Infolenka:
A lot of Nigerian movies are bad, yes, but among the debris of bad movies there are still some that are good. I'll admit that the production, direction and acting quality of our movies these days are improving and it's time we celebrate what is ours and give it the support it requires to grow.

So, on this note, what's the best Nollywood movie you've ever watched?

Crime / Re: The Story Of Dan Matakaya Mwaka & His Wife: Acid Bath, Domestic Violence by Bullman(m): 3:53pm On Jan 13, 2021
yankeenowo:
HE WAS NOT BORN BLIND, HIS WIFE DID THIS TO HIM

This is Inspector Dan Matakaya Mwaka, a 31 year old police officer. Mr Mwaka was not born with this frightening appearance. What you see is the result of a normal argument he had with his wife.

One day, Dan and his wife had an argument about a house issue. He says it seemed a normal argument like any married couple and later left for work. He had a night shift so he came back home in the morning around 05:30 hours and went straight to the bed to have some sleep.

This is the moment his wife chose to come and pour acid solution on his face. Then she ran away. But it was not enough for her to spoil his face, she also acted horribly so that he couldn't escape the bedroom. She had poured water on the floor and connected it to electricity then locked the door. As soon as Dan stepped on the floor, he was electrocuted and fainted. Neighbour who had herd him shouting for help forced themselves in his house and opened the door to his room, switched off electricity and rushed him to the hospital.

He had screamed so loud for help before his neighbors came and found him in his despair. They rushed him to hospital and luckily his life was saved, but unfortunately not his eyes. Inspector Dan permanently lost his sight and now completely blind.

His wife was arrested, then released later on bail. He says he forgave her but he is not going to abandon the charges against her. He only met her at the court and all she said was that she doesn't know why she did what she did.

This is how a random conversation with a simple disagreement can lead to tragedy. He adds that every single day he lives is a struggle. All because someone could not manage her anger and emotions. Inspector Dan is just one of the many men that have suffered extreme domestic violence at the hands of evil wives. So sad.

StacyO:
Hello, men in the house.
I'm planning on investing some money into the danfo business world.
But,I still haven't gotten any tangible info from most of the researches I've made.

I know there are a lot involved in it but, I want to know roughly, the total amount of money one needs to hold on to, before venturing into the business.
With the purchase of the bus, maintenance and perhaps government clearance.
Can a million naira be able to possibly get all this things sorted out??

For a fact I won't be the one driving it, how much returns do you think the driver should drop for me everyday?

Candid advice needed.

When you finally know how much u need to kick start your danfo hustle,
Make sure u drive the bus your self or give it out on hire purchase if you give it out on daily or weekly returns bros life go tire you, you fit enjoy returns for the first one month if you are lucky., but bro u see the remaining months ehn na story upon story your driver go de return give u instead of cash.
Be wise on your investment. Good luck

Travel / Re: Canada Hype And Travel Rush: Here Are Things You Need To Know by Bullman(m): 8:49am On Jan 11, 2021
Princewill1:
The high successes recorded by dubious politicians, fraudulent pastors and ponzi scheme operators in Nigeria are living proofs that Nigerians can be so gullible. We can easily be deceived. The astronomical hype on Canada is the latest deceit in town. Here are things you need to know before immigrating.

1. The list of richest Nigerians is filled with Nigerians living at home. You're more likely to make it into Forbes if you live in Nigeria. At least that's what the stat shows, whether people making into Forbes in Nigeria are engaging in corrupt practices is a story for another day. The odds of becoming a dollar billionaire favours those at home . No Diaspora Nigerian has ever made it into Forbes billionaire list.

2. There are more money to be made in a developing economy than in a developed economy. That's why as you're rushing out of the country, Lebanese, Indians and Chinese are rushing in. Only few will understand. You're sitting on the biggest market in Africa yet you haven't realize this but the Lebanese and the Indians knew this.

3. If you are the type who don't fancy working for others, it's much more easier to own a business in Nigeria than in Canada/US. Western countries were set up for the 99% populace to work for 1% elites. Their education systems were designed to produce workforce for the rat race. Not to create employers of labour.

