Religion / Only A Fool Will Say..... by BrotherJohn: 7:50pm On May 17, 2015
I recently had a run-in on YouTube with a naturalist professor who bagged his PhD in religious studies. Respected in both Japan and USA for his academic excellence.

Professor with fantastic academic achievements? Yes. Knowledge of God? Zero! Atheist....? Of course, they are living in denial or should say it the Bible-way? They are experiencing a strong delusion, for denying EVIDENCE.

This was curled from a long the debate I had with him, for which he could not reply but ran away after giving vague replies that can be summed as: "All these points you presented have been written in other religions before the Bible was written."

Good, I said, "Show me ONE of those texts as proof that the Bible was plagiarized." He could NOT provide just one!

Religion / Re: How To Overcome The Beast And Its Mark-666 by BrotherJohn: 3:42pm On Oct 16, 2014
@BraveGuy, thanks for posting the article and encouragement. However, I must say that you don't need to get into any debates or arguments, just share the Gospel. That is all we are commanded to do. When you share and you are rejected, move on. There is no compulsion. The only time you should "defend" the faith is when you are questioned on your faith as to why you believe in the things you choose to believe; then you should be able to provide a good answer. Once again, thanks for sharing the article.

Dapo777:

He already accepted that he jumped into conclusion, why don't u tell him What psalm 137:9 is rather than beating around the bush.
This is What Christians do When They are faced with difficult questions. They start beating around the bush to escape the question and hide their folly.

To an extent, I like it when Christians are challenged to go back and STUDY their Bibles. I am really NOT interested in arguments, but let me point out that if only Christians would truly study and understand their Bibles, they would not only be better witnesses, but they would enjoy more peace in their lives.

To put straight your quote, let us look at different versions that clarify this statement of Psalm 137 verse 9:

(ASV) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones Against the rock.

(BBE) Happy is the man who takes your little ones, crushing them against the rocks.

(Bishops) Blessed shall he be: that taketh & throweth thy litle children against the stone.

(Brenton) Blessed shall he be who shall seize and dash thine infants against the rock.

(CEV) May the Lord bless everyone who beats your children against the rocks!

(Darby) Happy he that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.

(ERV) Bless the one who grabs your babies and smashes them against a rock.

(ESV) Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!

(Geneva) Blessed shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy children against the stones.

(GNB) who take your babies and smash them against a rock.

(GW) Blessed is the one who grabs your little children and smashes them against a rock.

(ISV) How blessed will be the one who seizes your young children and pulverizes them against the cliff!

(JPS) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.

(JUB) Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes thy offspring against the stones.

(KJV) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

(KJV-1611) Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

(KJV-BRG) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

(LEB) Happy shall be he who seizes and smashes your children against the rock.

(LITV) Blessed is he who seizes your little ones and dashes them against the stone!

(MKJV) Blessed is he who seizes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

(RV) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.

(Webster) Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

(YLT) O the happiness of him who doth seize, And hath dashed thy sucklings on the rock!

It is apparent that Yahweh pronounces a blessing on the one who smashes the head of Babylon's baby. However, what you have also failed to acknowledge is that this is a prophecy regarding the End of Days, of which are now experiencing. See my article:
http://brotherjohn.org/mystery-of-the-end-of-days/
&
http://brotherjohn.org/woman-of-revelation-12-and-the-man-child/

I have taken time to explain these things in those two articles.

You must understand who Babylon is and who the suckling child of Babylon is as well.

Babylon is after YOUR destruction EOS.
The baby of Babylon is the system, by which it wants to carry it out in YOUR life.

It is sad, when people don't understand what God is truly saying and they reach unreasonable conclusions. I pray and hope that you will understand these things and see that God is not after your ill, but your well-being, if only you will care as much for your life, too.

Hey Brave Brother, I was about going to bed when I noticed your post about my latest article, wink .
I sincerely hope it wakes people up to the realities of our time and makes people to go back and study their Bibles to find the truth for themselves. Even besides the Bible, there are pointers all around us that is confirming that we are a few "seconds" away from the Return of the Lord.

