Politics › Re: "Check In 2027, You Will Eat Your Words" - El-rufai Replies Netizen Who Said He by BondRiv: 7:19pm On Aug 08, 2025
AMINDA:
Elrufai don't bluff. He's not called the Game Changer for nothing. Whoever thinks he's bluffing should bookmark his tweet and come back to it by 2027. No time for too much talk.
Some of us study, observe and do analysis, not bookmarks. It is not about one man called El-Rufai. The stage is set for a shift in administration no doubt, as all the indices are against the FG. However, if the right steps are not taken, the desired results may not be achieved.

There must be clear messaging and the right leadership to take the people to the next destination. Making the right political calculation that also has the rotation of power between the North and South in mind is also important. APC sorted that out and defeated PDP in 2015. ADC must get their act together before the next election and there's still time for that.

The Oluwasegun fellow begging in the picture you attached is really unfortunate. Instead of telling the president to fix the economy. Continue begging. Even El Rufai can't save Tinubu.

Business › Re: Court Orders Bank To Pay ₦85 Million For Freezing Customer’s Account by BondRiv: 6:47pm On Aug 08, 2025
It is up to the bank, but my advice would be to appeal. Why didn't the Magistrate decline jurisdiction? Whether right or wrong, the bank acted on an order of court and can't be penalised for it. It would have been different, if they acted in the absence of an order of court but that clearly wasn't the case here.
Politics › Re: Sowore’s Lawyers Cry Foul, Allege Life-Threatening Conditions In Police Custody by BondRiv: 6:34pm On Aug 08, 2025
FG should stop chasing shadows and release Sowore. The IGP ought to have retired long ago. What a shame.
Travel › Re: NCAA To Blacklist KWAM1 From Flying In Nigeria For 6 Months by BondRiv: 7:21pm On Aug 07, 2025
It is not enough. He should face criminal charges. Are there no security agents at the airport? Why wasn't he whisked away? The nonsense we let people get away with in this country portrays us as unserious and corrupt. Not good for the image of the country.
Travel › Re: Video Of Kwam1 Resting His Body On ValueJet Plane To Prevent It From Taxiing by BondRiv: 6:12pm On Aug 07, 2025
He ought to be arrested. That is how you prevent any future occurrence of this madness.
Politics › Re: 2027: Jonathan Ready To Run Again, Close Ally Confirms by BondRiv: 6:00pm On Aug 07, 2025
Who are those longing for this man? Why do some Nigerians desire past leaders who underperformed? Amnesia, Stockholm Syndrome or sheer irresponsibility? Jonathan is done. His chapter of the presidency is closed.
Politics › Re: Bashir Jamoh: El-Rufai Is Still An APC Member, We Consult Him For Advice by BondRiv: 5:36pm On Aug 07, 2025
El Rufai's resignation from APC was in the news. A person can't be a member of two political parties at the same time.

Advising a government as a patriot is different from advising a political party. If he is still entangled with APC, then he is deceiving himself.

It is unfortunate that the speaker sees nothing wrong with this.

Properties › Re: Pay Security Fee Or Be Arrested, Legal Or Illegal? by BondRiv: 8:32am On Aug 07, 2025
DrAda:
And why will you refuse to pay?

If you are uncomfortable with the amount, then call the community head and ask him what they intend to use the money for.

I don't know of any security personnel that will accept 15k per month as their salary. Their lives are literally on the line and they spend some of their nights on duty as well. We live in a country where we can't trust our local police and government to do the needful, so engaging these security outfits is non-negotiable or do you have a better alternative?

As for arresting people who won't pay, that's going a little bit overboard. In my residential area, what they do is to prevent defaulters from leaving the gated area with their personal vehicles until proof of payment is shown.

To those insisting that this is all wrong, I ask you all, WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE? This initiative is not perfect and can potentially breed and foster fraudulent acts, but then again, WHAT BETTER ALTERNATIVE DO WE ALL HAVE? If we truly want to address this head on, we should start by holding our government accountable. In the interim, your politicians, bishops, national/local pastors, MDs, CEOs and privileged classmates are all moving around with private security outfits.

@Op Pay the security fee.
It is illegal. The amount is immaterial. What is the job of the Governor and Local Government Chairman? He cannot be arrested for refusing to pay that illegal fee.

