Please the Guru In the house should pls help look into my proposed transcript.
NB : Have being Denied visa twice in January this year, and I want to give it a try again for the 3rd time, same Sch.i posted my 2 delayed visa here already.
Next interview is Monday 24th June, 2019.
This is my proposed transcript.
VO Good morning
Me Morning
VO pass your I-20 and oda Doc
Me I obliged.
VO where are you going to
Me I'm going to MUM at Fairfield, Iowa for my Graduate Deqree in comp SC with Specialization in Software Development and Data science.
VO How do you hear about this sch
Me I first hard of mum from a lectural friend of mine cos he did his PhD program from there and he also told me about how excellent their academic standard is, Because I was looking for a school that offers MSc in comp SC with specialization in Data science n Softwaredevelopment, these prompted my to do an intensive research using professional academic websites like America comp scientist association, MIT reviews, coded project, Github and Google. I filter my reviews and MUM came up.
How many schools did you applied to
Me 4 inclusive of MuM
VO Name them
Me: Lynn university, central Missouri university, California state university long Beach.
VO why did you choose MUM
Me I chooosed mum Basically cos of 3 Reason, 1,cos the MSc comp SC program is Research Based and it has a special track in Data science n software Development. 2,cos it has a faculty ratio of 15:1 which is good for learning, 3 cos of the curricular practical training (CPT) the program has which will enable me to integrate the knowledge I must have acquired.
VO Any standardize test.
Me Due to my working experience programming skill, and technical interview via Skype, the school said there is no need for any standardized test, and it's stated in my Admission letter, although I wrote ielts and I score 6.5
VO are you married
Me no
VO have you traveled abroad b4
Me no, I don't have a reason to other than my sch
VO where do you work
Me I work as a contract staff IT Specialist with Bleep company
VO what are your duties
Me I list them
VO why Major in this field
Me I studied comp SC in my undergraduate Deqree and I developed a penchant in programing while I was in sch this made me enroll for a 1year intensive program on Java, I want to specialize in SD n Data science cos it will give me an edge to advance my skill set and work with latest tools in my field with a practical knowledge as Data science is the fastest growing specialization in comp SC as there is tremendous need for a Data scientist in eventually all sector.
VO what will this Deqree do for you.
Me in other to survive in this competitive field of ours, Relevant skills n Technical expectize is needed, Having a Masters Deqree will give me an added advantage by enabling me to work with the latest tools, Technologies and diverse pple all over the world, cos the US is a Hub when it comes to IT.
This Deqree will enable me secure a better place in my current place of work and possibly with a higher pay
Due to the exposure and skills I will obtain this Deqree will enable me to compete in Multinational companies like Ericson, MTN, Google inters witch n Mainone.
VO what's your plan After Graduate
Me upon Graduation I intend to return to Nigeria and use the knowledge and skill set I must have gotten to turn around the financial status of my current place of work while I seek gainfull employment in Multinational companies n policy making sectors like Ericson n Ispon.
Can I see your statement of your sponsor
Me yes, gave it to him
VO congrats you can pick your passport in this circle location after 3 Days.
Thank you sir
Pls house help review this transcript, I don't have any financial award n the amount on my i-20 is $25k
Please take out that response to did you write any standardised test..
Too shallow.

Why this school?
Go and carry out research and avoid all those generic response.
Count on grace and favour to be on your side cus funding could be an issue.

All the best

1. Funds I have on my i-20 was a total of 70k dols. What I needed was 46k dols.

2. I'm going for a PhD not second masters.

3. Deficit is 24k dols. Although my assistantship is to be renewed every semester
Crazy mehn..

It is not advised to go to the embassy without full funding for PhD to cover almost everything or everything.

Because the cost is always huge.

Your main issue is the fund.

These VOs can be very funny tho.

I see where people say the VO ' nodded in affirmation'
Or was 'looking impressed' or say 'okay'

From my deduction , that doesn't mean they are impressed.

But the number of denials within yesterday and today is not good.
@fairheart you need to go and dream a new dream.
Your previous dream has expired.

Good Afternoon Kings and Queens

My interview is next week and i would desire you help critique my transcript

Vo: Y r u going to d US?
Me: To pursue my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

V.o: How did u know abt dis school?
Me: I attended an Education Fair organized by Education USA, Where I met with representatives from the school, then I did some research about the school using usnews.com, Princeton review and study.com

V.o: What research did you do
Me: I researched the location, tuition, and scholarship opportunities, the opportunity for co-op and internship programs, International enrolment rate and international programs, accreditation of my program

V.o: Tell me abt ur program
Me: My course duration is 55months, the required credit hour to graduate is 125, also a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 18 credit hours is required each semester. Then i would mention my courses

V.o: What's ur highest degree?
Me: Ordinary National Degree

V.o: Year of grad?
Me: 2018

V.o: Wat av u been doing after ur OND
Me: I went for an internship job at Highland Energy Services Limited

V.o: What role were you performing
Me: I was evaluating electric systems, products and components.

