Revealed: N5000 note already printed abroad, shipped in ahead of circulation

Posted about 2 hours ago | 0 comment

While Nigerians are busy going back and forth over whether the N5000 note should be introduced or not, fresh information has it that there are speculations that the controversial note might already have been printed abroad and shipped into the country, preparatory to distribution as early as January next year.

This is despite the fact that both the House of Representatives and the Senate are insisting that they are yet to give approval for the new note. But the presidency has given its blessings to the introduction of the new note.

However, the Central Bank have come out to declare that what had been printed was just the design and not the original naira note which will come into effect in March 2013. Therefore, who saw the design said it was the yet to be introduced notes, which they claimed had been printed and imported waiting for authorization of its release and distribution. Also, some CBN officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said the notes had not been printed. One of them said: “Whatever anybody saw is the design of the proposed currency not the real currency.

“Before introducing any currency, you have to print a design copy for the monetary authorities to vet and look at the features to ensure they meet security specifications and every other feature in it,” he pointed out

Could it be that this black magic has spread to arsenal football club, Nigerian Government and PHCN.
Sports › Ghana's Best Goal Keeper Under A Spell By Witch Wife by Built2last(op): 12:11pm On Sep 11, 2012
THE wife of an ex-Premier League goalie has confessed on TV to being a witch who sabotaged his career by putting spells on him.
Richard Kingson, 34, has played in the top flight for Birmingham, Wigan and Blackpool and is the most capped player with his native Ghana.

But since he was released by Blackpool last year he has been without a club and lost his place in the national squad. Now wife Adelaide Tawiah has appeared on a Nigerian TV show to claim she sparked her hubby’s loss of form with a black magic spell — and made him impotent for good measure.

She said: “I messed up Richard’s life ever since we got married. I used my evil powers to trouble his career.

“I’ve been working on him spiritually, to the point he could not perform in bed.”

Her confession came as a controversial TV preacher called TB Joshua was casting out the “evil spirit” that allegedly had a grip on her.

Richard, who wed Adelaide following the 2010 World Cup, yesterday went on Facebook to insist: “My wife is not a witch.”

He said people were often possessed by “false spirits”.

Since last week’s broadcast Adelaide has also denied being a witch — saying it was the spirit that was being cast out that spoke.

She said: “I can’t even remember what took place.

“I am not a witch as it has been rumoured. My husband knows how inspirational I have been to him throughout his goalkeeping career

Christianity Etc › Miami Church Brands Members With "666" Tattoos by Built2last(op): 12:20pm On Sep 10, 2012
Puerto Rican born Miranda is the founder and leader of a movement called “Growing in Grace”. He claims that he is God…he is Christ returned, and that he is Antichrist. How is this possible? Well, Miranda says that there is a common misconception with the term Antichrist, and that rather than meaning Opposing Christ or Opposite of Christ, it actually should be translated as New Christ.

Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda brain washed his members into having the mark on the beast 666 on them Church members say the symbol doesn't connect them to Satan but rather to De Jesus' claim that he has replaced Christ's teachings with a new gospel.
Scholars and critics of the movement say the tattoos offer frightening evidence of the influence De Jesus commands over his followers.
"What is he going to do next to call attention to himself?" asked Daniel Alvarez, an instructor in the department of religious studies at Florida International University who has studied the movement. "This means that his control over people is so great that no matter what he says to them, they'll follow him.

De Jesus — who preaches that sin and the devil were destroyed when Jesus died on the cross and that God's chosen already have been saved — has built a massive movement around his claim to divinity. Followers call him "Daddy" and "God" and lavish him with $5,000 Rolexes and sometimes 40 percent or more of their salaries.

Christian leaders have denounced De Jesus, saying he distorts the Bible. The Rev. Julio Perez of Nueva Esperanza, a faith-based community group in Hialeah, said De Jesus was promoting himself rather than helping members of his church. "What he's doing is trying to create his own sect," he said.

