Before verse 6 was that not imply that he was expressing The Commandment?

"let every husband render unto the wife (not wife or wives but the wife) due benevolence : a.d likewise the wife (not wife and wives) unto the husband (not husband or hisbands)

The wife does not own her body, it belongs to the husband (not husbamd or husnands but the husband) and the husband does not his body but the wife. (not wife or wives but the wife)

And this is The Law, which a just and fair Person like God nust give!

Did you not see that verse 6 is the introduction of verse 7 where Paul disclioses his will?

"i will that all men...?

And through out do you see where he acknowledges a person having wives? Is it not wife/husband he says?

He has told you that it was his opinion but yet you still want to make it the gold standard.

A Bishop must be the husband of one wife…that’s Scripture!

If all men in the church when this statement was made, were all married to a woman, would there be a need to single out the bishop?

You can't say all men should drink water because we all do.

We didn't attend the same school, I have my own school that I attended, and you have yours.
So if I say I have my own school I attended, does that mean I was the only one in the school?

If I tell my friends I can't stay here, I'm going back to my own house, does that mean I'm the only one who lives in the house? Come to think of it, "my own house" doesn't even mean I own the house, it just implies that I have a legal right to use the house. So 40 people can call a house their own house as long as they're legal occupants of the house.

That's the lexical ambiguity I'm talking about.

Jesus never condemned polygamy, most of those in the bible who seemed to condemn it were the overzealous converts who were not even with jesus and tended to apply their personal beliefs in most of their teachings.

Some of the greatest icons in the Bible were polygamists, such as Abraham, Solomon, David etc

And they're all already in heaven while you are here talking about unimportant things like polygamy instead of focusing on the actual teachings of christ like repentance, forgiveness, love etc

One day it would be thier turn and I wouldn't even be bothered.

Food / Re: ₦100 Akpu Costs ₦1,687 In Europe by bomsilaga(m): 9:17pm On Mar 01
UncleAyo:
Here comes another mischievous comparison.

This is the same mistake some groups are doing, by declaring Nigeria as the cheapest country to live. She is cheap if you're making money in other currency, not for the citizens whose earning is based on the #30k ($20) minimum wage.

Minimum wage in Europe is between £500 to £2571 (depends on location)
I.e. #843,500 to #4,337,277

Minimum wage in Nigeria is £17
I.e. #30,000

2571 wraps: A person living in Europe will be able to buy about 2571 pieces of that Akpu with his/her month salary;

300 wraps: while a person living in Nigeria will be able to buy just 300 pieces with his/her month salary

Let's start using our brain before we make unnecessary comparison.

Someone in Nigeria make #174 per hour; which can buy only one akpu while

Someone in Europe makes about £15 per hour which can buy 15 Akpu.

Don't stress yourself too much.
If exchange rate was $1 to N50, we won't be talking about this.

Career / Re: Is 400k Job In Nigeria Worth Staying Or Should I Japa? by bomsilaga(m): 12:24pm On Jan 03
Elsucre24:
I will be 31 this year. Omo the age is scaring me and I keep feeling like I’m not doing enough. I have a stable job in the private sector with a 400k monthly salary. But I still feel the impact of the economy badly. I keep asking myself, at what point will I start living the good live?
I feel stock sometimes because my job is very demanding and I almost do not have time to do other things, mind you I’m in the medical field and I work Mondays to Sundays most times but occasionally I have some Sundays to myself and sometimes a day off during the week. I can’t seem to be able to start a business as a side hustle cause most of the side hustles I can think will demand my presence at least for the first few months and I don’t really have that.
My girlfriend is pregnant, I really wanna keep it but she’s not ready, I’m not even sure I’m ready. The only way she can keep it is if I’m going to get married to her before the pregnancy starts showing and I’m as confused as hell cos I don’t know if I’m ready. She has always been vocal of her plans to japa.
Now that brings me to the idea of Japa too. I mean, I cannot deny that fact that I’m scared of the whole japa stuff cos I don’t know what to expect. Economy doesn’t even allow you save as much as you should. Everything’s just seems very scattered.

Pls I need adult minds to advise me on what I can do.
1. Do I start a business, what kinda business can I start with at least 2M that will not require my full presence?
2. Do I start to plan my japa through the study route and just face my fears
3. Should I insist on keeping the pregnancy and hope that things start making sense? This means I have to get married tho.

Thank y’all.

Hi,
I am genuinely concerned about your case here.
If your medical profession is in MLT or Radiology kindly PM me as I may be able to connect you to who might help you move for FREE.
As for business you will do without your presence, forget about it as I was run down by family and friends and wouldn't even take a gamble with strangers.
Your girl is not the kind of woman that will make it easy for you, whether you japa or stay back. Sorry, it might sound harsh but in the current situation of things in Nigeria, a materialistic woman is the last thing you want by your side.
Also know that with kids, the dynamics change really quickly. The savings I managed to have would have multiplied x10 if I japa as a single person, so think about it wisely. Just 6 months or 1yr hustling outside Nigeria can give you enough money to take care of a family for so long.