Unfortunately, some Christians are still thinking they will suddenly disappear into thin air, when the Bible never promised such - Matthew 13:30 - People need to start bracing themselves for the Great Tribulation (Ebola is spreading fast!).

Religion / Re: Who Is The Antichrist? by BrotherJohn: 10:21pm On Sep 28, 2014
Epathra: AntiChrist in simple English
Anti- against, opposed, contrary
Christ- the annointed
To sum ΐτ̅ up - anyone or anything contrary to Christ.
Don't wait 4 the animals or beast described in the bible. The antichrist is on our altars, with false, heretic teachings. In our homes, with perverse media release and the likes.
Need I say more?

I agree with you 100%..... BUT, the irony of it all is that the AntiChrist will not be a stranger to things of Christ, he will be someone in the mould of Judas Iscariot.

Religion / Re: Who Is The Antichrist? by BrotherJohn: 8:58pm On Sep 28, 2014
Revelation 17 verses 8 and 11 describes the antichrist to be a man who shall go into perdition. Paul the apostle had earlier described him as someone who would be drawn into perdition (Hebrews 10:39).
Just as the Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, so also shall the beast, the spirit, will enter into a man and make him the antichrist.
He would be someone who would choose to pay the ultimate price of destruction because he would sell himself to do evil (2Kings 17:17).

Question: Who Is The AntiChrist?
Answer: I have taken time to delve into this subject and answer some difficult questions, which they avoid answering in most churches. You will read things that are often ignored in the Bible that explains who the REAL AntiChrist is and how you can identify him.
http://brotherjohn.org/who-is-the-antichrist/

I believe you will be SHOCKED who the AntiChrist will be and where he will come from. This is not speculation. The Bible has the answer!

I hope it also makes you do more research, especially in the Bible.
I will answer any question posted on the website's comment area.

Religion / Biblical Records - Unsurpassed! by BrotherJohn: 9:48pm On Aug 31, 2014
"The Bible record of the origin of man is unsurpassed by any other history of origins, either in artless simplicity or in scientific accuracy. Modern science has over and over again corroborated and confirmed the revealed account of the solidarity of the human family. Her best exponents have conceded the sublime fact that all men, notwithstanding their perplexing diversities, social, intellectual, and physical, must have originated from one single pair. In the similarity amongst ancient languages, philology has discovered historical monuments which prove not only that the different nations sprang from a common origin, but also that their forefathers must have gazed at the same sky, tilled the same soil, and lived under the same roof, and spoke the same language." - John A. SangoCrusader: God told the Israelites to slaughter all the Amalekites. Kill all men, women, children, animals and SUCKLING BABIES.

Any God that can do that is just as bad as Boko Haram.

Why do Christians always ignore this passage? It shows that God is wicked and vengeful and if I were not an atheist, I would rather follow Lucifer!

"Kill all sucking babies"... smh.

Have you ever taken the time to get to the root of the matter?
Why God swore to perpetually destroy the Amalekites?
Do you even know what that name means? God and check!

Do you know what the Amalekites did to Israel when Israel was passing by their land?

Let me help you a bit:
Deu 25:17 "Remember what the Amalekites did to you as you were coming from Egypt.
Deu 25:18 They had no fear of God, and so they attacked you from the rear when you were tired and exhausted, and killed all who were straggling behind.
Deu 25:19 So then, when the LORD your God has given you the land and made you safe from all your enemies who live around you, be sure to kill all the Amalekites, so that no one will remember them any longer. Do not forget!

Today, if a bully comes into your family and goes after the youngest ones, say 6-month-old and 2-year-old, in the household and begins to smash their heads against the wall, you will be clapping and saying well done? If that is what you will do, then you must be the worst person on planet Earth!

It is a coward who shoots his opponent from the back!

God will defend the weak and innocent one.

blakky97: I believe the Bible to be the work of man that has been corrupted many hundreds of times over the years to fit in with the ideology of the times. Many of you choose to read and take all the Bibles writings as being true and accurate without question. I am more open minded and willing to question the facts.

