I was unable to go to Italian embassy today due to some unforeseen that came up. how far? any update? is it only Tuesdays that they attend to such matter? Can I go on Wednesday?

I just called the guy I sent and he said he has been able to do it. What they told him last week was that they attend to such issues today. But. I will still suggest you give it a trial tomorrow even if its not the day, with a little push, you can get it done. When i went to collect my legalised value, they asked me to come the next day cos it was not yet signed but the black Italian i met was so nice that he acceded to my plea. I even offered him something afterwards and he declined. So i will advice you try tomorrow.

I would not advice he submits originals with visa application. They are not that organised. My friend that did last year, nothing was returned to him. He had to reapply for missing documents and I don't know if they were able to return all to him

I think you should hold on till next week Tuesday except you want to give it a trial. The boy I sent said after waiting for hours, they told him that the consular in charge is not around and that he may not come tomorroq. That he should come on tuesday when they attend to such maters. Thank you so much for your quick response. I am really very sorry for bothering you with all my questions,I need to be sure of some things and get some of it fixed before she leaves.
The school requested her to get the Certificate of enrollment stamped by the Italian embassy in Lagos. The embassy has already issued visa,returned certificate of enrollment,but no special stamp on the certificate of enrollment. While I contacted the school,the school made me to understand that she needs stamped certificate of enrollment to be able to apply for study permit on arriving Italy. Do this happen? how do we go about it? This Italian consulate are not organized at alllll!

This is the same problem I am presently facing though what my school asked me to stamp is the admission letter. I sent a mail to the embassy today but no response. I am trying to see I there is someone close to them embassy that can help me take the letter there. If you consider there embassy, you won't move an inch

By the grace of God, I shud by leaving by 15th of Sept after finalising one or two things. I am heading for Bologna. I have tried to search thru wakanow and the best I get is Turkish airline. You can try too and let's see if you get something better. Please let me know if you do

@Ernest, Can you confirm this for me? I have a visa that will expire Oct ending. I have not used the Visa. My school resumes Mid sept. A friend told me that I dont need to renew the Visa since I will have to apply for temporary permit when I get in in September. How reliable is this information?

Kolabyk: I have been able to gather important information from the resourceful buddies here and I hope my question will be attended too as well.
The account where I have deposited my money for the 28days period is jointly operated by my mum and I but I am the primary signatory. I had opened it as apersonal account before later adding her as a signatory too.
Ques 1. Do I need to get a consent letter from my mum when applying for visa
2. I discussed with my acct officer and he said my mum's name will not reflect on the statement, so, do I really need to class dis acct as personal or joint acct when filling this appendix8 form ques 6.18.

Speaking from a professional point of view, this account is solely yours. Adding your mum as a signatory does not place the power you have on the account same as hers. You can even decide to remove her, if you are of age. Since the account was opened in your name, your account officer is 100% correct. So choose the first option, yes, you have money in your personal account. Cheers!

newacca: Oh yea! Al'hamdulillah! My wife had been issued visa to study in Italy. ITALIA ALL THE WAY. FORZA AZZURRI! She just called on fone. I packaged all the application myself. Though she was refused last year cos she didnt included her result. we thought it wasn't necessary+ no one gave us specific requirement even at the consulate in VI. No kinda typed or written list. Imagine! A security was called in to tell all basic requirements off hand. This made me to revolve around d reasons of denial and got where thd prob was. I fired again and she had been granted. I'm over d moon right now. MAA-SHA ALLAH.
She is on her way home now...
She will be heading to Firenze to study her interest of course: FASHION DESIGN
I could see an Int'l fashion designer in the making. I can tell u. those Italo visa officers here r time wasters ooo. no shakigs.

2. Well I choose multiple entry tho I was given single. The school told me its when I get to school that I will process study permit that will allow for multiple entry.

Sorry, I just saw this. I will send it to you tomorrow. I actually used shengen form tho it was italian visa I was issued. I will send the two types I currently have to you. It shud be under long stay category. Are you ready to apply now?

The embassy is not calling the bank to ask for a fresh/new document, they are verifying what you have given them [b]already, yes they have the right to do that, there is nothing like. . . the bank has no right to disclose your info to the embassy.

