Reading The Bible Will Change Your Life Thu, 27 Feb 2020 ‘The entrance of Your words gives light.’ Psalm 119:130 NKJV In December 2005, Brian Hardin says God told him to podcast the Bible. Hardin writes: ‘On New Year’s Eve when I read my first podcast… I said, “I’m Brian… I have no broadcast experience. I really don’t know what I’m doing, but I plan to read through the Bible this year. If you get this, here’s my email address.” I expected about five people to sign up. On New Year’s Day 2006, I had 257 responses, and by June the daily audio Bible had been downloaded 200,000 times. Now, following our sixth anniversary, it’s been downloaded more than 51 million times and is still one of the top podcasts on iTunes. With more than 1.5 million downloads monthly, the daily audio Bible is one of the most listened to podcasts in the world. We’ve become a vast online family that prays and hears the Bible together. When somebody calls or goes into the online prayer line with a request, thousands of people pray for that person… We receive an endless stream of emails from disenfranchised believers who have found the place appealing… Separated couples who had nothing left to do but sign divorce papers… started listening to the Bible and found their marriages restored. I can tell you many stories of people who were hopeless—I mean suicidally hopeless—who found comfort in God’s Word and were restored. The Bible has a voice, and if given a chance to speak—in context—it will create amazing things in your heart. The Bible can transform even the most tangled life. I know. It radically changed mine.’ Bottom line: reading the Bible will change your life. |

God’s Recovery Plan For You Wed, 26 Feb 2020 ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’ 1 Samuel 30:8 NKJV God’s Word promises that whatever you are addicted to today, you can be set free from. And there’s more! You can get back what you’ve lost, or something even better. How? By doing what David did when the Amalekite armies destroyed his home and took his family captive: (1) He turned to God for strength to deal with his problem. ‘David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.’ (1 Samuel 30:6 NKJV) Face it; if you could have solved the problem by yourself, you’d already have done it, right? Don’t feel bad about that, feel good. Acknowledging that you are powerless is the first step to victory. ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV) Now, acknowledging that you’re powerless isn’t the same thing as giving in to hopelessness. It means acknowledging that you can’t, God can, and that He will when you surrender the problem to Him. (2) God gave David a plan to deal with his problem. ‘Pursue, for you will surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’ Armed with God’s strength and His plan, David went after the enemy and kept attacking until he recovered everything that had been stolen from him. And God wants to do that for you too. He promised, ‘I will restore to you the years that the …locust has eaten.’ (Joel 2:25 NKJV) When you turn to God, He can give you more joy and success in the years ahead than in all the years behind you. That’s His recovery plan for you! |

AS RECEIVED :: The new NCP coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days then how can one know if he/ she is infected ? Latest information is that the incubation period may be upto 28 days before the symptoms of COVID 19 are evident. By the time a person has fever and/or cough and goes to the hospital, the lungs are usually 50 % Fibrosis and it's too late ! Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning ; Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness , etc , it proves there is no fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicating no infection. In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air! SERIOUS EXCELLENT ADVICE by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases. Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat is moist, never DRY. Take a few sips of water every 15 mins at least. WHY ? Even if the virus does enter into your mouth...drinking water or other liquids will WASH them down through your oesophagus and into the stomach. Once there , your stomach ACID’s will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly...the virus can enter your windpipes and into the LUNGS. That's very dangerous. Pls send and share with family, friends and everyone about this ! Take care everyone & may the world recovers from corona virus soon. May all be well & happy. - |