V.o: How many applications?
Me: 3. UCO, Northeastern University, University of Cincinnati

V.o: Tell me what this program would do for you:
Me: It would afford me a deeper understanding, knowledge, and insight into designing, developing new technological skills and programs needed for quantum computing, embedded systems designs, multimedia processing, and photonics

V.o: Why this course:
Me: This course would expose me to the theoretical and experimental skills needed in the feeds of Digital Electronics, Control systems, power engineering, mechatronics, and digital signal processing

V.o who is your sponsor
Me: I have a global diversity scholarship of $5000 then my uncle would cover the rest

V.o: what would you do after your program
Me: everybody knows the major challenge in Nigeria is power and energy, i would be coming back to my country to work with the Ministry of Power, works and housing to bring in new renewable energy options my country can delve into to stop our over-dependence on hydroelectric power which during dry season, causes epileptic power supply.

V.o: Why this school
Me:
1.Due to the global diversity scholarship I was offered and the affordable tuition for my sponsor,
2. Due to the international program the school offers, called CRISP - community responding to international students program where an international student is paired with an American family and mandated to meet a minimum of once in a month.
3.i choose the school. because of a new center started by the college of mathematics and science called "CURE-STEM. Centre for undergraduate research education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics where a STEM undergraduate is opportune to carry out research in their respective programs with the vision of creating new technologies that can change the world
4.Opportunity for Co-op programs and Internship: after my second year, I would be going for an internship program which would expose me to the practical aspect of my program, etc
In why this school?
Do you really think the VO will sit and let you number all those?
Make it exciting and engaging. Make a flowing sentence.

Your scholarship is not big with all the global tag it has.
What's your total deficit?

Hello guys this is my second time I was denied a u.s visa and this is is the transcript of my last interview

Me: good morning
Vo: good morning, pls pass me your passport .
Vo: where are you going to?
Me: am going to Saint cloud University Minnesota.
Vo: why st cloud University?
Me: well after my first degree on biotechnology I went on a research on school of technology in the United states and I came across st cloud University.  From my research I discovered that st cloud University is the best University in the whole of Minnesota I terms of technology for instance I discovered they have the latest laboratory tools and equipments such as the latest dna sequencing machine , hand pipette, the autoclave ,agitators to mention but a few and exposure to this practical environment will help me Hone and develop my practical skills because quality control and safety technology is entirely a practical course on its own. I would also be able to put to work some of the concept I was taught during my first degree as some of the courses offered are related to courses I encountered during my first degree there by making me a complete and a confident graduate in my field of specialization.
Vo: okay
Vo: who is your sponsor?
Me; my parents and I also have their statements here with me .
Vo: what do they do?
Me: my mom is a medical doctor at lasth and operates her private clinic at lagos also. My dad is a business man.
Vo: what does he do?
Me: he deals in automobile tyres
Vo: okay
Vo: what have you been doing since you graduated?
Me: well I have been working in my mom's clinic under the supervision of the chief laboratory scientist.
Vo: long pause!! Sorry you are not qualified for a us visa..then she hands the blue paper to me.
Couldn't identify the reasons why I was denied the visa in the first place...she didn't take a look at my statements also.

Additional information
Your year of graduation : 2017
Amount on I-20= 12,750
Living expenses=1450
Amount on SOA= 10mil + 8 mil= 18mil
Places you've traveled= dubia
Intended course of study= medical technology quality.
Previous qualifications = B.sc biotechnology
Standard examinations= gre, toefl and did evaluation of my results
Gre = 246
Toefl =92
Evaluation = 3.0
Your delivery in why this school was not impressive.

You apparently didn't carry out detailed research on how the school and course will help your career back here.

Hello beautiful people! Please treat as urgent.

My employer which is also some kind of family company(majorly owned by my uncle, my dad is a minor shareholder) is sponsoring my masters program. Sponsor on the i20 is family funds(I submitted the companies SOA which covers more than 200% of the required amount; and my Dad’s SOA which covers about 25% of the required amount as he will be supporting me)I have the statement of account of the company and my Dad’s. Do I need additional documents? If so, what other documents do I need?
Statement of account from company AKA business account has so far been rejected. I can tell you categorically that Business account is a very complicated one. Anyone that has a Limited Company can attest to that.