De Jesus had just a few hundred followers when he launched his church in a Hialeah warehouse about 20 years ago. Today, he commands a global movement from his Doral headquarters that boasts 335 education centers, 200 pastors, 287 radio programs and a 24-hour Spanish-language TV network that's available to 2 million homes — including by special request from some U.S. cable companies. Only De Jesus and his right hand man, Carlos Cestero, are authorized to preach.

In his sermons, De Jesus emphasizes wealth and success as a sign of God's favor. Many of his members are business owners who give a percentage of their corporate profits to De Jesus, said Alvaro Albarracin, who oversees corporate donations to the church and holds the title "entrepreneur of entrepreneurs." Albarracin, who runs the film production company MiamiLa Entertainment, said he gave 20 percent of his profit to the movement when he sold his Web-hosting company, Dialtone, for more than $16 million in 2001.

Martita Roca, 25, a South Florida singer and actress from Guatemala, said she sometimes gives 40 percent of her salary to Growing in Grace. Giving a piece of her flesh by getting a tattoo was another way to prove her commitment, she said.

"For all of those people who pray for us to come out of this movement, this shows that this is it, there's no going back," Roca said of her tattoos. "This is to make sure that everyone relates me to that vision."

Luz Fuentes, 51, a former Catholic who joined Growing in Grace in 1990, said she and her brother give Growing in Grace up to 50 percent of profits from their Hallandale mortgage company, Apos Mortgage. "Apos" is short for "apostle," one of De Jesus' monikers. De Jesus is listed on the company's website as its CEO.

"Antichrist" is the latest in a string of titles De Jesus has bestowed on himself.

In 1988, De Jesus announced he was the reincarnation of the Apostle Paul. In 1999, he dubbed himself "the Other," a spiritual superbeing who would pave the way for Christ's second coming. In 2004, he proclaimed himself to be Jesus Christ. That claim caused some prominent members to defect from the movement — including De Jesus' first wife, Nydia, and his son Jose Luis Jr., who started his own church in Puerto Rico.

In January, during a packed worship service at the church, De Jesus took off his coat and revealed the numbers 666 on his forearm.

"This is a congregation of Antichrists," De Jesus said, drawing whistles and cheers.

The number 666 appears in the Book of Revelation, a portion of the New Testament that details the prophet John's apocalyptic vision of the rise of the Antichrist, the tribulation and Christ's return. In Revelation, a horned beast appears on earth and requires everyone to get his mark — 666 — on the right hand or forehead.

Experts on new religious movements say De Jesus' opposition to other religions, and his claim to be the only legitimate spiritual authority, resemble the teachings of some cults.

"It's clearly a personality-driven group," said Rick Ross, an anti-cult consultant based in New Jersey. "It is defined by the claims of De Jesus Miranda."

Nick Woodbury, director of the evangelical group Christ for Miami, said most mainstream Christians would reject Growing in Grace's teachings as unbiblical.

"In the Christian evangelical sector, we would consider them a sect," said Woodbury, who has served as a missionary in Colombia with the Mimai-based group Latin America Mission. "They take the Bible, but their interpretation is very warped."

De Jesus' followers have lashed out against organized Christianity because they believe their prophet holds the true gospel, they say. His adherents have disrupted Catholic processions on Good Friday and protested outside an evangelical church gathering in Miami's Tropical Park. Last July, they tore up literature published by the Jehovah's Witnesses and other Christian movements during a march in downtown Miami.

Scholars who are concerned about the movement's growth say they hope De Jesus' latest claim will insert doubt into the mind of some members.

"The symbol of the Antichrist is so negative, the only good thing that will come out of this is that people will say, 'Hold on, this man is going off the deep end,"' FIU's Alvarez said

Politics › N5000.00 Note, We Shall Stop Sanusi by Built2last(op): 10:24am On Sep 10, 2012
Opposition against moves by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to introduce the N5,000 note has gathered momentum in the Senate.

Daily Sun investigations indicated that senators have resolved to take on the CBN over its stance that only a presidential approval was needed for the introduction of the N5,000 note and a restructuring of the nation’s currency.

It was gathered that some senators had already met on the issue and were perfecting strategies on how to stop Sanusi when they resume from the summer recess.

Senate is on recess and will resume plenary on September 18.

