Nigercity:
New hotels coming up everywhere

Owerri might not have high concentration of 4 to 7 storey buildings like ABA and onistha
But trust me
The city is doing well in terms of 7 to 8 story high-rise buildings

Plus roads are wide
Entering from port Harcourt then
Driving around owerri fit cure depression 😜😂 grin

Especially when you are playing egwu Owerri on your way to eat ofe owerri

Driving around Owerri is like having a spar session

Politics / Re: ThìsGlobe.com Niger Delta Oil Was used To Develop Igbo area over $150 billion by Broveens42(m): 2:34pm On Mar 08
aariwa:
those mighty buildings you see across igboland from Onitsha, awka, nnewi, owerri, orlu, aba , Enugu etc are actually built by individuals and not governments. I know you will find it difficult to believe because outside Abuja, Lagos and PH there is no where in Nigeria and black Africa you will find such massive number of 6-7 storeys buildings built by individuals in such massive scale. My friend from taraba arrived Onitsha in 2004 and when he saw those buildings he echoed same sentiments as you and asked why are igbos shouting marginalization when government did all these. I told him those houses belonged to individuals not government that the only visible federal government presence in SE was the old post office, police station, army barracks and federal highways like Enugu - Onitsha highway etc which has been dilapidated since Shagari built it in 1981 . The man thought I was lying to him, left and never communicated again since then because he believed it was impossible for individuals and not government to build such massive buildings

I could understand his frustration. same way I host visitors who are first timers around concord avenue owerri, and the next thing they ask is if we are driving towards government house... lol I'll just laugh in my mind like the standards are actually high in SE

Politics / Re: 24 States Can’t Pay Salaries Without FG Allocation by Broveens42(m): 11:24am On Mar 07
aniblue:
No Niger delta state should be on that list but the same FG has decided to make the oil a national assets while the solid minerals in other zones are meant for individuals.

Most of the oil companies in Niger delta pays tax to Lagos while production is ongoing in the Niger delta, leaving the place toxic with oil spills l, environmental damages , toxic gases release to the environment, roof damages, soil condemn etc

Suddenly everyone is crying about restructuring. Lol

What type of restructuring are you even talking about. The one a governor owns all the oil wells in his state, uses the proceeds to acquire properties and fund political allieds

Or a restructuring where there are real constitutional consequences for lack of responsibility... consequences like if you don't implement x, y z percentage budget on x, y, z sector, you serve a life jail term.
What's happening to LGA funds and why does the Sham of your constitution protect governors from misuse of LGA funds.

If you don't end the Royal Niger company, it will end you ~ MNK
Politics / Re: Gov Soludo Transformation Of Fegge Onitsha (photos) by Broveens42(m): 6:50am On Mar 07
Amah70:

They are talking about Fegge Onitsha, not about Awka the capital of Anambra state.
You enumerate the streets of Owerri, the only modern city in Imo state. Owerri which consumes the money that should have gone into maintenance of the infrastructures in Orlu and Okigwe areas of Imo state.

If you Oweri people get conscience, you people should have become worried over why only Owerri grows in Imo state after Owerri literally seized all federal government development institutions for Imo state that induce human and economic development wherever located, and located them in Owerri before 1999, in the name of "Owerri is state capital naa.."

Don't jump into arguements before reading properly. I responded to the argument about Awka having or not having enough dualised roads. And it has been proven that the capital city doesn't come close to Owerri in dualised roads.
Even the fegge you are talking about is not better than amainyi road, ihitte uboma LGA of Imo state. Many inner roads in other LGA'S of imo beat it hands down in quality.

I can show you real pictures on the ground if you probe further