Depend Completely On God Tue, 25 Feb 2020 ‘Our competence comes from God. He has made us competent.’ 2 Corinthians 3:5–6 NIV Jesus told His disciples, ‘Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’ (Matthew 26:41 NKJV) What did He mean by that? He meant that without the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, which He’d just told them they’d soon receive, they weren’t equal to the challenges they were about to face. It wasn’t a matter of His doubting their devotion and willingness to serve Him; He just knew they couldn’t do it by themselves. And you can’t either. So the sooner you stop trying, the better off you’ll be! God isn’t looking for educated, sophisticated, well-meaning flesh, or any other kind of ‘flesh’, for that matter. He will only bless you when you acknowledge your total dependence on Him. That means praying and leaning on Him before you start, and continuing to pray and lean on Him until you reach the finish line. It also means that if God doesn’t send you and you insist on going, or if He tells you to do something and you try to accomplish it in your own strength, you’ll surely fail. And what’s more, He will allow you to keep failing until you reach the place where you can say like Paul: ‘Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent.’ It’s when we reach the end of our resources that God’s power kicks in. So the word for you today is: instead of leaning on your own strength and resources, depend wholly and solely on God. |
God Will Vindicate You Mon, 24 Feb 2020 ‘Vindication will come from Me.’ Isaiah 54:17 NLT Have you been falsely accused? So was Jesus. They called Him a glutton, a drunkard, and a friend of low-life sinners. They accused the apostle Paul of being a madman, a fool, and a babbler. Jesus called Satan the ‘father of lies.’ (John 8:44 NIV) When you’re committed to doing God’s will, Satan will attack you—and use people to do it. Don’t get discouraged and don’t despair. God will vindicate you. His Word says, ‘No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from Me.’ If you insist on retaliating, God will back off and leave you to it. But when you put the situation into His hands, the test can result in a testimony to His goodness and grace in your life. So instead of wasting time complaining, pray: ‘Let Your favour shine on Your servant. In Your unfailing love, rescue me. Don’t let me be disgraced… Lord… I call out to You for help. Let the wicked be disgraced… Silence their lying lips—those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly. How great is the goodness You have stored up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before the watching world. You hide them in the shelter of Your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in Your presence, far from accusing tongues.’ (Psalm 31:16–20 NLT) Simply pray, ‘Father, I put this situation into Your hands today. Vindicate me.’ |
Thank Lord Jesus for the grace. |
Are You Asking God For A Child? Sun, 23 Feb 2020 ‘For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition.’ 1 Samuel 1:27 NKJV Hannah wanted to be a mother so badly that ‘she… prayed to the Lord and wept.’ (1 Samuel 1:10 NKJV) In fact, she made a vow to God, pledging that if He gave her a son, she would ‘give him to the Lord all the days of his life.’ (1 Samuel 1:11 NKJV) And it happened. The Bible says, ‘It came to pass in the process of time that Hannah… bore a son.’ (1 Samuel 1:20 NKJV) The same thing happened to Ruth: ‘Boaz begot Obed by Ruth.’ (Matthew 1:5 NKJV) Ruth was a penniless widow when God introduced her to Boaz, the owner of the field where she was gleaning. She was a Gentile and he was a Jew, and by law they were forbidden to marry. But God removed the barrier that stood in their way, and from their union came a little boy called Obed. He was the grandfather of King David, and so the ancestor of Jesus. God said, ‘I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NKJV) And in case you’re not sure of the answer, here it is: ‘Lord…You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.’ (Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV) Today if you’re asking God for a child, stand on these Scriptures and believe Him: ‘Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass… Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.’ (Psalm 37:4–7 NKJV) |
How To Win Life’s Battles (6) Sat, 22 Feb 2020 ‘Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord.’ 2 Chronicles 20:21 NIV Sixth, thank God in advance. Imagine standing on a mountaintop looking across a valley towards a mountain on the other side. A big battle is about to take place down below. On one mountain, three enemy nations are poised and waiting to devastate Israel. The Israelites are on your mountain, and their leader Jehoshaphat tells them, ‘Here’s God’s battle plan. All of those who sing in the choir, I want you out front.’ So the army goes marching into battle with the choir on the front line singing praises to God. Did the plan work? Yes. The opposing armies got confused and ended up killing each other—and all God’s people had to do was divide up the plunder! Why did God do it this way? As a visual object lesson to teach us to praise Him in faith even before the victory takes place. When you pray, ‘Lord, I know I have problems, but I thank You in advance because there’s no situation You can’t take care of,’ three things happen: (1) Your atmosphere changes. You no longer feel afraid because you have the assurance of God’s presence. (2) Your attitude changes. You begin to say, ‘Lord, this may be too big for me, but it’s not too big for You.’ (3) Your approach changes. Instead of speaking words of doubt, you start speaking words of faith. And because your faith honours God, He honours your faith and the battle begins to turn in your favour. And here’s another important key to victory: don’t just praise God for a while and then quit; keep praising Him until your breakthrough comes |

