PoliticsSouth-west Women Declare Support For Root Olawepo-hashim by brickswrites(op): 1:51pm On Nov 27, 2018
Women groups from South-west Nigeria have expressed their preparedness to work for the success of the presidential candidate of the People’s Trust (PT), Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim in the 2019 presidential election.

Meeting in Akure on the platform of ‘Women for Hashim’, chairperson for the group in Ondo State, Mrs. Folayan Adeyemi Choice, said the PT presidential candidate has won their hearts and they would work collectively to ensure that he succeeds Buhari in 2019.
The group described Olawepo-Hashim as their only hope for president in 2019 is Hashim as they could no longer rely on deceit and lies by recycled leaders.
The women leaders who took turns to make various remarks at the event, specifically described the presidential contenders of the two major political parties in Nigeria as Siamese twins who have nothing new to offer the Nigerian women.
“We want a break, change is inevitable. We have been neglected over the past decades. We are women for Gbenga Olawepo Hashim in 2019,” they said.
Olawepo-Hashim unveiled a very special programme for the Nigerian women on how to curb the devastating effect of cervical cancer.
He said his presidency will sponsor vaccine for all girls from nine years-old to young women of age 25.
According to him, when these vaccines reach women in that category, there are very remote chances that they would ever have cancer.
“So we can vaccinate against cancer and that is what I’m going to do for all Nigerian girls and young women. They will have the vaccines against cervical cancer when I’m elected president in 2019. I will do it within 6 months if elected as president. This is a major programme for women that will protect them in the future against cancer.
Tell the people of Ondo state that they have a candidate who has done business for 25 years, creating jobs all over the world and in Nigeria, not a parasite that has always relied on government. I will create jobs for your children I will create 4 million jobs every year by removing the obstacles to investment in Nigeria because it is only the private sector that can create jobs, not government civil service jobs.”
“Manufacturing and services jobs, these are the kind of jobs we are creating. If we remove the obstacles to investment in Nigeria which some people have put there, investment will flow and jobs will be created.”
He reiterated that there would be a N50,000 minimum wage at the first anniversary of his government.
“They lack creativity, that is why they think N50,000 is too much . The 125 minimum wage in 1983 is the equivalent of N50,000 today. N50,000 minimum wage will our first anniversary gift to workers. Even that is not satisfactory, as we would only be giving what was given in 1983.”

PoliticsDon’t Intimidate Atiku, Let Opposition Be, Group Cautions FG by brickswrites(op): 11:36am On Nov 12, 2018
The All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government has been advised not to engage in acts that may truncate democracy in the country or unnecessarily overheat the polity, through excessive deployment of state machinery against opposition politicians, especially the flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was reportedly harassed at the airport on his return from a foreign trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The words of caution and appeal to tolerance were contained in a press release issued in Abuja on Sunday signed by Amb. Salamat Yusuf national coordinator ActivateAtiku, a support association that backs the Waziri Adamawa for president at the February 16 presidential election.
“Discerning Nigerians and millions of esteemed people around the world are watching the sinister moves by those trying to use the power of incumbency and control of security apparatus, to muscle-out key members of the PDP.

“No amount of unprovoked harassment or unsolicited embarrassment can stop Nigerians to participate in a free and fair elections next year to elect the right man to lead them out of extreme poverty”, said the National Coordinator of the support group, Salamat Yusuf.
Activate-Atiku further berated the FG for sending an army of special security operatives to scare search candidate Abubakar, who was searched at the Abuja airport on his way back from Dubai, in a gestspo fashion aimed at bullying or incriminating the elder ststesman and former Vice President.
Yusuf further said that: “Our principal is not a criminal and nobody should tag him so. His Excellency has been upright and facing his issue-based campaign and working assiduously on how to get Nigeria working again, through well thought-out transformational agenda of job creation, creating opportunity for business to grow and promoting wealth generation.”
The group also urged the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to desist from acts of impunity and enable INEC and security agents to facilitate a level playing ground for all contestants, in order to have free, fair, transparent and credible elections.

Activate-Atiku group stressed further that:
“No amount of molestation will stop Atiku-Obi PDP team from becoming victorious in the forthcoming polls.
“If the security agents and their masters really want to work, they should intensify the fight against insurgents and killer herdsmen, kidnappers and armed robbers. Better still, they should swoop on corrupt APC stalwarts from Edo to Kano and Akwa Ibom states respectively.
“Anti corruption crusade cannot continue as a one-sided activity, pointed at harassing government opponents. The FG should stop intimidating Atiku, and let Nigerians have the choice of a viable alternative to choose from in 2019.

PoliticsOlawepo-hashim Slams APC As PT Emerges Most Competitive Party by brickswrites(op): 11:19am On Nov 07, 2018
Olawepo-Hashim slams APC as PT emerges most competitive party

Peoples Trust (PT), which recently nominated Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate, has emerged tops among the over 20 newly registered political parties fielding candidates for elective positions in next year’s elections.

