What I mean "everything going well" is Amaewhule winning the case, the only smear been the defection. (that's why they wanted to withdraw it).
Understanding is key. A bit rich coming from you, considering you obviously don't understand what you expressed. I'm not buying it, but if truly you were trying to convey what you claim now, then you need to learn how to do it effectively. That you conceived it that way in your head, doesn't mean that was what you expressed. |

The calibre of leaders in our military and intelligence agencies and the way they reason ehn... Don't mind them. This man in particular is certainly not intelligent. His submission shows why Nigeria is in this condition. He even suggested they should be forced. Why would you even want to force anyone to join such an agency? They should do so freely out of passion and patriotism. People who reason like him shouldn't occupy such positions. Yes, certain skills can be useful, but it isn't just about having a first class degree or whatever. Even in the U.S., they train their staff. |

2. They swore to an affidavit on December 2023 that they have defected to the APC as a result of the internal divisions in the PDP. An affidavit is a written statement or affirmation on oath before the Court.[ It is a written testimony or evidence in Court which lying on oath is perjury. (See Section 118 of the Criminal Code)
https://www.nairaland.com/8149356/rivers-assembly-crisis-affidavit-sworn#130877767
4. They tried to secretly withdraw that affidavit after realizing their folly; https://www.nairaland.com/8254171/pro-wike-rivers-lawmakers-secretly-withdraw#132667420
The suit of defection has never been decided or tested before any Court since this saga. Justice Donatus Okorowo (now in the Appeal Court) granted an ex-parte injunction on the suit but no judgement until today. Ex-partes always have a finite period. The defection case as we speak is before a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.
This is the issue. What is the Supreme Court ruling on re-presentation of the 2024 budget? None because there was neither any ruling nor judgement. This was what the appellant wanted so that the Supreme Court does not make a pronouncement and the matter will continue to delay. The Supreme Court on the request of the appellant, simply struck out the appeal. Now, what did the Appeal Court say? Amaewhule should receive the 2024 not 2025 budget. The Court cannot overreach itself, it circumscribes itself to the matter before it.
Let me ask you, what do you think has held them back from going forward with the impeachment? They know better.
Let me tell you, it is easier for Tinubu to order a State of Emergency than for this Senate to take over. This is Rivers, not Ekiti and the Governor is been advised the reason why he has continuously refrained from violence (at least based on what he says, I don't know what he does inside).
Assembly members didn't do their jobs for four years curtsy Obaseki, what did the Senate do?
NB: Everything under Amaewhule was going well until the defection.... I will reference you to a decision by the full bench of the Supreme Court in Abegunde v Ondo House of Assembly in 2015.
A full bench of the Supreme Court of Nigeria is 7, any decision made by the full bench can only be upturned by another full bench of that Court.
Abegunde was a HoR member representing Akure N/S, he had issues and factions with then Gov Mimiko and he defected. Hear the Supreme Court:-
The Supreme Court said, you lose your seats immediately.
The CFRN says Shall i.e. mandatory If you lack the requisite knowledge of the issues in question, avoid topics like this. You stated falsely that "NB: Everything under Amaewhule was going well until the defection...." Obviously false because when Fubara and his co conspirators destroyed the assembly building due to the fear of the commencement of impeachment proceedings, there was no "defection". The following day, the wanted felon, Edison Ehie, declared himself as the speaker. Get your facts right. |

In a sane environment, the clueless neophyte called Fubara would have resigned long ago and thereafter face criminal charges in court. The dismissal of the case by the Supreme Court means that he has been operating without a budget. It's funny how simple issues are made to seem complicated in Nigeria. Even more embarrassing, was the reason put forward by the clowns with the governor, encapsulated in the words "overtaken by events". A display of foolishness and self-indictment.
Prior to the fear of impeachment, which spurred the criminal conspiracy by Fubara and his supporters that culminated in the destruction of the assembly complex, who was the speaker? Did that ever change?
Overnight, Edison Ehie, infamously declared himself a factional speaker. This was the genesis of all the dramas being acted in courts today, especially the Rivers State judiciary, where shameless members have allowed themselves to be used as reckless tools for lawlessness.
Now you have the clown Jumbo doing the same thing. Amaewhule has always been and remains the Speaker of the house. The significance of the dismissal of the case by the Supreme Court, aside the obvious one which is that there was no budget, is that Fubara can be prosecuted for those funds spent after he leaves office.
He has two options now: He can either retrace his steps by presenting subsequent budgets to the House presided over by Martin Amaewhule or continue breaking laws for which he will be prosecuted later. His impeachment proceedings ought to have commenced long ago. |
