe: The Red Flags We Ignore When We Borrow From Loan Apps by BodePolScience: 6:17am On Nov 29, 2025
airsaylongcome:
Let's be a bit decent in our choice of words. Saying I'm talking "trash" is a bit uncouth.

So let's break it down. Finance is a heavily regulated industry. Pretty much like medicine or law. A financial business that has failed to obtain regulatory registration is already running foul of the law ab initio. Are you say a court of competent jurisdiction will enforce a "loan" supposedly "issued" by an illegal entity?

You talk of legal technicalities, how many times, in our justice system have cases been flung out based on technicalities? Defaulting on a loan is a civil case not a criminal one, and a judge will fling a case like this out if the lawyer can prove that the loan shark is an illegal entity
No mind the guy jare. Him think say the court system is like their village assembly. The mere fact is that such company will not even have the moral courage to sue its loan defaulters because they've broken the law in the first place.
BusinessRe: The Red Flags We Ignore When We Borrow From Loan Apps by BodePolScience:
MarkNsukkaBread:
You're talking trash!

No being a registered does not in anyway invalidate the loan they gave you.

The most that will happen is that the loan shark will be fined or penalised in some way but no court of law anywhere will automatically discharge you from a loan obligation simply because the loan shark that gave you the loan is not registered

Law is supposed to be repugnant to injustice therefore no court will reward a person who seeks to cheat or defraud another person by means of legal technicalities
The best way to know someone talking trash is to take note of someone's diction, if you're not civil enough to state your point without using insultive language then your level of reasoning is poor and whatever your say should be taken with a pinch of salt.

What the other person stated was that a company's illegality of outrageous interest rate, very short term duration like 7 days, daily overdue interest from the 7th day till infinity, blackmailing with funeral pictures/intimidation would have already made the company to lose its locus standi in the court as he who must come to equity must come with clean hands. Do you also know that cyberbulling is a criminal offense on its own and it's even clearly stated and incorporated in the FCCPC act?

I have a sister who was once a victim of these loan shark companies and I know how they operate.

A so called company violates FCCPC act, Google Play Store Policy, common ethics and logical thinking, so how will even the company defend itself in the court of lawhuh Think about it nah. The reason all these companies are still perpetrating these illegalities even in this 2025 is because most of their customers are poor, illiterate, not assertive enough and may not even know their left from their right and the government seems not to care.

Yeah, let's all become atheists, and we will see development and peace. grin grin grin grin grin cheesy grin grin grin grin grin

Stalin was an atheist, made religion a crime, closed down all relgious institutions, and was still an evil person, who jailed and killed lots of people

In the DDR, being religious meant no higher education and active discrimination, yet the DDR was a very oppresive state.

That's why I laugh at people who think that once relgion is gone, so goes evil. Religious people are evil, yes, but so also are non-religious.

There is no religion like humanity. People are prone to hating and disliking each other, religion or no.
The belief in state supremacy over the individual (totalitarianism) is still a form of religion on its own. A good example is Nazism which is a kind of ethnocentric religion in Germany. An absolute monarch like Selassie (Jesus of Africa) is still being revered and worshipped till today. The thing is that it's very possible to hide under the auspices of atheism and still procreate a new kind of religion.

All of them are the opium of the masses. The best religion/way of life is still humanity/humanism. Albeit, non-religious shouldn't be classified as a religion.

PoliticsRe: Insecurity: Sanwo-Olu, South-west Stakeholders Push For Indigenous Solutions by BodePolScience:
The late former Governor of Ondo State vehemently championed this move toward decentralized security measures. The Southern Governors' Forum set a deadline of September 2021 for the end of nomadic pastoralism, but up till now, Fulani herdsmen are still moving throughout the whole of the Southwest region. This clearly shows the complicity and the timidness of our regional leaders.

In 2024, a particular Senator revisited the issue and called for the end of this anachronistic nomadic pastoralism that has caused undue pain, misery, wanton deaths, and displacement. However, Senator Aliero from Kebbi quickly shut it down, claiming that every Nigerian has the freedom of movement and the right to conduct business in every part of the country.
Christianity EtcRe: Does Praying For The Dead Make Them Go To Heaven? by BodePolScience: 10:13am On Nov 23, 2025
MaxInDHouse:
The judgment in this context is not what most people think rather it's about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
During that time mankind will be given a thousand years to live without anyone getting sick or dying, no criminals will be allowed because Christ will rule the earth using faithful people to handle matters. Revelations 20:5-6
Some people will still die during Christ's thousand year reign not due to oldage or sickness but for their unbelief after living for just 100 years! Isaiah 65:20

Before Jesus start his rulership there will be resurrection throughout the earth but who and who will be resurrected?

Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice  and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. John 5:28-29

Note that Jesus didn't say it's Christians that will have life or unbelievers that will be judged rather he said it's about good deeds so by that time Christians will be teaching people everywhere all the good things Jesus taught in the Bible and many will respond positively but there will be people who will not agree as they will insist on practicing their former religions even when they realize that such religions no longer exist that's why they will start criticizing the Christians but after 100 years they will die without sickness or oldage.

So who are the RIGHTEOUS and who are the UNRIGHTEOUS?

The RIGHTEOUS are those who has been declared righteous by God for knowing and practicing pure worship in their past life {Hebrews 11:4-34} so they will be raised back to life so as to have their own benefits under Christ's reign! Job 14:13-15, Daniel 12:13

The UNRIGHTEOUS are people who don't know God's laws but lived by their own conscience {Romans 2:14-15} God will remember them and bring them back to life so that both faithful servants of God in ancient times and Christians may teach them how to practice pure worship.

The last and the least are the WICKED who don't care about God or virtue they lived as if there is no God {Psalms 10:4} and treated their neighbors wickedly so such ones will never be allowed to come back they will rotten in their graves forever! Psalms 9:17
All of these because a book said so.

That area is definitely under one local government. Until we have true devolution or true decentralization, things like this will continue to persist. True devolution will ensure that every area is perfectly mapped out and well coordinated for logistics, economic and chiefly, for security purposes.

Just the sound of a gun should be enough to attract security personnels to the location in about 5 mins.
