Congratulations.
No eligibility update all through?

LadyBlaq:
You all are the real MVPs. Lekiboe, Frank, Anon, Uzomachukwu, Baphil, Lianna, Shuppy, my darling Sis Bisola, infact, all of you, God will continue to bless you all. Special shout out to Oga Seun for creating this impactful forum, i am happy to have known this great family...

So, Australia was my first choice because i couldn't dare try Canada, I had heard of their strict study visa assessments. I spent a lot of money with different agents as most schools in Australia would never deal directly with students. I finally settled with a school in NSW and boom, Corona happened and their borders have been closed since then.

I had no choice but to try the almighty Canada and trust me, my anxiety and preconceived fear of their stringent rules got a better part of me because, my application was messssssyyyyyyyyy!!!!

1) After submitting my app, i read on here that i shouldn't have done a money gift deed, especially when the gift-er isn't related to me, moreover, some folks said they haven't seen any study visa getting approved with a money gift deed by a gift-er who isn't part of the family. Guess what! they were right because my application would be the first they'd see. I am self sponsored applicant and the bulk of my fund was gifted by my late father's friend. Even though we don't share the same blood and name, we had something more than that, we had the commitment and bond. So i had him do a money gift deed(10m), which he paid into my account in bulk, sometime in February. I dug up old pictures of himself and late father, old pictures of himself and myself when i was younger, letter he wrote to me in place of popsy during my graduation in 2013, financial statement histories between myself, momsy and him, from different banks and as old as 2014. I also had him write a support letter and explain why he had to make such commitments, using his Company's letter headed paper.

2) In the bid to achieve the much needed mb capacity, i had shredded lots of documents off my application and eventually ended up tampering with my transcript. I reported myself here on Nairaland, hoping to get some hope or outright condemnation. Lol, i was told to resend the transcript and beg them not to misunderstand my intention, and then hope for the best outcome. Uzomachukwu, on the contrary, opined to be concise and not beg for their mercy as though i have done something "hideous". Eventually, she helped my with a well structured mail and i sent it to IRCC via webform. Baphil also reached out and re-compressed my files, she produced a much clearer file even with the additional missing pages. I don't know how she did it but i was wowed and i sent my files afresh via email.

3) Not a single ghost update till this morning. From what i read here, i guess i didn't really get any ghost update since my status remained "submitted", until this morning when i saw "your status updated". At a point i was praying for any kind of update, lollllllll.

One month and few days after my application, i requested for my GCM notes on 24th May, it came in yesterday, 23rd June. I hoped to tackle any negative feedback via webform but i was disappointed as i couldn't understand anything there and it seemed empty. Nairalanders said otherwise and i should brace myself for a positive feedback, Anon also assured me that a positive decision was coming soon since it was noted at the tail end of the notes, IRCC called my school to re-affirm the validity of my LOA. Even with all these, i remained skeptical, a little pessimistic and a little hopeful

This morning, as i logged in as per my usual ritual, I saw correspondence letter and PPR request sitting pretty on my page long before a mail dropped.
My application was tacky at best, i couldn't pray to save myself, i guess the prayers and good wishes of everyone and my family&friends made a way for me to be found worthy. I pray for this uncommon Grace for all PPR hopefuls, together we will all celebrate.

Application and confirmation was done on 17th April, with complete NSE docs (RLWS-7,7.5,7,7.5)
Biometrics Request on 18th April
IELTS Request letter, i resubmitted my IELTS
Did my upfront medicals together with my biometrics on 29th and 28th of April.
Medicals updated to pass on 28th of may after sending mails to Lagos
First Gcmnotes requested on 24th May, it arrived on 23rd June
Second Gcmnotes requested on 21st June...
Correspondence L and PPR request on 24th June.

When did your eligibility start?

Can someone request for GCMS when eligibility is yet to start but application is 2 months old?

Does eligibility feedback covers activities on the application beyond requested date? For instance, if I order in Jan and feedback coming end of February, would I see activities on it in early days of February or only limited to activities before the requested date of January?

NEYOT88:
This is God's grace for me and my family
Here is my timeline
Application submitted with upfront Medical- 25th Jan
Medical updated to pass - 28th Jan
Note: I applied with my family
Ordered Gcms on 8th April
Gcms arrived on 7th May, I saw the concerns raised and I addressed them immediately.
Got a response that our file is in China.
Send another email and I got a mail that file is now in Nairobi.
Yesterday, I wrote another mail to Nairobi
To the Glory of God PPR dropped for all of us this morning.
My wife is the principal applicant
I apply for OWP
Our child a visitor visa.
This is just the Grace of God
2 years Diploma program at NBCC.

Thanks Mobi22.

It worked like fire. I did webform and a mail. Just instantly, I got a mail that my application had been updated. Though, mail addressed to Lagos.

@LadyBlaq, follow the advice.

Keep sending webforms don’t worry it’d pass

Is your medical passed now? If medical status did not change to pass after 20 days thereabouts, what can someone do?