Same Russia that couldn't defeat Ukraine for how many years despite boasting that they'll whip Ukraine in few days before the war. Lwkm. grin grin cheesy

If not for threats of Nukes that the west and US are avoiding, what can Russia (that it's military strength and morale is weakened) do?
You need more information. Ukraine has never been alone in this war. This has always been a proxy war between NATO and Russia. That is the reason it has gone on this long.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Orders Nuclear Submarines To Russia by BondRiv:
Lindsey is a sycophant doing his thing, while Medvedev tweeted plainly.

I saw a short from The Economist on YouTube about how Trump has started a fight that America can't win with his tariffs. Now he is talking about nuclear submarines. I found John Bolton's view on this quite interesting.

Not to also forget that his MAGA base is disillusioned and asking for the Epstein files. Trump thrives in distraction and confusion.

Politics › Re: Kemi Badenoch Compares Her Nigerian Boarding School Experience To Prison by BondRiv: 8:55pm On Aug 02, 2025
Is it not Kemi? Nothing good ever happened to her in Nigeria. Always the hate and negative energy. She is in paradise, until you listen to the likes of Corbyn and Sultana. I really do not want to be reading about this woman here. Let her focus on her British family.

Really funny, since he is an appointee of Tinubu, like that Cardoso he seems to have sworn not to remove. This mess of an economy is an impediment to his second term ambition.
Politics › Re: Any Politician Promising To Serve One Term Needs Psychiatric evaluation - Soludo by BondRiv: 8:35pm On Aug 02, 2025
Myopic thinking. Underneath lies a man obsessed with power. Though the constitution provides for two terms, is there a compulsion to do same? Is anyone guaranteed a second term? The utterances of a man without wisdom and vision.
Politics › Re: Kemi Badenoch: I No Longer Identify As Nigerian by BondRiv: 8:22pm On Aug 02, 2025
It is fine. Just stop milking us for political gain. If I were living in the U.K. and she was on the ballot for PM, I would vote for Corbyn. Zara Sultana is the human she should aspire to be. Between Kemi and Farage, I would choose Farage.

Politics › Re: Bashir El-rufai Admits Peter Obi Is The Best Candidate To Defeat Tinubu by BondRiv: 10:14pm On Jul 31, 2025
I don't take seriously the analysis of anyone, who thinks Atiku has a chance to win the presidential election as a candidate in 2027. That was his major impediment in 2023, where he attempted to succeed Buhari.

This is a Southern slot. I don't know the type of advisers he has. Perhaps, he is not listening to them. They are usually surrounded by sycophants, although his desperation cannot be ignored.

2031 is his best chance, if he can be patient. Else he will still contest and lose.

They are always in a hurry to grab power, only to end up struggling to improve the country with it.
Politics › Re: Adewale Adeniyi: Tinubu Extends Tenure Of Customs Comptroller-General by BondRiv: 9:50pm On Jul 31, 2025
seunmsg:
Absolute rubbish. Again, this is bad for the system. It kills moral and leads to unfair stagnation of staff. Every appointed public servant should leave at the age of 60 so that others can move up. If those ahead of Adewale did not retire, how would he have gotten to the position of CGC? Now that he’s there, he has behind a sit tight officer and denying others the opportunity to advance their career. This is totally unacceptable.
The blame rests with the president who made a bad decision.
Politics › Re: Adewale Adeniyi: Tinubu Extends Tenure Of Customs Comptroller-General by BondRiv: 9:48pm On Jul 31, 2025
That is where you will see prompt action. The only thing easy for the so-called leaders to do is continue a bad trend. If you bring up the economy now, they will all disappear.
Politics › Re: Aliyu Babangida: If We Tolerated Buhari For 8 Years, Let’s Try Tinubu Till 2031 by BondRiv: 9:33pm On Jul 31, 2025
This man is simply comfortable with the status quo. The constant talk of rotation is stale. Time to focus on substance. Any informed person in Nigeria knows any Southerner succeeding Tinubu ought to do only 4 years.

Are there people whose job it is to provide alternatives? Is he not a Nigerian like the others? Some people just like complaining. There have always been alternatives. It appears what is in vogue is the bashing of ADC. No one wants to do the hard work. Tinubu might as well remain there for you people to continue doing the complaining you love so much.

In the UK, Corbyn and others are starting a new party. Here, people prefer to just complain and sit on their hands. It is not difficult to see when a government has a direction. At least, Buhari tried to fight corruption. Even though we can say his administration didn't live up to expectations.

What we have in Nigeria are successive administrations with no meaningful impacts. Even if it is the electricity issue, fix it and leave. Four years is enough for any president who truly wanted to fix this country to make a significant difference. Not all these "it is my turn" people who want political power only for the sake of it.