I do not want to attack anybody, but below are a list of contradictions in the Holy Bible and I would be interested in hearing from people and how such mistakes and errors can be possible in the book of God?

1. Who incited David to count the fighting men of Israel?

9. When did David bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem? Before defeating the Philistines or after?

* After (2 Samuel 5 and 6)
* Before (I Chronicles 13 and 14)

10. How many pairs of clean animals did God tell Noah to take into the Ark?

* Two (Genesis 6:19, 20)
* Seven (Genesis 7:2). But despite this last instruction only two pairs went into the ark (Genesis 7:8-9)

11. When David defeated the King of Zobah, how many horsemen did he capture?

* Three hundred and twenty-eight (Nehemiah 7:22)

Some people are just too sick that only God can help them! I think you're one of them, was this thread for picking out what you claim to be bible mistakes? Why can't you just start another thread instead of hijacking this one?

According to the Wycliffe Global Alliance, as of October 2013 the statistics are:

Number of world languages: 6918
Total languages with some published scripture = 2817
Languages with the complete Bible: 513

I like to ask questions that make sense instead of arguing blindly over facts that I have no clue about.

#1. Would God be happy at the death of one of these people - Jewish or Palestinian?
#2. Where are the Hamas fighters getting their weapons from? Who is supplying them?
#3. Who are the manufacturers of these weapons to Israel and Hamas, are we sure it is not the same company?
Mind you, UK sells weapons to Russia.
#4. Would it be safe to use your (school) shelter as a place to launch or store weapons/missiles?
#5. Who actually has the upper hand in this war - considering overwhelming weaponry sophistication?
#6. If you are fighting with a much more powerful enemy and he says let us sit and discuss terms of ceasefire - what would you do - ignore him or sit down and discuss?
#7. What would you prefer kill 1 person and lose 100 in return?
#8. What is the true role of the US in this war? Are they not openly criticizing Israel but still supplying them with weapons?
#9. Is it okay to use innocent people as human shields?
#10. Is it okay to fire your rockets or missiles without a specific military target?
#11. Does one side's irresponsibility toward civilian deaths absolve the other's?
#12. By the way, who started this recent fight? Does this "person" not expect retaliation?
#13. When the mosquito is biting its victim what is the response of bystanders - usually NONE. But when the victim fights back with insecticide spray - should the bystander complain of heavy-handedness?
#14. "Attack is the best form of defence" - Are both parties not using this maxim?
#15. What amount of destruction would have happened in Israel if all the Hamas bombs had been landing successfully in Israel?
#16. Someone is actually making money from this conflict and can't be bothered by who is dying or not - children or innocents - who is this "Someone"?

http://www.vox.com/2014/7/30/5937119/palestinian-civilian-casualties-gaza-israel
Amnesty International, which has a number of people on the ground in Gaza and consistently condemns Israeli and Palestinian abuses alike, announced recently on its site that it does not see proof of Hamas using human shield — but they added an important asterisk.

"Palestinian armed groups have stored munitions in and fired indiscriminate rockets from residential areas in the Gaza Strip," an Amnesty report noted recently. The groups have also "reportedly urged residents in some areas of the Gaza Strip not to leave their homes" after Israel had warned it would attack the area, all of which have the effect of putting Palestinians at risk in the fighting.

An important secondary question, though, is whether they do this out of a deliberate desire to hide behind (or even provoke the bombing of) Palestinian civilians, or out of simple disregard for putting those civilians at risk.

Some observers argue that Hamas is more than just indifferent to civilian deaths, and may be doing something even worse than hiding behind them: that the group actively wants Israel to kill Palestinian civilians so that Hamas can rally world opinion against Israel.

frosbel:

Apart from the 6 million Jews Catholic Hitler wiped out , Europe has been known for it's intermittent but brutal pogroms of Jews in which millions were butchered , others forced to convert and still others exiled. So when it comes to tolerance the Christian religion has actually done far more evil to the Jews.

