Crime › Police Officer Kills ‘yahoo Boy’ After Pocketing Parts Of N8 Million Booty by Bullet01(op): 9:43am On Apr 04, 2017*. Modified: 1:54pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
The police in Osun State has shot a young man dead after allegedly taking a part of a large N8million booty. A policeman has allegedly killed one Bashiru Ayedun for protesting against the arrest of his colleague who successfully duped an unsuspecting client of N8million in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State. During the weekend, Ayedun was said to have joined other friends to celebrate with the alleged scammer who raked in the N8million before policemen stormed the scene to arrest him. However, the deceased met his death while leading others in a protest against the arrest. An eyewitness, who gave the account of the mayhem under anonymity, said that the youths protested because the police took part of the loots and still went ahead to arrest the internet fraudster. According to him, the police were offered N100, 000 but they rejected it, saying that the boy should give more than that since he got N8 million. He said, “The policemen rejected the N100, 000 and wanted to arrest the boys but they resisted and this led to a fight. One of the youths was shot dead by a policeman in the process and this led to a bigger protest in Ile-Ife.” The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State Command, Mrs. Folashade Odoro, did not answer repeated calls put across to her telephone to confirm the story, Punch reports. https://i1.wp.com/www.informationng.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Police-logo1-6.jpg?w=436However, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun state Afolabi Babawale confirmed that one Basiru Ayedun was shot dead and this resulted into a bigger protest on the streets of Ile-Ife. http://www.informationng.com/2017/04/horror-police-officer-kills-yahoo-boy-pocketing-parts-n8-million-booty-see-details.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Politics › Summons Over Grass Cutting Contract: I Won’t Appear Before You, SGF Tells Senate by Bullet01(op): 11:28am On Mar 23, 2017 |
ABUJA – SECRETARY to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, yesterday, told the Senate he would not honour the invitation by the Ad Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North-East, since he had gone to court to challenge it. Babachir David Lawal Also, the Managing Director of Lawal’s company, Rholavision Engineering Company, also wrote to the Senate hinting that he had approached the court to challenge the invitation given him and would not, therefore, honour the invitation. Recall that the Senate Committee had, Tuesday, issued a fresh summons on the SGF and his company’s MD, as part of the ongoing investigation into claims that funds earmarked for humanitarian crisis in the North-East were mismanaged. However, in separate letters dated March 22, addressed to the committee through its Chairman, Senator Shehu Sani, yesterday, explained their positions. Lawal said in the letter: “I wish to kindly request that you draw the attention of the other members of the committee that I will not be able to appear before it primarily because I have gone to court to challenge the invitation, among others.” However, contacted, Senator Sani said in spite of the letters hinting of their decision not to appear before his committee, the committee’s report on the subject matter would be treated at plenary today.
According to an earlier letter from the committee inviting the duo, they were expected to appear as part of the ongoing investigation into claims that funds earmarked for humanitarian crisis in the North-East were mismanaged. The letter read: “The Senate, at its sitting on October 4, 2016, debated on a motion, Mounting humanitarian crisis in the North East, after which an ad hoc committee was constituted. “The committee was to conduct a public hearing in order to ascertain how much has been released to the Presidential Initiative on the North-East, PINE, and how these funds have been utilised from inception to date. “The committee was also expected to investigate the diversion of grains and other food items from the Strategic Grain Reserves, NEMA and other sources for the IDPs. “The committee held a three-day public hearing between December 6 and 8, 2016, even though some of the invited stakeholders refused to attend.” https://d19lga30codh7.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Babachir-David-Lawal.gifRead more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/03/summons-grass-cutting-contract-wont-appear-sgf-tells-senate/ |

Family › Re: My Brother Blocked Me On Whatsapp by Bullet01(f): 11:52am On Mar 01, 2017 |
Pluto16: My brother blocked me on WhatsApp just because i asked him to send me money jockingly (because i know he would never send it) .I've never disturb him with anything before or have any quarrel with him. He is living abroad and he has never send me money or anything before. He always ignored my messages on bbm, whatsapp and facebook. So I asked him money jokingly today, then He replied with just 'lol' then blocked me afterward. Like i have nothing to offer like i can't add any value to his life. Though he is an half-brother, same father different mother. After he blocked me i feel very sad, like i am nobody. I can't keep it to myself anymore so i decided to share it on Nairaland. Sometimes, to succeed in life you need ENEMIES.... Yes!!! You need people who will mock you, so that you can run to God. You need people who will try to intimidate you, so that you can be courageous. You need people who will say "NO" so that you can learn how to be independent...I mean how to do it yourself. You need people who will disappoint you so that you can put all your trust in God alone. You need people who will work towards you loosing that