philipobiz:The route is city center to Maraba |
Read the thread, the tech by Nairaxi can be used on any regular bus. Transit card is also used in Lagos brt so it is not new |
Nice2023:Check around civil service secretariat around central area in the afternoon daily |
9400 passengers * 1500 per trip * 365 days in one year = 5.1 B per year Divide it by 450B the project cost. It will take us 90+ years to pay back. Factor in maintenance cost, loan interest and salaries that bumps you up to 150+ years. Truth is rail is important but fix it where the demand is. 9400 + passengers a day doesn’t make economic sense to venture into such a humongous project. Numbers never lie |
Asiwaju is the next president, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Make room in your subconscious mind for the above factual statement. Don’t be like our parents that ended up hating Nigeria because they didn’t get their way. You will die bitter if you don’t love the country you call home. God bless Nigeria #BAT23 ****** I wrote this on this platform some weeks ago. Happy it played out. Please Nigerians let’s play politics without bitterness. The opposition parties have their selves to blame; even a toddler can understand the numbers. You can’t win disunited ! Even if you give Labour Party all the votes from Lagos and Portharcourt they can’t win so what is the fuss. Understanding gives light and light gives clarity. Congratulations His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu and amiable Vice His Excellency Kashim Shettima. I doff my cap to your sagacity; from your Tinubu/Shettima-NAIRAXI transit card beneficiaries |

Who else can’t wait for this election to be over? Asiwaju portrait has been designed ready to be on my wall BAT23 #capacity |
BAT23 Hate him or love him, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari gave the country a solid foundation for future growth. I am an engineer and during a building project the foundation could take months , even years to complete and during the process it feels daunting and like a total waste of time and resources. It cost more effort and energy but to get to the lintel stage can be accomplished in just days once the foundation is completed. This analogy applies to this current administration, in the sense that before a country can prosper, you must get the fundamentals right. Buhari tried in these areas 1. Equipping the military 2. Rail Infrastructure 3. AKK pipeline project 4. Revamping NNPC 5. Political will to deliver infrastructural projects Among others The areas I will criticize him are the following: 1. In a bid to satisfy his friends that helped him win the election as president, he handed appointment to individuals that are not qualified for the said roles. We need round pegs in round holes! 2. Due to his ill and fragile health, he lacked that hands on approach to monitor projects that he rightfully signed off on. He is a righteous man but his inadequacy to follow through made corruption to thrive 3. He lacked that empathy to mellow down to unite the country better. Blame this on his stern military background. Let me stop here but whoever wins the next presidential elections will have it 1000% easy as the painful foundation stage has been built. I see a prosperous Nigeria in the coming months. |

luckyz4rea:From the article and if you took your time to watch the video documentary, this project has been in the works for years now. It is true that the timing is coming a bit late but that shouldn’t take away from the tenets and pros of the project. We Nigerians are so funny. We pray for leaders that will take concrete and decisive steps to solve real world problem and when we see a visionary like Asiwaju with ideas and works in motion …we criticize and question the intentions behind the solutions. The question is between the fantasies going on in your mind vs real world proven track record of excellence which do you prefer? Transportation is a basic human need and Asiwaju is already taking steps to solving the bottlenecks that has plagued Road transport in Nigeria and our 6 Trillion bloated fuel subsidy dilemma even before his presidency so that gives you a clue to how proactive he will be as a leader. |

Nasreports77:This should solve the problem of fuel subsidy. Futuristic, Brilliant…Progressive. |
Bola Hamed Tinubu is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Congrats to Asiwaju in advance. |
owagbeba:Don’t underestimate transportation. It is the second most expensive item on everyone’s budget just after the cost of housing. Wealth is created for citizens through cost saving schemes like this that raise the overall quality of life. (Decongestion, clean air quality etc) It is a low hanging fruit for the government to tackle and BAT is on course. |
owagbeba:In simple terms, almost every first country in country in the world subsidizes transportation for the sake of public good. In UK, it stands at around 35%, in Luxembourg it’s completely 100% free. We will spend less than the current bloated subsidy that’s the point I am making. As for Alphabeta, a consulting company that help boost IGR to over N50B naira annually rightfully deserves a certain percentage out of it. Basic Capitalism. |
FavouredNK:In what capacity can he do so if he hasn’t held public office since this current administration? This is a prelude to innovations which Nigerians stand to benefit from if he emerges victorious |
Everlastingson:Who introduced the current functional BRT system master plan in Lagos? Answer: BAT. Don’t hate…be inspired |
crusufixo:Did he occupy any public office? Since the last 7 years? Now it is his turn and he is showing you his abilities. Commend it! |
owagbeba:From empirical data, Fuel subsidy benefits the rich. Diesel and Aviation Fuel is deregulated. For example let’s say the government procures buses and taxis through initiatives like this and hand it over to credible operators to run and the total cost for one year is 3 trillion, while subsidies that has no real-time data cost 6 trillion. As a leader which route will you take ? That’s the Genius of BAT. Give kudos to whom it’s due irrespective of political ideology |
jclassiq:Be objective for once. Will this benefit people? Answer is Yes. I am sure no one will force you to vote any candidate. |
owagbeba:I love your humility. For starters scheme that focus on “MASS MOBILITY” of people and shared mobility for private individuals tend to drastically reduce operational cost. One bus can move over 1000 passengers in a day which invariably reduces the number of cars needed and greenhouse effect. For shared mobility it’s the same. Imagine how much the likes of Uber and Bolt are siphoning from our economy. If we can retain that in Nigeria we are talking about trillions and jobs for our teeming youth population. |
owagbeba:Please be smart. Fuel subsidy is almost 6 trillion…that’s a six with a “T”. If we invest half of that on schemes like this Nigeria will be like Luxembourg |
