When the courier service calls you to inform you of their coming, you can tell them you would pick it from their office. You can also tell them your new address ...they would get it to you.

iamkingrobert:
Good day Fam, please if you got a mail your passport was ready, is collect still being made at the VFS center in Lagos? Can i walk in and pick up my passport because am currently not in the address i use for applying months ago o.

We used my husband's salary account with a balance of #1.5m. He has a visitor's visa( on a research visit to University of Free State).

hopcious:
Wow!!! Congratulations to you. It was indeed worth the wait. Could you spare some minutes to share some information on the amount in the bank statement you submitted for the application and what type of visa your husband has?

So finally.....we got our visas this afternoon. We applied for relative visa (myself and two children) on 7th December 2020...the processing took four months. Whew! Thank God it was worth the wait.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 8:10pm On Mar 31, 2021
My brother, I am right behind you for this one. My application is about 15weeks now...two weeks ago, I got a text requesting for proof of accomodation which I sent to VFS via email. Two days after, they confirmed that it had been forwarded to the embassy. Since then, I have not heard from them. Let's hope to hear from them soon. I also applied for a relative visa.

Eazy1986:

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 2:40pm On Mar 28, 2021
When I saw the post...I struggled to look away and ignore....I seriously do not understand the part 'if you know what you are doing'..does it mean people like us who applied since December and are still expecting to hear from them do not know what we are doing? All applications are not the same. If yours came out favourable and really fast, just thank God for the favour.

laeffizy:
This is untrue, and quite misleading. It's not in our hands who gets the visa or not. I was delayed for over three months even with a legit admission letter, a bursary attached to it and up to date documents. The requirements for a visa are on their website and except you have issues with your proof of accomodation, finances..you're most likely on the right track and everything else lies in the hands of the person approving or disapproving.

I got mine after series of mails and follow up from my supervisor.
Let's just say you're one of the very lucky few!

Hi Guys, I applied for a study permit on December 1st, Yesterday I got a message that my visa application has been processed and is ready for collection. This morning, my passport was delivered with my study permit in it....Thank you very much guys, I could only have done it with the information on this page...Merci
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 4:38pm On Feb 24, 2021
The mail won't indicate that the application has been processed, it is only informing him that his application has been sent back to the application center from the SA High Commission. It means it is ready to be dispatched or collected.

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 2:21pm On Feb 24, 2021
Meaning his passport his ready for collection. Wao, since November? What a long wait!

Gbolah21:
A friend submitted his application in November but he got a mail this morning that his application has just been forwarded to SA visa application center today,, since November...Has anyone experienced this ?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 9:14am On Feb 24, 2021
People who applied in January are being attended to while some of us who applied in December are yet to hear from them.....I really don't understand them again..
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 7:36pm On Feb 22, 2021
It's been a while we heard about visa collections on this thread....are people still getting visa or the embassy is on holiday?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 2:46pm On Feb 15, 2021
I do not think you need to book any appointment. Just make sure you get to VSF very early so that you can be attended to in time.

Infoparlour:
Hello guys I am about to apply for study visa, but I am a bit confused, According to VFS website, I am supposed to apply online and schedule an appointment, but I keep reading here that you can just gate crash VFS and submit, Please which is the correct action, can anybody who submitted recently educate me on the right thing to do, I am in Lagos by the way
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 10:56am On Feb 13, 2021
Wao! Wao! Speechless
1.5m huh

Not even up to 150,000!
In fact the money was transfer to my account less than one week by one of those who bought rand from me.
No thanks to our employer who is owing us!

Yes, I had less than 500k from both my Naija and SA account combined.
However, I included my fellowship award (~R16k/month).
Obviously, this is even less than the stipulated minimum of R8,500/person/month

As at the time of inviting my wife, I had only been paid one month stipend and having sent some amount home, made some purchases, I had about (R11k) in my SA account.

I couldn't even get the real statement of account here in SA. They said my account was still less than a month, so I was only issued an interim statement which I certified from the police.

So, I wonder why people having over 1 M in their accounts are saying their applications were rejected for financial reasons.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 11:06pm On Feb 12, 2021
Please did you mean a balance of 150k or 1.5m...beacause the addition of 150k and R11k is about 500k....

justt:
Since I get asked this question often, let me put it here once and for all.
I can't say precisely, but judging from the minimum (R8,500/person/month) expected for a relative visa (http://www.dha.gov.za/index.php/immigration-services/types-of-visas), I guess it's safe to work a bit above the minimum. R8,500 should be around N212,500 - N255,000 depending on the prevailing exchange rate.

While inviting my wife, I used both my naija (<N150K) and SA (about R11k) account details.
That's why I told Bobnono that her sister's visa rejection couldn't have been due to financial reasons since 1 M in the sister's account is R 33,333 (@ N30/R).

Sometimes, rejection due to insufficient fund is flimsy. But if actually that was the case, then you had probably given yourself out somewhere else. For instance, you are applying for visitor's visa (90 days) but the dates on your ticket or/and letter to the embassy indicates more months will be spent, definitely the fund would be insufficient besides the fact that you are not being honest.

Hope this helps someone
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 9:36pm On Feb 11, 2021
@Justt, try check some government approved covid 19 test centers on NCDC website. My husband paid 50,400 for his test @Afriglobal but his friend had his own at a government center( Federal Medical Center, Owo....this center is for people in Ondo State) for just 10k. The service is even better.than Afriglobal's...result is sent to one's mail within 24hrs without any delay.

justt:
Has anyone done covid-19 test recently and has the cost reduced?
The one I did in Nov cost 50k

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bukundy: 7:37pm On Feb 05, 2021
Wao, congratulations sir...please when did she apply? And you were just saying yesterday that the tracking site was showing under assessment. Does it mean that the visa had been approved without them updating the application status?

Well not me really, but my wife.
Fortunately, she got her passport this evening with the visa approved.
