This thread an avenue for us,the Nigerian Students to speak out our minds on the state of our ALMA MATER. No abusive,bias, and political sentiment views. We are patriotic Nigerians,I want to believe so. Be sincere about your stance because your opinion may end up being one of the instruments to revolutionize the state of our educational sector. Who knows? the president may,be reading through this.

This is how it goes:

I represent University of Ibadan.
In my university,almost all the books in the library are old editions,we need them replaced with new editions.Our reading rooms,toilets,and bathrooms need refurbishment.Our sport facilities are outdated,they need to be replaced.Our lecturers meet the global standard,they need to be appreciated and compensated perhaps by grants,commission of estate projects that will make them house owners.Then they can thereafter pay by instalment through their years of service.

Please,know this,especially those who think they have been denied admission despite their high score. UI is very straight forward. In as much as one gets the cut off,the name will come on the merit list. But if you are required to change your course,another endogenous cut off will be used to release 2nd list. That is, one's fate will be determined by the dispersion of the scores of others by who also changed to that course.Thus the cut off will be different from that of the merit list. for instance, if the merit cut off for Geography is 50,and 35 people made it through the merit list,and if people with 51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,changed to it,they will pick from 53 upward(15 people) to complete the quota, and those with 51 and 52 may end up thinking it was not fare. Thus 50 will no more be the cut off,but 53. Hope you understand.

Good morning to everyone on the thread.I congratulate those who have been offered the provisional admission into the Nigerian Premier University, and for those who are yet to be offered admission,don't give up! continue trusting God and at the same time,have a plan B,to obtain another JAMB form,so as to downplay disappointment.

For those coming for their clearance,I wish you save journey. and please be reminded to come with the originals of all the required credentials,if possible, come with all the O'LEVEL result slip(s) you have written so far so as to be on a safer side in case they point out any deficiency in the one you intend to submit. doing this may save you from being eroded to another department.Am a living example of this pinprick. Though you might have assumed that UI would accept certain subject combination as regard what is on the JAMB brochure or acceptable in other schools,but have a changed perception that UI works with dynamism.Take a look at these true live stories:

Klenz,a member of this thread for the 2013/2014 session, was offered admission to study Psychology, but finally eroded to Library Archival and Information Science due to D7 in Biology.

Femi,my course mate was eroded from Pschology to Geography due to 'no Biology'

And myself was eroded from Economics and Education to Geography despite this combination:Maths,Eng,Eco,Geo and Govt.

I attended an only boys school from jss 1-3 and mixed from sss1-3. Mixwd school is better. I support,because a student who attends only boys,at some point finds it challenging to freestyle when found among the 2 sex. It affects psychologically. am talking 4rm experience
