Bishopking: Surprisingly, it seems every nigerian youth now want to be rich overnight.
The so- called herbalist is also out to make money at the expense of the rich seekers. I have analysed how I perceive the system works.
Now, we have rich seekers (RS), human-head contractors (HHC), herbalists and the Law (enforcement agents?)
Methodology
The RS, HHC and Herbalists avoids the law as much as possible
In this simple analysis, only the herbalist ans HHC becomes rich, i.e earn some money.
Now, the RS comes to the herbalist. He wants quick money. The herbalist said no problem. Bring N100,000 (one hundred thousand naira) or even much less. But the herbalist only wants his money without any revenge seeking. Now to put the RS in perpetual bondage (in which case he will not be able to seek a legal revenge), he asked him to commit a heinious crime. Most common is bringing a fresh human head. Hence, murder must be involved. If the money charged the RS is small, they might say the RS should pay specially for the service of providing him with the fresh human head. In such instance, they made the RS believe that he was buying human head (still illeal).
Now the HHC has his share while the herbalist has his share. They have become richer by commiting crimes. Their accomplice, the RS is not in the end. But he dare not protest. Now for him to regain his loss and possible gain, he must look for another RS while the already fooled RS becomes a HHS and part of the ring. They may also go into other forms of crime. In that case, the crime circle keeps growing and none dare leave because of the heineous crimes they have commited.
But some people will say this is not so! well if you have a better idea, let us hear it. Dont come here however and be saying rubbish! Talk intelligently please!!
brothers: @shockwave91 make I end them fight for them Eapps:
So says the guy who just served himself on a platter with his contradicting posts, his desperate effort to derail and his immature tantrums, imagine if I'm to capitalize on those
and that is a bad thing because?
If it's anything it just proves how interesting. You are or would you rather prefer if I acted like those childish nairalanders in the house who make recurring attacks using a different nairaland account acting like someone else?
Ok so I'm pretending to laugh at my stup1d1ty? You know that doesn't make sense right? If my laughter upsets you that much just say so
Pardon my zero brain activity here but you can't expect me to invest all of my energy into this, it is a no brainer, a movie not meeting its expectation cannot be classified as a flop simple, but if you want references, you could give me the website where you saw age of ultron's commercial expectations and I will look through the website for the tons of other hollywood flicks that share the same fate
Hmmm I've barely even committed to this issue and you're already running out of things and you're basically just relying on desperate insults just to stay relevant, you should commend me for how much I'm trying not to laugh right now,
but jokes aside though, have we met before? cause you seem to be taking this mudane issue way too personal
Exchange of words would just make things more meaningless you know that. anyway if you want to fight so bad why don't you review your other prospects? like mrmagoo for instance You just might just have some "luck" there
Watch out for raalsalghul's repsonse
Raalsalghul: Once again you have failed to inform me of when I. Contradicted myself because your lack of reasoning knows no bounds. You were the one who asked the question and I provided my answer too bad your brain is like a kick and start generator and the longer I spend to clarify things for your empty head the harder it gets for you so I will just allow you to keep swimming in your stup1d1ty Moreover,I still have plenty of things to say but your cluelessness is hardly making it a challenger so I've grown bored finally, how much does marvel pay you to make a fool of yourself all over nairaland?
Oya raalsalghul eapps we all know as e dey go, we know say the two of you get sense just shake hands make everything finish for here so we go fit hear word
So says the guy who just served himself on a platter with his contradicting posts, his desperate effort to derail and his immature tantrums, imagine if I'm to capitalize on those
Raalsalghul: . and like I guessed you couldn't just ignore my post. You had to reply.
and that is a bad thing because?
If it's anything it just proves how interesting. You are or would you rather prefer if I acted like those childish nairalanders in the house who make recurring attacks using a different nairaland account acting like someone else?
Raalsalghul: . You keep typing LoL to give me this false impression that you are laughing, laughing at your brain's inability to put a valid and logical argument
Ok so I'm pretending to laugh at my stup1d1ty? You know that doesn't make sense right? If my laughter upsets you that much just say so
Raalsalghul: . I gave you some references; Shawshank redemption and Transformers: Age of extinction, but your sub-zero arguing skills couldn't come up with one.
