I would have loved to remain anonymous, but what's the point? My problem is I'm a jobless graduate, who works for a friend. This friend I work for, doesn't even pay, he just gives me stipends after every work I do. It's a laundry work. He owns the shop, so he's in charge of everything in the shop including, collections of money and all. My work is just to work. I do virtually everything in the shop. My problem is this guy almost all the time collects the money and doesn't even give me my share. The only time I see my share is when the I'm around when the monies are given to him. I'm hooked because I mostly feed in there house, because the shop is just within the house. I tried to get a good job, but nothing is forth coming. I even tried applying for casual jobs, still no luck. I'm currently in a dilemma because my parents are tired of me staying in there house, so currently I sleep in the shop, and it's not even conducive, but that's the only option I have. I tried contacting my relatives in Lagos if I could go and make a living there, but they aren't really interested me coming. Please I kindly need advise and help, because I'm heading towards depression. I'm actually 30 years old. With nothing to show for, except "I'm a graduate" tag. |
dangermouse:Thank you for your advice |
Good morning, I'm writing this with much and severe pains in my heart. I'm gradually sinking into depression, because my parents, especially my dad is making my life a living hell, just because I've finished school and served, and still at home. I actually just finished serving last year November, but the pressure on my head is unsurmountable and unbearable. My parents wanted me to finish school and secure a job to at least help there poor condition. I always tell them life is a gradual process. But it's always nagging of some sort, I always try to be calm amidst all of it, but sometimes it's not just easy, especially anytime my friends come visiting, that's always the topic and even to anyone that cares to listen. It's really frustrating really, I need help. |
Please dear nairalanders I want you guys to please help and criticize my write-up.its my first attempt. Bashing is allowed Richard Wright's masterpiece; Native son was a story about a young boy named Bigger Thomas, who murdered his master's daughter in cold blood, after smothering her, he carried her and took her to the burning furnace and dropped her inside the fire. It was a very gruesome and horrific way to die. Bigger was a poor black boy and his master's daughter was a rich White girl. If you haven't read the book, then the consequences is bettered imagined that said, or better still go find a copy and read. Eventually Bigger Thomas was sentenced to death. A lawyer tried in futility to see how Bigger Thomas sentence could be reduced to at least some years sentence, or maybe life imprisonment. Max the lawyer tried to bring claims in court that Bigger Thomas actually did commit the crime, but there are factors that actually contributed, mainly sociological factors. The society wasn't fair on Bigger, mainly because of his race, probably background and gender. It's understood that young male black folks are already at an disadvantage, because the are already labeled and tagged thugs, touts and rascals. The society frowns and looks at them with suspicion and disdain, mostly are judged even before they are known. So many factors was raised by Lawyer Max in order to get to reduce the sentence for Bigger. In the end his claims couldn't go through and Bigger Thomas was still sentenced to death. Dr Ben Carson in his book "The Big Picture" also made a claim for the young black male in America. Most lack direction and plans for there lives, they lack mentorship, so most of them lives with a victim mentally, making them vulnerable to crimes, because they feel betrayed. Now let me come home, a few days ago a promising young lad was gunned down by some trigger happy security men. This isn't the first of it's kind, it has happened one to many times across the country. The young Rinji who was just a boy of 20, doesn not deserve such a cruel and avoidable death. At least this time around the army didn't deny the act as the usually do, probably because of the media attention it generated, so it's only wise on there part to accept responsibility and own up to it. Ours is to hope, the matter isn't swept under the carpet as always. why is the black boy endengered? Why is he always tagged a rascal, even before anything about him is known. So many unanswered questions. |

The able president, looking ready for the next four years of bliss for Nigeria |
I might have a faint idea why this young promising girl committed suicide. Though I'm a guy, I nearly committed suicide also towards the end of my uni days, because I couldn't pay for my clearance and go for NYSC. But I held on trusting God. Now it's just a story. Depression is real, pls let's help each other. |
Please I don't want to serve in stream 1, is it possible for me to serve in stream two? |
I remember when you met me as in school to tell me that since we are the same tribe, we should join hands and pay the contributions our school said we should pay. I was surprised how you knew my name, because i was a junior boy then and you were my senior. Since then i had admired you so much. It will never be well with those responsible for your death. Rest on Senior Lirfa. |
sheer lies and outright treachery. |

The Nigerian government has approved the payment of N45 billion severance package to former staff of the defunct Nigeria Airways. The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said this on Wednesday in Abuja. Mr. Sirika told State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday that money has been approved for the settlement of the entitlements. He said: “Governments, in the past, decided just to liquidate Nigeria Airways without tending to the issue of the entitlements of the workers and they have been struggling to get that paid. “We came in and took it very seriously. I’m happy to announce that Mr. President has approved N45 billion which has been confirmed to be the entitlements of these workers and Ministry of Finance has been instructed to pay the money.” He explained that the ministry wrote to his office last week that they had received the instruction to pay the affected workers. They are setting up the modalities to pay, Mr. Sirika added. “You should know it won’t be paid through my ministry before somebody will say I take some of it. It will be paid by finance through a process, and that process will commence very soon,’’ he said. The minister disclosed that the Council also approved the procurement of operational vehicles for Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA. Affected workers of the Nigerian Airways had been embarking on protests nationwide over their unpaid entitlements since its liquidation by the federal government. But as at no dime has been paid to them and the have been dying like chickens everyday. pleases let the government pay this people their sweat the worked for it. |