4. It's stupidity to resign from a high-paying job in Nigeria in a bid to relocate to Canada/US. Your eyes will get clear up when you start facing the hard realities in Canada. Those who had made this mistake in the past are ashamed to come on social media to talk about it. The ones talking on Twitter are 'freshers' who just arrived.

5. If you want to secure 2nd passport for your kids, you don't necessarily need to immigrate to achieve this. There are other ways, one method is overseas child birth.

6. You're 5x more likely to be shot and rubbed in New York than in Lagos. Poor neighborhoods all over the world has more crime rates. The thing is, when you finally made it in Nigeria, you can move to high brow areas with lesser crime.

7. Nigerians are spending up to 8millions ($21k) and above to immigrate to Canada/US whereas an average canadian or American citizen can't boast of $10k in their bank A/C's. They live pay check to pay check.

8. Some Nigerians claims that they ain't relocating because of the money but because of good infrastructure, good health care system, value for their money etc. That's a lie! 98% of Nigerians who're eager to travel out are relocating because of economic reasons. There are good infrastructure, good health care system and value for money in countries like Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Chile etc but Nigerians ain't trooping there, indicating that their preference for Canada/US is purely based on economic reasons.

9. It's cheaper to live in Nigeria. Canada/US promises higher minimum wage but the system will still take it away from you. It's like giving you with one hand and taking from you with another. $2k (N760k) will pay for your one year rent of 2 bedrooms apartment in a good location in Nigeria but same amount will only fetch you one month rent of a match box apartment in Canada/US.

10. This is not to stop you from traveling out but to inform you on the true realities. Economic immigration should be left for lower or working class who're struggling or to young lads who wants to school abroad and thereafter further their career overseas. Not to deceive Nigerians already earning good in corporate offices in Nigeria to resign and relocate where they will be employed as security guards or to deceive business owners who's businesses are thriving in Nigeria to close down business and relocate. Don't let them deceive you with the hype. Money don't grow on trees anywhere in the world.

How much were u paid to write this horseshit epistle?

See as u make d journey by land wan sweet me... I been wan do osusu for flight money b4 o..

Stepping out of naija border, u are introduced into new culture n reality... Now how did u cope with d food on ur journey, knowing naija dishes aren't in sight... Like when i visited Ghana, na only suya i fit chop thru d journey.. though just few hours journey... But 6 days journey, man go weak without good food o...

Can u give a rough estimate of an amount of money i need to have handy b4 embarking on d journey.. as to have a smooth free journey... Again my passport na virgin..

What's d cost of getting d residence permit? Will one get it even though he's not employed in d Gambia?

Trust me the land journey is something u wont regret.
Is it going to be stressful ? Yes but bro you will getu experience new culture and understand a bit about west africa. For the feeding, you sure think Nigerian food be badass until u taste other countries soup. U fit purge lol but u go de alright. Virgin passport lol those miserable immigration officer will wana squeeze u abit like jjc but u will be fine shine your eyes estinate cost d last time i took a road trip is bout 50k u know things are different now 80k budget u will be fine just dont over eat on your journey just do snacks till u get to banjul to save cost. U dont need a resident permit until after u must have stayed for 90days i dont know how much it is now but chill it shouldn't be more than 25k then it was about 15. Long as u have a passport u will be given a permit gambia no be europe. Some ppl got to the gambia after 4 days trip it all depends on d bus n driver not saying over speeding tho but naija to ivory coast is a day trip which musy habe covered 35% OF YOUR TRip

My brother u have spoken so well like d proud son of ur father... I salute u righteously... I get few questions to ask regards Gambia, cos i intend to travel there soon once my passport is ready...

1st I believe Gambia is a west african country n a member of d ecowas, same as Nigeria.. why would i need a residence permit to have an extended stay?

2. We re presently in 2021, is it possible to get a direct vehicle from say Seme/Nigeria to Gambia? Like u said as of 2014, there was no direct bus... Now it's like 7yrs after...