But unconfirmed reports indicated that the resumption might be a week earlier.

Three weeks ago, the Senate, through its Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, directed the CBN to stop the proposed move to introduce the N5,000 note and the restructuring of the naira.

The chairman of the committee issued the directive in Abuja.

Thereafter, the committee reportedly met with the CBN, but details of the meeting were not made public.

Regardless, some members of the nation’s upper legislative chamber, opposed to the new naira note, had met, reviewed the Senate’s response and had tacitly endorsed what they termed the ‘quick intervention.’

A member privy to the meeting, but who was not authorised to talk on behalf of the group, told Daily Sun at the weekend that some senators were not happy with the CBN for not carrying the National Assembly along on such a sensitive issue as the issuance of the N5,000 note.

He added: “In any democracy anywhere in the world, the parliament is always involved in crucial economic and monetary issues; particularly as it affects the citizens.

“It was an embarrassment for the leadership of the National Assembly to read reports that even the President had been briefed as far back as December 2011, yet, we only got to read of the policy just as any Nigerian on the pages of newspapers.”

Asked whether President Goodluck Jonathan had already briefed the National Assembly leadership that in turn decided against telling other lawmakers, the lawmaker retorted: “That’s a plausible thing to say. It is not possible for the President to tell our leaders and they will not, at least, discuss it during one of the routine meetings of the body of principal officers.

“No, the National Assembly was not briefed at all. Besides, the Presidency has not even gone about this matter the right way. Imagine that there is a bill pending before the Senate on the autonomy of the CBN and the same apex bank has gone ahead to disrespect the National Assembly.

“At the right time, we will tell Sanusi that he cannot be greater than Nigerians. We are the representatives of the people and if you listen very well, they are saying that they don’t want the new note at this point in time.”

Another senator, who was not a part of the meeting but who declined to be named also added: “The CBN governor is not even discreet about his role in the Nigerian economy. We are still considering amendment of the CBN Act, which will hopefully address the autonomy of the apex bank and here he is, restructuring the nation’s currency without the input of the National Assembly.

“We heard that the CBN and his directors have met the Banking Committee, but they should know that the matter has not ended there. When we resume, some of us will take up the matter.”

Adding his voice to the debate, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Ita Solomon Enang, submitted that in line with international standard practice, the CBN and the ruling government ought to brief the National Assembly before going public about the new note.

Enang said this during a meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association (Class of 1985).

His words: “I want the NBA, and in particular the Law Class of 1985, to take interest in this matter and join the debate. And the debate is: Can the CBN issue a currency and re-denominate the currency of a country without the legislature?

“Is the exercise of this power within the exclusive powers of CBN? Should the president or government in power be parties to the action that is happening?

“Is the denomination of the currency of a country not an economic matter for that country and should standard practice all over the world not be a guide?

“In the United States of America or the United Kingdom and other standard democracies, should it not be a matter that should be debated and agreed upon? “Should it not be a matter that should be a major campaign issue (in) the presidential election that should we re-denominate our currency?

“Should we allow our economy to be run and dictated outside of Nigeria or have posted persons into Nigeria in the name of public offices?

“I want us to ask ourselves since we grew up to travel and to see the currencies of other countries have we seen any currency or Pound Sterling higher than the £50? “I don’t remember seeing the U.S Dollar more than a hundred dollar bill. I want us as a body to stand up and discuss this matter because I’m not asking for discussion only…On my own as a person and as a representative, I am opposing it.

“I am not speaking for the Senate and I’m not speaking for others, but I’m saying that I, Senator Ita Enang, representing the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District and this class, I’m opposing the introduction of N5,000 note and please we should do this to the end.

“I want this class and this Assembly to take interest in these matters because if we keep quiet today it affect our currency and our country tomorrow.”

Health › “18 Again”: New Gel Promises To Restore Women To Their “18-year-old Self” by Built2last(op): 9:42pm On Sep 06, 2012
If you’re looking for a way to feel like a virgin again, here it is.

So says an Indian pharmaceutical company hawking a new vaginal tightening gel called 18 Again, which promises to whip aging lady parts back into shape, all under the guise of female empowerment.

