Alesh Keem: Me too One of my instructor is a HND graduate of the college (Yabatech). I guess around 2003. Mr Mustapha Ibraheem aka Yomic Art. He is a bomb in art and till date, He still see Yabatech as the undefeatable school of Art in Nigeria. I actually willingly forfeited my admission to study Business studies at the University of Minna, for a prospective chance at Yabatech. Its my dream lands. I'll be looking forward to meeting you #Alesh. To the painter; pls, can you share your studio location? Exploring gallery and seeing other artists work, I guessa is the most inspirational for emerging artists like myself... Would be glad to visit you Thank You, Sir 1 Like |

Health / 6 Ways To Free Yourself From Comparison Thinking by Btunde009: 6:45pm On Jan 04, 2014 |
Gauging your own success by comparing yourself to others is a no-win game. On one hand, comparison thinking is natural because our minds love to rank, file, and organize, but it’s too easy to get sucked into the depressing pattern of jealousy and competition. It takes effort, but putting an end to comparison thinking is the only way to avoid unnecessary negativity. 6 Ways to Free Yourself from Comparison Thinking 1. Turn the tables. Since comparison thinking comes naturally to humans, try to channel it in a different direction. Try comparing the new you to the old you. Celebrate the things you’re able to do today that you couldn’t do five years ago. Take pleasure in all the ways you’re a more confident version of yourself. 2. Be proud of other’s successes. Part of being happy is learning to learning to be happy for others. Comparison thinking breeds jealousy, which, along with fear and hate, are emotions create a downward spiral of negativity. Try to be happy for other people and their successes rather than being jealous–you might be surprised at how content it makes you feel! 3. Look for triggers. Why are you so quick to compare yourself to others? And I’m not only talking about cyberstalking your frenemies on Facebook and Instagram. More specifically, what are the vulnerabilities that rise to the surface when you look deep within? Are you worried about fitting in, having more money, or career success? Identify the things that trigger negative comparison thinking so you can acknowledge and avoid them. 4. Be kind. Kindness enriches every part of our lives. If you’re unkind to yourself then you’re likely to be unkind to others. Be proud of where you, your friends, and family are in life and don’t be critical. 5. Give up both sides of comparison thinking. Comparison thinking typically involves judging ourselves against those who have more than us, rather than those who have less. But it can also involve feeling superior to those who have less. Resist the urge to compare in either direction. 6. Be yourself. Just because all your friends are having babies doesn’t mean you should do the same. Maybe your life path is different. As we grow older it becomes more difficult not to fall into the mold of what we think we should be doing, even if it’s not a good fit. Remember to stay true to who you are and avoid being who you think you should be. |

Lilaex: Story stoory...?as a muslim. I do not only believe she said the truth. I have been a victim of circumstance myself and that's enough for a proof. I would not be baffled to see some folks pour out their venom at this. They simply do not see any good in something other their own view; they are mostly who have the least of reasoning. Believe me, they are the most retarded among men. |

Evy.uc:. I do not have the same perception as yours. Though been optimistic is good but been realistic I consider is better. Have you considered what those kids might have been exposed to in their own country? Considering their ages and the situation in the country at the time they started getting familiar to things; they might have been studying through hardship, been exposed to several social assaults and environmental bulliness. Hearing of the close ringing sound of terrorism, un-employment which they might have seen some neighbours fall victims. Darkness when the leaders where supposed to have sorted things out. Several to mention but few. To be frank, whether those kids have attempted taking a very precarious and fragile decision or not, the country is just a shadow of their imagination. With fully delicate ambition, they wanted to see the beautiful part of the world. Going abroad is not the offence, most Europeans feel the same for america and the vice is as well versa. It happens everywhere, seeing new things, people, culture and friends is the enthusiastic morale. Our government had better work things out here than seeing crowds of kids doing the protest before every television channels. @53, still Nigerian couldn't be boastful of saying "I feel good in my country"! Its a too devastating... |

Politics / Re: Dear Nigerian Youths, How Can You Actually 'Help' Nigeria!? by Btunde009: 6:34pm On Jul 01, 2012 |
analryder: Lets carry out a TRANSITION...we need to start from our inner mindsets to fight against the ills of our society. At the moment we should start by abandoning what government should do for us and think of what to do for our government. Good that we have varieties of modes for sharing and getting informations with the rampage of the social media outfit around us today. These oppressors of our society does all they can by the help of we youths due to our lazy, greedy and materialistic attitudes to gain what they want ( money, power & respect ). It goes straight to show that for them to take part in any corrupt act they need us and if they are coming in for a change they really need us too. So the future of our country lies in our own hands, and we should stand up now to act on what is right!best coment ever made, pure and straight, wao noting but d truth! |