With 194 persons running on its platform for legislative, gubernatorial and presidential posts, PT, with the Olisa Agbakoba-led National Intervention Movement (NIM), was first among the 28 were newly registered parties taking part in the processes leading to the 2019 poll.
A total of 6,510 contestants have so far been registered for the elections, comprising 4,496 for House of Representatives, 1,856 for Senate and 158 for president and vice-presidential positions.

The development comes as a coalition of Igbo group under the aegis of Igbo National Stakeholders Assembly (INSA) has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to trade Vice President Yemi Osinbajo with an Igbo indigene to get South-East support for his second term election in 2019.
INSA said the gesture would give the region the assurance that the 2023 presidency would shift to the South-East as promised by President Buhari, even as they asked that Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, should be sacked on the grounds of bad representation of Igbo in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, President General of the group, Chief John Uche, noted that the Igbo tribe has contributed immensely to the economic growth of the country and is deserving of the Presidency.
He said: “We want the world to know that Igbo tribe is the most populous tribe in Nigeria. Out of the 6,247,845 registered voters in Lagos State, Igbo are 3,259,126 excluding non-indigenes. NdiIgbo resident outside South-East Nigeria constitute between 37 and 45 per cent of the population of their host states, and in Lagos, Nd’Igbo are above 55 per cent of the total populace. In some constituencies, Nd’Igbo are more in population.”
The group also lamented that APC in Lagos State has not been friendly with non-indigenes by denying them tickets for elective positions in the state, adding that there was an agreement between the leadership of the group and major political parties in the state to give Igbo a level playing ground at the just concluded primary elections.

“While Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) complied, APC did not,” Uche declared, just as he urged all Igbo to withdraw from APC for the meantime while they receive further directives from the leadership.
PT, which is in alliance with other parties, is promoting the presidential candidacy of Mr. Olawepo-Hashim, has a total of 194 contestants on its platform, including 140 for House of Representatives, 52 for Senate and one candidate for president respectively.
The party is being trailed by JMPP, 182, MPN 176, the ADP, 136, the ZLP, 115, and the ACD, 106.
Analysts attribute PT’s rise to prominence to the emergence of Mr. Olawepo-Hashim as its candidate, and its integration with many other parties and groups like Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM).
Olawepo-Hashim disclosed that PT’s agenda is most appealing, stressing that the party’s economic development plan would create $4 trillion dollars in GDP in 10 years, even as he said PT’s target is to net five per cent global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments and rapid increase in the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
He added: “We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate agriculture, solid mineral sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40 per cent and then tackle unemployment through industry-based jobs.”

The PT presidential candidate deplored the poor economic management strategy of the ruling party, saying it has led to greater poverty among Nigerians, lamenting that “APC’s woeful failure has put 88 million Nigerians into acute poverty, with 1.1million getting into that bracket in the last four months despite relatively high oil price.”
Olawepo-Hashim said Nigerians were getting poorer, because of the woeful economic management strategy or lack of strategy of the APC government.
“Even though Nigeria was not a prosperous economy when President Buhari took over, Nigerian economy has now gone from bad to worse,” he noted, saying the recent revelation by the Brooklyn Institute that 88 million Nigerians now live under acute poverty is disappointing.
The PT presidential hopeful vowed to cut down on acute poverty by half in the country within five months of his election as president and commander-in-chief, and then set the nation’s economy on the path of modernization and all round development.
Olawepo-Hashim declared: “I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together. Most assuredly I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment. I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant economy by investing in iron and steel, research and development, and in other critical sector. These critical sectors will include chemical and machine tools so as to generate the production of capital goods, local capital and to bring in prosperity through the needed multipliers.”

Meanwhile, an opinion poll conducted by Truly Independent Diaspora Electoral Officers (TIDEO) has thrown up eight presidential candidates on top of Nigerians’ preference list in the coming February 2019 election.
Behind the two major contenders, President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the opinion poll shows the national leader of the about 17 million-member youth wing of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Reverend David Esosa Ize-Iyamu, of Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP) Omoyele Sowore of Africa Action Congress (AAC), and Kingsley Moghalu of Young Progressive Party (YPP), as possible winners of the election.
Others in the first eight of likely winners include former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke of Social Democratic Party (SDP), and erstwhile Education Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN).
TIDEO’s poll ranked 61 political parties and their respective candidates, with over 70 per cent of the respondents being young people.

PoliticsOby Is A Political Attention Seeker, Not A Contender-group Tells Ezekwesili by brickswrites(op): 1:53pm On Nov 06, 2018
A political campaign group ActivateAtiku has condemned attacks from the former Education Minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, on Alh. Atiku Abubakar and urge her to concentrate on issue base campaign rather than calling names like the unfit opposition.
The group said Oby Ezekwesili should seek attention from her husband and not from candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential race, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is busy on how to Get Nigeria Working Again.

In a statement signed by the National Secretary of the campaign support group, Amb. Emmanuel Ekpo and made available to newsmen said “Our Principal is equal to non in terms of qualification and has his economy blueprint and not the likes of Oby Ezekwesili who are walking round seeking for attention: she should check the next door because our principal is too occupied to respond to somebody like her”

Amb. Ekpo added that it is common with Women to seek attention but certainly not from H.E Alh. Atiku Abubakar who is taking over the leadership of Nigeria comes 2019 to answer an unserious person like Oby who will go on oblivion sooner than anyone thinks.

