I do know that there are no scholarships for Bachelors and Masters (not quite sure about this). AIT1: I haven’t really make any research on the universities there. I just saw your post and decided to ask about scholarship opportunities in the country. |

Hey guys.
It's been a minute here. I don't know how the current visa process is compared to back then when I applied but I'm willing to provide insights about the visa requirements, TRP, the country and life out here.
I'm not doing this for no monetary gains and I will be replying at my best suited time; you gon have to bear with on that one. I've been away from this thread for so long and I'm willing to provide helpful tips now. 4 years ago, GENTLEKING was there for me on this platform and it's time for me to give back too. |

Chuchu27: There aren't that many jobs in Lithuania and the wages are low by European standards. Infact it has one of the highest emigration rates in Europe and they are more people leaving the country than coming in, a trend that is likely to continue. The plus side is its low and affordable cost of living and relatively low tuition fees, which makes it ideal for students. It is also in the EU and Schengen zone which gives one the opportunity to explore career options in other countries after studies.
But don't think you'll get a job there especially as a foreigner. Study and leave, or explore options in other countries. As regards part time work while studying this will only be possible after one has gotten their TRP ( Temporary Resident Permit) which might not even be issued until your second year. So it's imperative to go with enough funds to cover both your tuition, accommodation and living expenses for atleast a year There are jobs in Lithuania. Most aren't just meant for foreigners. If you are very very skilled in IT and you reside in Vilnius, you are most likely to get a job if you have your TRP handy. Same goes for Kaunas, but the companies in Kaunas do some stereotyping thereby not taking in foreigners (especially third world nationals) as employees. The kinda jobs you can get here if you have the skills is at the international companies like Hostinger, Kayak, Revel Systems, Hella and so on. Most of these companies are based in Vilnius hence why the city has more opportunities than the other counties. If you don't possess any skill, then your options are limited. Probably get a casual work at the minor places like Express Market, LIDL or any other place that you might fit in. And as for the TRP, it depends on how early you apply for it. It's always ready in between 2-3 months. For example, if you apply for your TRP in October, it is most likely to be ready in the coming January. P.S: Make sure you come into the country with enough money to sustain yourself for like 7 months. There are no job guarantees as well, you just have to keep searching and applying. |

Chuchu27: No. Its a VFS center, you submit all the required documents, when the visa has been issued or denied, you will be contacted to come pick up your passport.
No interviews. No. There are interviews. You can be called for an online interview. |

seamanic: When applying for South Africa or Turkey visa self sponsor is good but for Lithuania visa is better you have sponsor because students are not allowed to work above 20hrs weekly during school period which means you can't earn much except you are doing 2 jobs. Your dad should provide the following: Affidavits of sponsors stamp in court or notary public Sponsorship letter Pay slip 3 months Introduction letter from work I.d or international passport of your dad Bank statement Reference letter from bank (optional)
Best route depends on these factors :
1.Availability of appointment date at preferred Lithuania embassy 2. Duration of processing the visiting visa 3. Cost of the visa and expenses in the preferred country 4. Agent free embassy or compulsory to use agent 5. Accurate calculations btw appointment date and visa approval date both in Nigeria and after your interview in the Lithuania embassy (because if you over stay in some country like Turkey you will need to pay some money at point of exit while for South Africa you get banned from entry. 6. Rate of approval in the Lithuania embassy I disagree with some things. Its 6 months bank statement anywhere now and bank reference of your sponsor is very important. They confirm bank statements now. Addition to some things up there, your letter of sponsorship needs to be notarized. |

bankole43: I will basically have 2m in my account and my dad works in hospital, do you know if a letter would be sufficient enough ,? It will state where he works and willingness to support .. last question , what's the best route ? Well, I'd advise you get a sponsor. You can get his bank statement and submit both his and yours on your appointment date. As for the best route, everything is up to God. SA proved worthy this year, have people who got their visa there. Egypt was hard to scale through, a lot of people were denied over there. As for Turkey, haven't seen much people going through there because its hard to get a Turkish visa if you dont have a travel history (People might be using the route but I have no idea) |

Don't pay money to anybody for any purpose. 3. Ask any questions here and you will get response. 4. The main purpose of Nairaland is to help each other, so that others can benefit too, don't be greedy to create a WhatsApp group that ends immediately you get your visa. Sorry for saying this, but how many people have you answered their questions on this portal recently. editorAA: It is unfortunate that people are not being told the rigors behind holding a National D visa to work. When you private chat some in there, they will let you know it's impossible to get a job with national D visa. Yet, they keep encouraging people to come over.
We need to help people out if we are there and know the situation of things better. I don’t know why people like making things look complicated. Lithuania works in a way whereby you can’t work without having your TRP. It’s on every university portal. You get visa, enter Lithuania then apply for TRP. It comes out in 2-4 months. |

The Lithuanian embassy in Russia will not accept your application if you don't have a Russian residence permit. mrLj: then I think this should be the best option as Russian embassy is not known for refusing visa even when you meet the requirements. |
