like how much is rent?

It all depends on the area , decent room n parlor in a low budget area is about 20k in naira monthky.
Close to city center you pay bout 40k in naira monthly.
Rent are paid 3 months upfront , some landlords will ask for six months, some want it paid monthly .
It all depends.
Politics / Re: Nigerians Spend Over Half Of Their Earnings On Food, Worst Globally – Picodi by Bullman(m): 3:27pm On Aug 25, 2023
As broke as The Gambia is
A bag of rice 25kg is 800 dalasi slightly above 10k in naira.
50kg is about 1800 dalasi about 19k in naira.
Full carton of chicken is 900 dalasi , about 10k in naira.
Food is cheap,
None of these items mentioned are produced in the Gambia, and it is still very very affordable..
In the Gambia there are no Dams to generate electricity, the government make use of generators , tho electricity is expensive but it is available 24/7.
For those of you always shouting that Nigeria is way better than most African countries u need to wake up and smell the coffee. Nigeria is really fuckdd mehn

Romance / Re: She Wants Me To Apologize All The Time by Bullman(m): 2:10pm On Aug 13, 2023
Deenillah:
I'll just go straight to it.

My girlfriend of 2years gets upset when I don't apologize even when I'm not at fault. , saying I don't care about her feelings.

I'm this person who believes that everyone is responsible for their actions and should shoulder the consequences for thier actions.

I don't apologize except when I know I'm wrong and I try as much as possible to avoid things that will make me apologize unnecessarily except of course for the ones that happen coincidentally.

But she wants it to be that at every little instance, I apologize even if she's at fault which to me I find unacceptable and this causes quarrels between us when it happens.

MY QUESTION IS

Am I wrong to want to apologize ONLY when I'm at fault?

Babarun ooo .
I need you to understand that if someone is comfy enough to leave you in a state of confusion and hurt, while you repeatedly ask for clarity , they dont care about the impact of their actions on you . They have shown exactly that they are someone who only cares about their own comfort.

As for me I don't want any relationship where I have to constantly feed your ego to make sure the relationship is intact.
The privilege of a relationship is that we both have access to constructively criticize one another.
The aim is to grow, not just to feel good.

can 2.5 be enough to start a life there. will it be enough to get accommodation and to open a unisex salon for my wife while I look for job or start my furniture workshop

To get a good shop in a very good location will cost you about 400k to 700k yearly in naira. Depending in how new the shop is.
In the Gambia you will never be asked to pay for one year , its either three months rent or six months at most .
There are alot of places like Amsterdam where you can buy any equipments she will be needing in her saloon , the equipments comes directly from holland.
For your furnc business , to be honest gambians still make odd looking furnitures. Because most furnitures here come from Europe and are bloody expensive.
So if you are good with the furniture business , you will do just fine..
90% of ibo women are into hair extension n saloon business over here.. there is a market and enough profit to go around.

with Nigeria's economy getting worse daily, please which African country has good and friendly economy that I can migrate to with my wife and 3 kids with 2.5m budget.
my plan is for me and my wife to start a business over there .
please advise needed

The Gambia will do you alot of Good.
They have good public schools way better than the ones you see in Nigeria,
There are fairly cheap private schools too depending on your budget.
The way some people belittle other African countries and say you are better off in Nigeria is a very fat lie,
I left Nigeria last year to the Gambia, found a good location and started a car wash, in just a year I have saved almost 270000k dalasi which is way over 3 million in naira.
And it is not as of my car wash is a standard type.
If you have any nice business concept , consider ivory coast, Senegal and the gambia.
You can access them via road .
Avoid Ghana dont ask me why.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Abusive Boss Broke My Head And Doesn't Want To Pay Me by Bullman(m): 12:16pm On Jun 12, 2023
Tryagain77:
I saw a post on this forum which looks similar to mine and that inspired me into writing this to share with people how my boss (former) was abusing me.

I graduated from one of the courses in social science in one of the federal universities and have been job hunting to land a good job but to no avail.

Bills were piling up while I was going down economically. Out of hunger, lack and frustration, I settled to work as a barman in a hotel.

A week after resuming that work, the man that the hotel is leased out to started showing me his true colours. Nobody is above mistake in life. Even minor things that could have been settled without raising eyebrows, he would shout at me and abuse me right in front of customers. He would use derogatory words to describe me and say all sort of inhumane things to me, all to show that he's the boss.