I like the way you put it, Christian religion, not true Christianity. For it was that same religious system that killed Jesus Christ after accusing Him of blasphemy.

True Christianity and Christian Religion are two different things.

mazaje1:

did he look anything like the girl's painting that was posted by braveguy is another question i will like him to answer. . . .
qstar:
Oh really, you encountered him? was he Caucasian, Mongolian or Ethiopian?

Honestly, I wished I could describe Him as vivid as the painting posted by braveguy, but I guess I will disappoint everyone, possibly including braveguy, too.

In my encounter, I can't say He looked or didn't look like the painting, but somehow I just knew it was Him. It was a knowing that cannot be denied. It's a bit mysterious yet very real. The irony of it all was that I had that encounter twice in one night. The first, He was in the midst of a crowd and afterwards I woke up and mused to myself that it was only a dream and turned the other side and slept back only to see him again, but it was just the two of us and He said to me, "Follow Me". I cannot forget those words.

You may read the full story here: http://brotherjohn.org/satan-taught-me-jesus-mastered-me/

I must say, however, I am yet to see or hear anyone who has had an encounter with and would not recognize it was Him. Saul of Tarsus, who went about persecuting the followers of Jesus and throwing them into prisons like criminals, had just one encounter with him and he immediately recognized Him, "Who are you, Lord?" And He answered, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against pricks". It shocked him to the core, but he couldn't argue against what happened to him. So, if you experience it, you will become like one of us and you'd be arguing for instead of against and others will be saying to you, "It is all in your mind, you made it up or you're being hallucinogenic."

I saw this article YE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD and I think it is relevant to this thread.

War is not a matter of one soldier against one soldier. It is now a war of guns and bombs and germs and chemicals and landmines against soldiers and mothers and children and babes. Any way to intimidate the foe! Scare and blast loved ones out of this world into heaven or hell — that is the way to win! We little realize the awful depths into which the spirit of warfare carries us. As one wrote of a certain war: “I had to aim carefully at the straw roof and only succeeded at the third shot. The wretches who were inside, seeing their roof burning, jumped out and ran off like mad...surrounded by a circle of fire about five thousand people came to a sticky end. It was like hell, the smoke rose to incredible heights, and the flames reddened the setting sun.” Someone said, “War is hell,” and may I add, he who participates in it is therefore a minister of hell. Could it be otherwise?

War is still ruling our world and it is not spiritual; it is carnal, political, and devilish. As ambassadors of the Kingdom of Heaven we pledge allegiance to a higher kingdom than any of the kingdoms of this world. Sons of God cannot fight carnal warfare and at the same time “Love our enemies, bless them that curse us, do good to them that hate us, and pray for them which despitefully use us and persecute us; that we may be the sons of our Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” (Mat. 5:44-45). We cannot fight carnal warfare because we are ambassadors for Christ! An ambassador is a representative of another country and he is not subject to the political laws of the country where he abides. He is granted diplomatic immunity!

The King whom we represent has commissioned us to “love our enemies,” to “bless and curse not,” and “see that none render evil for evil to any man.” We are to “walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering.” “Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind.” How directly opposed are these attributes to the rules and spirit of war! Under the old covenant Yahweh required that His people Israel should go to war and fight and kill, but that covenant has been done away, and we are under the new covenant of grace whereby the law (nature) of God is written upon our hearts, and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God!