In an ad posted on YouTube, an Indian woman lures a man onto a dance floor, loosely stealing lines from Madonna’s “Like a Virgin,” as the couple purrs that it “feels like the very first time.”

On its website, the company boasts that in addition to tightening, the gel also “helps prevent infections, encourages natural lubrication, masks foul odor, reduces involuntary urine escape,” and a slew of other surprising effects.

Critics who didn’t buy the company’s claim that the product is to “empower the new age woman” sounded off on Twitter.

“Love it when companies find creative new insecurities for women. My existing range just don’t drain my pay fast enough,” Twitter user Nabeelah Jaffer wrote.

“And now I need jaw raising gel,” another user tweeted in response to seeing the ad.

The gel is manufactured by pharmaceutical company Ultratech India. Its all-natural ingredients include aloe vera, Vitamin E and pomegranate.

The company’s website features an impressive FAQ section, including an explainer on how to determine if “you have loose vagina.”

A Twitter account for 18 Again is overrun by quotes by female icons like Coco Chanel and Nora Ephron.

A jar of the gel goes for 2430 Indian rupees, about $45.

Politics › Air Nigeria Staff Plans Protest Over Non Payment Of Salaries:exposing Shady Deal by Built2last(op): 8:59pm On Sep 06, 2012
Staff of one of Nigeria’s flag carriers, Air Nigeria, who were sacked earlier in the week will tomorrow, September 7 take to the streets to protest the shutting down of the airline by by the company’s chairman.

The protest, which was announced in a statement, would be peaceful, and will start at 8a.m. at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Wing 2 in Lagos. From there, the workers plan to march to the office of the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.

It would be recalled that the owner of the airline, Jimoh Ibrahim, had on Wednesday announced a one-year suspension of all activities of the airline and terminated the employment of all its staff, sparing only 50. Both actions would take effect from Monday, September 10.

The staff have however decided to do battle with Ibrahim, and explained that he cannot unilaterally sack all the staff on the pages of newspapers without following due process as contained in their employment contracts.

The aggrieved workers revealed Air Nigeria is owing them four months salary arrears, and added that pension and taxes deducted from workers salaries were not remitted to the relevant authorities.

The workers further alleged that Air Nigeria was owing the Air Nigeria Cooperative Society N56 million in members’ personal savings.

Speaking of the one-year suspension of activities, the staff noted that Ibrahim has made no plans for refunds to passengers who preordered tickets.

“No plans [have been] put in place for all our passengers who have bought tickets to London who will be flying into and out of London from 10th September onward,” the statement said.

“He wickedly wants to get them stranded without alternative plans or refunds.”

It would also be recalled that this is not the first time Ibrahim would take decisions without recourse to the effects on his workers.

One year ago, he acquired majority ownership of Newswatch magazine, but after failing to put in the funds required to turn the company around, he unilaterally suspended publication and relocated the magazine’s editorial offices to Lagos Island. That action is being challenged in court by the original owners and directors of the company.

In June, John Nnorom, a former Executive Director for Finance at Air Nigeria accused Ibrahim of a variety of business malpractices including tax evasion, forgery, and diversion of government funds.

He labelled Air Nigeria aircrafts ‘flying coffins’ and urged Nigerians to stop flying the airline because its aircraft are old.

Health › Drink Water On Empty Stomach by Built2last(op): 5:46pm On Sep 06, 2012
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Further more, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as
modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases: Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes,
constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may
commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)

2. Gastric (10 days)

3. Diabetes (30 days)

4. Constipation (10 days)

5. Cancer (180 days)

6. TB (90 days)

7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and
from 2nd week onwards – daily..

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. May be it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain... For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down
the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break
down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious note about heart attacks:

·Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,

· Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

· You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

· Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

· 60% of people who have a heart attack while
they are asleep do not wake up.

· Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep.

Health › The Hidden Risks Of Getting A Tattoo by Built2last(op): 12:23pm On Sep 06, 2012
When a cluster of skin infections in upstate New York last fall led back to one tattoo artist, local public health officials took the usual step of investigating the artist's hygiene practices. They found that all of his equipment and methods were sanitary, but the nationally distributed ink he had been using, even in unopened bottles, wasn't.

