With the recent rate of revocation, I did advice you use your visas first, cos at the interview you might/will be asked why u haven't used it for the earlier stated purpose. It does pinch the vos to revoke visas this days.
You might want to weight your options here, and decide what's best for the family. And if you must go for the interview go with the copy of your visa n not your passport, be smart.
This is my deduction after so much research on happenings at the embassy right now.
Thanks for your response I believe I have a good reason for not using the visa at the said time ,I was pregnant and we decided not travel until I have the baby .That seems like a good enough reason?

Hi thanks for your response our reason for travelling was vacation tourism.and this is the only leave I have for the year I can't reschedule at my place of work. author=Pesuzok post=67691360]
I think it all depends on the reason. What was the purpose for travel that you gave during the visa interview.

I will advice you go with a copy of their visa and passport just in case, and have a very good reason why you have decided to travel now and not wait till when schools will be out of session[/quote]

The only fear that should have been existing here is just on your husband and his ties, and how that will affect the generality of your application. My take home here particularly is in the truthful approach to this seeming shortcoming and the outcome despite. Thumbs up guys! Your cover was massive though (run na cheesy, you are still a plus to their system). Nice one....

And oh, there was a pile as bolded above? Okay oh! Thought they don't issue visas, hear this lots here from people that get denied....

Congrats to you guys!

Hi all just want to share some good news ,my visa was approved today, I have been studying this thread like iwas studying for an exam lol.
I must say I was a little discouraged by the number of denials given to people with seemingly strong ties.
I am female married, I am a dentist with the Police force applying for visa with my hubby and two kids .we are all first timers to the US one of the kids is his step child, hubby does not have a stable job just trying to start a production company and no travel history ,I was the principal applicant.we were usherd to window 2 a white male visa officer,I preferred it that way I feel the lady officers can be mean lol.
here is the transcript.
Me and hubby---- Goodmorning
VO ---Goodmorning
I handed him our 4 passports
VO---'- so why are you traveling to the states(to no one in particular)
Me --vacation visiting ,tourism
VO-- where in the states
Me--New jersey
VO-who are you going to visit
Me- my sister in law,my husband's sister
Vo-tell me about your job
Me-I am a dental surgeon with the Police force
Vo -turns to hubby what do you do for a living
hubby -I am a producer I work for blackstone productions (at this point hubby is not speaking well because our 2yr old child that he is carrying is scratching his face, so I gently carry her so she won't distract him)
Vo - still to hubby ,how long have you been working there.
hubby--December 1st....
me to hubby -you didn't say the year
Hubby-ermmm last year December
Vo turns to me- what is a pulpectomy ( a question to verify if I am truly a dentist)
Me I answered him well a pulpectomy is so and so forth
VO--have a travelled before
Me -Yes to the uk with the first child (9yrs) 2009 and 2012.I have the previous passports showing my travel history would you like to see them.
VO--Yes please
I give him he scans through and returns it to me,types for a while
VO -how long have you been a dentist
Me-thinking to calculate .......14yrs and I have been at my present Job for 8yrs
VO-looks at my passport, where were you born
Me-Khartoum Sudan
Vo - Are you a citizen of Sudan, why were you born there
Me -No I am not a citizen , I was born there as my father was a career diplomat and he was posted there at the time
Vo- when did you leave Sudan
Me -I left at the age of 2
Vo-have you been back there
Me -No
Vo types for a while and says he will be right back
He calls his colleague they talk for a long while can't hear what they are say ,but my hubby can he late tells me the Vo was asking his colleague how come I was born in Sudan and not having dual citizenship, colleague says ,there is no issue with that ,it happens
Vo-wears his head piece and asks so you are all nigerian citizens
Me and Hubby -yes (I realized that Vo hasn't asked hubby any questions apart from the first one)
VO -takes our 4 passports and put them on the pile and gives us white paper your visa has been approved
Me Thankyou have a nice day
Notes-
My hubby wasn't asked about travel history or any other thing apart from what he does for a living
No documents were requested from us at all
No question about finance .
guess ones experience depends on the Visa officer ,it's very subjective.

Hi guys, i have been reading through this thread for a while my appointment for visa interview is on the 30th of april i submitted my ds 160 on the 7th of March, there is something that is puzzling me though,i have seen some post about the question on travel history on the ds 160, the issue is i didnt come across that question at all, i was only asked about US travel and US visa to which i replied no.There was no question about whether i have travelled out of nigeria before, infact i had to fill another form to be sure i didnt miss the question and i still didnt come across it.
I hope i am not the only one with this issue ,am i on the right track??
