Christianity EtcRe: The Importance Of Morning Prayer by bong4(m): 8:49am On Feb 22
Cashylyx:
Commit your day to God first before anything , have you heard the saying "early birds eat the worm". I wake up early to go for morning mass at my Catholic church, and I got so many deliverance, my day went the way I want it, I was in control unlike before , I have no direction , today this , tomorrow it is this .not knowing because I did not seal my day with the Lord. Amen.
I thought by morning prayer you meant having a personal prayer meeting with God, not knowing you are all about going to church in the morning.
Christianity EtcRe: We Went To Beg Oyedepo For School Fees — Nurse Shares Why He Almost Quit Church by bong4(m): 6:02am On Feb 22
alphonsojidebab:
A Nigerian nurse has recounted an emotional experience from 2016 involving renowned cleric David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, revealing how the encounter nearly shook his faith and commitment to church attendance.

The man, identified on social media platform X as @Nrs_Danie, narrated that he had struggled for years to secure admission into the Lagos State School of Nursing, succeeding only after his fourth attempt. However, his joy was short-lived as he lacked the ₦230,000 required to pay tuition, with school authorities giving him just one month before forfeiting the admission. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to his account, he and his mother, who lived in Abule Egba area of Lagos, left home as early as 5 a.m. to travel to Sango Ota, Ogun State, where the church headquarters is located, hoping to seek financial assistance from the cleric.

He explained that they had been active members of the church for about three years, participating in services, prayers, and fasting programmes, which strengthened their belief that they might receive support.

They reportedly positioned themselves along the route where the bishop would pass before his morning service, waiting for an opportunity to speak with him.

When the cleric eventually arrived, the man said he and his mother rushed forward to plead for help but were stopped by security personnel.

He claimed that the bishop responded by advising them to apply for a bursary from the Lagos State Government instead.

The response, he said, left him devastated, considering the emotional and physical effort it took to gain admission after several attempts.

The nurse admitted that the incident affected him deeply and almost caused him to question his faith in God. However, he later came to the realization that religious leaders are human and that faith should be centered on God rather than individuals.

He emphasized that leaving church because of a pastor’s action would mean one’s faith was misplaced.

Despite the disappointment, he eventually completed his nursing education without financial assistance from the cleric and now works abroad as a nurse.

Reflecting on his journey, he said the experience strengthened his belief that personal faith and determination are more important than reliance on any religious figure.

People can look at it from different angles depending in their orientation. You were directed to the Lagos State Government to seek for bursary, and you were disappointed. I am sure all the direct and indirect tax your mum and even yourself have been paying should qualify you for one. You could as well approach any beverage company you have been patronising to see if they would render help, since tithes and offerings qualify you automatically for help from churches. What is good for the geese is good for the gander.

PoliticsRe: Inflation Not On Private Jets - Sowore Knocks Oshiomhole by bong4(m): 9:19am On Feb 04
Dalohad:
Oshiomhole is the biggest disappointment this country has ever produced..

He was an ordinary tailor at the Textile mills when he became NLC president.

When OBJ was dragging him like a common thief for resisting the increase of pump price, and declaring total strike action, everybody fought for him.

Even the Late Sage and activist Gani Fahwehmi defended him and declared that only Adams could save this country, and recommended him to run for presidency in 2007..

Infact Gani formed the National Conscience Party and asked Adams to come take the party's Presidential ticket free of charge. Labour Party also declared Adams their candidate.

Adams entered politics and became one of the most cruel and anti-people politicians ever seen in Nigeria..

Today he supports every anti-people policy enacted by the govt. All the the political vices he fought as NLC president against Govt, he now supports and even indulge.

I wonder how late Gani would feel, if he were still alive. I bet he would be turning in his grave today, seeing what Adams have become..

A big pity.
Very shameful and disappointing man, Oshiomole is. The current NLC leader is even better. At least we know that one is an ass licker but Oshiomole is a very dangerous ursurper and opportunist. He has really disappointed a lot of comrades.

With respect to Peter Obi, the man has been able to overcome greed. I don't like him or his over perfect attitude but I respect his choices and reasoning..my only problem is just his lousy tribesmen. They desperately want him to be President not because they want him to succeed but because Obi has traits of being a bigot. I wish he can convince me otherwise. But as per discipline and contentment, the man is rare. God be with him.
Jesus with all His perfection was still hated by some people. We prefer our slave drivers to those who can liberate us from mental slavery. You put Obi and bigotry in a sentence, but still settle for those who stink of bigotry.

PoliticsRe: Sowore Calls Governor Eno "A Masquerade" Who Should Be Arrested by bong4(m): 12:31am On Dec 04, 2025
WorkTheTalk:
Sowore, masquerades don't have any business in cities and urban areas. They are supposed to operate in rural areas, but not in cities to harassment and extortion money from people.

The masquerades in Akwa Ibom state use machetes, bow and arrows. Some are known to use other dangerous weapons to snatch properties, motorcycles, and even cars. Many of the masquerades are armed robbers. Many of their activities had caused road accidents and death in the past. I grew up there, and I know that they had long became a menace to the society.

Read:
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has signed an Executive Order banning masquerade displays on streets and major highways across the state.

‎The move, according to the governor, follows rising incidents of harassment, extortion and public disturbances linked to masquerade activities in several communities.

‎He directed the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to enforce full compliance.

By my office as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, I am issuing an order that anyone caught will be arrested and prosecuted. They have used it to cause havoc in some local governments.

‎”As the chief security officer of the State, I am directing the commissioner of police and other security agencies to arrest and prosecute masquerades. Let it stop terrorising people, and let people have peace,” Eno stated.

The governor stressed that while he respects the state’s cultural heritage, no tradition should cause harm or infringe on the rights of citizens.

Source
If there was no clear definition of what a "masquerade" is, then there could be a problem in the law court. If the so called offense committed is because the guy covered himself, then he should be able to walk away free, as there are several people who cover themselves walking all over the place, except the guy was caught harrassing people in the public.