Just wise, what we are saying is from where d suggestion above stops. If I print my statement from may and stops at june 30, UKBa cannot request for my statement that covers July in order to verify if my balance did not go down in that month. They could only verify what I have given them for the genuineness or the balance in my account as it is stated in what I have in my closing balance. No need to argue tho, this is not banking thread cos I could have spelt the process flow and some of its implications.

Cavenchy: Absolutely right, the ukba has no access to statements not provided by the applicant, and the bank is bound to only confirm the authenticity of the statement submitted by applicant and/or a confirmation of the applicant's present balance being above ukba recommended limit.

Donxavier: . It's risky. What if they demand the bank statement for the last two months from the bank when they contact them? The safest way is to start counting again. Any other way is fraught with high risk and those guys I heard are a stickler for the rules.

For record purpose, no bank will release someones statement to such organisation when the request is not backed up by a court order or regulatory body's request. The best the bank could do is to confirm the authenticity of the statement or the current account balance. So i think the earlier suggestion could very much work.

I will like to ask one or two questions

1. How long those it take to get a study visa
2. I have been given an offer letter to proceed with enrollment payment of 2500 Eur, without asking for legalizing of any of my document, though its a diploma course. Will these not affect the visa issuance?
3. The amount that will be good enough as proof of fund on bank statement?
4. Applying from LAGOS OR ABUJA, which is better?
5. Will i be needing health insurance, ticket reservation and hotel booking?

Please, i will appreciate clear answers to these questions.

!. Its hard to say as the embassy is not that organised like UK. It could take between 3 weeks and 3 months.

2. It shud affect Visa but as you would have read in the previous comments, some of us risked it without it last year and we were given.
3. I always believe the best amount to be in your account is at least the total of your first year tuition and living expenses
4. Since they are not likely to call you for interview, either of the embassies should be ok.
5. My experience shows that you may need proof of accomodation and health insurance. However, my school stated in a letter they gave me to the embassy that they will arrange the two so i cant authoritatively say that they will insist on that. Flight reservation - I do not think so

firo: Thank you . one last question , i submitted my bank statement for maintenance reasons but is it necessary to submit a letter from the bank to prove the authencity of my bank statement ? NOTE: The bank statement i submitted is an internet print out but every single page of the statement is stamped by the bank .

@Firo, you could have requested for a statement from the bank that will have the logo of the bank. I guess the stamped page shud be ok too. You can get a reference letter from the bank stating you are a customer and you have satisfactorily run your account. If its gtbank, the charge is 2500. I hope this helps.

These are basically what i attached.

1. Letter of admission,
2. Another correspondence stating all the conditions of admission and enrollment.
3. My bank statement for Six month
4. Letter of reference by my organisation.
5. My credentials (they are not legalised ones)

I think those are the basic things i submitted.

shemy: Please, i still need clarification on the biometric issue, i stay in port harcourt and i have not done any biometric for visa pplication before, can i do the biometrics and still apply for visa the same day before travelling to visa centre twice to do these differently is not economical for me

I can only answer the second question. You cannot use the account in uk except you have internet banking and initiate transfer to your account in Uk. Yes, you need to open an account in Uk. If you will be in London, you can open a Gtbank uk account. This could be done even before you leave Nigeria. All the best.

Or otherwise look for another school.I have tried to check d school up but didn't see much details except that they ahave posted names of people that got admitted. Even if you get the letter, is it wise to spend so much to go do test that they may say you didn't meet cut off?

Is it possible to apply for a visa with admission letter from the school.

You need to take your case one by one;

1. What is the name of the school you are applying too. Most school will make alternative arrangement for your test if you are an international student. Let me know how far you have gone with them.

2. If the school says they will need your declaration of Value, its better you submit at the embassy on time because it takes time as you would have seen in the previous posts on this thread.

please i know this is not answering your own question, but i need some information about the italian visa process.i posted something about the italian embassy about 2 weeks ago but got no response so i am hoping someone here can help.
A family member applied for a visiting italian visa on the 29th of May still we have not heard anything and we check the site eveyday still no update . Do you know if they exceed there 40 days maximum time limit? becuase as at today it is about 31 days . I just want to know how long this might take and if there was anyway to check on the status of this visa.

When I applied for Visa last year, it took a while. Many times i mailed the VFS and they kept telling me its under processing, I almost withdrew the application until it came out. Dont worry, they will soon get across. And like a friend says, when its getting long, its not likely they will reject you. Keep faith bro.