3. U talked about d use of ferry from Senegal to get to Gambia, is it still so till today? Any idea?

4. 6 days journey long o jisos.... During ur journey, did u at anytime lodged into a hotel, just to rest n freshen up for d next journey or u headed straight both night n day till u got to ur destination... Man fit consider flight ooo... Though i love adventures sha..

5. How about language barriers on ur way, knowing that d official language of most of d countries u passed thru is French... How did u cope?

Let me stop here first...

Good morning bro. The fact the gambiabis a member of ecowas still requires you apply for a resident permit after your 90days stay i could remember back then i practically walk around with my passport just for identification and so the authorities don't conclude my stay was illegal. Nigeria is messed up with lots of illegal migrants doesn't make other countries same. In gambia there is a fine to pay if you get caught without a residential permit after 90 days.

2 , bro there are no direct buses from seme border to the gambia you must break yout journey like i stated earlier

3. Yea its still via ferry i think ita about three hours ferry ride across the river gambua but its fun

4 crashing in a bus park or a hotel is your choice tho

5 most francophone countries speak and understand english to some point or maybe just the basis so that wont be a problem.

If you have a reasonable amount of capital for business go to the gambia, although it isn't as developed as Nigeria but trust me you will be admired n well respected as a Nigerian. Plus the gambian dalasi has more value than naira

thanks for taking out time to respond this lengty !! I really do appreciate!! please tell me how much do you think one can make in a day from street hustling ? for in stance this last Christmas of 2020 I was able to hustle 10,000 naira on chrismass day only !!! is it possible for one to be able to hustle atleast 1000 Gambia dalasi in a day ? please where is the economic center of the Gambia? where in Gambia will you recommend I settle in ? as in I mean which state you can recommend I stay !!! please tell me about their accomodations in Gambia!! ie how much one can get a self contain hostel kind of house ? please tell me about their permit after the free Ecowas 90 day stay what nest ? does Gambia police arrest Nigerians ? please tell me about their women and culture !! what is their mode of transportation ? do they have okada over there ? do they know about art works ie drawing and painting ?

Boss for real on chrismas i guess u made up to 10k because population favours entrepreneurship in Nigeria, the Gambia population is about 1.9 or 2mil ppl what i know for sure will give u more than 1k dalasi a day is if u have a taxi. The economy center of d gambia include serekunda d most populated city and banjul d capital city. There are no states in the gambia just regions for a hustler i will suggest u reside in serekunda because it isnthe most populated hood in d gambia, for accommodation it is cut your coat according to your material if u need cheap apartment u can settle in london corner in serekunda bros the place is worst than ajegunle but if u want something a bt moderate stay in manjai or kotu kuare hostel crib should b about 140k a year unfurnished ooo butnyou may share nawec (Nepa) bill with other tenants, when your90 days rule expires u are expected to pay for a resident permit. If u dontnand you get caught u will be fined ooo their police don't do bribe ad obvious as naija popo.. and they dont smile. GAMBIANS LOVE NIGERIANS ALOT because FOR THEIR MIND ALL NIGERIANS ARE RICH. THEIR TRANSPORT SYSTEM INCLUDE TAXI N BUSES THEY DON'T HAVE OKADA . TALKING ABOUT ART WORK THERE IS A MARKET FOR CRAFT IN THE GAMBIA IT IS CALLED ALBERT CRAFT MARKET IT IS OME OF THE BIGGEST CRAFT MARKET IN W.AFRICA. tourist always patronize artist alot n oay good money for their services

I Need Your Opinion On This Issue That's Threatening My Relationship

My fiance wanted to come to the house to see my mum but I told him I won't be around because I'm about heading out to somewhere, so he asked me if my mum would be around, then I said yes and he said he would still go to see her and it doesn't matter if I'm not around.

When I later got home that night, my mum complained that he came empty handed. He didn't bring anything for her and she was the one who offered him her drink.

Although initially, I didn't see anything wrong with that but when my mum expressed her displeasure, I later called him to ask why he came to the house empty handed then I let him know I wasn't happy with him, that it would have been better if he didn't come. He tried arguing with me but I hung up.

Since then, we haven't spoken to each other nor visited each other. Was I wrong?