A study leave with pay is more ideal than a business account any day any time.

I don't know if because it was mentioned that fully funded are getting a smooth interview, they became complacent or whatever.

You have zero deficits doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to answer questions.

Infact, a friend going to Stanford with Fellowship was drilled for 3 minutes and he had to answer all the questions.

Funding or no funding , one must be very apt and spontaneous in response.

I think the bolded above is where the problem is, you are a doctor working and still need sponsorship from your uncle, I think you would have been in a better position if you were sponsoring yourself or you had a scholarship. I would advise folks that have family that want to sponsor them to make the family member deposit the funds in your account at the start of your admission process, that way you provide your own SOA as proof of funds, especially for folks that are working. Except the idea of using a family members SOA is a guise to escape out of the shit hole

Good morning pass your I-20 and passport.

Q. How many other schools did you apply to?

Three

Q. Name them.

UCR, USF, LSU.
Q. How did you hear about the schools?

Last year at the annual conference of the Nigerian chapter of the American Chemical society, I networked with a few colleagues who recommended the schools I applied to.

Q. How many gave you admits?
I was rejected two and one waitlist for one.

Q. What kind of work will you be doing?

I will be working as a graduate assistant.

Q. Did you write the GRE?

Yes.

Q. What was your score?
301.

Q. What will you be doing when you return?
I will be returning to conduct research in organic medicinal chemistry. Will be using knowledge of chemistry for organic synthesis of new drugs that can be of medicinal use.

Q. Who is paying for the remaining 12k?

My Uncle.

Q. What does he do?

He imports and distributes building materials.

Can you pass his statement?

Q. Why is this statement not in your sponsor's name?
(froze, in my mind I think I said)
A.. It is a corporate business account owned by my sponsor.....( attempts to flip through the SOA)

Q. What is the name of your sponsor.
Told her.

Game over.
Pink.

Deficit of 12k after Tuition waiver and Assistantship. Sponsor's SOA was his business account.
So far all I know have been rejected with business account.
So everyone should try to avoid it.

You might not have the chnace to explain you have a document to prove he has access to the money.

Business account is very complicated.

The process is not fair, luck is a huge factor (Even though most people will not agree to this).
We all know that 3 mins is not sufficient to make a perfect analysis.

Some VO just want to hear what they need to hear before they are convinced.

But it is mostly not fair.

Why we still have to put the God factor.

my visa was denied today at 6.30Am in Lagos.
I was interviewed by the old white man at window 1.
me: Good morning
VO: pass me your passport and i20.
passed
VO: when did you graduate high school?
Me: 2017.
VO: Are you in any school here?
Me: No
VO: Why? What have you been doing since
Me: I applied to schools here after I graduated in 2017 but I didn't get in and then I started SAT and Toefl tutorials in 2019.
VO: why didn't you get in
Me: um (I said something like) universities in Nigeria have a set quota of people that they admit per year and unfortunately I didn't get in. ( it was along the line of this)
VO: so you took SAT the whole year
Me: Trying to explain the duration for which I attended SAT and Toefl lessons when he cut me off and said " your visa has been denied"
I was really upset, the whole thing happened really really fast.
I'm scared of getting rejected again ☺ and dates are far gone.
I picked McNeese state university.
Had a waiver and scholarship of $11902 Deficit of $15k
SAT 1330 Toefl 109
The VO just attacked you man .
It takes a lot of preparation to escape this kind of attack.

What I noticed during the interview, he emphasised on the huge scholarship as if he was impressed, but I feel he was disappointed with the fact that I said I haven't been assigned my duties, he said again that but you have a campus employment, that was when I mentioned that it is a graduate teaching assistantship position.

Also, how I got my scholarship, I should have mentioned my GRE scores, also although he didn't ask what I would do after my course, when he asked why this course, at the end, I should have mentioned a specific position, I had an answer for that. Please help me figure out what went wrong and how I can improve my responses, I want to reapply immediately.

My sweetheart and princess..
Never feel bad . I am sorry about this.

Please here's my take..

In why this course?

You started very well . . but how about mentioning the likely positions you will function in and likely organizations you will work. I did say anything without such addition is not a personalized response.

You studied Statistics and are going for Biostatistics..
The VO wanted to be sure you know your onions and I think you had a chance to prove it in what you'll be doing as a Graduate Assistant. There are generic responses that you should say ... Marking scripts, going to the lab to collect samples, etc.

You have a perfect understanding of what went wrong Angel.
