PRESS STATEMENT

PROTECTING THE INTEGRITY OF THE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC)

Abuja, Nigeria

3 June 2026

My attention has been drawn to concerns being expressed by party members, supporters, and members of the public regarding the conduct of the recent primary election for the Enugu East Senatorial District under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

As a duly screened and cleared aspirant who participated in the process, I consider it necessary to address the public and clarify my position.

First, I wish to state unequivocally that my faith in the vision and ideals of the Nigeria Democratic Congress remains unshaken.

NDC was established because millions of Nigerians desired a departure from the politics of impunity, imposition, lack of transparency, and the culture of "winner takes all" that has characterised much of our political history. The party represents an aspiration for a new political culture founded on accountability, competence, fairness, integrity, and genuine internal democracy.

It is precisely because I believe in those ideals that I have raised concerns regarding the conduct of the Enugu East Senatorial Primary.

My concerns are not about personalities. They are not driven by bitterness or personal ambition. They are about the integrity of the process through which candidates emerge to represent our party and, ultimately, the Nigerian people.

Prior to the primary election, the party officially communicated designated venues across the six local government areas that constitute Enugu East Senatorial District. Aspirants, party members, and supporters relied on these official directives and assembled accordingly.

However, serious questions have arisen regarding whether the primary election was conducted in accordance with the party's published guidelines and whether all aspirants were afforded equal opportunity to participate in a transparent and credible process.

Evidence presently available, including official party communications, photographs, video recordings, and witness accounts, raises concerns that voting activities may have taken place at locations other than the officially designated venues and in circumstances that require careful scrutiny by the party.

Consequently, I have formally petitioned the Party's Appeal Committee and submitted relevant evidence for consideration.

The evidence submitted includes official party communications, photographs, video recordings, and witness accounts relating to the conduct of the primary election. I am confident that these materials will assist the Committee in arriving at a fair, objective, and informed determination of the issues raised.

I respectfully call on the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress to ensure that every allegation relating to the conduct of the primary election is thoroughly, impartially, and transparently investigated.

Where any individual, regardless of status, influence, or position within the party, is found to have acted contrary to the party's constitution, guidelines, or democratic principles, appropriate sanctions should be applied in accordance with the rules of the party.

No person should be rewarded for conduct that undermines internal democracy, and no aspirant should be disadvantaged for complying with the party's directives.

The credibility of NDC will not be measured by the absence of disputes. It will be measured by its willingness to confront difficult issues honestly and uphold justice even when doing so is inconvenient.

At this critical moment, I urge all party members and supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to the democratic process while the party concludes its review.

This matter is bigger than any individual aspirant. It is about preserving the integrity of a movement that many Nigerians have come to believe in.

The Nigerian people are watching. Party members are watching. History is watching.

The decisions taken in the coming days will send a powerful message about the kind of political culture NDC seeks to build and whether its commitment to transparency, accountability, and internal democracy extends beyond campaign rhetoric into practical reality.

I remain confident that truth, fairness, and justice will prevail.

Thank you.

Subject : Safeguarding the Integrity of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State

Official Press Statement from the ADC Anambra State Executive Committee

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, and the good people of Anambra State. We have observed with grave concern the recent attempts by certain individuals to destabilize the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in our state. To protect our party’s integrity and the interests of our members, we wish to clarify the following:
1. Condemnation of Illegal Parallel Structures
The current State Executive Committee, under the leadership of the duly recognized State Chairman, remains fully in charge of all ADC affairs in Anambra. We are aware of the illegal constitution of a group referred to as "MRMR." Let it be clear: this group is not a recognized organ of our party. We strongly warn those attempting to create parallel structures to desist immediately, as these actions are a direct violation of the ADC Constitution.
2. Unauthorized Hijacking by External Actors
It has come to our attention that individuals from other political parties are attempting to hijack the ADC structure in Anambra State without formally resigning from their former parties. ADC is a party of discipline and due process; we will not allow "political tourists" to bypass our regulations or compromise our mission for personal gain.
3. Financial Irregularities and Accountability
We have received reports of individuals using private bank accounts to collect funds meant for party activities.
* Warning: ADC Anambra State maintains an active official bank account.

* No member or entity is authorized to collect money into private accounts for party use. Such actions are fraudulent and will be treated as such.
4. Custody of Party Property and Materials
The State Chairman and his executive team are the sole custodians of all party properties, assets, and materials in Anambra.
* Membership Cards & Registers: No individual is permitted to bypass the state leadership to collect membership cards or registers from the National Headquarters in Abuja.
* Any procurement or distribution of party materials without the State Chairman’s express approval is null, void, and a breach of party protocol.

A Call to Action for True Reformers
Despite these internal distractions, our doors remain wide open to those who genuinely desire good governance. The ADC Membership Registration is currently active and accessible online. We encourage every Nigerian who dreams of a better country to visit our official platform and join the movement.
> "The ADC Constitution is clear regarding the operations of the party at the state level. We will not stand by while the foundation we have built is undermined by those who do not respect our laws."
>
We urge our members and the general public to remain steadfast and ignore any directives not originating from the recognized State Executive Committee.

Signed,
Comrade Patrick Obianyo
ADC Anambra state chairman

Will it be an abomination to appoint commissioners from other regions judging from the unique social composition of Lagos afterall we have had military administrators from they region and they performed extremely well. Some like Nudubusi Kanu has a very popular park named after them. We all remember the excellent administration of Burba Marwa. We various Landmark monuments named after him. We really need to embrace tendencies that promote peace and ensure total development like we find in other countries like United Kingdom and United states, Canada..

If a girl turn you down because you live in such apartment but has nothing to offer to make it better, please show her the door and go for a thanksgiving afterwards.

Just listen to yourself. In a country where you have well equipped multiple enforcement agencies who could arrest those swallowing the subsidy money.

renderme:
This IMO state guy is just being partisan. Everyone knows BUA will also finish his refinery next year.

What are the other options this country has? Government can’t run any business. All their refineries keep swallowing money & is useless.

Subsidy is a pit that also swallows money wt no benefit for expansion. Subsidy is gone. The goal is increasing states revenue generation and providing a living minimum wage.

When you say physically fit, what do you mean?

He is not representing Nigeria at the Olympics? His experience is more vital than his physical state.

He has the whole resources to make moves that deemed fit, so I don’t see where his physical state comes to play.

When is he going to attend a world press conference where journalist can ask questions freely on issuing concerning Nigerians. Until this happens, his mental and physical state will remain in doubt.

The order was in the morning. They did not vacate until midnight. That is more than 8 solid hours. Tinubu does not have the legitimate mandate of Nigerians until the court says otherwise. For now, just relax and keep enjoying the gra- gra.......
