AntiMarxist: A month to drive out a well dug in armed force in their supposed region over an area extending more than 300,000 sqKm and you say that isn't a brilliant military feat.
Okoro, Adekunle is one of the greatest military strategists ever. Even the Americans could not achieve this feat in Vietnam in a similar tropical swamp jungle terrain.
The northern officers were rightly afraid of Adekunle after the war and that's why they eased him out of the army.
Name one military feat in modern warfare that has achieved gaining and controlling so much territory in such a very short span. Still evaded my debate Acting like a fool always |

AntiMarxist: Okoro, we will school you true history and not the fake lies your ever lying war generation has handed down to you.
Your Biafran army was chased away and from there used civilians as shields.
Gowon not wanting to have his government and forces accused of war crimes after the hullabaloo generated from Murtala rightly executing Biafran soldiers who had blended into civilian population and those Ibo Bendelites who worked with the Biafran invasion , had instructed the war to be as sterile as possible hence why the blockade option was instituted.
You had the advantage but you lost the initiative from the very beginning.
Try nonesense again and see entire Alaigbo flattened. You're the fool here. You've learnt NOTHING from history or have STUDIED ONE BIT. Like I said it took a month for the Nigerian soldiers to chase away the biafran soldiers which was again the biafran soldiers had less weapons and soldiers stop trying to change history fool |
Politics › Re: If Nigeria Military Couldn’t Defeat Breakaway Biafra Until it 3rd year by Brek: 8:15pm On Aug 05, 2023 |
AntiMarxist: Stalemate?
There was tension back in Lagos on why Gowon insisted on continuing the war after liberating Midwest and SS states of present day Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River.
The northern Muslim officers in Gowon's war cabinet wanted the war to end but Gowon insisted on bringing the Ibo territories back into Nigeria.
The reasons for Gowon wanting the war to continue are hinged on two reasons :
1. Gowon being a northern minority and a Christian had earlier opposed Murtala's Operation Araba and wanted to preserve Nigeria to check the northern Muslim ambitions on his people. Domkat Bali made this position clear in his book on why they insisted on continuing the war to bring back Ibo territories into Nigeria.
2. Ibo elite had lost interest in Biafra after the liberation of the annexed SS regions and had come to see Ojukwu as an unhinged tyrant. It's no secret that the likes of Zik opposed Biafra only after SS Territories were liberated. Ojukwu will later comment years after the war that Biafra is not feasible because it had so many Sabos. As you know, not a week went by without a whisky drunk Ojukwu was not ordering executions on his own troop commanded for either cowardice or sabotage.
So better understand that at no time did you ever hold Nigeria on a stalemate.
The Nigerian military simply switched from all out attack to siege tactics after the SS was liberated.
So get your facts right and stop listening to that your failure of a grand uncle who keeps lying about your phantom gallantry . You literally PROOVED NOTHING. First of all it was an obvious stalemate due to the fact that the fighting had stopped Second of all the only reason Gwon wanted to invade Biafra back was due to the fact that he had thought of the blockade technique which brought Biafra to its knees. You act so stupid sometimes |
Politics › Re: If Nigeria Military Couldn’t Defeat Breakaway Biafra Until it 3rd year by Brek: 8:13pm On Aug 05, 2023 |
AntiMarxist: So how does your timeline differ from mine ?
And FYI, Biafra was far more superior in terms of number of trained officers and men as you Ibos dominated the military back then. Ironsi had also diverted lots of weaponry and arms to his eastern region.
Biafra had the numerical strength in trained officers and men and also had more weapons and arms than Nigeria at the time.
This is what propelled Ojukwu to think he could overrun Midwest (which had next to no ammo and Ibo friendly Bendel Ibo officers) and putsch towards Lagos.
The Lagos invasion failed because Nigerian federal forces ambushed the invading Biafran troops by using old British bush maps and not engaging Biafran troops directly on the highway.
You see, you had the military advantage and you abused it in doing a coup and later attempting to sweep Midwest and Lagos into your rogue Biafra.
Little did you know that Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and Binis are born warriors. Stop trying to distort history You literally have no back up into your claims and now said "biafran soldiers had better trained weapons" literally no evidence or source of your claim! In what way we're the biafran soldiers better equipped? In what freaking way? Which "military advantage" did we have? In what way? Because the biafran soldiers had a few tanks and the Nigerian soldiers had far too much. Had a larger airforce and military men. I don't understand why you guys like to disort history |

AntiMarxist: It took less than 3 weeks to drive Biafran troops out of the Midwest
It took less than 6 months to liberate the annexed Niger Delta states of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River from Biafra occupation.
The rest of the war was fought on attrition to slowly but painfully Demilitarize and demoralise Biafra .
3 million dead children
Over a million other casualties .
A sensible Ojukwu would have negotiated an end to the war and had his core Ibo Republic but he continued the senseless war using human shields to slow the military advance . You don't know history at ALL First of all it took Nigeria a month to drive the biafran forces out of the midwest Second of all if it took six months for the Nigerian forces to Annex south south dosent that show how strong the biafran army was despite having weak equipments? Some times you guys reason like apes |

Patented: Dey play. The first officers and leaders of the Biafran Army, were from the Nigerian Army, trained by the Nigerian Army. If anything. It is a testament to the effectiveness of that training that the war lasted that long. Who were the trained Nigerian armies? Because Egypt had to help with air support |
Politics › Re: If Nigeria Military Couldn’t Defeat Breakaway Biafra Until it 3rd year by Brek: 6:38pm On Aug 05, 2023 |
kettykings: They couldn't defeat them , they starved them to submission through blockade, sabotage of farms. In the battle field was nothing special Nigeria military could do besides killing unarmed civilians, starving women and children. All the military feats came from Biafra. It's also noticed that in 1968 the war would've been a stalemate if Nigeria hadn't starved the Biafrans Also what is meant by stalemate is that Nigeria will keep the occupied territories and Biafra will keep their occupied territories |

Politics › Re: Niger Military Versus Nigeria Military (Equipment) by Brek: 11:41am On Aug 04, 2023 |
Babinski: Military superiority is not the only factor in any eventual military engagement with Niger. USA and Russia were militarily superior to Vietnam and Afghanistan respectively but what was the outcome of their military engagements?
1. It is not easy being the aggressor and taking the fight to the homeland of your "opponent". The people may see you as an outsider trying to install a puppet government and rally against you as a common enemy in nationalistic and patriotic fevour.
2. Going into a terrain that you are not used to and which may have peculiarities, comes with risks to your troops and equipment. The terrain in Niger geographically is predominantly desert plains and sand dunes. And it is hot and dry. Only specific types of motorized military equipment will work well there without serious challenges.
3. Maintenance for troops and equipment in another country as large as Niger is not easy. How do you convert replacement parts, food and other necessities there without incurring serious logistic costs? This is worsened when the populace are largely against you.
So any confrontation in Niger needs to be well thought out before engagement rather than just mouthing statistics, etc. Russia had far better statistics against Ukraine but see the cost of the war so far to them and how long it has dragged?
Nigerian economy is not in the beat condition for any warfare much less long drawn warfare where the troops are not motivated and the Army has been riddled with corruption. Add that defending is easy |