Soon, similar investigations in Colorado, Washington and Iowa turned up harmful strains of bacteria in three other brands of ink. At least 22 skin infections across the four states were linked to contaminated ink, according to research reported Wednesday (Aug. 22) in the New England Journal of Medicine, reports LiveScience.com.

The offending pathogen in the New York outbreak was identified as Mycobacterium chelonae, a relative of the bacteria behind tuberculosis and leprosy that is commonly found in tap water. Though M. chelonae is usually harmless to people with normal immune systems, when it's escorted beneath the skin by a tattoo needle, it can cause a painful rash that can last for months, requiring strong antibiotic regimens and sometimes surgery to eradicate.

According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), past tattoo-related Mycobacterium infections likely arose from the use of unsterile water as a diluting agent in ink. And because the ink that caused the New York outbreak was "gray wash," pre-diluted black ink used for shading, the CDC has speculated that its manufacturer may not have been using sterile water.

So should Americans, one of five of whom now reportedly sport indelible ink, be afraid to get a new tat? Is there any way to be sure that a given manufacturer's tattoo ink is sterile?

The answer to the second question is a definite no. Currently, there is no FDA regulation requiring that tattoo inks be sterile, so a consumer only has a company's or an artist's assurance to go on. It is also worth noting that although a number of the colour pigments used in tattoo ink have been approved by the FDA for use in cosmetics, not a single one has ever been approved for injection into the skin.

Because reporting is voluntary, there is not good data on how often tattoo-related skin infections occur, but if one decides to play the odds and join the millions of Americans who are already inked, there are a few precautionary steps that he or she can take to decrease the chances of an infection.

Along with watch-dogging artists during tattooings to ensure that they use sterile water for dilution and cleaning, the CDC recommends that a consumer only use tattoo parlours registered by local jurisdictions and request inks that are manufactured specifically for tattoos. If an infection does occur, the CDC advises seeking medical advice.

Politics › New Claimant Of ‘ibori’s $15m’ Says Money Was For PDP Campaign by Built2last(op): 8:52am On Aug 30, 2012
The controversy over who owned the $15 million allegedly deepened on Wednesday with emergence of another claimant.

Just as the Federal Government and Delta Stae Government are readying themselves for the legal tussle over which of them is the rightful owner of money allegedly offered as bribe to former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu , by a former governor of Delta state, James Ibori , a third claimant has emerged with an entirely different story.

One Chibuike Achigbu, who claimed to be an oil magnate, filed an application at the Federal High Court Abuja saying that the money belongs to him.

In an application filed before the court, Achigbu said that he gave the money to Andy Uba, a former aide to the then president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo for the purpose of financing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2007 general elections.

He said that he first sought legal advice on whether he could raise money to donate to support the PDP and its candidates throughout the federation for the purpose of winning the 2007 general elections.

The man, who is being represented by ten lawyers, three of which were Senior Advocates of Nigeria, also said that he set a target of N3 billion which he intended to raise through himself and his associates.

According to him, by April 2007 when the election had drawn near, he had raised money in excess of N2 billion after which he realised that such donations could only be made and accepted through a financial institution. He had therefore approached Mr. Uba to verify with relevant agencies of government to certify that the funds were raised honestly and in good faith with a view to donating same to finance the PDP. This Achigbu said was to ensure that the fund would be legitimately applied.

He said that Mr. Uba advised him to deliver the fund to him (Mr. Uba) for onward transmission to the EFCC being the agency of the federal government sufficiently equipped to give a clean of bill of health to the fund before it could be donated to PDP.

Mr. Achigbu added that after he had delivered the money to Mr. Uba, he heard rumours about an attempt by Mr. Ibori to bribe the chairman of the EFCC.

He said that he had nothing to do with Mr. Ibori and the rumour did not strike him as having any bearing with the fund he delivered to Mr. Uba for clearance by the EFCC.

He explained that due to the political ambition of Mr. Uba to become the governor of Anambra State, he lost contact with him and was not able to reach him to ask for an update regarding the fund.