Am lending my voice to this thread
https://www.nairaland.com/7922406/wife-why-life-women-complicated#127165126

A couple of days back, my wife put to bed using CS. Initially we had a baby before, I a know how complicated and painful the pregnancy and childbirth was.

Now I was in the theatre during the CS and I saw first hand how someone's abdomen was sliced open and the baby pulled out. I also saw how doctors were putting their hands into someone's abdomen and how they finally stitched her up. It wasn't an easy sight to behold. Right now, she's recovering, but the pain she's passing through is much.

To me, this is the highest form of sacrifice that someone can give for the family.

So to the men and husband out there..... before you ask your wife to be "what she is bringing to table", kindly think about the sacrifice they make in bringing your children to the world.

I can relate.
Since I entered theatre, my respect for women increased.
That's some scary shit going on and men will even demand a particular gender from them

Romance / Re: I Look So Older Than My Age! Will I Ever Get A Man To Marry Me? by bomsilaga(m): 2:21am On Sep 28, 2023
HanisahZuwy:
I don't know if I'll ever get a man to marry me. I look so older than my age. I'm in my twenties, but I look like a 53 years old woman. Even men
and women old enough to be my father and mother will be referring to me as ma. Some of them are even people who are older than me with 30-35 years. Most people doubt me when they ask for my age and I tell them. They feel I'm lying about my age. I feel I'm more than the age I tell them. I know some people look older than their age, but I don't think any could be worse than mine. Mine is that bad!

I don't know why this is so. I don't know why I look so older than my age.Why is it like that? Is there any one here in this kind of situation? How does that make you feel? Please, what can I do to remedy this? Is there anyone here like that? Or am I alone? What do you normally do to help yourself in this situation? I would like to hear from you if you're in this.
I am in the same boat and at first, in my late twenties I felt bad about it but as time went by, I realised I could seal certain deals that a younger looking person wouldn't be able to. They always brush off my age as 'football age' so I always sit at table of no mean men.
I know the situation is different for a woman but just as someone advised above, do not act like the age range they have put you in and try to present the actual age within you, though not forcefully.
However, know that marriage is not the ultimate and try look for a hobby or a passion to distract yourself.

Thanks

Are you saying that parents in Western countries are able to afford these things? Why do students abroad owe school fees? Are you also aware that, while the UK was increasing fees for international students, UK/EU students had their fees reduced? Every Nigerian student you see in the UK pay more than the average UK citizen. Yet these people still find themselves in debt.

Nothing is easy anywhere. I agree that the world has become a global environment but that's actually an advantage to people who want to stay back. I'm sure you're aware that some Nigerians now earn $$$ from Gbagada and Mowe. More so, the idea of education is fast changing.

We are in an era where Elon Musk will pay you $8000 for creating a s**upid content on Twitter.

Some children will grow up wondering why we box them into the 6-3-3-4 thing. As much as we desire the best for them and want to use them to achieve the dreams we couldn't achieve, we should be mindful, so we don't make the same mistakes our fathers made.
Well spoken and I want to add that it really doesn't make common sense that everyone must travel abroad. Persons that have discovered a niche in Nigeria either legally or legally should just stay back and hold fort. Certain professions cannot feed let alone allow investment for the professional. And just so you know, if you are a lizard in Nigeria, abroad cannot automatically make you a crocodile.
That said, I also like to present migration as an investment in itself with dividends not necessarily in physical cash.

I have many friends over there encouraging me to come around, I was asked to do same so I can be working while preparing for AMC, then go back into the health sector. For the sake of your children and your sanity go make money and return to invest. Your children will have topnotch education and exposure, it will be easier to migrate to other climes of your choice and usually withing 4 yrs or so you people will be citizen. This is my story. Please advice.

I sent my wife to Australia in 2021 on student visa.

She has invited us, myself and our children aged 12 and 9 and our visa is out. I have also paid like 6 months fees for my children school which was a requirement for the visa.

Owing to her performance at her work place, the company she works for has promised to sponsor for PR. Infact, the process just began and we are sure of having the PR.

I am currently 48 and won't be able to support my family working in Nigeria. Wify has encouraged me that we will be fine that abroad is meant for 2 people.

My only constraint is my age, hence my question. If you are in my shoe, will you travel?

By the way, I work for a private firm here in Nigeria and you know what it is working for a family company.

Please make the travel. There's job security here and as a PR, you will qualify for free TAFE, look for a course that is not physically demanding and that would no be too much strain as you get older. Mind you, life expectancy here is above 80, so you are just a little above half your life.
If she's paid well, you can survive on a single income.
