Meet Salima Mukansanga a 33 year old Rwandan who has made history as the first female referee at the African Cup of Nations. Salima was amongst the 63 match officials who were listed to officiate at the tournament and she is one of four women on the list, though the only woman to referee a match.

Salima has also refereed in several other matches like the 2019 FIFA world cup in France, CAF Women's Champions League, Africa Women Cup of Nations and going ahead to become the first woman to referee at the AFCON men's match.