Raalsalghul: . I guess your I.Q is still operating at the level of a primary one student who thinks 1+1=11. Moreover, if someone at your age (considering the profile pic) could not put up a reasonable argument with proper references, then Mr. Bean's character is a genius compared to you. You might be physically mature, but up there is as empty as a vacuum.
Raalsalghul: . Finally, giddy up cos if it's exchange of words you want here, then am down!
Exchange of words would just make things more meaningless you know that. anyway if you want to fight so bad why don't you review your other prospects? like mrmagoo for instance You just might just have some "luck" there
mrmagoo: guy! No call am review o the op wey write am talk say no be review lol!
where is prof800 and my retract post? Ehen you dey do parsheer abi?
guy abeg no kill person with laff
However I think you have a point, there was even a radio show one day Where a guy said; nigeria's problems are still present because all nigerians do is talk ,it may works for other countries but it may not work for us sometimes We need to think and act differently IMO for nollywood to develop - they should scrap segregation in the industry not that hausa will do their own seperately from The igbos and the yorubas they should all come together and combine their resources and expertise - open investment platforms to fund film projects and developmental projects or courses etc - more importantly, nigerian movies should do their own thing and stop copying hollywood and co like oct 1 for instance was a good movie but the detective serial killer routine was too colombo/sherlock holme-ish for my liking and even though afolayan could get away with it most nollywood movies fail woefully doing the same thing like this 1897 it won't surprise me if they shot the movie with troy in mind and now look at what happened, nollywood should have its kind of stories, concepts, content if possible all nollywood movies should be shot in indigenous languages So we can relate to these movies and african culture can be promoted My own take sha
dBard: You haven't seen the movie and yet you're attacking someone else's views on it
s.m.h....
Nigerians are a 'funny' set.
You totally bnailed it nigerians are funny people let me tell you a funny story See how everyone is shining teeth with villageboi because he is criticizing a local mOvie There was a thread where the same villageboi criticized a hollywood movie I think it was godzilla or pacific rim If you see what nairalanders told him? I even felt upset despite the fact that I wasn't the one being insulted There was this particular comment someone made"hardwork goes into all these movies and some amateur who has never seen a camera will show up and condemn it" I was like My God so hard work doesn't go into nollywood films? Even if its the crappiest movie in the world, shooting a movie is never an easy task it almost looks like nigerians are programmed to be bias if you criticize a bad hollyweood film tthey call you a hater but if you condemn any nollywood movie at all then its constructive and anybody who does not join them in their condemnation is automatically a supporter of mediocrity and a slowpokre Nigerians indeed are funny people maybe I'll make that my new signature Interesting thread
Sanchez01: True, I agree, it's a great movie but sometimes critics don't see things the way we see them. Here are some of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Read them and see for yourself. Meanwhile, I'll post some here...
See harsh comments man people wicked o This is a really interesting too bad I'm here when its all ended
lechiffre: my point is if we want nollywood to grow ideally criticism should accelerate development but practically......... no one is listening
@lechiffre my brotherr thank you That was how in one episode jara, emeka ike was a guest when helen paul asked about the errors in the movie industry the emeka ike didn't even flinch he was like it pays my bills and it gives you entertainment journalists work to do I just laffed critics hardly fulfill their purpose these days even in hollywood see tyler perry one of the most successful black movie directors in the world do you know how many bad reviews this guys movies get yet he ignores them and keeps chucking out more and more of his typical movies There was even a time when I think marc foster or spielberg during the launch of a movie said "its doesn't matter what other people think about your work what matters is what you think good advice but it sounds like another fancy way of telling the critics to go phuck themselves, the only use I have for reviews is to know what movie to watch and sometimes they even get it wrong
Oga Orikinla, no vex but I was seriously disappointed with this film - remember over a year ago there was that long thread on this film and we talked about so many things - especially the extremely poor VFX and the 'supposed' $18m budget which I straight up called BS. Well the film remained just as bad as the trailer (no they did not ever attempt to rework the crappy VFX).
This is a HUGE story, a huge part of our history and should have been a huge EPIC of a film... sadly it was so underwhelmingly small that a friend I took thought that they were fighting for a little village or patch of land and not a whole Benin Kingdom. When she got home she started reading about the Benin Kingdom and couldn't understand where the $1m budget went. This did not even look like a 100K film... yes it was shot on the 'regular' RED EPIC... sadly not too many of our films look like films when shot on such amazing cameras but end up looking like they were shot on 'video' - post-production people take note.
