todaynewsreview:When I fear Buhari was when Wale Oke from South West was removed as NIA boss and Buhari appointed a Northerner. Kemi Adeosun was forced to resign Buhari could not find another qualified South Westerner to occupy that position. DSS boss was removed and Bayelsa man was next. Buhari quickly looked for a northerner to replace him. Zombies can keep pretending he is not nepotic and bigotted but time will tell. |

I weak best advice given below WHY AMBODE'S TRAVAILS SHOULD BE SANWOOLU'S 'WORRIES'... NINE months ago. Yes, NINE months ago, most of the so-called "exposed and enlightened" Lagosians did not know there was a guy called Babajide Sanwoolu. But today, he is their man. In 2006, they didn't know one Babatunde Fashola as such but he became their governor. Why? Tinubu anointed him! Sometimes in March 2014, the name Akinwunmi Ambode just came up from nowhere. A year later, he was Governor-elect. Fashola wanted someone else. But his master had other ideas. One thing is common with these three guys: THEY HAVE NO POLITICAL STRUCTURES OF THEIR OWN. In Nigeria, with our politics of Prebendalism, no matter how good you are as a technocrat going into elective position, you need to have your own political Men and Women Friday. Tinubu usually goes for those he knows don't have political lives of their own. So he could whip them to line when they start to "misbehave". Since he has the party in his grasp, he just moves against them using the party apparatus. Which was EXACTLY what he did with Ambode. And also Fashola. So as Sanwoolu is being addressed as 'Governor' and Ambode practically reduced to a lame duck, he should remember one Yoruba saying: "Pasan ti a fi na iyale o n be ni aja fun iyawo." Meaning: the cane used to spank the senior wife is kept in the attic for the new wife. Sanwoolu, as you gallivant around, beware... Credit: Samuel O. Ajayi |

Buhari and Zombies won't laugh last. Mark it. Here is the section of the Code of Conduct Act where it is clearly spelt out that once a public official admits to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in writing that he made some omission in his asset declaration form, the CCB needs not refer the matter to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for prosecution. In other words, if you don't declare all your assets while filling the forms, CCB is mandated to write you about the omission/s which you are to respond to, giving reasons for the omitted assets. If you accept that the omitted assets are yours and include them in the form, you are free from any prosecutions by CCT. But if those assets are denied and are proven to be yours, and have been corruptly acquired then you have a case to answer at the CCT. CJN reportedly admitted his own omission in writing, yet, in less than 24hours after a former Buhari Aide wrote the petition, they dragged the CJN before the CCT and the same President who is yet to publicly declare his asset since 2015 like he publicly promised, the same President who told us that Kano state governor Ganduje a.k.a "Gandollar" should be allowed to be handled by the system, quickly rushed to suspend the CJN without the input of the judicial regulatory body, the NJC, replacing him with an Ezemmuo Sharia fundamentalist, justice Tanko. Those of you who are defending this demonic plan, you have no idea what is coming. Go and read up on Adolf Hitler. This was how he started. He didn't become German Chancellor through coup. He came through the democratic process. Small small and with some element of violence, blackmail and extremism garbed as Nationalism (just like Buhari and his 2011 post election bloodbath) Hitler emerged German Chancellor and even manipulated German parliament into giving him extra powers just like some people advocated for Buhari sometime ago. We all know how it ended for Germany. Dictators always find a reason that will look patriotic in the surface. For Hitler, it was inflation and low self esteem amongst Germans following the lost war. For Buhari, it is corruption even when evidence suggests he and his cronies are actually the most corrupt. This is no longer about PDP-APC. it has never been, even. This is not even about Onnoghen, the CJN. This is strictly about a bunch of pre-historic Barbarians hellbent on setting all of us on fire if only they could rule over our ashes. This is about an ethno-religious agenda.

There is another legal issue rearing its ugly head so soon: PMB swore-in an Acting CJN yesterday and Tanko Muhammad commenced work immediately. The question is, has Tanko Muhammad J disposed to an affidavit at CCB between yesterday and today declaring his assets?. Has ACJN complied with section 290 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( as amended)? For avoidance of doubt, section 290 provides thus:- "290. (1) A person appointed to any judicial office shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed under this Constitution and has subsequently taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance and the Judicial Oath prescribed in the seventh Schedule to this Constitution." While Tanko has taken oath of office, he has not declared his assets as required by section 290 of the constitution, yet he has performed a function of the office he occupies. |
Hmmmm But what is it with this bag

The Southern and Middle Belt leaders forum has convened an emergency meeting over the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as chief justice of Nigeria (CJN). On Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari suspended Onnoghen and appointed Ibrahim Muhammadu as the acting CJN. He backed his action with an order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT). In a statement signed by Edwin Clark (south-south); Ayo Adebanjo (south-west); John Nwodo (south-eeast) and Pogu Bitrus (middle belt), the group demanded a reversal of the suspension, describing it as “a coup against constitutional democracy in”. It called on Nigerians to rise up against “dictatorship” and use all legal means to defend the democracy. “This is a constitutional crisis foisted by desperation and morbid desire to foist rule of thumb,” the statement read. “We have checked through the constitution and the President has no power to unilaterally suspend the CJN. “Section 292 of the amended 1999 Constitution is clear that the President can only remove the CJN with 2/3 of Senate resolution. “To us, what has been done is resort to self-help after the Court of Appeal issued an order stopping the trial of the CJN by the CCT presided over by a man answering charges in court over corruption allegations but still in office. “The latest action is a clear suspension of the constitution and enthronement of full blown dictatorship. “We reject the illegal suspension and demand its immediate reversal. The suspension is null and void and of no effect whatever. An emergency meeting of the Forum holds shortly on this total aberration. “We call on all Nigerians to wake up to the reality that our democracy is now under threat and use all constitutional means to defend it. We must not surrender to this authoritarian rule.” https://www.thecable.ng/southern-middle-belt-leaders-convene-emergency-meeting-over-onnoghen/amp?__twitter_impression=true |

Let me clear something up: Don't abuse the Yoruba for this present darkness enveloping us. You expect them to withdraw their support for Buhari you said? How many of them are supporting him? The umbrella body of the Yoruba, the pan Yoruba cultural association, Afenifere, refused to endorsed Buhari because of anti democratic tendencies and his refusal to embark on restructuring. The only person galvanizing support for Buhari is Tinubu, who is a member of the APC just like persons from my state of Cross River such as Victor Ndoma Egba, Obono Obla, or Rivers State like Rotimi Amaechi or Chris Ngige. Every state from Bayelsa to Sokoto has representatives in Buhari's government irrespective of how influential the position is. What I am saying is, let's stop using collective noun to demonize a section of a country and blaming them for this tyranny. Yes, of all the Southern regions, Buhari has his biggest support from the zone but those who should rather be blamed are those who left PDP to bring him on board. That was where the problem came from. But it's no time for that now, it's time for solution. |
