Hello,
Pls does anyone know a study loan company that gives study loans to study a Diploma course in Canada ?
Most of them do MSc or MBA but pls am looking for one that would grant study loan to do a Diploma course in Canada.

Thanks

The way things are going now with Canadian immigration and students, unavailability of jobs and the prospect of paying back, is this a wise decision?

Especially if you plan to be PR?

A personal building is an asset oga... A double one sef...if U have a spare space to rent out

What U saying bro...

Having a building is a liability. The value only comes if you decide to sell. Plus, you can never recover your money back, no matter the rent you put on it, especially if you plan to leave it for your offspring.

I’d rather buy lands instead which I can resell later which will be worth more than building something that will become outdated later.

It’s better to buy land and keep. Just buy land everywhere you can afford. With due diligence of course.

Hello everyone!

I currently live in GTA Ontario, and considering moving from the city I am currently to London Ontario permanently with my family. I would appreciate if I can get people's opinion about living in London Ontario, is it an affordable place for family?, is it affordable to buy a house?, How is the Nigerian community like?, The job market?, The cost of living?, Safety?, Childcare subsidy in the region?

Thanks in advance!

I would appreciate a response from any Nigerian currently in London Ontario

I have been to London a few times and I think it’s pretty okay for a family.

It is cool and devoid of all the GTA drama.

However, when it comes to jobs, I doubt you’d find anything viable there. Cost of living is pretty decent. Just ensure you have a vehicle. There are a few Nigerians moving there. I’ve not heard anything adverse about safety in that axis.

The person I go to meet there got their Townhouse for 600k which is still pretty expensive if you asked me. I’m sure you’d find for the same amount around Cambridge or some parts of Kitchener.

Regarding childcare subsidy? I thought that’s a province wide thing?

London is generally a decent place to live, but it’s like 2 hours to Toronto, which is a red flag for someone like me who has to go to work in GTA and flex a bit. However, if you and your spouse work remotely, then you’re good. But if you are a town boy like me…. Lol. You’ll adjust sha.

I just discovered that i will need two years work experience to be legible for skilled trade worker. to get into this canada is harder than i Thought. I have not seen anyone who has taken the pte core from nigeria and come out with band 80 or 90 and i dont want to be the first one to try it out like that. i heard the exam is 150 usd. I really would like to immigrate to CA but it beginning to look like i chose the wrong profession. The study route is pretty expensive. most of the schools i see are 17k to 20k cad. Please does anyone know a better route for people like me who are software engineers seeking to imigrate to canada (crs score is not high enough).

Thanks

Do French as second language. You most definitely won’t regret it.

Foolish boi.. you made 18 million in Nigeria and want to waste it in another man’s country.

You will work your yansh off to amount that money in any of these countries

18m is less than 17k CAD o. That’s way below the annual minimum wage bro. You will make that money back in no time!

There’s huge return on investment. It’s just that it can be VERY rough when you first arrive. Don’t dull.

Except Canada PR which is now very hard to get you aren't leaving Nigeria anytime soon. To get a German study visa appointment if you didn't graduate with a first class degree in the last 2 years takes more than 18 months currently.

If I was you, I will try learning french aggressively between now and next year and focus on getting PR to Canada. With 18 million on student visa you go too suffer eh grin

Don’t underestimate this commitment.

Please guys, since I missed this month health draw. I cannot hold my proof of funds any longer.

The previous health draw was done in February and this one, yesterday.

(1) When do you advise I start gathering proof of funds again. Seeing the next one might be December.

(2) I have a lump sum of 10,000 cad that has been in my account for over 6 months. It was sent as a lump sum. Should this make me worried because it was sent as a lump sum?

I don’t think it will take that long to see another health draw. Please keep the hope alive.

To answer your questions,
1. I’d advise against touching the POF you currently have. You don’t know what the economy might the saying by the time you need it and then struggling to gather it again. Except it’s an emergency. You can take but ensure to return it ASAP. POF is a big deal in this journey; not to just have your way into Canada, but for survival when you eventually land. E no easy o.

2. If the money has been in your account for 6 months, you have nothing to worry about. Just get your bank statement and reference and submit.
Also, is the money in CAD or Nairaland equivalent?

Good day everyone, I currently have a challenge and I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I was selected for EE draw last year and I've passed both medical and biometrics. My main challenge here is that after all my suffering of preparing and writing TEF (which set me back almost 3 years) IRCC sent me a PFL saying they can't verify my TEF language tests. I currently don't know what to do. I have reached out to Alliance française where I sat for the exams and they aren't forthcoming. Now I have a few more days before the 30 days I was given expires and all I have is the mails I got from the centre when I paid, the schedule they sent me and the mail I got when my result came out.

NB: In the mail I got for the result, I activated the result and changed my password then but what I noticed now is that when I log in now all I get is a blank white page which wasn't the case before now

IRCC probably couldn’t reach them too, hence the PFL.

I think your best bet now is to submit screenshots of all the emails you got from Alliance Francaise, including those you sent to them for confirmation after receiving the PFL and include an explanation letter in your submission before the 30day deadline. This is high irresponsibility from AF.