If fighting and killing on carnal battlefields is right for the sons of God, then the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek, the priesthood of grace, mercy, love, reconciliation, and salvation is wrong; if the priesthood of love, even love for our enemies, is right, then for a son of God to participate in the carnal savagery of warfare is wrong. God is raising up in the earth a Kingdom of Priests — as SAVIOURS shall they come up on mount Zion! It is impossible to unconditionally and infinitely love all men while hating some men. And in the “war machine” of the nations it is impossible to go into battle with the “right frame of mind” unless your superiors have instilled into you a sense of outrage, anger, hostility, and hatred toward the enemy. It is not possible to be in preparation to deliver creation from the bondage of corruption while going out in the world’s war machine savagely blowing men to bits for whom Christ died. The irony of war is that there are in most cases soldiers who are Christians on both sides. These men, saved, perhaps baptized in the Holy Spirit, members of the body of Christ, who are to love and care for one another, and esteem one another, as Christ does us; and who are supposedly endued with a divine and heavenly love for all men, march out on the battlefield of carnal warfare at the command of their worldly governments and unregenerated politicians — and BLOW ONE ANOTHER’S BRAINS OUT! Brother shoots brother, and brother bombs brother — each sometimes in the name of Christ! Ponder the fact. In international wars over the past 2,000 years, professing Christians have killed professing Christians by the millions! I have no hesitation in telling you that it is one of the most ridiculous contradictions in the world!

Interesting discussion between frosbel & shdemidemi.

But do you realize that you may be arguing on the same side of this whole Gaza Conflict? I believe there is still a hidden enemy of this conflict that you are yet address - The New World Order.

The masses are usually the victims in these kinds of things - on both sides of the fence. How can there be world war and arms are being sponsored for both sides by the same people?

Watch this documentary and you may discover that you're probably on the same side of the argument.

I wholly agree with everyone that this is a complex topic, but it is so sad that Christians are not living in obedience to our Lord. The sin of disobedience is often overlooked, God says it is as evil as witchcraft.

I don't believe that divorce is a genuine option for the Christian. You see, even if your partner commits fornication, while you have the grounds for divorce, you are expected to also expected to forgive the sinning partner. But what if she refuses to repent from his/her ways? Then a separation is called for in such an environment. But as you separate, you are not permitted to remarry.

As in the original post, Jocelyn should be obedient to her Lord instead of her biological father and forgive Wilson. And Wilson, should pursue love and restoration of her marriage. But what if Wilson has pursued restoration of his marriage through friends and church?

Mat 18:15 "If your brother sins against you, go to him and show him his fault. But do it privately, just between yourselves. If he listens to you, you have won your brother back.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not listen to you, take one or two other persons with you, so that 'every accusation may be upheld by the testimony of two or more witnesses,' as the scripture says.
Mat 18:17 And if he will not listen to them, then tell the whole thing to the church. Finally, if he will not listen to the church, treat him as though he were a pagan or a tax collector.

After taking all these steps, Wilson is supposed to treat Jocelyn as an unbeliever. I believe he should just accept his Cross and keep praying for Jocelyn, but he can't remarry. However, not all can take this bible principle.

Open comment to BraveGuy,

That Bob Dylan video you posted was quite interesting.

I was following all your arguments and counter-arguments. Why do you think I could have done a better job? At my age, I have come to a reasonable conclusion that sometimes, these debates are not worth it. Just as you (and I) are so convinced about our faith or the line of belief we have chosen so do others in atheism, agnosticism, islam, idolatry, and so on. There is a lot going on at the background all that we see, a secret world, where the good and bad are in conflict. I have an unflinching love for Christ, but as you may have read from my personal testimony of how I had a personal encounter with Christ in two dreams in one night and my conviction was completed.

For those who think that Christians are just brainwashed, that is simply not true. Personally, I was into esoteric arts and it was while practising these dark arts that I came to realise how powerful and unique the Bible truly is. At the time, there are some dangerous activities such as invocation of spirits that one engages in, but before you do this, you have to read Psalm 91 repeatedly for protection. I used to think why do I have ti use the Bible if the other esoteric books I was using are supposed to be much more powerful? It was all these experiences that convinced me that there is something mysteriously powerful about that Bible. And even at some 30 years of reading this Bible, I am still discovering new things daily.

Somehow, I admire some of the atheists for their quest and continually asking soul-searching questions, but I encourage them to also read the Bible instead of dismissing it by facial appeal, there is a whole lot to glean from it. Try to include it in your research and ask questions about it's contents. You must remember that the Bible is actually a compilation of 66 books and they explain each other.

