Nduka193:Sir, apology will be accepted only and when my item is entered into my warehouse. Direct your warehouse staff to do the needful. Infact let me give you my details: USPS Tracking Number: 9405509699938655315395, UNIT NG42746. I have emailed your office and attached the Ebay invoice twice yet nothing done. Thank you. |
Patrick007:Has your warehouse been updated ? Up till this moment, i'm yet to be updated. I resent the invoice, phoned their USA office, still promised to look into it and that information had been passed to warehouse dept. No doubt, i have missed the saturday shipping. |
Nduka193:Hello Mr. Nduka, Let me first commend you on how you handled the issues raised by Mr. Henry and how they can be resolved. Personally, I registered as a customer this year 2015 having read some of the positive feedbacs and recommendations on NL and as Mr. Henry pointed out, the services I received from my two deliveries so far has been excellent. But I fear if the ladastical attitude of some of your staff will not hamper the smooth relashionship I'm currently having with your company. To make my point, my item was delivered on Monday 3rd Aug, 2015 and up till this moment which is very unsuall has not been recorded into my warehouse. I sent an email which was replied 24hrs later requesting for my invoice which I did yet nothing done to my warehouse. I phoned your USA office promised of looking into it coupled with an email stating that necessary action will be taken. Now I cannot make the shipment for this week. What exactly is going on? Well I still believe in the company in addition to your previous explanations and hope you will quickly make amendments. Thank you. |
Patrick007:I am experiencing exactly the same problem you are having now. First and foremost, I learnt about this company through this NL and had received items twice from them infact seemlessly, the service was excellent, shipping delivered as promised even tracking was excellent. Butl now my item which was delivered to their office since Monday 3rd August has since not yet been loaded to my warehouse, sent an email and replied requesting for the item's invoice which I did, phoned their USA office promised to look into it which I believe they will by the response I got from a lady named Hannah. Overall, my experience so far with them have been a great one but hope necessary action is taken before Friday when i planned for the item to be shipped. |

The power supply in my area(Molade, Ibadan in Egbeda LGA) has become worst ever since the so called privatisation. Light only comes sometimes at midnight for only 2hrs and off again. |