He stressed that Atiku will only respond to any intellectual trolls who are not looking for appointment but standing for the betterment of Nigeria and not for their selfish interest like Oby.
The group however advice the former education minister to take a back seat not because she is woman but because she doesn’t want to pitch her tent in the right place that will get Nigeria Working Again “our Principal will gladly welcome her to our team rather than seeking attention the wrong way”.

The opposition is not even a distraction to this unstoppable project of getting Nigeria working Again talk more of you who is looking for who to settle with since bringbackourgirls campaign didn’t favor you like others.

ActivateAtiku support Group has its presence across the length and breadth of Nigeria and has its modalities properly put in place to massively defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2019. Our Principal victory is nonnegotiable

PoliticsJude Ngaji, Your Political Oblivion Here by brickswrites(op): 3:23pm On Oct 29, 2018
Your active outburst in the Cross River state political circle as a youth was such a great hope for the Northern senatorial district of the state which undoubtedly would have ushered-in an unforgettable breath of relief for the much suffered constituents.

I wish you never chickened-out easily showing how incompetence and unfit you could be confronting the lioness in a territory that belongs to us all, which would have made you a champion either you lose or win the Senatorial race even in the opposition that you have decamped. The social media was agog by the youth over your interest in the Senatorial aspiration because everyone is tired of the selfish representation of Dr. Mrs. Rose Oko, Trust me Jude, even a chicken would defeat her in her re-election bid like it will happen to President Mohammedu Buhari in 2019: I personally kept Virgil on occasions writing brilliant articles promoting your aspiration on your arrival even though I never met you till this moment I write, thinking you could save my aging parents with active representation and bringing to bear their sufferings and demand the federal government to come to their rescue in providing the needful.

I know a few youths who went physical in the course of supporting and preferring you to your initial contender with the view that such person doesn’t not have anything to offer the constituents anymore little did they know that they were fighting for a feeble heart who will leave them stranded when the push comes to shove .

Everyone wants to be in the ruling party simply because it gives edge for winning in every elections but certainly not a party like the APC that has nothing to offer but anchoring its campaign on corruption that’s literally meant to hunt the opposition.

Brother Jude why? Your father was as fearless as the lion, dogged and brave in politics like no other, were you not told that politics is not for the chicken hearted people but for people with tones and tones of heart? Would you not rather be loyal and keep enjoying from the Ayade government as an appointee than pulling a stunt that’s detrimental to your political career?

I am worried because I like you more since you are youthful at heart, full of energy and would be able to represent me at the upper chamber. Leaving the senatorial ambition is not even my problem but biting the finger that feeds you, your Father would certainly not be happy in his grave if he was dead at the advisers who made this possible to successfully kill your political career because it will lead you in oblivion as it stands now but only heaven knows how the old man is feeling now that you left his Party.

You think there is sympathy in politics brother? Hell NO: once you fail, you are sent on oblivion or you will relocate and start a new career in Abuja? Because this is the only place you will not be asked questions whether you are indigene or not since its FCT.

I understand why you sojourned to the opposition but I thought you would keep your cool, is there no place for Party loyalty anymore? So what happens since you going to fail? or you henceforth want to be addressed as former House of Reps candidate of the APC? Note this day, that their promises that made you abandoned your original party that even your own father is a stalwart are fake. They had the chance and opportunity to manipulate Ekiti and Osun doesn’t mean it will work in 2019 general elections so I wonder why you should easily give in to these antics.

Ngaji I am pained because I thought you learnt from the best and would take over from your father even though there some reservation which is normal with human. Your choice to joining the state opposition will actually send your candidature to oblivion because nothing interest any Nigerian about APC anymore. It would have be better you take a new party for a choice than a dead party that is about to be laid to rest by the National chairman.

In Politics, they fail today, win tomorrow with faith but certainly not the path you have followed! Betrayal is the height of it in the game and I join the legion who welcomes you to the Supporters Group Association of Nigeria as you retire honorably though not tired without enjoying leadership that you yearn for.

Your political oblivion is here, there is nothing you can do about it.

That is a state's affair. If you aren't involved in state politics you may not know most of those that came out to contest.

This is a new political party. The name Olawepo has never featured in any national discourse of national struggle.

It's like the dude just materialized from thin air.

For example, Durotoye, people have heard his name and know him for some things. Same also for Sowore as owner of Sahara Reporters and activist going all the way back to MKO era.

But Olawepo. Who knows him? What has he done?
Its unfortunate that our generation dont read as such, we wont be able to know what happened from 5-10years ago. I urge you to read about him via the link posted and trust me, you will come to like this Gbenga Olawepo Hashim because he has actually done alot for Nigeria and put his life online to making sure we are liberated. Happy Reading

I really hope Fela won't use politics to destroy his career.
it pretty funny what the whole thing is turning into. I see by hook or crook, he is bent on delivering.

where is the Fela I use to know?