There was zero crowd. Benin Kingdom soldiers no pass 20 sef. When the Oba's daughter was getting married crowd no pass 30. Seriously how hard is it to go into a village or 2 and get 150-200 people as crowd (shebi na 'epic' you dey make?) This was a joke. Whenever it went into the 1897 'era' you could just not for anything believe you had been transported to that timeline. Costumes were poor, the oyinbo people sef wore kiddy plastic-costume police caps from the 'One Pound' shop and the t-shirts were so modern - there couldn't have been crew-neck elasticated t-shirts in 1897...Duh! Oh and the 'nylon' shorts... why not 'cotton' - Didn't these people watch 'October 1' which is a zillion light years better? Yes na period drama but the acting was theatrical and generally poor, various things in the edit made it unintentionally comical - this was a serious subject matter nah! Anyway I no go yab the film too much - this was a seriously, seriously missed opportunity. Of course it will pick up the normal "Let's-pity-and-dash-those-black-African-people" some awards from festivals that no one has heard of because the subject matter is a bit controversial.
We really need to learn "Do something well or don't do it at all." Filmmaking is not by force nah; don't do things until you are actually ready - why bite off a thousand times more than what you can chew? And we want Nigerian filmmaking to be taken seriously? We are jokers that have no shame at all - look at a relatively non-filmmaking fellow-African-country like Mauritania diving head first with a 'quality' film straight to an 'Oscar' nomination submission. Oh well, we're professionals at making the same excuses we've hear a million times over. Bring on the excuses!
Here is the Q&A session which was generally interesting (it's long at just over an hour) Yes the 450 seat venue was packed - most people left right after the screening. Invasion 1897 - Q&A
You are so right october 1st was quite a treat Its a shame I didn't finish it, hey I follow all your threads and perhaps you are the best person ask this, I'm studying to become a DOP for movies which of these books do you suggest I pick(ken dancyger's technique of film making or william goldman's adventures) I heard there are both good but I really don't want to get confused so which do I pick between the two I'm with thenairama on this, I will also like to know where I can watch this 1897 everyone's been talking about it
I drafted a bomb threat and put her return address on the letter. Was about to send it when she called and started forming "meaning we are no longer bf and gf doesn't mean I don't care about you, how are you doing?" which made me feel guilty so, i cancelled her address and sent it to a church on my street as anonymous just for fun
severee: Nah! Don't worry I will be really quick with this, the delay with x men was writers block and I was very busy during that period besides this transcendence is a very boring movie with no highlights so I shd be done really soon
Ashewo! Because say na gal u come dey form gentle man ode
Sermwell: My girlfriend always wants me to be around her during her monthly menstrual period due to the pains she goes through. I only find myself saying 'sorry' to her when she is in pains. Pls, is there anything more I can do?
samally: Op, if I may ask you, have you done anything to correct any of this above mentioned flaws.. Or you just see only the flaws and no solution.. If that then let me Park before I continue..
obviously you didn't read the opening post if you did you would have understood what the op was pointing at and also
severee:Is it security issues? how about investing in the Nigerian police force? All they need is to be professionals starting from their weapons patrol officers shouldn’t walk around with assault rifles that is for tactical assault teams but there are stun guns and rubber bullet guns which can be holstered + surveillance gadgets like cameras etc, police officers should be trained often on work ethics that has preserves human rights and at the same time maintain order so where are the Nigerian inventors to create these weapons they've been complaining about not getting recognition isn't this an opportunity to make money and even create that recognition that they are being deprived of ,secondly police officers have to feel good about being police officers they should like their jobs and be scared to lose it, their workforce should be trimmed down to a useful and manageable quantity so resources can go round and there should special treatment that comes with being police officers like discount on shopping and special perks that make them like their jobs and at the same time there should be a platform for people to reach out and report rogue officers, when them begin sack them 1 by 1 them go behave, but where are the venture capitalist that can manage police salaries and pensions to prevent embezzlement and teach the police officers how to invest their money what of the personnel management that can structure and organize the NPF it is not so much black and white I bet there are grey areas in which you can make your contributions Is it unemployment? How about our schooling system stop training workers and start training entrepreneurs,we can make FG demand contract staffing for everyone(with full benefits)and teach workers the power of investing and running your own business being one of its options(that's if stock options are too expensive) if they like u they renew your contract this way work will go round and nigerian man will learn to depend on his hands rather than waiting for someone to employ him Is it electricity? Two problems in this sector power generation and power distribution , about generation, we have solar sources we have coal, natural gas or even nuclear energy the point is why aren’t we working on developing other sources of power generation where are the research teams? Do they know the opportunity that awaits them here? even though its to go retail and provide accessible and affordable solar powered inverter generators that can provide 24/7 electricity for everybody that will work both for the people and the pocket of the inventors you don’t need to wait for gov’t to give you the go ahead. as for distribution knowing the total population of Nigerians is a start saying "we are about 170 million" is wrong we should know specifically how many we are who are the rich who are the average who are the poor who dey work for bank etc we need to know all these information about everyone so where are the statistician or programmers that can design database softwares that can make population census easier ,that can distribute not just electricity but other amenities easily to people in an organized manner and make money for you the inventor at the same time Is it healthcare? Exercise often eat healthy and visit the doctor for check ups at least once a year keep a clean environment and maintain good hygiene this is primary school health education but Nigerians do non of these even though you know the way hospitals are in the country, take a look at the sector sef see the case of NMA USE YOUR INITIAVE why aren’t they selling health insurance to people? If they even make it as low as 500naira them go see the returns, Why didn’t they ask FG to force the hand of multi national companies in the country to finance procurement of standard equipment and necessary R& , where are the awareness and fund raising campaigns to generate funds for their requests even the teaching colleges what are they using the tuition fees for? I attended school in Nigeria and I know how much they paid and how many people kill themselves to study medicine and surgery how about expanding their specialities even if it means all 18000 of them contributing 1000naira each month and investing the proceeds in stocks and assets to raise money or even solely controlling the flow of pharmaceuticals and dermatological products in the market there were lot of ways to develop the health sector which they would incredibly benefit from but instead they went to FG to give ultimatums? and rallied round tv cameras screaming solidarity for ever and embarrassing themselves. Is it corruption that one no hard it starts with you the keywords are intergrity, accountability and discipline teach your children these virtues don’t let them cheat on their UTMEs anymore instead push them to read all work and no play makes jack prepared for a tough world , teach your friends religious leaders teach your congregation let the message go round in such a way that it becomes subliminal in the minds of nigerians, also every working and business sector should have an in house organization the promote disclipline and support for members of these sectors whether its the union of barbers or union of bankers/scientists even politicians yes they should register with the civil servants and if there are any news or complaints of unprofessionalism or corruption from any member of that union, it will be the obligation of the union to not only support law enforcement on such a person they should also be sanctioned by their union just like tb joshua and the collapsed building CAN should support law enforcement agencies in investigations and charges and also sanction the pastor for endagering the lives of citizens you won't be able to bribe any judge na because the judge belongs to a union watching his actions and sharing the same vision for the country. If this is effected properly corruption in this country will at least slice in half Is it terrorism? See whether America is sponsoring boko haram or APC or PDP, your offensive and your defensive determines your victory in battle for offensive, why don’t you enlist in the NA to fight insurgency? Them say bh get sponsor ehn make we sef sponsor/support our soldiers, imagine they were complaining about poor living standards and nigerian just throwe face like say e no concern them if the money we set aside for tithes was actually donated to the NA I’m sure it would have gone far in the maintenance of the soldiers why aren't we running a military procurement/contractor/consultant company? I believe Nigeria has reached the level where we can develop our own weapons its not government that invents weapons its not the military either its people like you and me that invent these things then your defencive how are we protecting our streets our homes our working places why can’t we consult with counter terrorist officers on precautionary steps to take what campaign is our religious community organizing to discourage violence and terrorism or to save misguided dudes from becoming potential boko haram insurgents afterall its manpower that is the strength of BH and most of them are forcefully recruited or brainwashed we sef make we brainwash people into peace loving and law abiding citizens So what would you prefer? To achieve these things with our own blood sweat and tears or to keep criticizing gov't from an arm chair and hoping that some day God will touch their hearts and make them remember us?
jesu which 1 be newspaper article wey you upload?I no fit even read am finish Well sha for me naija problem be say them hate am when people dey progress just think am If old man get money na ritualist or e dey loot money if na small boy na yahoo if na girl na ashi if na sports e na yobo if na entertainer e no get talent My broda I dey tell you for naija rich man na enemy
