How about going to work in just boxer shorts and see how you'll get on.every society has its culture/tradition and societal norms.I think its up to everyone to try to learn what's accepted in different societies, it's the way its always been.im sure you know that in western climes you can't just decide to preach in public transport, when you'll probably be accepted in Africa.

Unfortunately, the Church of England has to pretty much tow the political/secular line in England due to its set up.The Prime minister selects the Canterbury Archbishop afterall..It's not a strong church any more that sticks with historical Christian teachings, one only needs to check out how the COE got started to understand why it keeps changing established norms e.g. acceptance of contraception, actively gay priests, divorce and now female bishops etc.This might lead to more splits.