Despite all that, I couldn't leave because I had no other job option at hand. For the 9 months I have worked in the place, these are the things I went through.

1. I have been verbally and physically abused by the said man. There is no kind of derogatory and inhumane word that man has not used on me and most times, right in the presence of customers and also when in the presence of the girls he brings to sleep with.

Note: this is how he behaves with all the staff, not only me.

2. He kicked me, slapped me, knocked my head, spat on me, yelled at me. Calling me a fool, an idiot, useless something etc, was no longer anything worrisome to me again because I got used to it.

3. Because of all these abuses, his friends who use to come there took advantage and started abusing me too. One slapped me the other day because I presented a bill he thought I surcharged him, which we later found out I didnt. I don't blame him actually.

4. You would work 2 months plus before you receive 1 month salary. For example, you would receive January salary between 10-15th of March.

5. Salary was N25,000 but I have never received that amount complete. He always look for something accuse me of in order to deduct our so called salary and pay less. There was a month I received N7000 as my salary.

6. Any customer that breaks a glass pays N1000 for it. When he first mentioned this in a meeting, we thought he was joking, but he was being serious. When he started deducting my salary for broken glasses, then I realized he was serious. I have never heard anything of such anywhere before. That a customer who breaks glass should pay N1000 for it.

What happened on the 23rd of May.
23rd of May was his birthday. He invited friends and celebrated. Right in his presence, one of the guests broke a glass. I'm the only one serving both the bar and guests in the room including food. So it was a very busy time for me. Just because I didn't sweep the broken glass immediately because I was busy serving people, as I wanted to pass, he shouted angrily at me, aimed me with the broken glass and broke my head. I was bleeding and I left the place to a pharmacy to treat the wound. Guess what? He was not even remorseful about it at all.

The following day I tendered a resignation letter with immediate effect. Obviously if I don't leave the place, the man may kill me or make me do something I will later regret.

Now pay me off, he's telling me I need to work again at least another one month for him to find a replacement, if I'm serious about receiving my outstanding salary or I should forget about it. Even at that, I know too well that he will pay me anything he likes, claiming glasses were broken, I did this and I did that. Presently he's looking for job seekers but nobody wants to work with such a crude person anymore. Even someone he sacked as usual over two months ago, he's not been able to replace till today.

Now I'm jobless, hungry and penniless.

I need advice on how to go about to collect my money from this man. I don't have strength for any fight with him. I just need my hard earned money but let it not be until another blood is spilled.

Story of a struggling Nigerian.

God knows I'm so quiet, but I won't resign
We go fight and blood must flow.

Just like we play the role of fathers and counselors to the ladies, they play the role of mothers and advisers to some of us too.

I for example can be quite a handful and it takes a patient lady with some degree of motherly attitude to be in a relationship with me.

I'm not proud of it though, it's just background and circumstances. I'm steadily working on it too.

I'm not in Nigeria at the moment, but truth is nothing go ever join me with a Nigerian lady for relationship matter..

Nairalanders please help advice me, this is a matter of life and death I don't want to waste this money cry
Let me just go straight to the point

So I have exactly 1 million naira in my bank account and I'll be 22 by 27th of this month (this is not a flex on anybody please)
I don't currently have a job, I live in Lagos and with my parents. But a lot of things happening here and I feel like if I don't leave soon, I might just die.

I plan to move to Akwa Ibom state to go and start a new life on my own even though I haven't been there before. I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, I don't smoke. I'm still a virgin, never had sex in my entire life,I don't womanise, I have Zero friends.

So my plan is to move to the state, secure a cheap accommodation like a single room self contain that should not cost anything more than 100-120k a year. After I secure accommodation, I plan on searching for a job that can at least pay the bills. And probably set up a POS business with some of the money that someone else can be running for me. I don't eat too much and I know how to cook.

Now my question is this. Will I be able to survive for some time in the state with that amount of money pending till I get a job?
And how much is the average rent for a single room self contain in akwa Ibom?

nlfpmod Myndd44 farano RoyalRoy
Disguy justwise lalasticlala - Please for the love of God cry

See guy to be honest, POS business is good as long as you will run the business yourself , if you employ anyone especially in a new city where you know no one , dem go run you street.
For the bike business , it will end up frustrating you.
It is really hard to do business with people you dont know. You stated earlier you have never been to akwa ibom.
Keke napep business is hot cake in uyo too.. if u fit ride am yourself.
Dont be in a rush to make your decisions, relax and take your time.