LadyBlaq:
If I hadn't read it numerous times here on nairaland, I would have rejoiced at the speed but it is nothing. I think I am prepared for the mental stress and the long wait.

None. I did upfront medicals on 29th and uploaded the slip via webform on 2nd with plenty errors on the body of the mail, I just hope they excuse the errors and just focus on the subject of the webform and the attached medical slip..LOL

No update on the medical but I plan calling IOM after 7 working days if it isn't uploaded.

Well done. Good write up.

However, Covid 19 impact must be mentioned as stated in one of the write up versions, delay in passing already submitted medicals must be mentioned and NSE should have option button and not random selection

Also, guys, come up with hashtag as follow up on Twitter.

Kkddyit:
"Hello,

We hope this reaches you well.

With careful writing, we wish to thank the Nation of Canada for giving us the opportunity to become students in various institutions of learning in Canada as such bringing about synergy between the two countries (Nigeria and Canada), while also putting both countries on path of growth through transfer knowledge & technical know-how.

In recent years, the economy of Canada has grown exponentially and thus competing with other great nations of the world on all positive Indices among which includes affordable and top notch educational system.

That said, we have now noticed some unexplainable delays we applicants from Nigeria are facing to acquire a study permit into Canada. Comparing our processing time with other countries, it is really disheartening that Canada study applications from Nigeria takes a minimum of 3 to 6 months and on average, while in some instances we have seen applicants get decision between 8 to 14 months.

Just recently, the NIGERIAN STUDENT EXPRESS (NSE) scheme was introduced, and this was to mirror the SDS program and act as catalyst in expediting the application process for those who meet up with the requirements. Interestingly, those who got selected for this route and met the requirements hardly get a decision within 3months of their application, as against the stipulated 20 calenders days processing time according to IRCC.

The rate at which Nigerian students defer admission is becoming alarming, for which our different institutions of higher learning attested to and even willfully propose deferment just to cushion the effect due to the delay in decision making from the immigration desk.

There is no gain saying most students have set out plans on commencement and time expected time of return to their home after study to impact lives, develop the growing society and help fight the economic challenges, but the long processing time had made a lot to alter or extend these visions and goals. It is worthy of note that time lost can never be recuperated.

Recently, we had seen our colleagues from other countries received responses and favourable decisions in 20 days or less whilst contemporaries from other countries do not get decisions in 6 months or more. The degree of disparity is shocking and unexplainable.

We believe international students are integral part of the economic & population growth plans of Canada. We therefore appeal to the immigration authorities to revisit and reconsider our processing time, to enable our future aspiration see the light of the day in a timely manner.

Thanks and God bless you"

Good speed. Are you on NSE route? What other document did you submit that was updated today? Any update on your medicals?

LadyBlaq:
Good morning house!
I guess the almighty eligibility review has started for my application(submitted 17th April).

Jehovah God, unto your hands I commit my application, it's filled with so many errors and apparently imperfect but I trust you to perfect it all for me and all the PPR hopefuls in this thread, Amen.

IRCC be hoarding PPRs and giving applicants high BP and restlessness, It's not easy to maintain focus but we must, for our sanity. Happy new week people!

I have taken my time to evaluate everyone's contributions on Gbriels and Jarus heated discussion. I come to see everyone is right.

However, the back and front arguements and counter arguments could have been saved if Jarus has come to say no update, this will sound good but telling us about bond or agreement was not needed, hence, it triggers the issues. "I have dodo but my mum said I should not give you" it passes same message.

More also, if the bond was that strong, walahi, you needed not to highlight it. Unless you wanna sound like constituted authority or stay mid way, which means you could have or taking cover within the big space to avoid being placed on check like in the case of Easymoneysniper.

Jarus, the fact must be said, you have strong followers and admirers and your words influence, if Gbriels has not come this way, we could have others saying same thing which will automatically postulate 'Bond Theory'

Let the source keeping coming that is the essence or watch out of most viewers. Please say it, if it fails test of time, local people, let's stop attacking them ( I am talking of real source not speculators or attention seekers or jokers).

God bless the Republic of Local ones.

Dear Local Men and Women,

As we await the next stage, the elders are under immense pressure to endorse who will become the 2019 GT President.

We have got a lot of distinguished fellows on our table but there is need for due diligence in the selection. However, to whom the mantle of leadership will be given, we don't know but we are sure of those that won't be endorsed.

Watch out!

The truth is that most folks attacking the young guy suffer from inferiority complex whether they believe it or not...I would have had an issue with the guy if he is liar but alas he is not.Mosgoon talking too much of too much he has done or he is doing is no one one's biz...And no one is in position to advise him coz if they know better then let them do better than him.
Nigerians plz stop jealousy biko.

BTW,bro I hope sep 9th is still the valid date shaa cos I will like this thread to be closed down .it have over stayed it's welcome whalahi.