How To Win Life’s Battles (5) Fri, 21 Feb 2020 ‘Stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.’ 2 Chronicles 20:17 NIV Fifth, stand firm. Notice what God told Jehoshaphat: ‘Stand firm.’ What does it mean to ‘stand firm’ when you’re in a crisis? It’s a mental attitude of quiet confidence that says, ‘I’m going to trust God. ’ Rick Warren writes: ‘This is something I’m slowly learning; it’s never God’s will for me to run from a difficult situation. If I do, the situation will only follow and catch up with me a little further down the line. It may not look the same, but it will be the same. Why? Because God wants to teach me that He is sufficient for any problem. If we don’t learn this today, we may learn it next week. If we don’t learn it next week, we may learn it next year. But eventually we’ll learn it—and the sooner the better. We can save ourselves problems by standing firm and waiting on God in quiet confidence.’ So what do we stand firm on? ‘Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in His prophets and you will be successful.’ (2 Chronicles 20:20 NIV) First, we need to stand firm on the character of God. God is faithful, and we can depend on Him. Second, we need to stand firm on the writings that He has given us through His prophets—in other words, the truth of the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word, and we need only rely in quiet confidence on His written promises. So the word for you today is: stand firm on the unchanging character of God and the unchanging promises of His Word. |

How To Win Life’s Battles (3) Wed, 19 Feb 2020 ‘Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord.’ 2 Chronicles 20:3 NKJV Third, take your problems to the Lord. In the midst of his crisis, Jehoshaphat ‘set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast.’ Prayer is often the last thing we think of. Why? Because we want to work our problems out on our own. A deacon approached the pastor one day and said, ‘Pastor, we’ve got a problem we can’t solve. We’ve tried everything and nothing works.’ The pastor said, ‘Well, I guess all we can do is pray about it.’ The deacon replied, ‘Pastor, has it really come to that?’ When you’re facing life’s battles, prayer should be your first resort, not your last! And sometimes when the problem doesn’t yield to prayer alone, God leads you to add a second element: fasting. Ever tried it? Fasting isn’t something mystical and mysterious; it’s about focus! It’s saying: ‘Lord, I can do without many things, but I can’t solve this problem without You. So instead of being preoccupied with TV, or food, or social media, I’m going to spend time seeking Your face.’ Cornelius, a Gentile, fasted and prayed for four days, asking God for direction. As a result, God sent Peter to his house to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles, and in the process changed the course of history (see Acts 10). In order to know whom to appoint to leadership positions, the New Testament church fasted, prayed, and asked God for guidance. And as a result, one of the most dynamic evangelistic teams of all time, Paul and Barnabas, was born (see Acts 13:2–3). When you get serious enough to fast and pray about your problem, God will show you the solution. |
How To Win Life’s Battles (4) Thu, 20 Feb 2020 ‘The battle is not yours, but God’s.’ 2 Chronicles 20:15 NIV Fourth, learn to relax in faith. Notice how God responded to Jehoshaphat’s prayer: ‘The battle is not yours, but God’s.’ Many of us wear ourselves out trying to fight God’s battles in our own strength. In the initial flush of becoming Christians, we’re eager to win the world to Jesus, and want to go out and single-handedly bring about His Kingdom. That’s because we don’t realise what’s involved. Then after we’ve worked hard under our own steam, reality sets in. We end up crawling back on our hands and knees, disappointed, because we think we’ve let God down. But He reassures us, ‘You didn’t let Me down, because you weren’t holding Me up.’ The truth is, we don’t hold God up—He holds us up! We don’t have Him in our hands, He has us in His hands! And He’s telling us to relax in faith and let Him do the work through us. Paul wrote, ‘As you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him.’ (Colossians 2:6 NIV) In other words, remember how you first became a believer—by simple faith in the finished work of Christ—and continue to live by simple faith. You didn’t become a Christian by striving for perfection and doing good works. Good works have nothing to do with it! Salvation is a free gift. God doesn’t need us to micromanage things; He has everything under control, and He wants us to relax and let Him live through us. Bottom line: victory in life is a gift from God! ‘Thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ.’ (2 Corinthians 2:14 GWT) |

