This outdated method not only endangers the lives of officers but also puts innocent citizens at risk.

In today’s digital age, there are smarter and safer ways to enforce traffic laws. Why not simply capture the vehicle’s plate number and send a fine to the registered owner via SMS or email, along with photo or video evidence of the offence? If the offender refuses to pay, the government can legally deduct double the fine through their Bank Verification Number (BVN). This would reduce chaos and ensure accountability.

This needless loss of life must serve as a wake-up call. We cannot continue to operate in the same reckless manner and expect better outcomes. The government and heads of agencies must take responsibility and embrace technology for safer, more efficient law enforcement. It's time to think forward and prioritize the safety of all Nigerians, especially our children.

I actually observed this last week. I have a radio app that comes up automatically by 4am with VOA Africa news service (more like my alarm), but for a while it was just music and music. I will tune to Radio Garden and get the same thing until I googled and found out it had to do with Trump's administration's policy of debundling some governmental agencies with staffs placed on compulsory leave.
