They might not reconsider unless there is an error or oversight on the officer's part. Being dissatisfied or disagreeing with the decision is not a ground for reconsideration. In my view, order GCMS as it does not seem like a reason to apply for a reconsideration Afolakemitee: |

While you wait for the GCMS note, you should know that providing proof of sale of property or investment certificate, if that was what you used, is not always sufficient. Sometimes, the VO probes the source of the sold assets, especially when you are a low-income earner, and it can take ages to own such assets. So, the VO might stretch the provenance of funds to ascertain the availability Imoegwu84: |

It is usually frowned upon when someone is going for a lower education level as it looks more like a program taken just for the sake of migration to Canada. But, you can address the concern in your well-articulated SoP. I know that most business degrees completed many years ago are almost obsolete due to the emergence of new technologies and trends, and these postgraduate programs are designed for those wishing to update themselves on recent market trends in their industry. The key is to give a strong enough opinion on why the program is relevant to your career growth. It helps when the intended program is related to your present occupation and an area of specialization. As mentioned above, it's easier to show career progression with a higher level of education. All the best. Bmuhd4smile: 1 Like |

It depends on the program of your choice and the level of education. Some schools accept 3rd class for postgraduate cert and diploma programs. You can reach out if you need help with admission MarksmanD: |

1. While some Vos, based on your presentation, can accept full funding with a monthly stipend as an acceptable proof of funds, others may not be as lenient as these scholarships, though available, are only accessible when you meet specific requirements. Temporary resident applications, such as a study permit, are based on the discretion of the visa officer handling an application. So, I recommend having a substantial amount and showing a reliable source of funds for the subsequent years. Suppose you don’t have additional funds or a sponsor. In that case, I strongly advise you to request a support letter from your Head of Department, or supervisor addressed to IRCC stating that they guarantee maximum financial support for tuition and living expenses and that you merit it. Furthermore, in your financial analysis, precisely mention what the scholarship covers, how much will be provided per period, and when it will be disbursed. 2. Most VOs are unlikely to buy the idea unless you can demonstrate a strong relationship with the person. 3. You can. Again, you should show the relationship with your pal and evidence of prior support since your pal is a third party. It takes a solid submission to convince a VO that a friend can pay such an amount for your education, especially if they are not financially buoyant All the best. techgen: 2 Likes |

The business should be financially buoyant to sponsor an employee, especially if the owner is a third party. For instance, it will be challenging to convince the VO that funds will be available if your employer’s annual revenue (based on cash inflow) is not more than the cost of your education by a wide margin. If you decide to proceed with this option, ensure you explain the incentive to sponsor you. Consider using the owner (not the business) as the sponsor if the person truly wants to sponsor you. All the best. Mamaoseme33: 1 Like |

Explaining the source of the funds with the investment certificate is not always sufficient. Some VOs probe the source of the invested funds, especially when you disclose a low income in your submission. Collins399: |

I believe there are two major issues—the inability of the DLI and employer to confirm the Letter of Acceptance and employment letter, respectively. Little wonder, the VO doubts the credibility of his submission. Reach out to the DLI to ascertain why they did not confirm the Letter of Acceptance and request a letter confirming the authenticity of the LoA. As for the employer, ask the school to place their seal on the employment reference letter or get it notarized. As @Bobomaigida pointed out, the contact information on the letter is likely not the same as that on their database; they have credible means of verifying some of these documents if they want to. Explain the situation to the school and ask for a copy of the LoA. Also, provide them your email so you can receive all their communication. They will ask for your personal information to verify your identity askarachi: 1 Like |

While in Canada, she submitted an Outside of Canada study permit application (IMM 1294), which is acceptable. Note that this is not an in-Canada application (IMM 5709), as the VO would have cancelled the application if she applied for in-Canada study permit (IMM5709). That said, there is a difference between the in-Canada and Outside Canada applications. With an in-Canada study permit application, having a visitor visa does not make you eligible. To be eligible to apply from inside Canada as a visitor (a study permit is processed at a visa office in Canada, and the permit is mailed to your address; PPR is not required), you must meet specific criteria; one such requirement is completing a course or program prerequisite to securing a school admission to a DLI. With the outside-of-Canada study permit (IMM 1294, if using a gckey account), the application is processed at a visa office outside Canada. Once you receive your PPR, you are now allowed to submit your passport at a visa office in Ottawa if you are in Canada at the time of approval. As I mentioned earlier, this process is not an in-Canada application. I believe the denial has nothing to do with the current location. Review the following; Sources of the funds, especially if there are lump sums Proof of relationship to sponsor, if applicable Is the program relevant to her present and future career path Program redundancy in relation to previous education halle2: |

You can apply for a reconsideration if you are sure you did not mistakenly upload another document in lieu of the LoA, and that was the only reason for the refusal. Reconsideration will save you time and money. To confirm you uploaded the correct document, go to the IRCC portal / Gckey account to view the name of the document you submitted, and then return to where you saved the LoA. You stand a good chance of getting it approved if it is an oversight by the officer. IredeJ: 3 Likes |

Let's assume the following: You are a single applicant 1 yr tuition fee, including ancillary fees, is, 18,000 Living expense as per IRCC is 10,000 (I recommend using 12,000) The cost of a flight to Canada is 2000 The cost of your transportation in Canada is 1500 (depending on the city and the school’s proximity to your residence.) Minimum PoF =18000 +10,000 + (2000+ 1500) =21,500 This minimum pof (21,000) cannot be the same for everyone. Abigbo: 2 Likes |

Yes, it's somewhat risky, but you can do an additional 1-year program to get 3 years of PGWP. Some graduates rely on lengthy PGWP processing time (you can work while the application is in process) to get additional months, so they are eligible for Canadian Class Experience and have an extra month to get an Invitation to Apply for Express Entry. You can also apply for provincial nomination, as most provinces have programs tailored for workers and international students in their province. Favouralltheway: 1 Like |

It depends on the type of sponsorship and ability to demonstrate reliable sources of income. For example, you must show funds for the tuition fees and living expenses for the duration (2 yrs) of your program if you have no sponsor, OR show funds for one year and a reliable source that can generate funds in your absence for the subsequent year. On the other hand, if you are using a sponsor, you can show just the cost of education for one year, regardless of the duration of your studies. It is noteworthy that showing just the minimum is not recommended as it is unconvincing for the sponsor to spend all the funds on your education. I believe it's best to calculate the cost of a flight to Canada and local transportation in your intended city and be realistic. Although IRCC uses 10K for living expenses, I recommend adding a couple of thousand to the living expenses, especially if you are going to cities with high living costs like Toronto, Vancouver, etc. That way, you can present your research in your SoP. To answer your question, Funds for 1 year = Tuition fee/year + living expense (10K)/yr + cost of flight and transportation in Canada askarachi: 1 Like |

Yes, they do. Conestoga and Holland college deposits are 1500 and 1000, respectively. Although Niagra College requires a one-semester tuition fee, it is not due until 3-4 months after receiving an acceptance letter. VIJUchoco1234: 1 Like |