Mr. Achigbu also noted that Mr. Uba, in a telephone conversation in 2008, confirmed that, as agreed, he did invite the EFCC to take custody of the purported unclaimed fund and revert on their investigations about its suitability for the purpose that the fund was intended.”

He said that he chose not to pursue the case any further because he, “took the view that god had sufficiently avenged Iba’s betrayal when his election funded with the money was voided by the supreme court less than a month into his tenure in June 2007.”

However, on the night on August 27, 2012, he received a call from Mr. Uba informing him about the latest development concerning the $15 million and that the money in question was the same money he collected from him.

That Mr. Uba specifically confirmed to him that it was Ibrahim Lamorde, the then director of operations of EFCC that was superficially instructed to receive the money from him (Mr. Uba) on April 25th, 2007.

Mr. Achigbu said that Uba had also agreed to depose to an affidavit to own up to the facts deposed to in his application.

Politics › Why Northern Elites Are Against Jonathan: Jonathan Must Not Be There In 2015. by Built2last(op): 4:47pm On Aug 19, 2012
Revelations are emerging How Northern Elite Control Nigeria’s Oil wealth-

Fresh revelations emerged at the weekend of how some northern elite members and ex-military rulers took control of the Nigerian oil industry.

The scheme was achieved through the allocation of oil wells to themselves, family friends, in-laws and other northern aristocrats and business men, making these individuals to rake in huge incomes from oil money, an online chat portal, NigerianWorldForum, disclosed yesterday.

According to the information, Cavendish Petroleum which operates OML110 was awarded to the late Borno patriarch, Alhaji Mai Deribe by General Sani Abacha on July 8, 1996.

The oil well is said to have a proven oil reserve in excess of 500 million barrels, which is more than the entire 300 million barrels reserve of Sudan. It also has the capacity to produce about 120,000 barrels of crude oil daily from its OBE 4 and OBE 5 wells.

Calculation at current production levels indicates that the Mai Deribes net about N4billion monthly in crude oil sales at oil price estimates of $100 per barrel (p/b).

Another prominent northerner enjoying the wealth from the oil industry is Prince Nasiru Ado Bayero, who is the cousin of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

The Fulani prince is a key shareholder and director in Seplat/Platform Petroleum, operators of the Asuokpu/ Umutu Marginal Field with a capacity of 300,000 barrels monthly and A 30 mmfcsd gas plant capable of feeding 100MT of LPG.

Also, former Defence Minister, General T.Y Danjuma, has been linked with South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO). SAPETRO is a Nigerian Oil Exploration and Production Company that was created in 1995 by the retired army General who is also the chairman of ENI Nigeria. General Abacha allegedly awarded the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 246 to SAPETRO in February 1998.

The block covers a total area of 2,590km2 (1,000 sq. miles). SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd (TUPNI) and Brasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Ltd (Petrobras) to start prospecting on OPL 246. Akpo, a condensate field was discovered in April 2000 with the drilling of the first exploration well (Akpo 1) on the block. Other discoveries made on OPL 246 include the Egina Main, Egina South, Preowei and Kuro (Kuro was suspended as a dry gas/ minor oil discovery).

In June 2006, General T.Y Danjuma was said to have divested part of his rights and obligations to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) for $1 billion (N160bn). Akpo exports about 230,000 barrels of condensate daily. Condensate export is not regulated by OPEC, so SAPETRO/ TOTAL exports as much as possible each day. Egina exports about 75,000 barrels of oil daily.

Therefore, Akpo and Egina’s fields export just over 300,000 barrels of oil/ condensate daily said to be three times what Ghana exports. The General gets 25 percent of what accrues. According to the information, the gas component is about 2.5 trillion cubic feet. The money SAPETRO nets each month is allegedly more than the monthly statutory allocation to any Nigerian state and also more than the oil revenue of Ghana according to information.