So sorry, let me rephrase "Truth is that FEW folks and bandwagons attacking the young boy suffer complexity, loneliness, depression etc.

To Mosgoon, I would have said you thread with cautions here but that will not be useful at this point again, keep talking till they go back to their shells. If they are in your painted shoes, they will make a bigger noise.

However, refer to my last post on your case, always scan your environment, it will guide your contribution and utterances but never bow to oppressors or bullies. To others, names withheld, your time will come, learn to accommodate.

I had asked Mosgoon for Loms which he replied but didn’t send. I asked not that I needed it, I wanted it because no knowledge is a waste.
However, it didn’t prompt any cheeky behavior from my end.
Chigbobos relax a little.
From Innations messages, it’s obvious he doesn’t pay much attention to grammatical construction unlike Mosgoon.
People can go through indescribable lengths to Tanish and subsequently ridicule someone.
I can remember here how I almost swore that the rejection email from Nnpc someone posted here was authentic until we found out it was fake. I mean how can someone sit down to photoshop a fake Nnpc rejection letter. To what end?. This shows people are really passing through personal problems here which I won’t like to term ‘mental derailment ‘. I can’t still Fathom that act.
So believe me when I say Innation might actually be against Mosgoon.
Even if he is Mosgoon that wants to blow his trumpet, just free him. He has a lot of achievements I second and anyone who doesn’t like it can go ahead and achieve theirs.
People should understand this is a public forum and there are individual differences. Heck.
Please I am not Mosgoon’s alternate Moniker o. I won’t be surprised if someone starts digging me.
I would even be happy if Mosgoon accepts Nnpc offer. I’d welcome a friendly competition.

Thanks Gbyms.
Mosgoon, if your achievements and other potentials are not fictions. You are smart, you are good and on the happy side. You have achieved more than your age mates, hence, the numerous and intended attacks. You need to move, talk, gesticulate with cautions. There are fora you can say all these-likely minded, where it would not be termed as pride or show of glory but not here. Study your environment first and your being. You can say all these in presence of some people here that will not fish out pride but see expression happiness in you. Some are feeling slighted by your achievements, no doubt, reason you need to keep your head. Anyways please moderate your talks.

Some on this forum will not pick offense from your iterations but see you as an upcoming and coming up strongly. Some will not pick pride from others statements but watching out yours and reading line by line to sight out point of discussion. Never feel bad, it happens to fruitful trees, they don't escape stones and other forms of attack.

For sure you can read and ignore if somethings posted by the young boy doesn't go down well with you rather than hurting for his loopholes. We are married together on this page mainly because of NNPC appointment don't derail by attacking someone's personality, it's not good. Some even came as advisor but with intention to add to the insult on him, not too good brotherly, there are ways u can pass feedback and eliminate noise. I can imagine the mood you would have subjected him to, this is not in your best interest.

@Mosgoon, you are my guy any day even in face of adversity.
Keep calm boy, you will be fine, you are learning some lessons of life. Very fine the strong and piercing feedbacks are coming now and here. Trust me, you will be fine at last. Keep your spirit up. Some have got it this way and they are super fine today.

Give yourself a smile and work on your grey side.
Love you.

Selection process possible determinants.

Basically, this will not be based on federal character alone but some other fundamentals could make the selection tense for some candidates while others may have it easy.

For the GT, generally GTs in most organizations are selected based on performance without considering the course of study, purely on order merit, I see NNPC not being an exception to this. With this, the selection will be stiff, depending on your state and the number left from your state allocation after deduction of the successful EH slots.

The EH will be selected first; this is an existing workspace that needs to be fixed, hence, the job placement, unlike GTs that will be cultured for task ahead, I mean, future needs. The EH selection process will be based on the best man for the job and not state as some states may not even have applicants for the role.

Lets simulate an instance here, the role of Company Secretary should go out for just one applicant out of many, it means such applicants will be competing with other smart applicants across the federation for this role and not his or her village people. This instance, takes us to complexity 2, this automatically reduced the number allocated to FCT and as such, affects the number of seats left for the GTs from FCT. In this scenario, Some EHs will be fortunate; applicants equal the number of spaces, like in a situation where someone happened to be the only man that applied for the role, it was just smooth cruise to the Tower. Whereas other will sweat to get a seat, maybe like the HSE applicants and others, they will need to battle for the limited seats on their roles as we have a good number of them, more that the available space.

To recap:
- The GT will compete with the village people, this will be easy ride for some
- The EH will compete with other candidates across the federation with same job title and skillset
- The more successful EHs in your state the more the tense selection process for the GTs becomes
- EH on popular role too stand chances of stiff selection while some may not have 2nd to compete with, these are called "Yours throughly".
- Federal Character may also step in, if 5 are needed and 6 applicants are available, the first 5 from a state and the 6th from another state. I guess you understand the 6th from other state would likely make the successful list.

Above all, for my case, its in God's hands.