How To Win Life’s Battles (2) Tue, 18 Feb 2020 ‘We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.’ 2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV Second, admit your own inadequacy. The only people God can’t help are those who don’t think they need His help. King Jehoshaphat said, ‘We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.’ Often our eyes are on everything and everyone—except God—the One who can solve our problems. Your circumstances are like a mattress: if you’re on top you can rest easy, but if you’re underneath you can suffocate. Keep your eyes on the Lord and you’ll win out over your circumstances. Remember, it’s ‘not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.’ (Zechariah 4:6 NIV) You can’t live the Christian life in your own strength because you have a power shortage. You need the power that comes from letting God’s Spirit live through you. Try to imagine a glove. On its own, it is limp and powerless. But once a hand fills that glove it becomes useful and effective. Jesus said, ‘You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.’ (Acts 1:8 NKJV) Jesus often spoke of the Holy Spirit as ‘the Helper’, so when you don’t know what to do, stand on His promise: ‘The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name… will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.’ (John 14:26 NKJV) If you fight in your own strength, you’ll lose. But when you draw on the power of God’s Spirit that’s within you, you’ll win. |
How To Win Life’s Battles (1) Mon, 17 Feb 2020 ‘We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us.’ 2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV With God’s help, King Jehoshaphat overcame not just one army, but three! And his victory teaches us how we can win life’s battles. First, identify the enemy. Many of us have no clue who the real enemy is. We think it’s the person who is interested in taking our job, our spouse, or our money. But many times the enemy is our own attitude! It’s not so much what’s happening that gets us down, it’s our response to the situation. Before you can win on a personal level, you must identify the enemy. Note how Jehoshaphat reacted when he heard ‘a vast army’ was coming against him. He was ‘alarmed’. (2 Chronicles 20:2–3 NIV) It’s a fairly typical human response. We see a big problem, panic, and become fearful about what’s going to happen to us. And in truth, fear isn’t all bad unless we deal with it in the wrong way. We can use it to motivate us to conquer the problem and drive us closer to God. It’s when we get discouraged, give up, get angry, and start asking, ‘Why me, Lord?’ that fear defeats us. If you’re in a situation that’s filling you with fear and anxiety today, remember—God doesn’t respond to need; He responds to faith. So stake your faith on His unshakeable Word and stand on His promise: ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV) Unshakeable trust in God’s Word is what brings His help. |

‘Rush Hour’ Sun, 16 Feb 2020 ‘The Lord will bless His people with peace.’ Psalm 29:11 NKJV Why is evening drive time called ‘rush hour’, when nothing moves? The real rush hour occurs when we arrive home. Early evening is a time when everyone is hungry and tempers are short. Two working parents usually come home irritable and tired, but their children are unsympathetic and need immediate attention. It’s a setup for conflict. There are some things you can do to help defuse this rush hour time bomb. First, call your children before you leave work in the afternoon. This can give you a head start in dealing with any troubles that might be brewing at home. Second, make a conscious effort during the commute home to disengage from the responsibilities of the job and the cares of the day. Third, concerning the dinner meal, it’s wise to do as much as possible in the morning or the night before. Slow-cooker type dinners that have simmered all day, or those that can go straight from the refrigerator to the oven, will relieve pressure at a time when stress is the greatest. The quicker everyone can eat and raise their blood sugar, the better. Then spend some time with the kids before homework and bath time begins. You might take the dog out on a neighbourhood walk or play football in the garden. Finally, get the kids in bed and reserve a few moments of tranquillity for yourselves. There’s no easy way to get through rush hour five nights a week, but with a little planning, it can be less stressful. And here’s a rush hour promise: ‘The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.’ |

Don’t Be A Complainer Sat, 15 Feb 2020 ‘Do everything without complaining.’ Philippians 2:14 NLT In an old Peanuts comic strip, Lucy announces, ‘Boy, do I feel crabby today.’ Her little brother Linus, always the peacemaker, responds, ‘Maybe I can help. Why don’t you just take my place in front of the TV and I’ll fix you a nice snack? Sometimes we all need a little pampering to make us feel better.’ A few minutes later, Linus brings Lucy a sandwich, some chocolate-chip cookies, and milk. ‘Is there anything else I can get you? Anything I haven’t thought of?’ he asks. ‘Yes,’ snaps Lucy, ‘There’s one thing you haven’t thought of. I don’t want to feel better!’ The truth is that some people don’t want to feel better—they just want attention, and complaining is how they get it. Do you know anyone like that? The Bible repeatedly tells us to stay away from complaining. It takes gut-level honesty to ask yourself: ‘How much of what I say focuses on complaining about the situation instead of trying to improve it? Have I built my life around people who feel the same, people who’d probably be upset if I decided to grow and adopt a better attitude? Am I living in the past, nursing old wounds, refusing to forgive others and myself?’ Time alone doesn’t heal—insight does! Jesus said knowing the truth sets us free (see John 8:32). Once you’re willing to face the truth about your attitude and do something about it, your life will start to improve. And one more thought: Paul says, ‘Rejoice always… give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you.’ (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NIV) This is God’s will—so do it! |