Romance / Re: Help, I Am In Love With A Single Mother Of Two. by Bullman(m): 3:23pm On Jan 08, 2021
BabaIbo:
I am a young man in my thirties and she should be in the same range(I didn't ask her about her age because I don't really lay emphasis on age). We are from neighbouring towns.

As my heading reads, recently I met a lady online and we have been communicating well and I noticed she ticked most of the boxes of what I want in a woman.

Prior to now, I told myself I will stay away from anything woman because I just started a business last year and I want it to grow and balance before thinking of any thing women or marriage.

Recently, I noticed I am developing strong feelings for her, strong enough to lead to the alter.

Now the problem is, she is a single mother of two, we don't stay in the same city and the father of those kids seems to live in a neighbouring city to where she lives(although to a good extent the father of those kids is not a problem).

My question is what will you advice me to do in this situation?
*Go on and start a relationship with her.
*Keep her as a friend, although she may get hooked by another man along the line.

Anybody here who have been in similar situation, should help share their experiences too.

Note: She has never been married.
She is working and comfortable, money a problem is not a problem, i.e no unnecessary billing associated with some relationships.

thanks for the response and I really do appreciate bro can you please explain on how to get to the Gambia by road ? where to change money !!? and please explain why you prefer the Gambia among other countries in West Africa.

Gambia by road... your journey starts from seme border straight to abijan via Abc transport. From abijan ivorycoast u will sure tell d driver to link u up on where to get a bus direct to monrovia or freetown when u arrive freetown u take a bus to guinea conakry direct.. getting to conakry u take another bus to daker senegal. Senegal to the gambia is via a ferry not a direct road trip. I cant remember how much i paid . U will convert your naira to cfa in seme boarder shine your eyes and know d market value well.
I lived in the gambia for a very long time as a kid with my family i stayed in manjai close to west coast radio. Bro truth is the gambia isnt as developed as Nigeria u cant be loudly rich but u sure will be very very comfortable. Good light back then dont know about now.
Steady security, good roads i never withnes any road accident the only one i saw was a donkey colliding with a bicycle. The gambian currency value dalasi is higher than d naira. Gambians love Nigerians almost all d banks in gambia r nigerian banks. Good opportunities to start a business lots of retired white ppl live in d gambia. It's the number 1 toursit destination in west africa. Food is relatively cheap and her ppl are really straight foward and hospitable.. plus the gambian passport is the sixth strongest in africa lol

Bro not once not twice i have been to the gambia by road the journey is stressful but fun it will takr u maximum of 6days to get to banjul or a week but trust me the road trip was worth it total cost by road in 2014 ws about 50k there r no straight buses to banjul

As this year comes to an end tonight. A lot of appreciation to friends and loved ones, best wishes for the coming year are flying around. A lot are optimistic about the coming year.

It has been the best year for some yet the worse for many others.

I won't like to bore you all with happenings of this year. But one thing is for sure, we all agreed that this year had been one of a kind thanks to brother Corona and Chief ASUU especially.(for students angry)

We succeeded at some things, failed woefully at many others but above all we learnt and got more experience.

I learnt a lot of things and I'm sure we all did. Here are some of the core lessons 2020 succeeded in teaching me hardcore cheesy

1. Never to be afraid to taking risk especially when it comes to financial liberation.
So long a business/investment is in good standing, go for it(wisely) if you have the financial muscle. That might just give you the financial breakthrough you have been hoping for.

2. To always try to get out of my "comfort zone
No matter how comfortable your comfort zone might be, always strive to "be more" and uncomfortable. Trust me, that's the only way you can grow.

3. To build my network.
After all, in this age and time, your NETWORK determines your networth. No long talk about it. We all know where Nigeria tilting towards and how things are being run grin

4. To always stay informed
Omo, information is power, this year was the year I knew the worth of that popular saying. Information is sometimes what differentiate the Middle class from the rich. Information has a way of placing you one step ahead amongst your peer. Trust me.

5. Not to stay depressed for too long.
Depression is a state of mind we all have experienced on occasions in our life regardless of the reason(s). Always pick yourself up, dust your sneakers and get back on the track cool. Life continues and you can't get the most out of life by staying depressed.