Oil fields OML 112 and 117 were awarded to Amni International Petroleum Development Company by General Abdulsalami Abubakar in the twilight of his administration in 1999. In the productionsharing contract, AMNI gets 60 percent for owning the oil block and Total gets 40 percent for providing technical advice. OML 112 was awarded in February 12, 1998 while OML 117 was awarded on August 4, 1999. Operations started on both blocks in February 26, 2006, according to Nigerian- WorldForum. The licenses are due to expire on February 11, 2018 and August 5, 2019 respectively.

The information portal believes that this is one of the reasons why some northern leaders want the presidency back in the north by 2015.

The oil fields have about 50 million barrels in reserve and currently produce/exports just a little below 20,000 barrels per day. The chairman of AMNI International Petroleum and Development Company is Colonel Sani Bello from Kontagora, Niger State whose son, Abu, is believed to have married General Abdusalami Abubakar’s eldest daughter. The retired army colonel was a former governor of Kano State and Nigeria High Commissioner to Zimbabwe.

Former Petroleum Minister, Alhaji Rilwanu Lukman, has also been linked with Afren Energy. The company operates the Okoro and Setu fields in OML112. Apart from operating Amni oil blocks, Afren, also has key interest in the NNPC/Vitol trading deal, Vitol is a London based oil trading company. Vitol lifts 350,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Nigeria.

Former head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida’s in law, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi has been linked with Oriental Energy Resources Limited. The company runs three oil blocks OML 115, the Okwok field and the Ebok field. OML 115 and Okwo are OML PSC, while Ebok is an OML JV.

General Babangida’s son, Mohammed is married to Alhaji Mohammed Indimi’s daughter, Rahama Indimi-Babangida, who also serves as a director in the company. Other directors include Amina Indimi- Fodio, Jibrila Indimi, Ibrahim Indimi, Ahmed Indimi and Mustafa Indimi. The chairman and patriarch, Alhaji Indimi hails from Niger State.

OML 115 is 228 sq Km. On OML 115, Oriental Energy Resources Limited has 60 per cent while Equity Energy Resources AS, which has allegedly been linked to Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s oil and gas investment vehicle, has 40 per cent. On Okwok, Addax has 40 percent equity while on the Ebok field; Oriental Energy Resources has 100 percent. AMNI produces twice as much as Cavendish Petroleum.

Another northern aristocrat, Alhaji Aminu Dantata was awarded oil field OML 108 by General Abacha in November 1995 through his Express Petroleum and Gas Limited. CAMAC Houston, a company owned by KaseLawal bought 2.5 percent equity of Express Petroleum’s 60 percent holdings. The other 40 percent on OML 108 is owned by Sheba E&P Limited, also linked with General Babangida. SEPCOL operates the Ukpokiti offshore field in Shallow water Nigeria, which was acquired from ConocoPhillips in May 2004.

Alhaji Saleh Mohammed Jambo is another prominent northerner thriving in the oil industry. He owns NorEast (North East) Petroleum Nigeria limited. The company is the holder of OPL215 license, covering an area 0f 2,564 square kilometres in water depths between 200 to 1600 metres.

NorEast is the parent company of Rayflosh Petroleum which was awarded blocks OPLs 276 and 283 leading to a Joint Venture Agreement with Centrica Resources Nigeria Limited and CCC Oil and Gas.

The license was awarded to Alhaji Jambo by General Babangida in 1991 and then renewed in 2004. So far $50Million has allegedly been spent on the very promising Okpoi-1 and Egere -1 exploratory wells.

Former Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the Yar’Adua family and the Ado Bayeros have also been linked with INTELS , the Oil and Gas Free Zone and Oil Services Centres, as well as Support Bases, are operated from governmentowned facilities, leased to INTELS under long-term agreements. INTELS runs a ‘private port’, with the attendant effect on the Calabar, Warri and Port Harcourt ports. There are over one hundred major companies operating at the INTEL facility in Port Harcourt.

ALL THEIR OPERATING LICENSE ENDS IN 2018. IF A NORTHER IS NOT IN POWER THEN AS PRESIDENT THERE ARE CHANCES THEY WILL ALL LOOSE THEIR OPERATING LICENSES. THIS IS ONE OF THE SOLE REASON THEY WANT JONATHAN OUT.