job, so that you can start your own big business. You need people who will sell your 'Joseph' so that 'you' can get to Egypt and be a Prime Minister in a strange land of captivity. You need a cruel landlord, so that you won't be too comfortable in someone else's house, then you can build your own house on time. But sometimes, when we are disappointed, we feel very bad and we tend to remain on that spot. Not knowing that the end-point of disappointment is the beginning of your accomplishments. Understand this, "that every disappointment you once had came with a blessing!" However, it is not everyone that partakes in this blessing that I'm talking about. You cannot see a new OPEN door while you are still putting all your attention, time and energy in trying to force the closed one to open. And again I say, "No disappointment can ever come without an attached blessing!" So, when the disappointment come, thank God for it and tell "HIM" to open your eyes to see the new blessing that HE has for you! Disappointment is PHASE 1 while accomplishment is PHASE 2. I doubt if one can jump the protocols. That is why it is called BREAKTHROUGH Something must BREAK so that you can go THROUGH! |
Education › Re: KWASU Is The First University To Be Accredited With Aeronautical Engineering by Bullet01(f): 12:26pm On Feb 27, 2017 |
sunmbo123: Dear University Community,
I am writing on two matters, one good news and the other terrible news. The NUC has formally written the Kwara State University approving the University's full mode of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering (B. Eng.) degree program, and I must congratulate all our students and staff in Engineering, especially the department of aeronautical and astronautical engineering for their hard work and patience, that have led to this great success. By this news, KWASU has retained its record as the first-ever Nigerian University to institute a degree program in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Our dear students and staff can be proud of their University! We have formally submitted an invitation to NUC for accreditation as we are fully ready for the NUC accreditation.
On the sad news was the recent death, on February 22, 2017, of a son of the HOD of the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Prof. S. Talabi. This is a very terrible story that has shaken the Department, the College and the entire campus, and we pray God Almighty to stand by Prof. Talabi, console him and strengthen him, and forgive the son and make him a child of Paradise. Please feel free all to sympathize with and console Prof. Talabi on this sorrow. It is from God that we all came and to Him we shall all return.
Dear University Community, I must seize this opportunity to express my heart-felt gratitude to all from this great community who sent me congratulatory messages on being asked to give the 2017 Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) lecture, jointly organized by NAL and the National Universities Commission, and which I delivered at the Idris AbdulKadir Hall, National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja, on February 23, 2017. I thank everyone in KWASU that worked towards the success of the lecture.
KWASU Chancellor, His Excellency, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari sent a representative to the lecture and so was the Governing Council of this University. The Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, KWASU Registrar and his family, Humanities, Management and Social Sciences Provost and Academic Coordinator, Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, Director, Kwara State University Press and his staff, Protocol Officer Hakeem Alohunmata, VC's PA, AbdulKadir AbdulKareem of the Electrical Unit of the Works Department, KWASU Drivers Coordinator, UR Staff Alawo, and many more from KWASU, all attended.
The overwhelming kind messages and solidarity that I continue to receive from you all too numerous to list here are indication of your generosity and love. Without question, the honor for this lecture belongs to our dear University and to all of you!
I look forward to seeing you all on campus!
All my best wishes,
Abdul-Rasheed

Emerging reports suggests that Donald Trump’s new administration has deleted some of Barack Obama’s pet policies from the White House website. Daily Mail reports that deleted from the website were the phrases ‘LGBT’ rights and ‘climate change.’ Chicago Tribune reports that The issues page of Trump’s White House offered no new plans or policies but rather a rehash of many of his most prominent campaign promises – a signal to the nation that Trump, more pragmatic than ideological, plans to implement at least the key guideposts of his campaign vision. His policies include plans to both withdraw from and renegotiate major trade deals, grow the nation’s military and increase cyber-security capabilities, build a wall at the nation’s southern border and deport undocumented immigrants who have committed violent crimes. Several social issues disappeared from the WhiteHouse.gov site Friday, including a page dedicated to LGBT rights. A report on the Labor Department’s website on LGBT workers rights was also removed. Advocates for the LGBT community have worried about what a Trump administration would mean for the progress made on equality issues under President Obama. As a candidate, President Trump said he is opposed to gay marriage and Vice President Pence has taken strong anti-gay rights stances throughout his political career and while it’s standard for the new administration to update the White House’s official website with its agenda as part of the transition it is notable that the Trump administration did not choose to include anything about the LGBT community. https://allure.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/TRUMP-SIGNS.jpghttp://vanguardngr.com/ |