Lastly, I have a video for you and your opponents to watch

That is the authorship of the Bible. It is the most important issue, since the Bible is the only validation for the Christian God. If the Akannile girl or whatever has visions, it can either be from the Devil or God, so her visions are immaterial. Better still, God can plant visions in all our heads, if he wishes to.

My take on the issue of the authorship of the Bible is: the Bible as confirmed by braveguy himself, is written/chalked down by humans albeit under INSPIRATION from God. The manner of proving the inspiration is a sub-issue. However it is clear that in the perspective of the biblical writers they believe they were inspired. They have their opinion as to what Divine Inspiration means, but most importantly there is no external nor objective criteria of divine Inspiration!

So the Bible is nothing more than the self confessions of its writers. That's my take. Pls provide yours.

I just like your mature sense. That was why I would loved to see you and braveguy engage in definite topic. All that have been discussed so far went on several subjects that were unnecessary.

I have tried to follow this thread for a little while now. Call it conspiracy theory of anything, but are you aware of a lot of things going on in the world right now that is confirming the prophecies of the Bible?

All the Bilderbergs, illuminati groups, freemanson orders, alien invasion, UFOs, do you know how many tests that are being performed by the governments (i don't want to mention any specific government) on human mental manipulation? The Bourne movies are real, but a lot has also advanced since.

By the time you take all these things into consideration and you read the prophecies of the Bible, reality will dawn on you that the Bible is true all along.

While I don't think I have the verve and energy to debate people like Braveguy, I think you should review some of the comments he has been posting.

@braveguy
every believer have what he has been called to do, while I commend your efforts, I believe your reward would be with Christ, you must remember to share the Gospel of love, not arguments. Share the Gospel and leave everyone to their fate. One day, we'll all know if God truly exists or not, just that it will be too late for some.

I agree with you emmyskies, but don't you think that they read these things in the Bibles, hear sermons after sermons in the church like this? I have noticed several broken marriages and relationships, it is usually that someone refuses to take on the Mind of Christ.

One prominent thing in this case is the fact that, she is living in accordance to the words of her human father instead of her heavenly father. Her human father says, "one strike and that's it", but her heavenly Father says, "seventy times seven strikes per day before you can give up". So, they are not motivated by their Christian values (Word of God), but by cultural or human values.

Family / Marital Conflict - What Do You Suggest? by BrotherJohn: 10:45pm On Jul 19, 2014
Jocelyn and Wilson have been married for 16 years, in that time Wilson feels that Jocelyn has always been verbally abusive to him. It is as if she has verbal diarrhoea anytime there is an argument.

Anything and everything has been said to hurt him. Jocelyn on the other hand feels that it is her husband who is the bully and aggressor and she is always first to apologises every time they fight. She feels he is not the very forgiving type.

One day during an argument, Wilson hits back at her with a slap. Jocelyn was so taken aback and in that instant she remembers that her dad told her that she should never stay with any man who hits her because his own sister was killed by a violent husband. Jocelyn proceeds to call the police who immediately ordered Wilson to leave the house. It is now 2 months since Wilson left the house insisting that the embarrassment was too much and he doesn’t think there is a future for them.

Jocelyn misses him but she is afraid that once is more than enough, he could likely do it again. The family and church have tried to help them work it out but nothing seems to be working. There is a stalemate which means Jocelyn is left with responsibility of looking after 2 children. The first one seems to side with dad and is being rude to her, the younger child though largely confused seems to be on her side.

Is Jocelyn right?

What is the solution, divorce or reconcilliation?

qstar: Hey Braveguy! Stop posting lewd links.

I suspect your other moniker has been banned too. The antispambot is programmed to do such bans.

I have been following this thread with some interests and I like some of BraveGuy's and Kay17 exchanges, why was he banned? Can you show us proof that he posted lewd links? He just posted a moment ago that someone was deleting his comments and suspending him. And I told myself that I needed a proof that he wasn't making it up and took a screenshot myself. I have checked the screenshot again and can't find the link.

Jesus says, "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."
