Re: What Is Your Say About Lagos Roads?
« #31 on: Today at 05:54:36 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a big problem with the blackman especially the species called Nigerians. In the midst of problems you see some charlatans going sentimental. what is too good about the lagos roads. How much does lagos generate in tax and other revenue and they cant make the roads motorable. Lagos roads are too bad these days. The problem with the leaders is that they are just mere bloody politicians with poor visions and policies.

GOOD and fine, lagos has alarming population that the cityis almost gasping for breathe. In this situation there should be a commensurate budget for road rehabilitation in a way that there should be near almost monthly check and maintenance (for goodness sake, tax and other revenue can effectively anchor this with other conflicting needs).

Again, the Isolo Ikotun ejigbo road for instance has people coming from Igondo, Ijegun, Isheri, Ikotun, Ejigbo etc plying the narrow road and even at that it is presently in a very bad shape. It was better arround March but some group of people under the guise of marking the road just opened the little pot holes more for rain to fininsh the ravage. I was driving along this road and crying.

Theres a place between mushin and Iyana Isolo that has a big ditch that I nearly fell into to the surprise of the on lookers that thought I knew the terrain. Are you new here? one one them had asked me. That place had been like that for the past one year.

Let us not deceive ourselves, this country has enough money that can transform infrastructure to what we have in Dubai only that the leaders are just bloody greedy politicians looking only at their selfish interests.

Have you ever asked yourselves why power project here has always failed.

The fact is that you dont do lagos road in January and stop in Marchafter getting people's ovation. The number of people that ply these roads alone are enough to scatter it in February to the extent that a visitor will never Know you ever touched it. LAMATA or whatever they call themselves should be nore proactive to have periodic checks on the roads.

This same thing goes to flood in lagos from one administration to another, the same story.

Who even says life cant be better in lagos; who says lagos cannot be decongested.

Why not build low cost housing at the suburbs and provide good transport and security.

What of the everyday traffice; If I rule lagos, I would encourage the use of by by private people especially at the hinterland and phase out commercial okada. I will import low speed or even normal bikes and impose effective speed limit.

Have they ever thought of the economic implication of the kind of heavy traffic jams that occur daily in lagos?

We lack visionary selfless leaders

very well said, come to gbagada where i live, i take 45mins from marina to gbagada on a good day and spend 1-2hr in gbagada trying to get home, why is it taking for ever for the genral hospital road to be fixed, even in Victoria island the story is the same, so when people tell me fashola is working i wonder where?, ikeja is not any different , has anyone been to the opebi -allen axis of last or is the oba-akran road?, not to mention the other roads that i do not know of, everyday i drive out i curse the government be i t the federal, state or local govt they are all the same

lets call a spade a spade, GTB customer service sucks like hell. they have a good brand name working for them, but thats from the past! As of today they suck. long queues in banking halls and @ ATMs. plus customer service officers that feel like they are doing u a favour by attending to you. I bank with them so i can tell you that todays GTB is not the same as it was 3-4yrs ago!

Car Talk › Re: Brand New Kia Cerato Vs Used Japanese by burgy(m): 9:17pm On Nov 19, 2009
well my take is that whatever car you are buying whether brand new or toks it boils down to large extent on how u use the car, i have seen people using 2008 honda accord and it loks like 1988 model , also at poster do not in the name of wanting to buy a new car stress your finances, ( the car can be accidented/stolen anytime, even if insured ), so if your finances carry it then why not if it dosent go for the toks, after all you probably just use it to work and park it and drive it back home, either way both will yserve ou well, (as long as you get a good toks)

@ george_D . in AS MUCH AS WHAT YOU SAY MAKES SENSE AND I AGREE WITH YOU ALMOST COMPLETELY, I THINK YOU DO NOT REALIZE THAT THERE ARE SOME PPLE WHO ARE VERY GOOD ADMINISTRATORS AND NOT MOBILIZER, THEY LET U MOBILIZE AND THEN ADMINISTER THE RESOURCES IN THE BEST WAY, THIS DOSE NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT BEING UR BOSS IS BEST, IT JUST SHOWS YOU THAT DIFFERENT PPLE HAVE DIFFERENT ABILITIES, THIS SAME GUY CAN TRY TO SET UP BIZ AND FAIL WOEFULLY. I PERSONALLY KNW OF S/O WHO TRIED TO SET UP AT LEAST 3 BIZS AND ALL FAILED . HE TOOK UP PAID EMPLOYMENT AND DID VERY WELL FOR IMSELF, AT THE END HE RETIRED VERY COMFORTABLE. I THINK IT KNOWING WHAT UR ABILITIES ARE AND HARNESSING THEM.

where else in the world do you sack people without notice, without reason, just give them letters with the caption service no longer needed, if not in nigeria, stanbic just did what they cannot try in south africa.they just sacked some very good hands with experience, so much about wat they say about following steps before an employee is sacked, so much for a right to defend urself, so much for foreign ownership of banks, if this is what it comes with then im better with a nigerian bank, than a foriegn on. my heartfelt sympathy to those who were sacked ( not even given a chance to resign)!

@OYB, you dont get your agm invite because, your postal system sucks like hell, which boils down to an inept govt, lets face the truth why cant the efcc go after bloody politicians whos steal money with reckless abadon, was the lagos- benin road not awarded to a contractor.will we not be better off if efcc goes after the contractor and gets the road fixed, nigeria has bigr problems than running after ceos, who gave out loans(some of which are suspicious) , but most of which are non performing cos your inept govt cannot provide a condusive environment for them, dosent it bother u how many textile firm have shut down cos they cant keep running on generators or how many coys are relocating to ghana? wake up, we should start addrssing issues inrtead of lookin for scape goats

personally i dont think its possible/advisable to trust your bof or girlfriend 100%, else you will just end up hurting yourself. Trust is important in every relationship, but giving it 100% to your partner exposes 100% to the possibility of hurt, So in my opinion trust but with reservations
