hafeeanubasy:And who is stopping you from going to US to investigate that? Enemies of Nigeria. Hand will soon catch all of you guys one by one it is getting closer. |
BlackViper:PO is 💯 right. Why invest $1 billion in Lagos ports alone when we have other ports in the country that urgently need maintenance and upgrades? It's all because of politics, and you're undermining another avenue to generate huge taxes for the government. |
hotseat:Speak for yourself nobody is joining you guys to speak in one voice. You guys have suddenly remembered that we are all one Nigeria. |
Timmi:He is right. You guys needs a serious orientation. This is pathetic. |
Blizzy300:He always talks like a lunatic; you'll wonder if he's a real professor. |
It is because 90% of the news are always propaganda with no positive effects on the citizens. "4 Months After Tinubu Launched N50 BN Tractor Initiative, Tractors Remain Unused" And you expect us to clap for APC when we hear such news again?
|
Kushites:All of you who claim to be patriots but are enemies of Nigeria will be exposed one by one. This is just the beginning. |
Chimookigwe:And what will be the charge? Peaceful protest is a basic human right. They will be released if they haven't been already. The lone protester in Lagos have been released. |
Jokerman:Without unity, forget about development, even in 200 years. I thought this govt would bring Nigerians together, give everyone a sense of belonging, but nope. It's turned out to be the biggest divider in our history. |
bigpicture001:He's working for the APC government; do you think he's acting alone? He's on an assignment. The APC will likely frustrate the court until nothing good comes out. |
No sane person takes your rubbish seriously anymore. Only your brainless followers and wannabes fall for your nonsense. Useless political Jobber. |
At least sixteen senior military officers have been detained by the Armed Forces of Nigeria for allegedly planning a coup d’etat to overthrow President Bola Tinubu, top sources have told SaharaReporters. A coup d'état is an overt attempt by a military organisation or other government elites to unseat an incumbent person or leadership. While the Nigerian military in a statement few days ago claimed the detention of the officers was linked to "repeated failure in promotion examinations and perceived career stagnation", top sources revealed that they were actually arrested over a coup plot. “The Armed Forces of Nigeria wishes to inform the public that a routine military exercise has resulted in the arrest of sixteen officers over issues of indiscipline and breach of service regulations,” the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau had said in an ambiguous statement. “Investigations have revealed that their grievances stemmed largely from perceived career stagnation caused by repeated failure in promotion examinations, among other issues. “Some of the apprehended officers had been under jurisdiction for various offences, either awaiting or undergoing trial. Their conduct was deemed incompatible with the standards of military service.” However, a senior official of the Defence Intelligence Agency involved in the arrest told SaharaReporters that the officers led by an Army Brigadier General were planning to stage a coup and take over government from “selfish politicians”. He said the coup attempt was thwarted after an intelligence gathering by the DIA and sister agencies. “The 16 officers were planning a coup. The military authorities were just being diplomatic in the statement released by the spokesperson. They have started doing secret meetings on how to overthrow the President and other top government officials,” the source told SaharaReporters. “They're all officers within the rank of Captain to Brigadier-General and are still in detention at DIA as we talk. They were picked recently at their various houses around the country. Their main objective was to overthrow President Tinubu and announce a military government.” Another source added that the October 1 Independence Day parade was cancelled because of the coup attempt. He said, “Yes, they were arrested for planning to stage a coup and take over government. That was the main reason why the Independence Day parade scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 1 as part of activities marking the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary was cancelled. “This was because intelligence reports showed they planned the coup on October 1st during a military parade. So the National Security Adviser and other service chiefs asked the Tinubu-led government to cancel the parade earlier scheduled to mark the day. “Their plan was to shoot at the President and other top politicians during the event. The move by the military authorities announcing their arrests was to douse tension.” Since Nigeria became independent in 1960, there have been five successful military coups. Recently, there have been allegations of corruption in the military which some of the officers and soldiers have blamed for their loss of interest in the country's military. The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has issued a stern call on Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, to immediately apprehend and prosecute the herders responsible for the recent violent attack on Chief Oniyide Olubayo, the Baale of Balogun Village in Yewa North Local Government Area. A Baale is usually appointed by an Oba (king) to oversee a village, settlement, or smaller community within a kingdom. According to the group, Olubayo was reportedly attacked on Tuesday by herders while returning from Ilaro. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the village head had stopped by the roadside upon seeing a heated dispute between a group of farmers and herders. In a bid to mediate and calm the rising tension, one of the herders allegedly launched an attack, slashing Olubayo’s elbow with a cutlass before fleeing the scene. In a statement released on Friday and jointly signed by the Convener, Olusola Badero, and the Home Director, Princess Balogun, the Yoruba Union condemned what it described as the persistent failure of both the state government and security agencies to tackle the growing menace of herders’ violence across the state. “For far too long, Fulani herders have been terrorising our people. They invade farmlands, destroy crops, assault our farmers, and when challenged, they resort to brutal attacks — maiming, killing, and sometimes raping our women. Yet, no one has been held accountable,” the statement read. The union lamented that despite several reports of such attacks in remote communities across Yewa, Imeko, and other parts of the state, the state government had shown what it called “a disturbing level of indifference.” It accused Governor Abiodun and the police commissioner of maintaining “complicit silence” while Yoruba ancestral lands continued to come under threat. “Why should people migrating from other regions invade our homeland, destroy our farms, and harm our people, while the governor and police authorities remain silent?” the group queried. “If the governor and the police commissioner are not complicit through their inaction, they should immediately arrest those who attacked Chief Oniyide and bring them to justice.” The Yoruba Union emphasised that the Yoruba people, known for their civility and respect for law and order, should not be mistaken for cowards. It said the community’s patience was wearing thin and warned that continued attacks could force locals to resort to self-help measures. “Our people deserve dignity and respect. We are Omoluabi — law-abiding citizens — but we will not continue to fold our arms while invaders destroy our lands and livelihoods. The government must act now, or the people will take measures to defend themselves,” they said. The group urged the state government to adopt modern ranching policies, aiming to curb open grazing and prevent future conflicts between farmers and herders. It noted that cattle rearing is a private business and should not come at the expense of other citizens’ safety or livelihood. “Ogun State is not a banana republic. It is a Yoruba-speaking state with its heritage and traditions. If herders must rear cows, they should build ranches and operate within the law,” the statement stressed. Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá warns that if Governor Abiodun continues to show indifference to the repeated attacks on innocent citizens, he should resign from office and allow someone capable of defending the lives and properties of Ogun residents to take charge. “For years, our people have suffered attacks from herders without justice. If the governor cannot protect his people, he should step aside. The safety and dignity of the Yoruba people are non-negotiable," it said. The union also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and civil society groups in Ogun and across the Southwest to unite in demanding concrete action against what it termed “a sustained threat to Yoruba territorial integrity. press9jatv:How is he wicked? They are his children also and the man will be in better position to take care of them. |
FarahAideed:20yrs is far. The break up is less than 10yrs from now. |
tosyne2much:Please speak for yourself. I dont sign documents without reading. |
jamafa:I don't get it, is tribalism blinding you guys or what? Are you saying you'll sign a document without reading it or asking what's in it? Your education seems useless if you sign without understanding. You should be ashamed. |
We dont care again. Whatever that is happening in Nigeria now is none of our business. All our energy and tactics is on how to deal with PO for now. |
Nobody's talking about the crumbling economy or the insecurity that's ravaging the whole country. All I hear about is PO every day! One would wonder if he's now the president. What's really going on in Nigeria? This country is getting scarier by the day. Na wah ooo! |
Alliswell248:STFU! What he said is the truth. Enemies of Nigeria claiming patriotic. What is the work of the Army and other security agencies? They should be doing more than just collecting salaries if they can't secure one state. |
I'm appalled that there are still people backing this APC government. The state of the nation is disheartening, and I fear for its future. It's disconcerting to see things heading in this direction with no visible respite. |
Fake news. Trying so hard to justify nonsense. |
The Katsina State Government has commenced a peace dialogue with armed bandits in Kakumi town, Bakori Local Government Area, as part of renewed efforts to restore lasting peace in the state’s troubled axis. The meeting, which began on Sunday, reportedly involves representatives of at least five local government areas, namely Bakori, Kankara, Funtua, Kafur, and Malumfashi, all of which have been affected by recurrent bandit attacks in recent years. Meanwhile, the dialogue aims to broker a ceasefire and secure commitments from the armed groups to halt hostilities in the affected communities. However, details of the discussions remain sketchy. Katsina, one of the states hardest hit by banditry in northwest Nigeria, has in the past experimented with peace deals with mixed outcomes. SaharaReporters previously reported that despite failing to renounce their criminal activities or surrender their weapons following a peace agreement with the Katsina State Government, the Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government Area, Engr. Sagir Tanimu, recently attended the wedding ceremony of children belonging to some of the bandits in the state. The event, held weeks after the peace pact, was reportedly part of ongoing reconciliation efforts between the government and the bandit groups operating in the area. Tanimu was said to have also joined Fulani residents in the forest for the wedding in Kadawan Dandume village, a community recently reconciled with the local authorities after years of violent clashes. Those who accompanied the council chairman to the event included the representative of the Emirate, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello Kogo, the Prince of Kogo Emirate in Katsina, and the District Head of Sabuwa. However, residents warn that true reconciliation can only be achieved when armed groups formally renounce violence and lay down their weapons.