spyder880: N700 and N800 for plastering? That was in the old days, at least 2 years back. Right now each partition is plastered with an average of N1,200-N2000. Under the deck is around N3,500-N4000 and Labour is in the region of N2000 per day. Thats the reality of today in most places. Some masons can agree to do your house for N2,000 and pay the labourer himself.Oga Spider, thank you for your candid suggestion. I thought as much hence my inquiry. Once again thank you for the clarification. |
Dear Oga Spyder, Nice work you are doing here. More grease to your elbow sir. I need your technical expertise and advice concerning the plastering of my house (Duplex) in Ibadan. In your previous advice on how to determine the charges on plastering by using the walls known as partition, you stated as follows in a normal 12x12 room that: 1. A partition ranges from =N=700.00 - =N=800.00 2. Decking =N=3,000.00 or counting of the planks and multiply the no. of planks by =N=350.00 Using this as a guide in my house of 12x12 a room with decking. =N=800x4 = =N=3,200.00(4 walls) Add =N=3,000.00 (Decking) Labourer =N=1,200.00(normal charge in Ibadan) Total =N=7,400.00 (Can anyone accept this charge?) 1. On average how many mason would do this room and how many days? (a) Can 2 masons + labourer do it in 1 day? (b) Can 2 masons + Labourer in 2 days (c) Can 1 mason + labourer in 2 days which is preferable? (d) Or never bother as long as agreement has been reached for the cost. 2. On average, how many bags of cement to do the 12x12 room (a) Plastering Decking (b) Walls and (c) Flooring Thank you my Building Prof. |
spyder880: You will provide all materials, sand, cement, water etc while the do the work and hang it. 4x4 window hood is N2500, smaller ones N1,500 while frontal pillars are N10-20k for long ones, ground to roof of duplex. However, these prices depend largely on the skill and expertise of the worker. The better ones charge higher.Oga Spyder thank you for your prompt reply and detailed explanation on the subject matter. You didn't mention the likely charges on the arcs. Any likely amount ? Thank you sir, |
Fellow NL, recently I requested for a quotation of a simple design on window hoods, dining arch and Pillars for my building (Duplex) located in Ibadan. Thus the lists are as follows: Window Hood (Big) (normal standard window size 4x4)24pcs @=N=3,200.00 = =N=76,800.00 Window Hood (Small) (Toilet windows) 6pcs @ =N=2,000.00 = =N=12,000.00 Arcs 4pcs @ =N=15,000.00 = =N=60,000.00 Big Pillars (located in front of the building) 2pcs @ =N=30,000.00 = =N=60,000.00 (These are long pillars) TOTAL =N=208,800.00 In addition, 35bags of cement and 10tons of sharp sand (to be supplied by me) The questions are 1. Is this quotation not outrageous? 2. I’m I suppose to supply the materials? (unlike POP men that charges with materials) Please advice and kindly give the normal charges on window hoods, pillars and arcs if known. Thanks. |
I THINK YOU SHOULD STICK WITH YOUR TARGET ESTIMATE OF 800K TO AVOID ANY SURPRISES.TO GET A GOOD PLASTER,I DONT THINK 600K IS ANY WHERE CLOSE TO GET A GOOD PLASTER,I BUDGET #1M FOR MINE BUT AM HOPING ITS NOT MORE THAN 850K,ITS MORE TO AIM HIGHER AND FIND OUT ITS LOWER THAN OTHERWISE. A LITTLE BREAKDOWN FOR YOU, 150 CEMENT @ 1700 = #262,500 (ACCORDING TO SPYDER,CHANCE IS,IT MIGHT BE MORE) 8 TRIPS PLASTER SAND @#25000 = #200,000 WORKMANSHIP LABOR #380,000 = #380,000 (VERY VERY GOOD PRICE,SEEN OTHERS QUOTE CLOSE TO 700K) TOTAL = #842,500 THEN YOU THINK ABOUT OTHER EXPENSES LIKE WATER AND MINOR UNEXPECTED STUFF,WHICH EVER WAY YOU LOOK AT IT, DOUBT IF 600K WILL BE ENOUGH,I STAND TO BE CORRECTED THOUGH, GOODLUCK ALL THE SAME.
@Love-Tosin, Thank you for your great advise and particularly the analysis you made. It all makes my decisions better because l stand a better chance of not been cheated putting Oga Spider's analysis and yours into consideration. Thank you all. |
spyder880: My quote for N450k for all plastering (including the parapet) was not a wise move. I have seen that I will struggle to do all that work with N550k-N580k. I am still asking my client to please upgrade the money as we are about to start plastering soon.
Oga Spider, many thanks for your quick response. With your explanation,i strongly believe i should prepare my mind towards at least max. N600,000.00 for my project rather than the previous estimate of about N800,000.00. I must go back to the drawing board with my bricklayer or look elsewhere for an alternative. Indeed you have made my day. Thank you and God Bless. |
spyder880: It is called "partition" not dimension. A partition is usually 12ft of wall space. I pay N1500 per partition and pay N2000 for each partition if he will pay his server after the day. I have a plastering budget of N450,000 for this duplex on this thread, (all materials and labour, up and down plus pararet plastering.)I am still asking my Oga to upgrade the amount for us.any pictures for us?Oga Spider, First and foremost, thank you for this thread. Personally, l have learnt a lot of things from you even though l'm a silent fan of yours. My question is, you quoted N450,000.00 for plastering including materials and labour for the duplex. Can you please estimate how many bags of cements to complete this job. I asked this question because l'm currently on a project of this size(duplex) in Ibadan l was told to prepare for 200-250 bags of cement and N380,000,00 for labour. Thanks. |
omobadan: I don't know what they see before making Ibadan one of 5 African cities to watch. But what a lot of Nigerians don't see when it comes to any Nigerian cities beside Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt is the enormous potential other States/Cities have. Ibadan, the sleeping giant of Africa is gradually waking up from her slumber. Do people actually think the Financial Times will just pluck any city from thin air? Ibadan is building secretly and if people think the aesthestics of the city right now is the reason why they're dismissing the report, then they don't know anything about their own country. Most of the negative response is from people who can't see past their noses. This should be treated as a bit of good news but what I see is silliness. Typical of Nigerians. Keep seeing brown roofs on your way to Lagos and when foreigners start making billions off you, you go dey complain. Open your eyes people! Thanks you. You have said it all. |

I'm here again to get more lessons from your great school. More grease to your elbow. I'm still waiting for your reply as regard my question on the no of iron rods used for this project looking at the picture of this fine decking and fantastic work of the iron bender, how many tons of iron rods used. Thank you again. |
Dear Mr. Spider. You are doing a great job. More grease to your elbow. No doubt l'm really learning a lot of things from this thread even though l have been a quite member of your students. My question is from the picture of the decking and the list of no of iron rods bought 12mm = 130pcs 16mm = 29pcs 10mm = 80pcs etc. If l'm not mistaken, could these be the iron rods listed for all the decking in the picture ? If not, kindly tell us how many tons exactly you used for we your students for reference purposes and for our future projects. Thanks. |
