People should be dissuaded from studying arts courses. A great contribution to the current sorry state of affairs in Nigeria is that most of the brilliant students pre-independence were studying nonsense art courses like Classics, English Language etc whereas their counterparts in India and Singapore were studying STEM courses.


The following paraphrase from Lee Kwan Yew's book, "From Third World to First" sums it all:
